Bought Verizon Note 3 n900V: T-Mobile Sim Card won't work - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my Verizon Note 3 today. I put in my T-mobile sim card. When I turned it on, it doesn't a) prompt for an unlock code and b) there are no signal at all. The signal bars are grayed out and there is a little "x" on top of the bars.
This is strange to me because last year I had the same thing but it worked- a Verizon Note 3 with T-Mobile Sim card. Now it's not working. Does anyone know why?

Check you're baseband? I'm having an issue and the baseband is null also so is the imei.

What about the APN is that set for t-mobile?
Only issue I ran into using a AT&T Sim was the Sim card was not activated right. (Had to call tech support)

Most of the Verizon devices are unlock, thats way you don't see the prompt for an unlock code.

Follow these steps to setup the APN for T-mobile :
1. In your device go to Settings.
2. More networks.
3. Mobile networks.
4. Access Point Names.
5. APNs.
On APNs press the symbol + and you'll see this :
now, here you need to edit as shown in the picture:
when you're done, tap the menu key on your device and tap save, now tap the new APN profile
go back to Mobile networks and tap Network mode and choose Global or GSM/UMST and that's it .
If you want 4G LTE signal use the Global mode.

3G working on my AT&T Tab

Ok excuse my ignorance cause I'm still working around on figuring out Samsung, Android, and Rooting for this as it's much different than my Nexus One.
Ok this may be stupid but I put in my SIM cards for my Nexus into the Galaxy Tab. The 3G wouldn't work. And it's because the APN is set for broadband. Ok, cool. I figured I would need a special SIM card dedicated to tablets. But I thought I could be slick and set up a new AT&T APN set up and set up the wap.cingular account. But it won't let me set it up because wap.cingular seems to be blocked out???
So anyways here's the weird thing, I was deleting the APN account, but now I notice I have 3g service..... Wow weird. How can I have access to 3g now w/o setting up the wap service? When I switch it back to the broadband APN setting the 3g goes away. I have a dummy APN set up with the name ATT wap
And I never notice that with a SIMS card in the download button in the Market is switch to an AT&T button. Guess it only shows the download button when there's no SIMS card in?
Anyhow I can now get my 3g service now. Sorry if this been explain previously. Tried search couldn't find info on it.
Speed test shows 3036 dl 333 ul so I guess that from previously reading that upload speed are capped ~ 300
Will flash to the Euro was I'm comfortable with the instructions and research on it. I never flashed a Samsung and seems a bit trickier than nexus since I'm so used to Rom Manager and Clockwork Mod.

Yes I'm familiar with this thread as I have been watching it closely for the EURO firmware, but my thing is more about how I can get the 3g to work when I have a dummy APN account set, but it won't work on the ATT Broadband APN account.
I not ready to flash this till I'm fully comfortable with being able to do back ups, restores and flashs.

Ok this is exactly what I did.
I went to Mobile settings and went in to APN
It already had the AT&T Broadband APN set up.
I selected to Add New APN thru the menu button
I named it ATT wap
I couldn't enter wap.cingular under APN. It would let me fill in the rest of the information like User, MMSC, etc, but not wap.cingular. I don't know how but it worked. Maybe it's a glitch within the firmware.
At that point I used the backed button and got the notification "The APN cannot be empty"
I selected exit and the 3G icon was at the top. Here's the pics show the 3G icon

No point. There's no info entered at all. That's the whole point. I never set up anything but for whatever reason when I select ATT wap 3G icon appears.

Enable VOLTE on Verizon Nexus 6

These were a couple things I had to get Advanced Calling 1.0 (VOLTE) working on my device. This is for either Lollipop or Marshmallow
Step 1 - Make sure you the feature added to your plan.
You can call Verizon and have them add the feature or you can do it yourself from logging into your account and adding it as a feature

Just because it worked for you guys already, doesn't mean it worked for me out of the box. I actually had to do this to get mine to actually provision
Three in the UK recently started rolling out VoLTE so I'm left wondering how the option can be enabled in the UK.
The VoLTE Provisioning Flag is already showing as off but I can't see the menu in Network Settings ?

