Few questions about updating rom and "cleaning" procedure - K3 Note General

Hi,
My phone is getting terrible amounts of bloatware and it practically lives it's own life, so
I would like to know if these videos are valid for rooting & flashing new (stock vibeui 3.0 from vibeui.com) rom.
for root and recovery
"How to Root and Install TWRP Recovery on Lenovo K3 Note! " on YouTube by "Shashwat Uttam "
and for flashing.
"How to Install Custom ROMs on Lenovo K3 Note (Vibe UI 2.8) " on YouTube by "Shashwat Uttam "
Sorry for lack of links but I cannot post them.
It's not YouTube ad, please take it seriously.
Are they okay? Or do you recommend something else?

My next step would be freezing or unistalling bloatware apps using Titanium Backup (or do you recommend other one for this job?).
Do you recommend using these tutorials? Or should I use other ones?
Also I think that's important, I am using WINDOWS 10
Does it change anything?
Thank you very much for you help.

I'm also newbie, but I think if youre gonna flash stock rom you need SP tools. It cannot be flashed thru recovery..

I am quite sad to see that people do not care at all.
Especially that my questions are specific and anyone with actual knowledge could help me in less then 5 minutes :crying:

[Q] [NOOB] Help building custom ROM for S5 G900H

Hey guys
I'm currently working on my first custom ROM mainly because there are currently no ROM for the dreaded G900H (aka Exynos) version. For this, I already downloaded a stock ROM and created my environment using Android Kitchen. So here are my questions:
1. I was able to follow and execute all the instructions to extract the custom ROM, install root and busybox. But first... is Android Kitchen even compatible with Galaxy S5?
2. Is it important to keep the CSC info on the new ROM? How can I backup current CSC info from my stock (carrier provided) S5?
3. How probable is to brick the phone if I flash a very alpha ROM as the one I'm supposedly cooking? I already have a nandroid and EFS backup
Thanks in advance for your answer and patience.

Funny, implying that this is an statistics game. It is not and it's ridiculous to blame developers for the lack of support.
Pretty much everyone that actually develops got the Snapdragon variant, if I had a choice I'd gotten that just by the amount of code and AOSP possibility.
Exynos was only supported by a couple of devs, it's all Samsung's fault - not devs. None of them currently has an S5.
Use xposed, greenify, titanium backup and there are few reasons you'll need a custom rom.
Xposed opened a new world of possibilities to modding.
Edit: Exactly that demanding attitude is what puts devs off. Other regions are usually more polite and grateful and that's something devs have noted in the past....

Sorry if I didnt make myself clear. English is not my first language. When I mentioned the millions of user was only to imply that more users, the more chance to have a genius among them. I didnt mean to have a demanding attitude. I was trying to say "Iknow you are out there, I know you are developing something for all of us. We are here waiting for your effort.
@CiDev:
You want to share your ROM for "H" here?

I wouldn't bet *anything* on it being released, it looks to me like an abandoned project...
The whole 'I can't work on this because I don't have money' turned me off instantly from that ROM.
On topic: I have been working on a custom kernel for our device, mainly trying to improve battery life. I'm still testing, if it's worth it, I can release it.
It's based on the contributions of others, so it wouldn't be fair for me to keep it private, I just don't want to release something that will break stuff.

1 - yes.
2 - make an nandroid before
3 - if you have a brick, restore from your nandroid and ready again

Xiaomi Redmi Note-Stock Android

I do not like MIUI for a number of reasons.
Their forum leaves a lot to be desired.
It is not GPL complaint.
I flashed HMNOTE1W_AOSP_DEV_0627.zip and it is working reasonably well.
Had to restore both IMEI numbers using MtkDroidTools v2.5.3
Have restored all files from my Nexus 5 with Titanium Backup.
Main problem is can't do anything about the kernel.
This is why development is limited as zelendel explain to me.
Too bad, as it is a nice phone for the money.
I didn't buy it. It was a gift from a friend in Malaysia, who knows
I like playing with phones.
Nexus 5 is my daily phone.
I just see the Redmi Note as a challenge.
nice bro.. can u share ur rom?

