System UI tuner - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Is there a way to turn the system UI tuner on or did Samsung remove this:fingers-crossed:
It was a big feature of M I was looking forward too. ONe of the main reasons I rooted was to clean up the status bar. IM guessing its just not there but it would be nice if someone finds it. I cant find information anywhere else.

The information I'm finding everywhere else is that everyone else is looking for it, too.
Apparently HTC acknowledged removing it from the Marshmallow updates for the M8 and M9 (sorry, I don't have a link to an official statement), so I suspect Samsung did the same. I'm not thrilled.

*removed* i see what you mean now

Deleted htclockscreen, looking for insight

First, yes, I've searched, despite my post count, I scower these forums as well as the IRC to make sure I know what I'm talking about, to some degree anyways.
I've deleted htclockscreen. For what I want from a rom, I've pretty much customized my phone exactly how I want it. While this is a small thing, it's still something that bothers me....
I've replaced the default alarm with deskclock to get around the dismiss issue.
Ive deleted numerous apps on my phone to where it's not bloated really at all anymore. It's very CMish.
My qualm, much like a few other people, is that the transparent lockscreen effect after deleting htclockscreen is just annoying in that, i know it's something to do with the framework, and now i've seen the cm nightly build, to know that it's possible to fix it...
would anyone know how to go about doing so? is there a file from the cm-nightly build I could push to my rom to fix it?
It's the one, little bitty, issue I have with what i've done so far. I feel if I got that part fixed, I could release a pretty decent rom to everyone that doesn't want all the bloat and excess junk on the phone. It's not completely rid of sense... but it's rid of most of it. I dont mind the sense calling/answering aspect.
Anyways... I know there have been a few threads to touch on this, and a few have asked questions in this similar style but i didn't see anything dedicated to getting rid of the transperancy on the lockscreen. Also would be nice if the menu button didn't unlock it too...
any guidance or insight on the subject would be most appreciated.
note* i've tried pushing some files from other builds of other roms but haven't found anything to work flawlessly, either a lot of fc's or bootloops... and i dont' know how to complie that file myself or know enough to figure it out...
thanks in advance to anyone who might want to help me along
thanks greatly

[q] Notification bar edits?

Maybe this should go in dev, forgive me if so, I've been in the romming and rooting scene since the d1 but never really got my hands into actually editing files for myself. With that said I was wondering for the transformer if there is a way to turn off or clear the notification bar of all non running notifications easily? Disable some things like the sd card notification always being on? Have more than 5 or 6 whatever the limit seems to be down there? And maybe make a suggestion for a willing dev to try to make an almost phone style pull up notification area for all notifications..if thats even remotely possible. Probably not based on the framework? Who knows, even if it cleared the bottom and brought up a seperate window that'd be awesome. If none of that is possible, is at least getting rid of the sd card icon possible? Thanks guys.
Oh btw, I am running the latest prime 1.5 with the clem kernel. Willing to alpha/beta/flash zips etc.
Me too!
I think those are good suggestions and i'd be keep to test any solutions anyone here comes up with
Great suggestions and I completely agree. I'm sure with the right developers working on it that anything is possible. I am still waiting for full facebook integration like HTC sense has. It'd be nice to get desktop notifications from FB and Twitter etc...
You can modify the layout (xml) it yourself, Use Apk-tools 1.4.1.

[Q] Ideos S7 SLIM!!!

Does anybody know anything about this tablet Huawei Ideos S7 SLIM? I looked everywhere and all i find is about ideos s7 but not slim , there is a lot of people saying that those two are not the same and i agree because slim has a better hardware. Now am asking does anybody know where to find custom roms for s7 slim? P.S Thanks
i have the same question, who can help us S7 slim users?
I am struggeling with the root, any idea?
I've found only one that works, no need for root, rom does everything itself, but its not great. Its 2.2.2 android it has top bar like standard android system not like default s7 slim top bar, work little faster. Name of rom is S7-trzmod-v03 its not really hard to find. But there is nothing excep that, it will be good that somebody can port 2.3 or 3.0 on S7 slim, i think that S7 slim has enough hardware power for those system.
I root him with gingerbreak and that is only way for s7 slim but i also can not find any rom only oficial 2. 2. 2
I rooted with Gingerbreak 1.2. No problems, took less than 5 minutes.
Gingerbreak did the trick here as well.
No to find some useful information on this device.
I see the widgets they use are "emotion widgets", anyone know where I can some info on this? I need to change some of the widget settings, like the bookmark widget and cannot yet seem to do so.

No blue light filter on Oreo

So me and my wife are pretty disappointed that there's still no blue light filter on the G4, she does a lot of night reading on it before bed so having the blue filter on Nougat (via night mode enabler by Mike Evans) was a big deal.
I was under the impression that Oreo was the first Android release that "officially" had a blue light filter feature, so I'm pretty confused about why it's not there other then the fact motorola probably doesn't genuinely care enough to add it.
But anyway, does anyone know of a way to enable it simular to Nougat? I can't find anything about it or I'm just missing it. I did see I'm not the only one looking for a way, so hopefully someone has an idea.

I'm having the same issue after updating yesterday to 8.1. No nite mode anywhere. So I googled and found what seemed like a reasonable workaround.... add the UI Tuner category to Settings by long pressing the Settings cog in the quick menu. However, I then found that did nothing. No UI Tuner, unlike when I had it on 7.0. The idea was to install the UI Tuner, then download Nite Mode from the Play Store.
So, I downloaded the UI Tuner from the Play Store, only to find it was weird. It didn't place an icon on my homepage or in Apps or the App Drawer. It was supposed to put the UI Tuner category in Settings under System, but it didn't. It did place a sort of icon on my homepage so I pressed it and got the UI Tuner list. However when I tested out a couple functions on it, they didn't seem to do anything. So, another feature Motorola decided to leave off the Moto G4 (I have a G4 Plus), the UI Tuner.
You might try these things and see if they work for you. Unfortunately they were of no help to me. I called Motorola, spoke to a 2nd Level Tech. He knew nothing about it and kept repeating my issue back to me as they like to do. So we scheduled a 3rd level tech to call tomorrow, who will no doubt tell me to factory reset the phone, which of course won't help and would be a lot of work for nothing.
I tried one of the 3rd party filter apps, but didn't like it. Guess I'll try a couple others.

Sciecane Notification Access Issues

I've been searching endlessly to no avail and really hope someone on here can help, as I'm running out of hair to remove. I bought a Sciecane 9" unit for my 2009 Forester, and while Ive been playing around with different launchers, one thing remains annoyingly consistent. Every time any app requests notification access ( for music stuff, by in large), I get " This feature is not available on this device". Like, what? This pretty much renders a lot of functionality useless with different launchers, which stinks because the one it ships with is so barebones. Does anyone have any suggestions of why this is happening or how to fix it?
Thanks a million in advance,
Alex.
Notifications are dealt with usually by the SystemUI. No launcher will bring you this feature back. SystemUI is part of the Android system image and cannot be exchanged/modified easily.
Ask your dealer for an update that brings back the Notification feature as it is known from all the Android devices.
Or you try a Custom ROM like Hal9k if your device is a MTCB/D/E device.
