Vibrate during meeting annoyance - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I like to have my phone automatically go to vibrate mode during a calendar appointment. I've done this automatically with Tasker on the last 6 or 7 phones I've owned, and it's worked perfectly. However, on this phone when it goes into vibrate mode it briefly vibrates, and when it comes out of vibrate mode it makes the voice command beep sound. I've tried a couple apps from the app store that are supposed to perform this task instead of using tasker, and the apps have the same problem. It's frustrating because it makes me think there's a notification or I accidentally activated voice command. The problem is not with tasker.
My question is this: Is there any way to stop the phone from vibrating/beeping, when coming in and out of vibrate mode? I don't understand what is different about this phone than my previous phones (LG V10, G4, G3, Samsung GS4, etc.).

Phone wont vibrate for text message

I just noticed today, that my Nexus one wont vibrate when i receive text messages. I first thought it might of been Handcent SMS so i deleted that and started to use stock. Yet the problem continues. I checked the settings and i have it set to always vibrate. Any fix around this?
make sure that you have vibrate checked in settings for the messaging application. other than that, i think sometimes apps mess around with the vibrate settings. try the app Sound Manager from the market place and then in the context menu they have a vibrate setting. if it's not already selected, which explains what's been going on, select "vibrate whenever possible." that's what worked for me...
I had this problem with 2.2 on my G1, would vibrate sometimes then would never vibrate again.
I think it must be possible to burn out the motor that makes the vibration.
Do you use any apps that vibrate heavily often?
Use Ringo Lite. Works for me. You can even set a vibrate pattern.
I had a similar problem except i had no vibrations; all settings squared away, hard reset, basic troubleshooting. Turned out the motor burned out. Sent it to HTC and they repaired it for me.

Disabling vibration for a single app

Hello folks,
Since upgrading to the S4 from my S4, I seem to be having a very odd and annoying issue.
I normally have Touchdown which I use for email set to notify via sound and light only, however when I set my GS4 to vibration mode, and despite not changing my touchdown settings, the phone vibrates for new emails.
My research has shown that yes, you can disable vibration altogether (system wide) to avoid this but I want to know if there is a way to ONLY get Touchdown not to vibrate on new email when the phone is set to vibration mode.
Thanks for your input!

I just got an upgrade to my Sprint S3 to 4.3. Now I have this problem. Did you discover a solution?
More info: currently, my email notifications in Touchdown are set to custom sound and vibrate off. When the phone is in normal sound, I don't get a vibration and get my custom sound. When the phone is in vibrate, then I get a vibrate notification for my email. I suspect that there is a way to do this via "Blocking Mode", but I don't want to put the phone in and out of that every time I turn on vibrate.
Thanks.

Nope.
Pretty sure it's a system wide thing in Android as it seems to apply to other apps as well.
Which sucks.
That does indeed suck. I'm going to try using "Blocking Mode", but it's still a bit more universal that I want.

disable vibration when phone enters silent mode

This has been driving me crazy for the last couple of weeks -
When my S7 Edge goes into silent or night mode, the device vibrates - and when it enters normal mode, it plays a notification sound.
How to disable these notifications?
I have been using custom ROMs for the last month, have been with Renovate for most of that time.
I have a tasker profile set up, to enter silent mode if there is a busy appointment in my calendar, and to enter normal mode once the appointment ends.
I have used the same profile on different phones in the past - but not Samsung ones - and I never got these notifications. There is nothing in Tasker which configures this, it must be somewhere in the device Settings.
It's similar to the "notify on call connection" option, which I located and disabled - but I just can't track this one down.
Any ideas?

Vibration notifications

For some reason I cant stop my notifications from vibrating when my phone is in vibrate mode. Its been a while but Im pretty sure in the past on my S7 I was able to have my notifications muted if my phone was in vibrate mode (except for texts and calls). I only want my phone to vibrate when I receive a call or a text if I am in vibrate mode. Otherwise I want all other notification sounds and vibration silent/muted/no vibrate when I have the phone in vibrate mode. This may have changed with a recent OTA update, currently on PE1. Am I missing something?
1) In settings/Sound and Vibration, Vibrate while ringing is checked and actually grayed out, I cannot unselect it. Which is fine because I want it to vibrate when ringing unless I mute the phone.
2) In Email notifications, notifications are on, but Vibrate is turned off and actually grayed out, I cannot turn it on. I have 3 email accounts setup through the built in Email app and all 3 are set to the same thing. Yet, it still vibrates when I get a notification.
I thought I had this figured out but apparently not. I ONLY want phone and texts to vibrate my phone when in vibrate mode. I want all other notifications muted. I have email vibration turned OFF but it still vibrates, along with most other notifications. Since I have 3 email accounts set up on my phone, this is quite annoying. What am I missing? Does vibrate mode make everything vibrate even if I have vibrate turned off on nearly all apps?
Try using do not disturb instead. You can customize it to allow phone and text messaging to go thru, and mutes everything else
Vibrate mode means vibrate. Why would you expect it not to vibrate when you use a setting called "Vibrate"?

Do Not Disturb mode....does still disturb?!

I've put Do Not Disturb mode on when I'm driving, so that I don't get disturbed by notifications (e.gm whatsapp, Facebook, messages) popping up in bubbles at the top of the screen.
It's simply doesn't work - they still pop up! (albeit it doesn't vibrate).
I've selected the "hide visual notifications" option (see screenshot) but it doesn't work either way.
Anyone else have this issue? Any potential solutions?
Mine still give audible notifications in the night when it should be on do not disturb!
I have a much larger issue. My Galaxy S8+, I will turn on the setting to keep alarms on, one night it will work and the next night it won't so my alarm never goes off in the morning. Therefore I stopped using DND, turned all the setting to off even deleted the days it will operate to none and the setting STILL comes on every night at 1030. I go in to check my settings and they are all back on to the day before. Android is starting to get pretty poor with its updates.
if your display is on and in an app while in dnd calls will still come through if youre display is off they will not come through if youre display is on but not in an app the calls will not come through. No work around i can find as of now
This is so typically Samsung.. They finally fixed it, but only when the screen is off and when on the home screen
Ugh.. My Do Don't Disturb is dysfunctional.
If I'm listening to an audio book, watching Netflix or jamming to my tunes and someone calls what ever I'm listening to/watching pauses while the phone silently rings that's B.S. DND means exactly that DND. All calls should go straight to VM. when DND mode is on. Otherwise I can just turn the darn ringer off. DND is worthless.
For me works well. Only when the screen is off, like iPhone. Have you make the settings propperly? Because you can put if you want that calls don't show on screen.
A similar issue was fixed by hard-reset. Have you tried a factory reset? Factory reset stepMod Edit
Is there still no fix to this?
It seems like a pretty important malfunction and is super frustrating every night.
Anyone manage to get it working properly using Tasker?
On my S4, then S6 Edge I had a Tasker profile to turn on Do Not Disturb automatically when I plug my phone in to charge at night, and it worked a treat.
Not with the S8, no matter what I try, it still vibrates and activates the LED notification, even though it is showing as Do Not Disturb mode on, and in the settings I have ticked all the options to hide notifications when the screen is on, and off, and set no exceptions, or alarms only with the same result.
Any ideas?
