If your like me and you have had some problems with android market on your Kindle Fire (yes,I got one for christmas and its already rooted ) by following a guide with Vending.apk and though you can browse the market, it is stuck on Starting Download, I have found a solution to the problem... All you need to do is get a new file:bit.ly/tlWjSn
This file is simply an updated version to the Vendor.apk other tutorials provide.
All you do is the following(presuming you have rooted, got root explorer and GO launcher):
1.Copy the file to kindle at an easy to access location.
2.Long-Hold the file and tap move.
3.Navigate to / then system then app.
4.Set it to R/W mount (top left)
5.Paste the file.
6.Set the permissions like all other files(tick first 2 in first row, first 1 in second row and first 1 in third row then tap ok)
7.Reboot the device
8.Go onto GO launcher and add it to the screen (tap the list thing bottom middle of the screen,then tap Add. then select Application followed by Market)
9.Done! Enjoy!

I'm rooted and have SU. I have confirmed this by running Titainium Backup.
Market stopped working after the latest Kindle update. After I re-rooted, I tried re-installing vender.apk, but it still crashes upon launching it. Also, I am running Go Launcher EX.
When I browse folders while connected to a computer (using Win7), the system folder is hidden.
I never installed Root Explorer on the Fire. Is there a way for me to download and install it directly, or will I need to side load it? I assume if it's in the Market I'll need to side load.

Unfortunately you will as far as I know, but for $3.99, it is VERY useful when rooting or installing app's. market.android.com/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&hl=en

Hello guys, I have a little question related to market app that maybe has been already answered so I won't start a new thread.
I have my KF with 6.2.1 rooted and with the full android market installed (EX launcher and so on).
Usually the market works fine, but I always get errors ( process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly) and consequent force closes even if I can download stuff and apps. Basically, it happens whenever the market takes an action.
Is it a known issue or ir it "normal" ?

For me, I am having problems copying the Vending.apk to /system/app folder. I follow the steps in that tutorial but when I paste the.apk in the folder nothing happens. Help??
Got it rooted last night, and I'm using file expert since my cheap ass doesn't want to buy root explorer.

I'm afraid that without Root Explorer you can't change the /system/app folder permissions from R/O to R/W, therefore you can't paste anything in that folder.

File expert gives you that option too though.
if ur rooted but it wont paste or read and write in root explorer then ur su wasnt pushed properly in ur root process! When i rooted my kindle i deleted my old su and did the whole root process from scratch when i got the new root process. The whole thing went smooth and su showed up in apps when done but it wasnt totally rooted as i couldnt read or write in root explorer. Jcase told me that when the adb command for pushing the su wasnt done right thats what happens. he fixed it for me, great guy.

Curse these programs that won't use newer su/busybox combinations.
After installing one of the latest blur ROMs, I wasn't able to get webtop2sd to run (a very common problem), nor Cisco's Anyconnect VPN client. webtop2sd did the usual FC, while Anyconnect would complain that it couldn't start a "critical component". Going back to the one I was running before the upgrade didn't help either.
These problems are not unique to the beta, nor this ROM, but here's what I had to do:

Total props to dicksteele for the original post. Thought it might be better to put out here since this seems to be a recurring issue on most ROMs now.
Specifically,
6. Install Busybox installer from Market. Ran app installed busybox into /system/bin.
7. Open Root explorer Go to /system/etc mount r/w create webtop2sd directory
8. Go to /system/bin copy busybox over to /system/etc/webtop2sd
9. Still in root explorer, go to /system/bin and /system/xbin and delete su
10. Can't use quick reboot to reboot into recovery because su has been deleted. Wherever your adb is located, run adb reboot recovery.
11. Install the superuser app from the zip I have attached. Reboot.
12. Open some other app besides webtop2sd that needs root. Verify root is working.
13. Install webtop2sd.
14. Open webtop2sd, hopefully no FC's. Do the webtop2sd partitioning and copy webtop over to new partition on sdcard.

Yes, webtop2sd was very picky to the point of needing busybox from the installer, not the identical one installed by the ROM. Once I got webtop2sd running, I tried Anyconnect again and it started right up.
I can understand webtop2SD not working since it hasn't been updated for a long time, but a company like Cisco should be sure their tool, available on the Market, works with the latest superuser/busybox combinations.
I would go so far as to say that if you are having trouble with any programs requiring root access, try the steps above used to get webtop2SD working. Hope this helps others stuck on similar issues with these newer ROMs.
So Hello everyone, i got interesting problem...
I bricked my phone
Phone: SM-9005
OS: Android 4.4.2
Firmware: N9005XXUGNG1
Recovery: TWRP 3.0 installed.
Root software installed which may be interesting "Xposed Additions, Lucky Patcher, SuperSu, Greenify"
Step by step.

I used Root Browser (com.jrummy.root.browserfree) to copy 2 directories from my /downloads to /system.
There were /lib & /bin which contained unique libs and one executable so this would not affect system if everything went ok, but i didn't
After i started coping, root explorer asked me that "File already exist, overwrite or make a copy"? i pressed overwrite, in same second all apps in android started to generate "unexpected error", i tried to reboot and got boot into recovery
after i watched /system i found that what i tried to copy actually copied not to /system/lib & /system/app but to /system/system/lib & /system/system/app.
So i think there was some folder or file called system in /system directory which was overwritten. Or any kind of problem with dir / file permissions.
Any ideas of how to fix this / what was in /system/system / where to get bootlog to find after what "kernel panic" takes place or any other help?

Fixed myself, root browser set wrong permissions to /system while was coping files... set back to 755 and it works
"Busybox" didn't load successfully in system/xbin then what or how? (2012 7 wifi)
I used Wug's all in one root. All went well. It also included the busybox app. I did the installation using the default choice of system/xbin, which appeared in a "how-to" video as well. In the video it showed that it loaded successfully. Mine did not load successfully. It specifically said that there was a conflict with the location. I tried system/bin and it basically said the same.
My main question is. 1. What does busybox do that I will need on this device, and 2. How then do I load it, as in, what options should I choose for location? Or delete altogether and reload it? and that question is asked because I want to make sure that deleting the app will not mess up my root/rom/twrp or anything else.

busybox provides a set of linux commands needes especially when you want to run scripts e.g. in init.d
What version of Android do you have installed? Most likely there is no space left on /system and so installation of busybox failed. If you are on a custom rom, you can try to flash micro / pico gapps instead of the normal ones to leave some space left on /system for busybox, or you need to root your device "systemless" and you can install busybox on the partition provided by SuperSU ...
So ive noticed on most roms that when you remove default built in root, it gives you an android is starting or optimising message on every boot. I deleted built in root so i could root with supersu and install suhide so i could play pokemon go. Well su hide wont install with built in root still intact so i had to do a full unroot first. Thats where the optimising problem on every reboot began. But i managed to solve it by copying the su file from supersu to the /su/xbin folder. After that no more problems on reboot. Thought id share in case someone else was having this same annoyance.