You want the provisioning to be enabled, not off..... Also, you carrier has to have it enabled on your account and it working on their network
It's free for all customers as of the beginning of September.
From the screenshots I've seen everything looks okay, guess it's not enabled on international carriers in the rom.

Under cellular networks its a setting called enhanced 4g lte. That is what enables volte. *#*#4636#*#* will take you to a menu to check bands and other stuff.

WiFi calling and VoLTE both work out of the box on T-Mobile. You can download the LTE Discovery app which will tell you what band you're connected to
Enhanced 4G LTE Mode (VoLTE / HD Calling) works!

Its an issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64227798
I am on fi now, but the first day I had the phone I put my tmo prepaid sim in. Noticed in the APN, the setting APN type was : default, supl
On my previous t-mobile branded phones the setting has been:
APN type: default,mms,supl
Not sure if it matters or resoved any problems, but I edited mine to match.

If I am on LTE with VoLTE, I stay on LTE. If I am on HSPA+, I drop to Edge while on a call.
Not all LTE towers support VoLTE yet. Find someone else on T-Mobile with a VoLTE and see if you get HD calling. You can really hear the difference. It sounds like a Skype to Skype call.
My APN settings are the defaults for T-Mobile. You can reset them to defaults when in the APN menu from the three dots drop down.
The first one if for data and Assisted GPS (default, supl).
The second one is Wi-Fi calling (ims). Not sure if it is used by VoLTE.
The third is for MMS (mms).

Please help to remove app icon

Hey guys. I have unlocked S8 which came with o2 sim card. While I was waiting for o2 to port my Vodafone number, I inserted my old Vodafone sim to use. Vodafone sim tool app appeared on menu which is normal when used with Vodafone sim. Today finally number ported and I started using o2 sim.
Now Vodafone app with android picture appeared in menu and can't remove it (see image).
I tried force stop, clear data, restart phone numerous time, nothing happens.
How can i delete it without reset?

Are you saying you long press on the icon and what? don't get the menu to uninstall? doesn't work? It may be because it is registered as system app. So if uninstall doesn't work, maybe disable will? If not you'll probably need root to get rid of it.
If I long press, I get following
1. Select multiple items
2. Add shortcut to home
3. Disable (blanked out)
4. App info
No uninstall option

Is there an option to at least hide the app icon in the home screen settings?

Try disabling Developer Options.
Factory reset the Phone with the new simcard in it...
Update home screen setting.
Just received the update.
Long press the empty space - go to home screen setting - about... then update it.

If you want to hide an app, try long press an empty spot on the home screen, then tap on "home screen settings", then go to hide apps. See if that will do it.

[KB2005] No 5G or voice over wifi

hello,
my phone model: KB2005
Version: KB2005_11_C.33 Android 12
I can't have the option to activate 5G or voice over wifi. how can i solve this problem?
can I switch to the EU version to perhaps solve this problem?
Original phone, no root.
Thanks
Easy question: Have you tried to see if your city supports 4g because in my case I have an iPhone 12 and a Realme gt neo 2 and having a telephone contract with 5g, I still can't activate it today because my city does not support the type of connection

}
As you can see:
5G is not available everywhere, but we should be able to choose: 5G, 4G, 3G...
If your carrier is like mine, ATT, the phone is not on their supported list and is therefore not provisioned when it connects to the network
In reality the 5G option is not available even in my case, the fact is that 5G is automatically enabled as you enter a city that supports it, remember to have a device compatible with 5G

Hello, I used this trick to activate 5G: Download the ShortCut Maker application from PlayStore, Go to configuration/ configuration activities/ and search for network, open and click on "try this shortcut" this opens a menu where it says type of preferred network we enter and we choose a network that contains NR which is 5G.
Excuse my English
Looks like GayT&T made some compatibility updates, guess what phone is listed now

I'm about to MSM back to a KB2005 (from KB2003) and run up to a store and make them make it work. I'll let you guys know how it goes

I do. it is a thing. Ive also used QPST to make the appropriate edits. Essentially done everything I can except for forcing ATT to actually provision 5g to my phone even tho they've said they enabled the flag.
