Glad it helps. The only thing missing is root. Love to have more apps running in split screen.

did you plan to update this app in the future when people cannot get update from Play Google?

Lost preloaded game

Hi all,
I had to petform a factory reset tonight of my tab but noticed Nova is missing. Is there any way to obtain this again as it was preloaded on the tab by Samsung?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Strange
I was concerned about this as I like the game however after a factory reset today it's still there.
Interesting. The US Tab only comes with a Asphalt5 HD trial. I have yet to purchase Nova due to it not being offered through the market. I'm kinda jealous of you guys.
I didn't get anything on my german tab

Ah yes, Asphalt5. Does the version you get with the US Tab work well? The version I get from the market leaves a white stripe along the top of the screen (maybe 1.5cm), with all the buttons shifted by a relative amount.
It runs nice and smoothly, and it's actually quite playable nonetheless, just that it's not using the top of the screen. I've tried both with and without the Spare Parts Fullscreen trick, and it makes no difference.
I'm using the german tab and had none of the games preinstalled. However, if you really want asphalt and nova running full screen, you could head over to the gamesloft website and purchase them there. The galaxy tab version is listed for both. You will get an sms from them with a download link after you've made your purchase. FYI, I have both games running beautifully on my tab.

I'm really not interested in the full version, but if someone could maybe put up the .apk for the trial version of Asphalt5 that comes with the US Tab, I'd appreciate that.

Netflix app running on Google IO Tab 10.1 ????

Hey all. Just got back from from Google IO yesterday with my new Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I was really happy to see Netflix available for a number of phones, including my Droid Incredible. Did a quick test yesterday and it seems to work great.
I'm at work today, went into the Android Market web site and went to the Netflix app site. Clicked Install and it came up with a list of devices to install to. One of them was Samsung GT-P7510 (my Tab 10.1)!!!!!! It let start the install, saying it would install on the selected device. Unfortunately, my 10.1 is at home so I can't see if this actually worked.
Can someone with the Google I/O 10.1 tab try to install Netflix through the Android Market website?
PLEASE WORK!
-Gregg
Sorry - false alarm. I called home and had someone test it. The netflix app did install, but when it's opened it says it's an incompatable device.
Oh well - maybe someday soon.

The app opens...its a tablet interface looks really good, unfortunately when you click a video it says device not supported
heres how to modify your build.prop file to make it work. I havent personally done this yet but if you have root this should work.

can someone try that? ^^
Tried modifying the build.prop with the Galaxy S method. Sadly it didnt work for me.

It seems like it's mostly because of the CPU. Since the 10.1 was given at Google I/O. I wouldn't be surprised if the first supported tablets would be the Xoom and Galaxy Tab.

Nope didn't work either. Maybe it is looking at other things - like the OS version?

No luck for me... but I'm not rooted. Anybody with a rooted tab want to try the apks in the link above out?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium App
Does not work on a rooted I/O tab. I get an error about being unable to communicate with the server. I think it has to do with an OS version check server side, but that's really just a guess.

Market 3.4.4 - Notice a speed boost too

You can find it HERE
Anyone else notice the speed and looks on the Tab are improved?
I'm a big fan of this update.
I like the update but it is not tablet optimized on my galaxy tab

Much quicker on my Galaxy Nexus, thanks for the link.

I have it on my phone and my Tab. It works great. A lot of ROMs have the older Market that was for phones too. Doubtful you have ANY issues with it.

Would you put up a screenshot? The last time I updated my market it was junk in landscape mode, and it didn't override the old market, I had both on the tab.

I'm having that same exact issue right now. Did you find a resolution? I was thinking of trying to uninstalling the old market, but wasn't sure if that is possible or if that would cause FC when launching the new market. Thanks.

I sent a tweet this AM with a pic, though it was in portrait. @CallipH
I had no issues with two markets... not sure what to say about that issue. It took about 1 minute to download, select, install, open market, enjoy it.
If you are roored just freeze the stock market with Titanium....
The version of market I already have looks exactly the same as this, only it actually fits my screen properly I installed it and on the main page it had a black line down either side In landscape. I went back to my old version because that fills the whole screen.
Damn, whats wrong with Google? This market, same as 3.311 and 3.312, keeps force closing on the GT10.1... The last one working properly on the tablet was 3.1.6

yea, i'm rooted. i'll freeze the stock market. thanks!
Task included 3.3.12 on Task 8.0 and it works fine in all modes on my Galaxy Tab. Clear app data from market and then delete the old Vending.apk from system/app. That should stop the force closing.
It seems, that the rom was responible for the force closes. I had a Stock rom w/o touchwiz and flashed Tasks 8.0 yesterday, now the force closes are gone. Damn, I hate Touchwiz. I hoped that this rom would make it to the first ICS release :-/
I rooted with this guide, it was quick and easy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krQDP7xYlWg
Then I froze the original Market app with Titanium and installed the new one no probs. Its defo faster and snappier than the original but its softer and blurrier than the original on a screen this size. defo seems optimised for a phone instead of a tablet.

