Hello everyone this is my first thread so show me love. ??
Contact pictures. What is going on with that.? We get a small picture rounded on the left and the whole screen the first letters and some random colour.
Is it just for me? Any way to make the contact picture shown in the big section of the screen?
Also another question. We don't have voice recorder, do we?
Hey I have the same issue... Maybe its because the contact automatically links with the contact of whatsapp or another account and the the picture became the circle in the left... Anyway, did you find a solution??
Nothing. It just seems so wrong to have random colours and letters on the big section of the screen and the contact picture in a small circle

It is really annoying to have high-def pictures in contacts (contacts in phone do show big pretty pics), but whenever I call somebody - or receive a call - only this little circle in the lower left corner appears.
Running 6.0 btw, not rooted.

To be honest, the best solution I've found so far: Use the Google Dialer instead of the Xperia Dialer. At least it displays everything as it should

Does it really override the stock dialer? I've tried exDialer and tis only changes the gui.
I always had it like that, on xperia z it was like that.

Works for me. All I did is change the default Xperia dialer (it's called "Contacts") for the Google one ("Phone")
Settings / Apps / you click on the small gear in the upper right corner / Default Apps / Phone app
Now whenever I make or receive a call, the Google Dialer is used instead of the Xperia one

Thanks, I tried the latest non-RC release on APK mirror but did'nt install then I tried the last RC and it seems to be working fine. I can't understand why sony doesn't have a nicer incoming call screen.
Actually from lollipop version google starts uploading contacts image in hd or full hd to there server depends your phone resolution.
Im earlier using Xperia z1 compact and because that is only hd resolution I also got small circle image in all my contacts.
Sollution is again edit each and every contact and add new image on it. After Sync google upload full hd image to google server and afterwards you will never get small image circle.

Works almost perfect. But I've just encountered the issue that I'm not able to initiate a conference any more. When I try to establish the second call, it just returns to the active call screen. Do you have the same problem?
The problem appears to be a problem with Xperia contacts app. I went back to Lollipop and can get full screen caller photo but it goes away when I OTA update to Mashmellow.

It's all set before, regardless it just appears as a round icon. We have to repeat this procedure again and again without any need on other dialer or phone.

That's bad. A lot of pictures were taken with the mobile camera and don't exist anymore. Guess I have to extract them from the google website, transfer them to my phone and assign them again and again and again and... This is absolutely annoying. One more reason to regret bying a mobile that's been altered with vendor specific softcrap.

Yes, it's a real pain. I gave up as I had to send my phone for repair and when I setup again, I have to repeat the process [emoji16]

Hey guys,
I hate the tiny Windows Mobile standard screen for "incoming call", so I looked for a program who shows me incoming calls with a bigger screen.
I found "icaller", but the program didn't work on my Xperia, the caller information and the picture were not at the middle of the screen.
So i fixed the problem and modified the program a bit.
Fixed the position problem
Made the font bigger
Put caller information on the top
Xperia style screen when contacts without pictures call you
SU2U (ipod style) background for calling information
The features of the program are the same like in the non-edit version.

I just edit the style, so i can't help you if you have problems with iCaller. If you have, please ask the developer.

I uploaded a german (just working on german Windows Mobile!) and an english version. I didn't test the english version on my Xperia, so if the english version doesn't work, tell me and I will try to fix the problem. Don't forget to take a look at the readme and the settings!
As far as I know there are problems if you use iCaller and CallerID at the same time, so please turn off CallerID when you use this program.

This program is compatible with TF3D (cab version), I tested it! No matter which style you use. I don't know if it's compatible with the rom version, because I don't use it.

i had the same problem. it wouldnt let me answer the phone calls, just lets me reject them.

Now I'm trying to get the Caller ID picture to be either screen-wide or non-repetetive, but so far, no luck. I created a picture that has exactly the same size as the provided "NoCallerPicture.png", but that doesn't make a difference.

Be care that the caller picture stored by outlook in the agenda is reduce in size so you need to create a folder named "caller picture" with pictures inside named by phone number. In this way, Icaller will open first the good resolution picture intead of the reduce one from outlook.

If you are using google sync , u need to transfer contacts to phone memory.
I just discovered how to apply HQ contact pics as shown in some SE website photos.
At first , it could be done by editing contacts from SE sync service which is no longer available.
So, the alternate solution is a pc software named mobiledit. You can set full screen photos as your contact pic.
Edit: I found that the pic shows best in the timescape app but it doesn't appear/ appears after sometime in Timescape widget , probably 'coz it cannot load the oversized pic. But you can resize the pic to low res and then set it.

The Best Part about this is, The Image is actually saved in the VCF file (Contact Card), So you dont have to keep it in the Phone memory. Earlier days, You had to keep the Photo in Phone memory, and It shows up in the gallery as well. Those days are gone it seems.
Even when browsing through the contacts, The image is displayed vividly across the header.
So, What is the Correct Image Size for a Contact Picture ?
Its -> 3264 x 1990 (pixels). Resize Any Image of your choice, and Transfer it to the SD card. Open the Contacts Application and Browse for the Image using the Gallery or a File Explorer. Once You add the Image, You can delete it from the memory.