I downloaded it from the MIUI site.
See Here
HMNOTE1W_AOSP_DEV_0627.zip
You will lose your IMEI's.
Took me a while to get everything working.
Make sure you know how to unbrick your phone, just in case.
Trying new ASOP rom.
VANILA_XAN
SEE HERE
This is the same site listed in the All in One Thread.
The forum is in Spanish.
There are quite a few roms listed in addition to the ones posted.
I am only interested in ASOP roms.
You have to join to download roms.
Install straight forward using CWM.
As usual had to restore my IMEI numbers.
Been running for only about two hours, but seems fine.
Make sure you backup Titanium Folder to your PC if you plan to use it.
Here is another ASOP rom from the Spanish forum.
Direct Link
AOSP Z3
Very slow download for me for some reason.
Features:
Tweaked for better performance and stability
Removed built-in apps that are not often used
Pre-rooted
Zip-aligned
init.d Support
Any internal modification
Xposed Works Framework
Powered by Gravity Box
Lenovo Calendar
Lewa Calculator
Lenovo Music
File Manager Lenovo
Dual Sim Ringer
Xtended Rings
Haven't tried it, yet.
Thanks for sharing

No problem. Trying to find useful information to post here.
The MIUI forum does not seem to be that good from a development
standpoint. I am certainly not a developer, so the best I can do
is post useful information.
Unfortunately, other than the MIUI forum, most forums are not in English.
I am able to get information from the Spanish Forum, as I know a little Spanish.
Google translate takes over when I don't understand something.
AOSP Z3 by Xancin
Installed AOSP Z3 by Xancin.
Xancin has Written many ROM's at the Spanish forum
movilesdualsim.com
SEE HERE
Had to restore IMEI numbers, which is necessary on every install I have done.
Very easy using MtkDroidTools v2.5.3.
Other than that, install was straight forward.
ROM running smooth for past couple of days.
Went back and reflashed VANILA_XAN ROM.
All ROM's are a matter of personal preference and
VANILA_XAN seems to suit me the best.
The other ASOP ROM's worked fine and will suit others.
Now trying the Dual Sim's. I have T-Mobile(USA) as default
and vodafone(NZ) as the second sim.
Since I will be spending Christmas in New Zealand thought
it a good idea to test it.
nice thread!. i am really hoping there would be a stable kk rom

[Q&A] Best Flash Rom From Stock

Hey Everyone!
Carrier: Sprint
Phone: SM-G900P
Android Version: 5.0
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Root?: No but I need to be now!
(So pretty much all Stock Everything)
Experience: Baby/Noob
I have not rooted an android for about 2 years(And that was for my galaxy s2) and a lot has changed! I used to know a good amount but getting on this website instantly overwhelmed me. SOOO getting to my question
1.) What is the best rom that you have flashed?
-Doing a search I found the [MOAR] Rom but it was posted last January(and updated 08/27/2015) So it seems it would be out dated right? http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...om-v5-0-mod-control-floating-windows-t3016692
-Also found this one from CARBON Rom but it seems to have a problem playing media well over bluetooth(which I use constantly so that may be a problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/development/rom-carbonrom-kltespr-t3225270
- Found this one by rwilco12 it seems to be pretty much like stock. http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...m-sm-g900p-og1-stock-rooted-deodexed-t3226240
2.) Do you have any advice for searching and finding new mods on this site? (There is just sooo much stuff)
Thanks for any help!!!
Your Biggest Fan,
CB

So I have an answer to my second question and I guess the best way is to go to the development section of your phone company.
For Sprint: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/development
Kinda obvious but honestly for someone as dyslexic and ADHD as me I get on here and am looking for something in big bold letters with everything I am thinking at that moment. Whenever I don't see that my brain explodes and causes me to have a tiny seizure. I am all better now.
Still curious about my first question. What is the best Rom for Sprint SM-G900P in your opinion?

