Build prop mods z3 (resource) - Xperia Z3 General

Hi this is a build prop for a z3v but you guys can use it as a resource it has lots of sound mods,z5 stuff, battery saving, turning off logging much more. I'm posting this cause there's not much build prop stuff on xda that's not from 3 or 4 years ago. Yes 95% of this works maybe more im testing things still.

Yes, my bad! Thi's first time I try, i have no experience

most important is don't change build.prop related within "ro.build.version.sdk" and "ro.build.version.release" if you have different phone model / firmware

now i can't flash by used flashtool and repair with verizon upgrade assistant - sony not work also. any idea for this problem ?

I8190XXANA2 is better than older ones ;) ... just takes longer to set up :P

OK, so yesterday I flashed the new ANA2 firmware and immediately saw that it uses much less RAM resources than the previous versions. Although the only downside is that it returns everything to stock (there isn't a pre-rooted one yet). And by "everything" I mean EVERYTHING : no more root ; stock recovery and a bunch of annoying apps and bloatware. So you gotta install CWM (or TWRP) again, through ODIN, then you gotta root your phone, again, with Chainfire's SuperSU app through the custom recovery. And finally you gotta install an app like Freezer to disable the bloatware (NOTE-Google Maps and Google Magazines need to be deleted from .../system/app, because for some reason they won't stay freezed after a reboot). The other thing is (at least with me) that the official samsung boot and shutdown logo are replaced by ones from Movistar (it's an operator?) and the boot up sound is missing, but if you dig a bit here in xda, you'll find a post for the Galaxy S2 which has all the S3 Mini original animations needed to restore your phone's boot and shutdown logo If you really want the boot sound back, again search a bit here and you'll find a post which has a collection of S3 system sounds (which are the same as our S3 Mini's) and you just have to copy the file "PowerON.ogg" to ...system/media/audio/ui replacing the existing one. I think it's just better to replace the whole "audio" folder, 'cause there might be some other sounds missing.
And yeah, that's about it about the new firmware. Please note that I've downloaded this http://live.samsung-updates.com/details/24398/Galaxy_S_3_Mini/GT-I8190/XEC/I8190XXANA2.html version of the ANA2 firmware, so changes may vary between other versions of it.
If you can't find the posts for the original sounds and boot stuff, ask in this thread and I'll upload them to mediafire and post links here

well, actually no. They've added a few more apps but you can get rid of them either with Freezer or by deleting them from system/app
Either way, you MUST be rooted
Ah oke , do you might know witch apps i get new? becaus i have been notified on my Phone that an update is available . Im currious
Fresh version of baseband, and this would be for I8190, not I8190N model, right ?
Dont ask how i know, but flashing wrong version is a really really bad idea........

yes. everything is fresh and the above one is for the GT-I8190, but there is a ANA1 firmware for your I8190N model Here it is : http://live.samsung-updates.com/details/24083/Galaxy_S_3_Mini/GT-I8190N/TMZ/I8190NXXANA1.html

well, I remember getting Google Magazines, for sure, but i forgot if there are any others. Tomorrow I'll flash ANA2 again as I wanna have the ANA2 kernel (currently on bln one) for better performance. Will let you know before I start freezing and deleting them
ok, so I reinstalled ANA2 and there are a few new apps like : Gun Bros , Google Magazines , Emotico , Mucika and Movistar
Thanks , but so the unwanted apps grow more ... i believe its almost time for me to excualy search somebody in real life that can root .
Can the new firmware help my battery to last longer? becaus my Phone's battery only last for 7 hours ...

I think it helps, but can't tell exactly as I've got apps that save up battery. Here's my setup :
DU Battery Saver PRO (paid ; needs root) - only turned on the Low CPU Frequency When Screen Locked option
Boosters Plus Battery Saver PRO (paid ; needs root) - Turned on all boosters (Double booster on ones which have that option)
Tasker (paid) - i use it so that my phone goes into Airplane Mode from 00:00 to 07:00 and to turn on 3G only when I launch specified apps
Battery Saving Build.prop Tweaks (...system/build.prop) - add the following lines at the very end of the build.prop file, then save it and reboot -->
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
With the above settings and the new firmware I got 5% drain from 23:00 to 07:00, which is amazing for me. The trick is to be able to use your phone without it lagging or lacking features, but when the screen turns off, all the above mentioned things take effect and greatly preserve battery life.
P.S. I can tell you how to root your phone it it's the international GT-I8190 version. I've even got all the stuff needed on my PC if you can't find something.
Oke thanks ,
I have never used custom rom . So i first gonne see if the new firmware thingy can help and otherwise i install custom rom

I was like that 'bout a year ago, but yesterday I remembered that there is nothing better than the latest stock firmware for a device. With all custom roms that i've tried FF6 and a bunch of other games and the whole UI lagged very much. As of yesterday, it runs smooth again (just like when I bought my phone).

