Install drivers for USB devices on O2 Flame

Hi,
Have anyone tried installing drivers for USB devices on O2 flame, like USB to serial converter etc. I was trying to do this and it fails. I want to use my USB to serial converter to connect to the Flame's OTG port. I tried to install the FTDI driver according to the procedure given. but O2 flame does'nt allow to install any driver. I am really . Trying this for quite a long time.
Anyone had a success in doing this, will appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Manas.
Can you give us a link to your drivers. Without that we will not be able to help you.

I downloaded the driver from this link http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
Its not only this driver. In the process to evaluate if the Flame supports installation of new USB driver. I found that it is not allowing. Not even the DLLMain is called.
Done. This is not that easy to though.
how? really intrested... trying to install on toshiba g900
Install a USB driver on Flame
Sorry I was not in touch with this forum for a long time.
For this the first step is to do the registry setting correctly:
HKLM/DRIVERS/USB/LOADCLIENTS
HKLM/DRIVERS/USB/...
Dont forget to mention the index and the prefix values.
the dll must be placed in the /windows folder
Important: Build the driver project with the windows ce version 4.2.

can any body help me !!!

whin I connect me mobile ( samsung i900 ) to computer in USP cabl he is give me this note
sorry to my bad english
Does your PC have USB 2.0 Or 1.0 1.0 will not work correctly.
Do you have a bad USB cable? I believe that you have to use a cable made for the i900 series that maybe a issue.
Of course I'm sure that you made sure you have updated driver and have downloaded the omnia syncing software from Samsung.
Hope this helps
thank you so much :
sometimes a reset of both the computer and phone can cure an error like that.

this usb device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-speed USB 2.0 port

My problem is little weird so i try to explain it as best as I can...
until today there was no problem to connect phone with USB but now when i connect the phone windows said "This device can peform faster this usb device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-speed USB 2.0 port. And another problem is when i turn phone into download mode start odin and connect the phone it said... usb device not recognized. I didnt flash any rom yet and i try different cables.
I am running on windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I try two different PC and its look it the same problem.
But the weird part is that on third PC which has also win 7 ult 64-bit it works just fine.
So i try reinstall operation system but the same problem. The computer is max 3 years old so its has for sure usb 2.0
So i am little desperate because i am not sure if its problem with computers or with the phone.
Thank you for any advice!
I always had this problem with the i9100 actually, I blame crappy usb drivers.
Kies installed? Did you also try different usb ports? Chipset and USB Drivers of mainboard installed?
yes kies installed and also try back and front usb... but same result...
and usb drivers are installed manually by windows as far as i know... or?

Standard Windows message for USB connections just means what it says .

Download mode how and whats on the phone in download window
Connection must be to a mainboard usb port .
If your PC has Kies make sure its not running make sure USB debugging is off on phone .
Power phone off restart start Kies connect phone does Kies see phone .
If yes turn Kies off remove cable connect phone in USB mass storage mode wait for windows to install drivers . Does PC see phone in Windows Explorer .

as I said I tried back usb and also front usb... same problem...
debugging is also off...
I try a little experiment... removed external grahics card and plug graphics on mainboard... and for a few seconds its works!
I try copy some video and speed was usb 2.0 but after few seconds its get error cannot copy bla bla and windows popup : this device can run faster and it change back to USB 1... weird...
and also i try again downloading mode but the same error... usb device not recognized...
Have you always used the same USB-port?
On some pc's, they only have one or two high speed ports and the other ones are "slow".
So yeah, try an other USB port on your pc
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
OP, I am confident it is a problem with your PC, and this XDA forum won't be able to help.
Try using another USB 2 device (like an MP3 player), see if you get the same message.
Use a different computers with the SGS2, see if you get the same message.

[Q] Problems with Magldr installation

I dont get a usb connection to my omnia 7
I tried it on 3 pcs 1 with 64bit 2 with 32bit and all usb ports
On all pcs I installed the usb driver
All pcs recognize my phone but the software gives this error:
[Error Description]:
Please make sure that your device is connected to your computer.
also make sure that right drivers are installed (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe)
Try to connect device to different USB port and also you can try to reboot PC.
Also you can try to exclude USB hubs.
[Info]: USBWorkDMLI_SAM.cpp (173)
anyone knows what i am doing wrong ?
regards chris
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as chris1005, with an Omnia 7.
I strictly followed the instructions to install Magldr:
1) Installing Usb Samsung Drivers
2) Put my phone in download mode
3) Connect it to my pc
4) Launch "DMLI for Samsung V1"
And when i reach the "Connect" step, i get the "173" error (view attachment).
I run on a Win7 x64, my phone is developer unlock.
Thanks for the answers
I had the same problem, but it was solved when I used a USB port on the back (connected to the motherboard) instead of one on the front (connected trough a hub).
Hi,
Thanks for your response, but i tried this method, it doesn't work too, whether the usb on motherboard or the usb hub.
:/.
I don't know where this is blocking.
Is there any other solution to flash a rom on an Omnia 7 than the DFT solution ?
Thanks.
I flashed back from 7.8 to 7.5 and had the same problem again, but ater I rebooted my computer, it worked.
Try to follow this: http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/tutorial_how_to_install_magldr_and_custom_roms_on_samsung_devices-02-08-12

finaly the third that when i tern it on nothing hapen it stuck at pre-bootanimations screen also i cant enter the recovery only download mode but it cant be detected by Pc or odin
so please give me a solution for the 2nd 3rd
not like
chek usb cable port or usb driver try to unplug the battrey reinstall driver use other odin version becouse i try it 95645986688489075 million time hhhhhhhh
If using Windows 8.1 and the pc doesn't detect it in mass storage mode (only shows charging but no option in status bar to enable mass storage) see my thread about how to solve that - guide in my signature
For not connecting to Odin apart from a hardware fault it will be user error
See my firmware thread for correct drivers use odin 3.07 and if on pc only use rear USB ports - do not use front USB ports or a USB hub
Can't suggest anything else - if you follow my guide it will work with the exception of a hardware fault or user error - neither of which I can help with
Both links to my firmware thread & guide to connecting mass storage in Windows 8.1 can be found in the link in my signature
