Thank you for the advice. I assume this is from experience? It was kind of you to share.
If you're in a phone call you can press the "more" button and then "turn on extra volume" and it helps a lot.
If I call certain places/people I can hear loud and clear, but if I call my wife she sounds real low. So idk if it's her phone or what, but I found something to help in case someone else is having the same problem.

Just trying to get a laugh out of you.. But in all honesty, I have had no problems hearing anyone during phone calls.. Might be an issue with your wife's phone?

Do anyone know...
I have a s7 as well. My gf and 2 of my buddies also have the same issue "in-call volume". To much "base" and/or not enough "trebble". In-call quality is affected. I have to ask people to repeat often. I know about the "extra volume" setting. But its a pain to always have to turn it "ON" and no option to have it "ON" by default. I have a question: If I use the "hearing aid" settings (which disable the "extra volume" setting", what is the difference between the two options???? Anybody knows if the volume values are different?
Thanks for you help, it is very appreciated.

I have the same issue & I hope someone can help !!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I read an article that went out 3 days ago :s7 issues and how to fix them"
Go to settings - sound and notifications - at the bottom there is "other options (or something like that". Some of them are for ear headset, but some are for other speakers. What I did : on the main page you will see 2 circle that you can play with : one called "base" and the other one called "treble".
I settled them treble full and base way less. I have had no chance to test this yet but it was proposed in the article. Hope it has an impact on calls.

How do I set "In-call volume" permanently?

I have to turn the in-call volume up on EVERY SINGLE CALL and it is getting quite annoying. It does not remember the volume I had set for the last call...how do I permanently set my in-call volume to max? I do not need more than the max...the highest setting is fine, but please tell me that I do not have to turn it up for each and every call.
Thanks.
I don't know of a setting to do it with Moto. I just looked and didn't see it. I have the Quick Settings app and there is an option for Voice Call Volume. Where this will fix your problem I honestly don't know. I've never payed attention if the in coming call volume re-set every time. It's free so you have nothing to loose to try it.

I'd like to know the fix for this as well. Glad I'm not the only one lol.
I use audio guru to fix this.

Ringer Volume Low On Max Setting

Hey all,
New to the forum and first post!
Look forward to speaking and getting to know you all.
Question: Anyone having issues with the ringer volume?
Mine is set to Max but it's still so soft/low.
I can barely hear the phone in my pocket or jacket.
Any fix for this?
Thanks.
*added* - also vibrate is very weak!
Get a belt clip case to wear it, you'd look Sooo Cool

if i can't hear my phone while it's in my jacket (pocket on the inside of jackets right where heart/below heart is). i doubt i can hear it on the waist!
is it only my phone or are there others out there with the same issue?
and before any smarty pants comments, my hearing is fine!
thanks!
Yep. Same here. Also the vibrate is horribly weak...

i use my own custom notification and ring tones, and have no problem, maybe someone with abit of time can put the stock tones through an audio converter and increase the volume
Here is what to do, (do exactly as I say before you say it did not work).
1- unlock your screen if it is locked
2- press home button (no mater what, just press it)
3- hold the valuem up for 10 sec
now it should be louder
Is there supposed to be any new / different notification after 10 seconds?

m3dteam: lol... that changes nothing. volume is already set on max it's not different changing it that way.
anyone else that has same issues?
anyone else that can help?
=)
I had the same issue I fixed it though by getting this App Volume+ from the Market. Then I downloaded this other app Zedge from the marketplace and replaced my ringtone.

Lost in Forum..need some answers

Made a transition from N1 to GS2 and not sure I actually liked the phone. 4 days now and trying very hard to keep it. The dev forum is huge here with 2 different sections and struggling with some of the tweaks and mods.
1)the volume on phone earpiece during call is very low. Even jacking vol all the way upto 100%, I sometimes struggle to hear other person properly. Also to add is the voice of call sounds very "distant". Anyone experiencing this?
2) is there an option to turn off "auto rotate" for dialer?
3) any settings for selection of notification widget?
4) how to change lockscreen to default android one?
much appreciated replies. Cheers.

Edit: found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146825. Seems like this is an issue with hardware. Done some changes and IMO it's a slight improvement over defaults. Thanks for suggestion.
first one 6984125 comes up with blank screen (ServiceMode) and 9072641 is not working.

