Dial *#*#7378423#*#* on the keypad to enter the service info and then check (sim lock) (network) , if there is a "X" mark in the square box on the left then it is locked. The number to the extreme right indicates the number of tries left.
Post results here, preferably with a screenshot.

Your phone has a netlock. Contact the seller of the phone

Unfortunately the phone is Network locked, and there are two possibilities to unlock it:
1. Ask the UK operator, it should be for free if the phone has been under contract but has been payed fully
2. Buy the unlock code, it doesn't come cheap, I've been reading on this community about and many have recommended this htccode.com

I already buyed the code from same store where the phone was buyed, but its not accepting it...
My other option is to send it back to the store, but i don`t wana wait 1-2 mounths for the phone to come back...
If i change the rom it is posible to work or even to accept the code?

Don't keep entering the number because you have only 5 tries, after that it cannot be recovered. No changing the Rom will not do anything.
I'm very sorry but I don't see any other possibility.
I remember one time I sim unlocked a galaxy note 2 of At&t without a code, if you want to take a look on that solution I will leave you the link, maybe you can replicate the same on Xperia Z.
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...317-att-samsung-galaxy-note-2-on-jelly-bean-4

The counter is already down to 0. It won't accept any code. I'm sorry to say that but there's not much you can do about it

Orange ROMs lock more than the basic phone functions. I unlocked my Tytn II's SIM (Orange France) and I can now make and receive calls with another provider's SIM card. Several orther functions, however, remain lock because descending lists offer only Orange as a choice. I suppose one has to get rid of the Orange ROM and use either the official HTC one or one of the bette cooked ROM.

Cannot unlock HD2 - T-Mobile UK 2010 build

Dear all,
I was faced by an unexpected problem and I will try to relate this to you in this thread. I will also update this thread if i find a solution on how to resolve this issue so maybe I can avoid some head-scratching out there......
- I got an HD2 on T mobile UK was very happy to see it safe and sound home
- I didn't have a sim card in it ....
- booted it ......
- checked out the IMEI number
- Sent it to an IMEI unlock service from Ebay (one of the best)
- The day after, I received an email from the unlock service and guess what?
- NO unlock code! It's unavailable!
- Reason given ..... can't unlock because phone's IMEI is too new so we
so they don't have it in their database
- Didn't discourage myself and tried at least 5 different ones INCLUDING some really prominent sites out there (if you p.m. me will send you the address but I don't want to sound like I am doing some advert cos I am not...)
- 7 unlock services later...... I gave up..... The code is literally unknown and no sim unlock code seems to exist....
- T-Mobile simple told me that I need a 3 month contract to get the unlock code from them .... but the problem is I am outside the UK so that is not an option. Also 3 months not using this HD2 will simply make me go crazy.....
- Tried also HTC, quick reply (very quick indeed). To cut the long story shor I was told that their "universal unlock code" for all worldwide models WON't work on T mobile UK because the codes are changed by this carrier (grrrrrrrr... why?)
So I have to give up using an IMEI type of unlock. THERE MUST be some alternative way of doing it .....
Anyone could guide me on this please? Do I have to use HSPL2 to get rid of the sim lock (and the warranty?)
Thanks to all of you who contribute to this great community a better place......
Regards
Alcatraz
sorry to hear that mate
tmobile uk here aswell
how comes you need it unlocked? if its just to flash ROMs then HSPL2 can do the job for you and it won't invalidate your warranty as the new version provided two options
for example 1.42HSPL (unlocked) and 1.42SPL (original)
so you can change backwards and forwards in case you ever need to use your warranty.
if however you want it so that you can use it with a different operator maybe someone else here can help you

If they can't do it nobody can and then you will have to wait until you IMEI gets on the database.
They unlocked mine in 13 mins.
I unlocked my T-Mobile UK HD2 with the service from eBay. A code was generated in 10mins!!! and it worked!
I had to wait a couple of weeks before buying the code as T-Mobile hadn't released the database (something like that).

WHICH service from Ebay? I USED like 7 of them I tried unlockology and also htc-unlocker which apparently are an authority when it comes to providing "unlock codes in minutes". I repeat that the main problem is that it is a 2010 model.

I think I did not make myself clear. The mobile is LOCKED on T mobile UK. But I am overseas and there is no T Mobile over here.... so I need it SIM UNLOCKED (am I right? )
Secondly I am not quite sure that if I use HSPL2 I would REMOVE the Sim lock (am I correct again?)
Thanks

Correct, HSPL has nothing to do with unlocking the phone. It will allow you to flash another ROM with another CID.
Doing so will not remove your sim lock, what you need to do is get an unlock code (which you have been trying to do)
Quite a few of the noobs seem to think that CID lock and SIM lock are the same thing!

I never implied that ...... I KNOW that they are different .... I was being sarcastic in my reply....
The thing I am not sure about is the CID locks. I know that SIM locks lock you onto a particular carrier... But am not too sure about CID locks. What I was led to understand from the various readings which I bumped into is that a CID lock restricts you onto some particular region. So for example people in Egypt encounter regional-related issues due to CID locks (for e.g GPS not working etc...)

Is this possible?

