it's impossible to support double tap to wake or (knock knock)on lenovo A6000 ,that proximity sensor lenovo isn't clean and accuracy by the product , so i suggest to use Shake feature to unlock screen by using tasker app like automagic , automat or tasker it's easy just google it .

Tap to wake is a function that must be added or developed from kernel. I can be done like it was on moto G, but it has to be developed.
So no, an app won't give you that functionality.
If it does, the phone can't enter deep sleep and the screen would be aways on. Something like that wold drain the battery too fast...

Wanted to share 2 programs that are a great adittion to our Redmi.
Double tap to sleep works with the xposed module but i wanted a double tap to wake. So after trying some apps i found:

This works great with our Redmi you can wake bij opening the cover or swiping over proximity senor.
Also MIUI is missing wifi smart unlock. This app will add this feature. Be sure to add permissons not to close the app by cleaner and in battery mannager in MIUI.

Install "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock" and "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep" this apps. Open Fingerprint Quick Action app and enable. Select single tap action and select Launc app or shortcut. Tap Single tap app or shortcut and select Screen Off app. Now tap your fp sensor and activate Screen Off And Lock device administrator. Everyting is ok.

In Stock-Version before going on Linageos this function was active.
How can i activate this?

Been using fingerprint quick action app. Have to use the root method to get exact stock behavior of tap > instant sleep.
Would prefer non-root method but it works. Only issue is that I suspect it causing minor stability issue. Every 2-3 days need to restart my phone or I'll get 'could not get root access' errors when doing the fingerprint lock, but all good after reboot.

can Invicta (or any other rom) do single touch fingerprint gestures out of the box??
Use RR ROM official. It has single touch FP lock.
I would to buy this phone. There is a way (with root or mod) to wake it with the double tap or with "double tap on softkey" or similar?
I've a Nexus 5X, the rear fingerprint sensor is helfulp when I've the phone in hand, but useless when it's on the desk. I use elementalx with dt2w and smart lock (with my huawei watch) to unlock it.
Is there a similar feature on the Mi A1?

And there isn't a custom kernel because Xiaomi didn't released the kernel sources, it is?
You can always turn on display with "wave over proximity sensor" gesture (several apps available). I find it more convenient than double tap, especially when I have my phone on a desk stand.

So far there's only one other kernel, ported from a different device but it's not fully working and especially not as daily driver.
