Google Now / WhatsApp Problem - "You don't have an account for <name>"
Hi everyone,
When I was first setting up my S7 Edge I tried to simply sync my old contacts via google. Everything seemed working fine until I noticed an odd behavior when I try to send WhatsApp messages with Google now. Whenever I tell google to send WhatsApp it will find the Contact, let me finish the message, but when I say "send it", it will reply "You don't have an account for <name>" and show "no contact information" (German: Google sagt "Du hast kein Konto für <name>" / und zeigt "Keine Kontaktinformationen für <name"). When I just press the send button instead the message will be sent with no problems at all.
I figured it might me a problem with the contact mappings and WhatsApp so I tried a factory reset, cleared my contacts in google and re-entered them manually. It worked at first, but once I reboot the phone, it stops working again and the error reoccurs.
The oddest thing is that it always works for a single contact, which is my mum who I entered a nickname for. For everyone else I receive above mentioned error. As a workaround I can tell google now the name and the message and then just press "send" instead of saying it.
Can anyone reproduce that issue or does even know how to solve it? I tried to create a clean google account from scratch for testing purposes only, but it didnt bring success either.

I've got the same problem, also german. SMS/Hangouts working fine, so it seems to be whatsapp. Have a look here.
edit: forgot to mention, I got a Nexus 5X. So it's nothing wrong with the S7. Also, I allready emailed whatsapp about that problem and got a canned answer with "please restart your device bla". **** them.
edit²: telegram also no longer working.

SMS problem

Hey!
Can you send SMS from your HD2?
I get no error message, but my messages are not sent, I get a warning sign on the right of the message bar. Also, when I long-press it, I have "Retry send" option.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Anyone knows how to fix it?
Same for me. Any ideas?
I can receive sms but cannot reply back
Huh, got it fixed myself
How-to:
1. Settings tab
2. Menu -> More
3. Connections
4. Advanced network
5. Scroll to the last tab (SMS Service)
6. Set it to GPRS Preferred or set it to GSM (it's probably set to GPRS now). If it's already set like that by default and not working, just try to switch it
7. Reboot
I was having a similar problem..
I was on the Tube and I pressed send sms... obviously I had no signal which was fine but when I got above ground I pressed retry and absolutely nothing happened. At all.
Had to reset in the end and delete the message in the outbox and start a fresh. Bloody annoying!!
Hi,
Although this thread is ancient, i see it's still open and named "SMS problems" which is exactly what I'm suffering from.
I just purchased my new HD2 this month and ever since I got it I can't send any SMS. Whenever I try to I get a message saying "unable to send message". I have set my message center number and everything but it still didn't work. I called the HTC help center and they told me I should install the hotfix from the HTC website but when I attempted that, it said it wasn't compatible with my device????
I upgraded my official ROM from 1.66.415.3 to xxxx.4 again using the updates from HTC main site. Again I got the same message.
Up till now I'm still not sure what the problem I have is, and have no clue what the hotfix really does!
Can anyone help me out in babysteps? I'm still new to this.
PS. I did look through the other forums for something similar. It seems everyone's sending texts but to the wrong people, lol.
HELP PLEASE!

A couple of issues

Hi Guys,
Ive had my HD2 for a couple of months now, its been running ok. I do love the phone but ive had a few issues of recent.
SMS Problem, now ive read about the sms loading issues, wrong timing etc
My problem is when I send an SMS the other person receives them like a day late, sometimes they get it straight away. I have checked to see I have signal and the message has gone through but even then the problem persists.
"get html" is another issue. I currently sync with my work exchange server however, when I try to select "HTML" email format it is greyed out and instead I have to choose plain text. I think at first when setting up the account I do get the HTML option but this must automatically go back to plain text
I have also tried going into an individual message clicking menu > view > get html
but even this is greyed out!!
Hope someone can help, Thanks!

For the SMS problem, try disabling the HTC messaging client with this app http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Tweaks/Zenyee-Disable-HTC-Messaging-82632.shtml. This will revert it to the default windows mobile one, which seems to have no issues.
2nd issue, not sure - never used it.

