Whine about Marshmallow update here. - Xperia Z5 General

Please stop whining about the update in other places except here.

Nope, nothing but happy at the moment.
Phone is now what it should have been at launch, fast, not laggy, camera launches fast from lock screen. Fingerprint sensor works much better
Though maybe it just seemed/felt that way so I downloaded Antutu and got 88945, was lucky with the phone same apps etc installed to get 70000

I don't have mm yet. Can I please not complain as I do like my phone as it is? I know there's some bugs and **** and camera controls are still a far cry from my 3yo dslr but I simply don't care and enjoy my lollipop z5.

There is no need for this thread as there is a thread dedicated to the marshamallow update here.
As the OP mentions in the above thread:
Also, when the update is out, would be cool to have everyone post their comments and experiences in this thread, keeping it tight!

So far so good. This rom is amazing! Thumbs up to Team Hacksung!
I'm really enjoying CyanogenMod 10, although I'm really missing having some of the tablet mode apps from ParanoidAndroid! That said, Google Now is incredible and I haven't encountered many glitches aside from rotation being reversed and LED Torch not being able to be a toggle.

Hmm...I might be wrong, but I thought that this was just a discussion thread. If the devs want to toss their hats into the ring here, that's their choice, but I didn't think that the goal of this thread was to force their hand or make them respond to our issues; I thought it was just to chit-chat about CM10 so that we don't clog up the development thread. Just my two cents.

From my experience, sometimes yes and sometimes no. A really polished CM9 will speed right past this, but Jelly Bean can really shine here and there, and as the devs complete the ROM I'm sure Project Butter will make it super, super speedy.

The smoothness does seem inconsistent (maybe because of the RAM issues) but it always feels more responsive to touch input IMO. When scrolling for example, it'll stick closer to your finger. And the recents panel comes up nearly instantly. When GPS is fixed, I think it could be a daily driver for me. Google Now is pretty sweet too!

Yeah, the RAM issues need work, but I get what you mean by touch responsiveness. I had noticed it felt a little bit different...

It would be nice if the title of the CM10 Preview thread was dated/changed when a new preview build is available.
I'm sure there are several people who tried the ROM found it missing something they needed, and would like to check back in when the new preview is available.
Yes, I know, you can get in, and read the first post. But it would be nice to quickly see, in the subscribed topics, if you need to visit the thread or not.

Does anyone have the issue of RILJ hogging up cause my phone not being able to deep sleep?
Has anyone else had problems with palm rejection? Doesn't seem to work for me (preview 2). Read through the main thread and could not find anything.

Known issue

Just got this delay notice from Motorola due to the storm.

Hi Douglas,
As you may have heard, large parts of the United States are being hit by winter storm Dion. Our factory in Fort Worth, Texas as well as domestic shipping companies are already feeling the impact.
Fortunately, we have several contingencies in place and we’re still working to get your custom Moto X to you as quickly as possible. However, there may be a 1-2 day delay from the original estimate we provided on your order.
We’ll send you a shipment confirmation email, along with a FedEx tracking number, as soon as your order is complete.
Thanks for your Moto X purchase - and for your patience.
Sincerely,
The Moto Maker Team

I'm not stopping you from doing anything. I'm just wondering why do we need to know what happened to your shipping.

It really was not about my shipping, I guess I should have removed my name to be more clear. This applies to all motomaker orders the way I understand the email. I thought people would be interested in that because everyone is anxious to receive thier phone and if there is a delay they would know the reason for it. You are free to remove this thread if you find it useless.

Waiting patiently for a thread to be started about how times people take a dump, I think there's more useless, redundant threads for the moto than any other phone thread on xda. OK there's a lack of real development but come on people , that doesn't mean you can start a useless thread to make up for real info. My rant is over. No its not, you try to help someone and its almost impossible to info because useless threads and duplicate threads are popping up like zits. OK I'm done now

I know! I mean, since his shipment is the only one in the entire U.S. that might be affected by shipping delays due to a major winter storm affecting a significant portion of the country, there couldn't possibly be a point in his posting it in a public forum.

Don't feel bad. I've only been on Android for a year and I found out about it from your post since I wasn't "born" with the knowledge and never ran across one of these tips about it. I guess it's hard to Google something you don't yet know is there to Google. Seriously, don't be dicks to him, guys; it kind of discourages people from wanting to share anything at all.