T-mobile have given me unlock codes for an (HTC) Ameo and a Touch Diamond 2 and both failed. I had to wait nearly 4 weeks in each case and they simply refunded my payment and said that was all they could do! Great customer service!
My experience with unlock-now.com was unbelievably good and I can't speak highly enough of their service.
And no I'm not in their employ!
EDIT. My guess is our friend should have his unlock code by now!

HTC's reply... RE generic unlock codes (factory ones)
Dear all
The fellow people at HTC told me the following RE "generic factory unlock codes......". They basically "DON'T exist" according to HTC Uk. They claim that when the network operator gets hold of the phones, they put in there own sim lock encryption... They do some other disastrous things as well .....such as mucking up the OS and removing apps.....
Dear Sir,
Thank you for contacting us. In regards to Unlocking, I can help you with that. Unfortunately HTC does not have unlocking codes as we supply to different networks, the devices we supply are customised by the network providers accordingly. Hence only the network provider can give you an unlocking code. Thank you for contacting HTC. Best regards, Herald B HTC

So basically they are implying that the htc unlock codes (the factory ones) EXIST... So who you reckon is saying the truth? For some funny reason I am thinking that it's the unlockers, and HTC customer care isn't saying the truth.....cos they wanna keep out of it....

Unlocking X10 Question

A friend of mine has an x10 by vodafone. He recently bought it from their store. He also bought a unlockcode by vodafone (legal). So good, so far!
BUT - when he entered another simcard in the phone to start the unlockprocedure - he put in the pincode instead of the unlockcode. (he is not that technical). After 5 times of trying the phone is now locked for unlocking. One says the phone has now to be unlocked by software meyhod and can not be unlocked by code anymore.
Softwaremethod is not available. Can someone give me any advise how to handle to get the option back to put in the unlockcode again?!
flashing? anything else?
Take it back to the store and get them to do it, if they can't use a simple unlock code then I can't see them being any good with a software method.
sounds like its been accidentally locked you need a PUK key to unlock it ....(if its not stolen..not saying it is!) then the service provider should supply this PUK override code to allow you to change it to a more easiky remembered code

It sucks to see people having problems with unlocking their phones...but wait! here's you're lucky day Follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731240&page=4 and go to post #38 and you'll find the answer. I was one of them who got the phone for a week, tried almost all of the online remote unlocking services and didn't work, bought the manufacturer's code and entered it too many times that the phone counter-blocked itself. Anyway...long story short, I was able to unlock my phone with HTCCode.com. I don't have anything to do with their website, but they were the only place that could unlock my phone, and trust me I had three other buddies from this forum that had the same problem but unlocked the phone with them. If you have any problems, pm and I'll try to help. You should read the thread I sent you first and you'll understand, but if you can't wait, click on the link on post #38 and talk to HTCCode directly. They are friendly and very helpful. Good luck buddy, give me feedback too

Go here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form
Fill in your IMEI number and submit, they will respond to you within 24 hours, but with this bank holiday, it will only be sometime next week. They will send you an email with a 16-digit unlock code.
Be vary careful not to piss about with the unlock code on that screen that appears when you insert another sim card as after 3 failed attempts it locks your phone permanently and then you are screwed. ...like I did. ;-)
Instructions once you have the code is as follows:
- Power on device with a non O2 UK SIM card
- The device shows: "SIM network unlock PIN"
- Enter the unlock code (NCK) for the network lock and press "Unlock"
- Device will pop up a message "Network unlock successful"
If you have already entered a wrong code too many times the phone gets locked permanently. Then again, you are part of the xda community so help is always at hand. You can have your bootloader setpoint-unlocked by a guy here on the forums for 15 quid. Just drop Jinx13 http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4002805 a pm and scope out his website. I made use of his services and can vouch for him.
http://phoneunlockserver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/7-guide-all-xperia-bootloader-unlock-unlock-sim-enable-fastboot/
Hope this helps! ;-)
PS. Even though your sim will then be unlocked to all networks your bootloader will not be, which will limit your future options, so go for it, you know you want to....

Bought Second hand phone - sim network unlock pin?

Hi,
I just purchased an as new unlocked note 4 from someone on gumtree, they have been posting for years so don't think i have a dodgy phone, i sent my brother to pick the phone up from their home while i was working and he said they unlocked the password while he was there.
But i have just tried a couple of sims and i get the message " sim network unlock pin"
I have tried to contact the person but he works away off shore and don't know when he will get back or reply.
Is there a way to get by this and get my sim working?.......i was planning on rooting the phone anyway.
Thanks for any replies!
You will need to get the unlock code because it's locked to a particular network.
You can usually tell which network it's locked to because it has bloatware from that network installed.
Also in the settings on "about phone" tab it should give you some letters at the end of the firmware version which will tell you what network.
Mine was locked to O2 and I used this guy.
Gave me code in a few hours.

Hi, There does not seem to be any bloatware installed from any network....the phone does look like a bought unlocked phone. Maybe the owner has put a sim lock on the phone himself?
download the Samsung Info app from Play Store, it should tell you eveything you need to know(root wont unlock network)and no way the seller put a network lock, in terms of unlocking you'll need the code. Some service providers supply them at no fee and some at a fee, alternatively you have a plethora of online options usually at a small cost to provide code, gl.
