The bootloader unlock method is the same. (You have to wait 7 days...)
After that you just have to flash the magisk boot.img. (No need for twrp)

Other phones got the update. Why not RedmiNote 7/7S? Heard that a closed beta update is released. When will a stable update come ?
They haven't released the Mi Pilot program ROM (beta) yet (at least for EU and Global ROM), nobody knows when, Xiaomi like always, will be slow af.

I unlocked my device and went with the Miui 12 EU stable then beta roms. Smooth experience for me so far. I got tired of waiting.