[Q] Error occurs when join two contacts??

When I use the following steps to join two contacts together:
1. Open your contacts or favorites.
2. Touch the contact entry to which you want to add information.
This is the contact you will see in Contacts after the join.
3. Press Menu and touch Edit contact.
4. Press Menu and touch Join.
5. Touch the contact whose information you want to join with the first contact.
The information from the second contact is added to the first contact, and the
second contact is no longer displayed in the Contacts list.
.....described in its Users Guide
Then one Error occurs and one window pops up saying:
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Afterwards, that joined contact can NOT be edited any longer because the same error keeps showing up!
Just wondering if anyone encounters this problem too?
Thank you for helping me out
is it only my problem? ahhh is there anyone having the same problem? Please let me know... Thx again Because I am thinking of returning my Nexus s if only I meet this problem.
I joined a bunch of contacts when I first got my phone, I was joining phone contacts with Facebook contacts though. Everything worked fine.
Thank you ikon8 for the quick reply.
When I create two new contacts simply with names and phone numbers on my Nexus s without facebook or Internet connection, and then join them together, that Error message occurs. So could you try this for me? If this is still not working, I think I will go to Bestbuy for exchanging a new one within 30 days....
The reason to find this problem is to copy all my contacts from my N95 stored in the sim card to Nexus s.

"unable to send message" after sync

i recently lost my phone and thought all the numbers i`d aquired over the years were gone forever, to my delight when recieving my new phone and putting my email/facebook account details in, all my old numbers were synced also. but everytime i try send a message it comes up "unable to send message try again" i can call a number no probs its just the sms. if i delete the contact and put the number in manually in the phone its fine even tho it was the exact same contact number as the one which was automatically synced. anyone else have this problem and know of a fix??? i really dont wanna have to go through 100s of contacts and delete them and re-enter the names and numbers all over again.. Thanks
wow this place is like a ghost town lol. last time i was a regular on xda was when i had a HD2, that forum was a hive of activity!! not much love for the omnia7 on here lol
Might be a prefix problem? Ask your provider if they know of this issue. Also try the network app from samsung, might fix the settings.
cheers for the reply mate.. apparently its something to do with the windows live or googlemail accounts i`d read someone tested this putting in a contact through these accounts and synching you get this problem, make a contact in the phone and its fine. didnt find a fix tho.... damn!
this person is having same issue http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wppeople/windows-live-account-synced-windows-7-contacts-sms/117e3cb3-8568-477d-974a-a6b458d16bdb?page=1&tm=1336670340518#footer

[Q] Exchange email issue with disappearing recipients when replying

Before I factory reset my phone, I thought I'd search this forum to see if my problem is a known issue but didn't get any results from my searches.
My problem:
When I reply to an email in my job's Exchange account using the native email client, I cannot add any additional recipients and the existing recipients disappear when I try. They also disappear even if I don't try to edit the existing recipients when I hit send. The end result is that the message won't go out because there are no recipients. When I start typing in the To: or CC: fields, the letters I type appear in the keyboard's suggested words list, but don't show up in the TO: or CC: fields.
Workaround:
I already recreated the account, tried different keyboards, but the only thing that seems to work is leveraging the drafts folder. After I hit reply or reply all the first thing I must do is save the message as a draft. Then, I can open it from the drafts folder where I can then send the message successfully with or without editing the recipients.
I don't recall this always being a problem. I've had the phone since day one. I first noticed the problem a few weeks before the KitKat update. I had hoped the KitKat update would have fixed it, but it did not.
Is anyone else experiencing this or know what could be causing it?
Thanks for your time
Same Issue!!
Have you figured it out yet? I'm going crazy trying to...

It turned out to be our Mobile Device Management solution at work. It was pushing down a security profile to my phone. Although the profile itself never changed, the vendor did updated the software around the time my problem started. We tried recreating the profile from scratch, suspecting it somehow became corrupted. This fixed my problem.
Is the MDM solution Airwatch? Does your email address have apostrophe in it? Thanks for responding!