U have to download full mobiledit and then connect ur phone. Go to contacts in mobiledit , double click on a contact, click change photo and select any photo. See title bar , click on write. Ur done!!

Walkman updated this morning (was on existenz3.3.0) the new look is stylish but I hate that you cant seem to remove all the music unlimited rubbish now.
My gallery didnt show as needing updating but i used the file posted in the apps forum and it worked fine, nice that they have some more views now (including folder view) but they still really need to allow sorting of images/folders and setting default views. Ill stick with quickpic for now.
Now running Slimbean for LB and you can still install the walkman and gallery ok on non sony ROMs. Removed them though until they get better.

u can download the apps from the post linked in the bottom of first post, are not mine, alone_in_dark posted for u

I'm more concerned not about that certain update, it may be sign that something is wrong with some other things, not the album app itself.
I updated both apps through update center, there this problem when I run album and go to settings it just opens an empty screen! is this a bug?!

This doesnt happen to me....i would suggest you to restart your phone once and if that doesnt help, try uninstalling the update and do a fresh install again.

I'm on it, created a pre-rooted ROM for testing/checking.
In a few hours I have time to test it myself
Only Vodafone CDA's were updated... and the update itself is only incremental.
Unless CE1 is updated too and there is no serious changelog, there is no need to excite and update the phone. It's my opinion

Every picture (not every actually) is showed in a little circle on the left corner of the screen during a call... it wasn't like this 2 updates ago, it's a minor bug I know but I liked when it was fullscreen

Well first every picture is showed in a little circle, but (seconds) later it wil show "fullscreen"... Maybe it has something to do with the full (quality) pictures having to be cached before they are shown?

Low-res pictures are shown as small circles... I assume Sony did that so these pictures doesn't look ugly.
I also liked the previous function but I had to get used to these circles or... update the photos as hi-res pictures are shown correctly
I know how it works with low res pictures and high res pictures, I'm saying that even the high res pictures after a while (maybe after some reboot) turnout into low res pictures... it wasn't like this 2 updates ago, now for me doesn't work, if I downgrade... everything works fine.

Oh, ok... that's clear for me now! So you are right, that IS a minor bug. Unfortunately I don't have such problem, every contact picture is showed as it should, there are no "self-conversions" from fullscreen to small circle, and also I have no little circles as I already updated every contact with proper picture. The circles I had were only a result of crappy facebook pictures importing.

Get a hi-res photo of your the person you want to edit a contact of (that's pretty obvious ), enter the edit mode and just add a photo to that contact by tapping that small square-ish thing on the top left.

I'm pretty sure the bug is fixed, it hasn't happened to me once after the update. Maybe I'm not noticing it? Before it was very noticeable, anyone would have noticed it, after the 232 update it was completely fixed imo.

Excuse me, what's that problem?? The only one problem I got with brightness is that screen will suddenly bighter then go to dim (before 5 seconds of sleep timer).

Second navigate to the third phone setting.
Third scroll all the way down to the circled setting. This sitting right here will get you where you need to be to enable Smart call feature.

Don't think this worked. I have the same menu turned it on but the actually seeing it work I dont see it
What is this supposed to do? I looked it up and on Samsungs description page it's totally different. I haven't seen any difference with this.
Something else must be missing.

This did not work for me. Then today I was poking around in the settings and got it to work. I went into Applications in settings and then in the top right enabled system apps. I scrolled down to smart caller ID and clicked it. I went to permissions and enabled contacts.
Anyway an hour later I got a call from a family member from their home phone. I do not have this persons name saved in my phone. It said their first, last, and middle initial right on the screen. I was like wow it's working. So naturally I went into package disable pro and turned it off LOL. I tested it again with the same caller and this time it didn't show their caller ID, only their phone number. I tried to re enable the feature and have not been able to get it back since. If someone can try these steps and see how it works, maybe we can figure it out.
Kept messing with settings and it started working again. Rebooted and it went away.
My phone doesn't even have smart caller ID in the app manager area. I did follow the OP and enabled it so we'll see. I'm not rich hopeful but we'll see

You have to enable system apps.

Mine doesn't have that in applications. Not even after enabling system apps. Must be third party installed app you have there.
Okay use the app from the OP and search for "smart" and smart caller ID will show up. Click it and then create. Then on the home screen click the newly created shortcut and it should enable permissions for smart caller ID. Then try.
I've tried it multiple ways and I don't see a "smart caller" anything either. Total crap Verizon! Any way someone can extract it?

Seh6183, I know what "Smart Caller" looks like and is spelled lol. It's simply not existing on my phone. Same app, same search....

Looks like they really stripped the Verizon variant down. I have a request out in the international forums to have someone give me their phone apk. Hopefully someone responds.