Good work. So it should only work as a Torch. Any way to make it when we click a photo? As a camera flash?
I've used this from 4.4.2, on Z1 and Z2, it's safe, just make your back's device get hot after some minutes open the torch.

yes flash is so low and image wasn't good
sam has a powerful flash i noticed that as i had s2 plus before
I installed your mod onto my phone and I do see an increase in brightness when I am using the flashlight!
The problem I have is that when I try to take a photo with flash it always becomes corrupted and doesn't save? When I set flash to off the photos save fine but as soon as I try it with flash again it doesn't work. It does work when I am recording a video however, just not while taking photos.
I backed up my original flash parameter file but even when I put it back my camera still doesn't work when I have flash enabled. I even tried other camera apps from the Play Store and they face the same issue..
Do you have any insight as to what would be causing this? Do you have a backup of the original file that I can try to save my phone with?
I'm using a Z2 with stock 5.0.2 Lollipop (23.1.A.1.28) rooted with locked bootloader.

PathROM was designed to help porting MIUI to devices. I used it 3-4 years ago for porting MIUI to my LG P500. A developer/user could definitely go the manual way, but it would be mess.
Anyways, why do you need MIUI on your 6P? I have had a nightmare using MIUI. And last I used was on the Nexus S.

I'm dont really know anything about porting ROMs, but if you tell me what you're having issues with I can try to help in finding the solution. Willing to do anything I can to help out

Thank you guys, I will use your help.
Today I will look into it, for the moment i'm still figuring out how to keep symlinks and permissions on windows, but i guess it's impossible. I will try firing up a vm with nix if everything fails.
Ok, so... I made a system and boot img, but I didn't tested those, and I can't get the updater-script to work. If someone helps me with this, I will be really thankful.
The permissions and symlinks part is something that worries me, but I keeped the symlinks and permission from original system.img filesystem by mounting it as a drive in linux and applying mods there.
Also, I keeped every part of the symlink script that camed with miui, so it should tecnically work.
If some of you guys helps me testing this, we can do it.
**** WARNING. IT CAN DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE AND AT THE MOMENT, IT DOESN'T WORK!!! ****
Here is the rom: https://mega.co.nz/#!b90GSJRa!7rXM2UhwtEw8M0fbIrK2F3za9w5KTGY1FPD4IGmHu1k
It was ported from the Mi Note (not the pro) which has really similar specs to our device, and this version also includes an italian translation (so there are 3 langs, English, Chinese and Italian)
No ones helping? I really wish i could help you with the testing but as i dont have computer access right now dont wanna brick my 6p without being able to repair it without pc.
Ok, i managed to get the rom flashed... So. The boot image seems almost fine, since i got to the bootanimation screen. There, it stucks.
I don't know how to debug it, since the adb doesn't show up (and is active in kernel)
I activated adb by the use of:
Code:
ro.adb.secure=0
ro.secure=0
ro.allow.mock.location=0
ro.debuggable=1
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp,adb
persist.service.adb.enable=1
persist.service.debuggable=1
in the kernel default.prop... I don't know if these lines are outdated, but i'm still trying guys.

Nemesis Rom patch for GSM N910P

This thread is dead! Please delete!
aaron74 said:
I tried posting this other night but xda started maintenance that night. And I just started new job and van broke down tonight. So I'm late. But anyhow this is what I wrote that night.
After seeing last few post(pg 85) of Nemesis Rom. I decided to put a patch together for you guys installing on GSM 910P (should also work for N910T also). This is how i installed this on my device and works.
Because this is aroma Rom I didn't want to flash fixes after Rom.(I wasn't sure if it'd cause a problem). So this will help you integrate. This patch already has T Mobile data patch inside and also works for Sprint gsm users like me.(personally cause I use gsm, I prefer it This way). Sorry Sprint users i can't help.
This patch also includes RamV2 kernel for Sprint. But there's also 2 empty folders one for N910T and one that's called Custom. That's where you put your boot.img.
If you need to edit build.prop further for your data it's in there but works for me as is.
Also note I left the 2csc files (features.xml & others.xml) untouched.
Pretty much all I did was add the aurora data fix minus csc edits. Plus options for kernel. I also added Flipboard cause i like it over upday.
How to use.
1. Unpack Rom.
2. Unzip my patch twice (I double zipped it so noobs can't try installing in twrp)
3. Put your boot.img in folder you want.( In /nemesis/kernel/your device)(already has Ram V2 in N910P)
4. Copy all files over to root of Rom zip.
5. Repack Rom and flash.
Choices will be in aroma for your kernel.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work on my N910P
Aroma ROM didn't recognise my kernel.
It showed kernel for only N910F and N910G
I later put my boot.img into in both folders on two different times but ended in bootloop and intermittent vibrations.
Thanks again for your guide

So sorry for that. When I built the patch I put the wrong build.prop in it. I was testing different settings on my device and that was a bad one. :crying:

Ok @aaron74 I'm going to give one more try.
But can you give a detalid guide as to the kind of files to be copied to which destination?
The last time I copied only the boot.img file to the nemesis/device name folder in the original Rom.
I see META-INF in your patch, do I have to copy that as well and overwrite it since folders with same name are found in the original Rom?
Thanks