Grand Theft Auto III (On Sale until 29th Dec) £1.99

Just downloaded this game and it is absolutely amazing!!!
Especially with the fact that it's on sale at £1.99... I think the normal price is closer to £5!!!
Definitely worth the buy!!!
Sweet I downloaded it illegally off the net, because couldn't buy it, but love the game so just bought it from the market no its available :-D
I have strange lag spikes (lags for few seconds) while playing and on cut scenes.
Not sure why though

Not sure either mate, it's running absolutely perfectly on my Note.
I'm at work at the moment and all of my colleagues are playing on it and saying how amazed they are with the graphics and the fact that it plays as good, if not better than on the old PS2!!!
I can't believe they have squeezed the whole game into such a small file! It's absolutely crazy! All of the missions and all of the fun! Loving it so much! I can't imagine playing it on a smaller screen than the Note though! Feeling sorry for my iphone colleagues!!!
Also works fine on my Note, brought it yesterday for £3.20, so not a major price drop. Bring back memory of play it on PS2 during my university days.

Small File?
Initial Download is about 30MB, and then it loads another 450MB or so . .
about 500MB all in all.
CD size.
Guys, how do you get to play it if market says it's incompatible with Note? I bought it using the web version of the market and selecting galaxy tab it had on my profile that i used to have but no longer do but how do i get it on the note?

If both your Tab and Note are rooted, you can do a Titanium backup of GTA on the Tab, copy over the backed up files to Note and do a
restore using Titanium again.
You just need to download the extra 450mb file the 1st time launching GTA on the Note.
P.S. your Note might be incompatible if you changed screen density from stock 320.

Apologies... I guess it's subjective... I have movie files that are bigger than that and I suppose with the internal 16gb (aware that some of that is taken up by the system) and my external 32gb micro SD card, it doesn't seem large at all for what you get! That game will provide me with hours of fun!

You probably don't play video games that much. Recent downloads off of Steam include the Witcher 2 (12 - 15gb) and Homefront (11gb). 500mb is a bit more than a DVD rip. Quite small really

Ok, I've linked a screenshot of what I see when I log into my Android Market... GNote shows up as: "3 Samsung GT-N7000" I'm guessing the "3" part is related to the fact that I have a "3" sim card in my note, although I bought it carrier free from Expansys. It's a long shot, but could it have something to do with the name that it registers as? I wonder this because you said that yours just says "N7000"
I don't have sound
Works fine on my Note here although the day after I downloaded it, it had disappeared completely from my Marketplace. It is showing again now though.
I am running at screen density 240, plus I installed the high res/gfx file. All you need to do is go into settings and adjust the on screen controls because they shrink and end up in the middle of the screen. You can move them back to the corners and also double tap to enlarge them. Screen is still plenty big to enjoy the game, the controls do not get in the way, and the high res pack is a MUST for the Note!

Flipboard tablet .apk

Hi,
there is said to be a tablet version for 7" tablets.
Could someone of you install Flipboard and mail me the apk?
Thanks a lot!
(You can save the apk file with FileExpert for example)
I'm not aware of any tablet versions of Flipboard. Do you have any references?
I wrote them and they said they have a 7" version.
If you mean that the devs told you that directly, then they should also be able to tell you where to get it, and I'd imagine that they would make it available on the Play Store. I'm going to assume that you asked them something along the lines of "Is there a version of Flipboard for 7" tablets?" and they said yes, but what they really meant was that Flipboard works on 7" tablets and there's only one version.
I do not want to discuss this further.
If anyone has it, I would really appreciate if she/he could send it to me.
End of story
No discussion needed, just ask the dev again.... then u know for sure because I also think they misunderstood u....

I guess it may not be downloadable/available in certain countries.

Yeah I just tested it and it's portrait only at the moment. On the bright side--cool app! Never tried it before.
It looks like 7" is where they draw the line between phone and tablet currently and tablets arent supported yet. As a new user I cant post links here yet but if you go to the official flipboard support page and enter searchterm "tablet" you can see where i got this from and add your voice to the requests.
There is a workaround using some rotation control app but feel free to add to the thread asking for a tablet version.