I'm fairly new to all of this myself, but I can only suggest flashing the rom version from Resurrection Remix group. I've had this rom on my previous device (I9300), and since I loved it so much, I decided to continue on my latest device upgrade - the SM-G900F Just follow this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-resurrection-remix-5-3-4-t3033255

Thanks for the answer man! Will this version only work for the SM-G900F or will it also work for the SM G900P?
This is my plan for now
1.) Do the CF auto root. (that way I can download titanium backup to backup all of my stuff)
2.) Format phone
3.)Then re-root with either your suggestion or the MOAR root.
Any more suggestions?
Does anyone have any more suggestions about which root I should use
or comments about my plan of action in my previous post?

pro elite 3 x722- help, please

Hello! I bought elite 3 x722 and it comes with android 6- 5.8.020S shop rom., at first I didnt notice it because it comes with playstore and some other google features. I'm happy with phone but It doesnt allow me to upgrade at least for android 7 and the keyboard for messages is only in chinese or english tho' it has many languages to work with the phone. I've been reading you guys and I have watched some videos on youtube warning about Not Use Shop Roms, about this stealing our passwords thro' the apps etc. and Im scared. The thing is: apparently the official rom 5.9.026s comes with bugs, I've read lot of complains about people installing roms and the phone bricked then. My knowlodgment about phones is 0 so the tecnical language is being a pain in the ass for me to understand.. Want to kindly ask you what Rom for x722 Elite should I install. And how. And in a simple language language because Im a big noob
ps: sorry for my bad english
I'm on the 20s shop ROM from Banggood right now. I don't have an issue. As for privacy concerns, I can see where you're coming from. But the most you should be worried about is adware. You can uninstall LeEco bloatware apps via adb. See this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75670844&postcount=2
You should be more afraid of the NSA than some random Chinese companies that resell phones, lmao
As for installing a custom Nougat ROM, you can do that. Head over to the LeEco x722 development section. Hit the URL in my signature to learn how to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM. Since you're on 20s, you'll be able to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM easily. Read the sticky thread about the x722 in this forum before proceeding.
Stay away from official or stock 26s if you're interested in rooting your phone. Modded or custom 26s is fine.
Finally, this thread shouldn't exist because it asks some very basic questions. You should have read through this entire forum before making it. Please don't create threads without doing your research first. If you try that in other sub-forums, your threads will be removed or ignored.

thanks! I know these were dumb questions. I have read other topics trust me, but in the end I had the same doubts: 'so which rom should I install? which one is best?' because I always read stuff that worries me. But I dont like the shop rom. I even only get between 1.8- 2.1G out of 4G

Unused RAM is wasted RAM. That's what anyone who knows remotely anything about computers will tell you. And smartphones are just tiny computers. If you're experiencing app refreshes (going into an app restarts it) then it's probably the LeEco bloatware apps needlessly hogging memory in the background.
There's a phone code you can try in the stock LeEco dialer to turn off memory optimization or something like that. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/forum.x...-to-past-notification-issue-eui-t3497530/amp/
As for which ROMs is the best, that's up to you to research for yourself.

Brand new phone to be mod

Hi there,
I just got my brand new Redmi Note 7.
It's been many years that I don't mod my Android phones and since I don't like much MIUI i would like to change OS.
So it's a silly question, i've searched for other threads but I didn't find anything (so if you find any other threads talking about this please link it to me):
I'm a newby about this, with a new phone looking for the best mod for stability and speed (used mainly for workd and daily routines - banking etc), therefore how should i proceed? How do i install TWRP or any other good recovery?
I need a fresh and simple Android OS (stock one if possible or Lineage OS)
Do i need to send an email to Xiaomi to unlock my phone? (i'm asking because i've read several times this)
I want to install also Google Camera and xposed
Thanks for the help and sorry i'f it's a double post.
Look in the guide thread
Basically u need to unlock bootloader via Xiaomi tools first. Then it's like every other phone. There is an all in one guide in the Guides section of RN7 device forum.