Yes, I miss stickied dev list of updates of all the ROMs that can be seen in other device forums. Guess it will eventually pick up when the device matures.
2) 3) No, you will have to switch to a custom ROM as far as I know
4) You might have luck with the WidgetLocker lockscreen app.

Dual microphone: calls quality

I've notice some problems with the quality of the calls, mainly the way people hears me. Looks like the noise cancelling is not working well and the upper microphone is forcing voice cuts.
I did a test putting my finger on the up microphone and people hears me better.
Does anyone have experienced the same problem? Do you know if there is a way to disconnect by software the upper microphone?
Thanks
The upper mic works only for video recording. I want it to cancel the noise in calls, but for now there is not such an option.
Yeah I've got some complaints from people I called that the quality was bad, I sounded far away. I've posted a thread as well. I haven't tried to block the top mic, gonna try that!! I've tried to use the Service Menu to change some mice settings, but I can't get in the appropriate sub menu...
yes - I'd like to know the answer to this too ...
I've done a couple of tests more, its the upper mic...
Just tried to call in a noisy environment, and covering the upper micro made a difference.

NO, you have that option when placing or receiving a call. Just pres menu and activate noise cancelling.
And this is what I use to solve the problem, I deactivate this noise cancelling.
so do i have to deactivate the noise cancelling manually every single time for the better call quality?
Hmm... sucks to be.
I think no noise cancelling has to be default, and we shold be able to activate it when we need.

Yes, I've been looking for, but only found the option to deactivate during a call.
Cloud someone tells us if there is a way to to it permanently?
What base band or firmware version are you guys on? Be buying a note over the weekend andwill test to see if the same problems arise. Singapore version is DXKK1 with XXKJ6 Baseband.

Same problem for me. I have bought my phone here in Latvia. Everytime during the call I need to turn on noise cancelation manualy. Hope, Samsung will make some update soon.
The people I called said that deactivating the noise canceling was a major improvement in sound quality. It's a bummer I have to deactivate it each time I call, there must be a solution for that problem.
But what about the cause of this problem. Is this a firmware issue or is the upper mic defect? I would like to hear from more people, we can't be the only ones having this problem.. If the mic is defect I'm sending my note back to the supplier.

Gsmarenas review is up: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_n7000-review-676.php
gsmarena is reporting excellent call quality and audio (music) quality.
now which magical test unit did they receive?
In my case no one complained of audio quality, they said that the voice just sound perfect. And this thing happened on both SGS2 and Note with noise cancelation on.
So tiny holes each on top and bottom of the phone are microphones!
I thought they were water drainage holes

Anyone have a solution for this stupid notification?
I tried system tuner. Its don't work too.
I am also looking for solution for this.
Well, this is going to sound really stupid, but I finally just turned down the volume. Except it wasn't as easy as it sounds, and I can't explain how I did it. Volume setting was resistant to being permanently reduced, so I just kept poking and prodding at different volume settings and finally success. Good luck....

I do not have an "Advanced Options" under "Settings > Volume" and neither did I ever faced such warning. I am able to change my volume to max (both on speaker and in headphones mode) without any warning.
Pls check attachment for screenshot of volume settings.

Correct. Have to leave it at reduced volume or you get the warning.

Interesting. You should have 3 dots in the upper right corner for more settings. Perhaps your country doesn't require the warning?
The high volume warning is an EU thing, annoying AF.
No 3 dots in volume settings either. Though I have seen this warning before on my a50. I am not sure if it appeared also for my s10 for first time or not but now it doesnt occur anymore. In my country, it gives that warning only for first time you try to raise the volume I guess.
Samtweak v2 worked for me
I'm using a UK Vodafone S10 Plus, ive just checked my volume. I don't get that message at all on mine. Maybe cause I use the app Volume Boost by Goodev. Only use it to increase the volume, didnt know it even had that feature, never checked til just now, or maybe it's not the app and I didnt have it in the first place. Don't want to uninstall it to find out. Never bothered me that much anyway.

Because it's been fairly easy to remove up until now and I don't need ANOTHER, useless dialog/notification to dismiss.
It's a waste of space and time!

It also comes back after 20 hours of listening so it is pretty annoying if you listen a lot...