Just check the thread now! It will be under moderation because the guy who replied to the query was not having any idea of Android Nougat update for Kenzo, he is an intern mod (new recruitment) So please don't post further regarding Android N update, as I told in several threads and forums, if Kenzo gets Android N I will be updating it here as soon as possible. Yeah I am agreeing your view in a partial manner but there are some good moderators also who work really hard to bring a lot of useful things to the end user, there is beta and alpha programs which are purely managed by mods in which you can find lot of new additions and bug fixes. Those mods won't post frequently and you won't see them active in forum but they all are in touch with devs and beta/alpha team members. Myself I retired from the mod position due to the lack of time for posting useful stuffs rather than posting "Thank you" or Answering queries to some stupid users who never change. But still I can find some good mods like @Muz_paray, @feds64, @veerasuri etc who really work hard for the betterment.

I created Miui forum ac to get official unlock permission. It's a shame that to check the tutorials, you have to reply with a spam "thank you" post. Is this 2000? Mi need members to spam the forum? I can go on with these things but it's waste of time. Everyone is this world knows how good is Mi forum. Check Xiaomi reddit if you need some good laugh, people make fun of the posts including me (can't hide it). Whenever I'm bored and have nothing..I mean nothing else to do in my life, instead of checking jokes or memes I visit Mi forum.
Examples?

I can go on with this......... Pure gold
FYI: I did joined the beta team for fun to see how the beta team actually works. It was more funny than I imagined. You have to sign up with qq to discuss the bugs. Jokes apart what the beta team members do? Hw 2 flsh rems? haaalp me unlaackk boatlders, volte dooontntntnt weeerk.
Seriously, Mi hire such fools to do beta test? Probably, that's why MIUI can never be a stable OS. I also know this veerasuri super moderator, had a wonderful chat with him and asked him to remove me from the beta group. What was his response? I can't tell you else he will think I'm a bit offensive here but it was fun too.
I'm glad we have xda else people would've died checking Mi forums. As I said, I respect you for what you did, only cause of you (unofficial unlock recovery method or something I dont remember now) I managed to survive with a Mi phone else it would've been sold within a month. That's my love towards MIUI OS. Nothing against the moderators, even I was a moderator here at xda, got busy with life so retired but I can understand the moderator's pain.

feb update

Just got my February update. Disabled location, cleared cache in Google services framework and then checked for update.
Great.
Honestly WE DON'T CARE. You don't need to make a post everytime you achieve something in life. "Hey guys, just bought a new pair of shoes".
Do you want to flood Mi A1 forums with the post of hundreds of people just telling "yep, I just received a normal update, nothing special"?

I agree. These posts are useless. That's why it's Android One. There will be updates. Hope the mods close all threada similar to this and leave one thread open.
Time for backup, thanks for info.
How do you even come to a decision "I should make a thread to say i got a security update!"
THIS IS NOT MIUI FORUM! Please search and post in already existing thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/february-update-t3743872) of the same!
Damn that hate tho, you'd be a lot happier if this was Reddit with the downvote, the man opened a thread to share info, it helped me, it will help others, it's a question n answer forum ffs.
Edit: where's the crying Cartman gif
It's NOT about "hating" it's that people seems so bloody eager to flood the forums with similar threads!
There are already at least two-three different "feb udate threads" if not even more...
Try: 1. search, 2. browsing around for two minutes!

I disagree and I thank the OP once again for giving me info and exact steps he used. I haven't seen another thread and I'm an average visitor of this subforum, why would I use search? Why would I even think about Feb update? I was thinking about it yesterday, not today, but this post reminded me, for which I'm thankful. OP posted a thread on a subforum, I saw it, others will too, no need for salt, if you really want the post to go down, just don't post a reply and magically the post will dissapear.
Edit: there's a factor of SEO, calling the thread differently will make sure that people searching different terms on Google will run into threads like this. It's 2018, searching for anything will instantly spoonfeed you, why not for mi a1 topics?
I got it too! Without stopping services and broking the phone!
And NOONE REALLY Care!!!
Stop posting stupid threads!
Please use the search button before making same topic. We already have an active thread for this. Please save xda from the same crap that is happening in the Mi Forums.
At least my phone notifies me when the update is available...
Regardless of pointless and repetive threads.
Thread closed as it goes nowhere.
Also there are many thread regarding the same topic
@[OP] please search before posting.

Vatsal.