Sorry but my time is limited to a few hours at night, to get on here. I use to get on all the time, was self employed, but now working for someone.
But you copy the whole folders over to root of Rom. But you obviously got it working.
I made a post already on devs thread. Told him he could post it there if he wants. I didn't post it there cause it's just for our device and didn't want to disrupt his thread.
Glad you got it going. I love this Rom. Runs good, good battery, awesome Rom control app. Other N7 ports run alright to but I hate that bright white boot up screen they have, plus I have to mod them a lot to get running right.
I just hope this dev stays with the project.
And no, I am not a genius. I've just retained a lot of knowledge from tinkering and from all the dev and modders here on xda. But thanks for the vote of confidence. :laugh:

Also, Do you use Sprint service? (Cdma)
Or GSM service?
Battery usage.
I've been running Rom for 3 days now. So battery stats should be calibrated ok by now.
Below are some pics of my battery usage. I've been working a lot so you can see I don't have much screen on time. But I think the battery usage of this Rom is very good, especially with the Ram kernel.
Do you have to resign zip for success?
Edit: After having issues attempting to install the rom with this patch, I did the following to successfully install:
1. Unzip Rom
2. Unzip patch twice
3. Take the folders inside of the Nemesis-patch folder and copy them to the inside of the NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON folder.
4. Select everything inside of the NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON folder and zip it up as NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON_PACKED
5. Transfer NEMESIS_V2_NOTE7_PORT_N4_SNAPDRAGON_PACKED to the root of your sd card
6. Flash packed zip.
Thanks for the patch @aaron74 and thanks for the rom @anggara08

I use GSM.
You are a genius because you made it possible for me to install a ROM that I wanted so badly
Only problem is the ambient light sensor.
It doesn't work properly
The screen goes very low even in bright environment.
To get it working I always have to pretend to make a call and put the phone close to my ear and back before it works
But for that and the fingerprint, everything works flawlessly.

That's from AOD. It's buggy on all these N7 ports. Either turn it off. Or what seems to help me, if your screen opens up dark, just relock phone pushing power button, and immediately push it again to unlock it.
It's been working for me, and only takes 5 extra seconds. AOD also flashes for me, which I haven't found a cure for yet.

No, you don't need to resign.
Did you download my current link? When I first posted this, I had wrong build.prop file in zip. And I just fixed it a couple days ago.
What program are you using to zip with? Also are you using Sprint phone with gsm?

I figured that you didn't have to zip. And yes, I was working with your newest build.prop. I am on a Sprint phone with gsm for freedompop, but about to use tmobile.
I am seeing some issues with the rom though that I didn't see in Norma v10.
1. NFC is missing
2. Rom Control is different
3. I am unable to titanium backup restore many things which causes FC's all over the place.
4. AOD is horrible.
Is there any way to grab AOD, NFC and Rom Control from Norma v10, since they are fixed on that rom?

You probably can swap. It's just figuring out exactly what to swap and erase. I was gonna look into some of this. But I've been too busy with work.
Good luck!

Sorry bud. I haven't had much time to get on here.
Yes I wrote the thread a lil vague, more for people that are use to this stuff.
When I get some time, I can try to walk you through this and make a lil better guide.
This is just bad timing. I got so many things going at once. Just started new job, fuel pump went out on car, just bought a new ssd for my laptop trying to get time to install fresh Linux. Just put new 128gb sd in this phone and all my files are gone. Between all that and Christmas stuff with kids.
I use to be on here hours at a time down to hours per week.
I actually just seen new Ram V3 kernel for our device and was gonna update. I'll get back with ya. :fingers-crossed:

The futur of the X

As Sony announced few days ago that they'll discontinuing the X and X compact, what does it mean of us loners?
I mean it has been more than a month since the Performance variant got 7.1.1 and we still running the 7.0 and no news about when we'll get that update;
Also does this mean, that we won't be getting android O when it hits market?
From what i understand, they will only stop the production. That means no X2 or X2c.
Current phones will continue receiving updates until the end of its 18-month lifespan. That means 7.1 will come soon. (Actually it's already coming to Concept roms).
Though I hope they will skip 7.1 and go straight to 8.0.
C'mon Sailfish. Daddy needs a better OS.
Trashed it so fast. Sony is making some very odd choices. I hope they get their sh** together

Isn't it 2 year "lifespan" of updates ?????
Well, if you guys want some good news, Android 7.1 update for Xperia X/X Compact might start rolling really soon. Yesterday, kernel sources from an unannounced build (34.3.A.0.194) surfaced on Developer World, and given the bump to 34.3.xx.xx.xx from the previous 34.2.xx.xx.xx indicates it's a major update instead of simple bug fixes...

There's new Smart STAMINA mode, revamped quick settings with 6 toggle and Settings button (previously only 5 present and no Settings button when collapsed), round icons for Google apps, aand June security patch.
Someone said there is Xperia Actions, but I have yet to find it. Battery life seems to be slightly better, haven't played much with the update actually
