Little off topic but how were you able to unlock Redmi 3 ??? Because even with Xiaomi permission Miunlock doesn't support Redmi 3.

Thank you :highfive: I will sure try it, as soon as I unlock the bootloader!

There is an unofficial version out. Maybe he tried it...

Unlocking seems to be possible now, any improvement on TWRP and Cyanogen on this device ?

Indeed unlocking possible, TWRP available as well, as for CM build, not ready yet.

Good work! I am thinking of buying this device. Is there any possibility of inline kernel building without kernel source from Xiaomi? Maybe this guide would be useful, kumajaya was able to bring source by importing CAF tag and many commits from related developer-friendly devices (YU).

Yep it will be possible. Currently dtb is being extracted. Also Xiaomi will release proper kernel source as they promised.

Did they? I wouldn't bet anything on their promise. Maybe in a year we'll get GPL code, and even after this time, it'll be still incomplete.

Is it a kernel issue to port cm13 instead of cm12.1?

Overview
Pure AOSP for Cancro
Features
- No T-mobile theme engine or Layers, It is just stock AOSP.
- No .dat features

Developer-Preview-1
Working
- Everything (unless I missed something, pretty sure I didn't)
Sources
My codebase is uploading.
GPL stuff:
Kernel used can be found here
Extended Information
I created this for firmware developers, It is for forking stock firmware such as MIUI.
If people choose to use this to port MIUI I obviously cannot stop them, but blah blah, beta software, blah.
This firmware uses the structure everyone loved in KitKat; I will not force anyone to deal with the .dat nonsense that we've all come to know and hate.
The codebase aligns very closely to what Xiaomi uses, and this code-base also aligns with many other vendor firmware.
Thx to: Datagutt, Heheda; co-maintainers :<
Thx to: Firmware developers, the source builders for this device
What is this exactly?

It's pure AOSP, and yes it's good to work on any device that idents as Cancro
It is designed specifically for use with porting firmware, recovery has been modded in source to allow for this more easily as well.
It is easy to build either CAF or deCAF firmware in this build engine, I designed it to be very easy like CyanogenMod and it does accept CM configs.
HOWEVER IT IS AOSP AND NOT SLIMROM OR CYANOGEN I can't stress this enough, It is AOSP

Yes, my build engine is really huge and has multiple GCC forks depending on the firmware used :<
Neat clean stock ROM. Though meant to for porting and etc stuff. But as a user I like it, it's smoooth.
Everything is great except some minor stuff eg: long Wi-Fi turning on time, WCDMA Only mode reset after reboot, CPU frequency control not working proper with stock kernel.
These are minor stuff and I'm not complaining neither asking you to do anything about it.
PS if anybody has a solution for 3G Only reset would be glad.
Hope I can see a 6.0 ROM by you soon
Also, there's a lag between screen and capacitive keys becoming inactive.. say if I turn off screen and the very next second I touch capacitive keys the screen wakes up.

Did Nexus 4 just get AOSP Android Nougat?

I found this on youtube with a link for the ROM...
https://youtu.be/rl9KDnOuYbg
Can this be for real or is it fake?
It's probably fake because the nexus 5 is not getting N.
Definitely fake....video has been posted on august 6, and its not possible to make a ROM for nexus 4 without the AOSP source code for Nougat, which is still being pushed out. How they made it call nexus 4 in the settings ? Probably by changing the init.d file ? I'm not sure how but I guess there is a way to change the phone's model number because that's not a nexus 4. If it was, such a ROM would have been here on xda in the first place.
PS: I hope there soon will be a functional ROM out soon after the AOSP code is out there. Waiting patiently.
Yeh tnx @hk.happy
Is there any stable marshmallow ROM which works smooth and also very efficient.... Maybe similar to the stock 5.1.1?
There are numerous marshmallow roms for mako; personally speaking, I've been using Chroma since long, very stable, almost 4-4.5 hours screen on time, no random reboots and super smooth. It's all a question of which features you want, you can try chroma/fake nexus rom/cm13, they are all good in their own ways
what about resurrection remix?
can u link me the chroma rom ?
I have not used resurrection remix.
Chroma is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-chroma-03-31-2015-layers-t3069936

Not sure, they might release the sources for all variants at once.
Does that forum message is reliable? I mean that is exciting news for sure, we can finally get some custom kernels etc
At last I can get rid of heavy MIUI.
I hope there won't be a problem compiling with GCC toolchain. 4 Prime sources had problems I don't see how to solve.
That is awesom news. Sources for Mi5, Mi Mix and Mi Note 2 were released today. I hope Redmi Note 4(X) is really following soon.

It won't. We are minority users in number as people don't ask for open source after buying their phone, they just use it. Open sourcing won't do any major impact so it's not a priority and it's up to them.
Also, it is possibly because of the nature of Android. What we're asking is for them to give us the codes to their system because what they have is ****ty and other people can do better. Hurtful? Yes. Disrespectful? Yes. This is my assumption but I'd feel the same way too if my work is being treated this way. I'm not accusing devs of this mindset but is an unintended possibility too.
It isn't hurting us anyway if we don't have sources, we just choose to imagine it will.

MoKee ROM brought Project Treble on OnePlus 5T

Is over, Project Treble for OnePlus 5T is out thanks to XiNGRZ, MoKee dev.
- Full Project Treble implementation
- No data loss
- Phh-Treble GSI ROM works
- RR and LOS Treblized works
- Must use treblized kernel
A brief explaination:
That was possibile because 5T (and other OP device) has a unused partition (sdf6) of 1.4GB. MoKee developer used this partition like a vendor partition. Another requirement is the binderization of the HAL's (in particular camera HAL's but with latest open beta OnePlus did it, so MoKee devs have brought Project Treble to OnePlus 5 and 5T
Usefull links:
OnePlus 5 and 5T added to Treble compatible list: Here!
XDA article: Here!
MoKee ROM with Treble support (at the moment you must install MoKee ROM to treblize your device): Here! (Treble was introduced with 04102018 build)
Treble enabled XDA section (here you can find treble compatible roms and other stuff): Here!
So apparently they rename and re-purpose /dev/block/sdf6 as the /vendor partition. Anybody with more technical experience can say what this partition is, how large it is, where it comes from, and why it's been left unused?

I hope OnePlus didn't intend to support Treble but then got too lazy. Any ideas how I can check this partition? fdisk, /proc/partitions, etc. are all oblivious to its existence...
I do not see sdf6 but one can take a part of sdf5
This is huge stuff! Depending on how this was implented, OnePlus could take some notes?
Oh man devs never let us down . Thanks @xingRZ
Do you think we can implent this to OOS?
Wouldn't we loose features if we flash treble roms? What's the benefits that this brings for us. Devs have new android versions for our device so quickly. I understand the benefits for new devices or ones that have a hard times developing ROMs buts that's not the case here.
Just curious
Someone should tag one plus in lol
where dit you get this rom?
this stuff makes me so exited
FINALLY!!!!
Wow I guess this expanded the lifetime of my OP5T by at least 3-4 Years. The hardware is so powerful. It will sure take some time until Android 9...10...11? starts to lag
Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to flash Android P after Google I/O

Hey, nice job there.
Sadly anything telephony-based is (almost?) impossible to fix because of Samsung's own implementation instead of MTK one
Anyway. Can I have the base ROM device? Also, does it survives a reboot? An older cm14 port had wifi working but bootlooped after a reboot. Ty!
Edit: your screenshots are broken
