I will cry if the Snapdragon Variant is not available in Europe !!! - Samsung Galaxy S7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey Guys,
I am currently using the S6 and I hate this damn piece of S*** because the phone reception and call quality is conclusively terrible compared to other devices that are using the Snapdragon Processor Variant.
Don't tell me it's not true because I have tested it. RECEPTION WITH EXYNOS PRROCESSORS IS TERRIBLE - PERIOD.
I want the Snapdragon and I am really hoping it will be available in Europe. What if it isn't? can I still by the Snapdragon and will it work on the LTE bands in Europe? Any known disadvantages?
I'd love to hear your words.

Contacted Samsung France today ... It's sadly true ... No custom ROMs for us ..

That is indeed sad but what's even more sad ais that the Exynos Variant sucks even more with cellphone reception. I had the Nexus 6P Snapdragon 810 for a few days and MAN you won't believe how much stronger the reception was.
There is no doubt at all that the Exynos variant has a significantly worse LTE Radio and for that I will simply buy the G5 after 8 YEARS OF SAMSUNG ONLY.
It's enough suffering with this crap reception, dropped and missed calls! Worthless Samsung - FAIL
NEVER AGAIN.

I live in europe and I hate exynos chipset too. Any solution to import snapdragon version??

But development of what? The exynos will have plenty of roms being made for it, except they'll most likely be based on the stock touchwiz rom. If you want aosp then you'll want the snapdragon version. But the s6 currently has an aosp being developed for it, so that will most likely be available on the s7 too in the future.

Need an SD820 variant

clove.co.uk is selling unlocked UK S7 and the specs show sd820. Might be a typo, but worth looking into...

I found some on eBay but it's 1k€

That LTE modem on the Exynos 8890 isn't that bad (hell it's actually not bad at all). Granted the SD820's baseband is better than it's competition, but the Exynos 8890's baseband is nothing to cry about.
Keep in mind that this is not the Exynos 7420 SOC used in the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge phones.

You might want to check which model this actually is prior to purchasing. Global version G395F does not have Snapdragon meaning they're likely selling an Overpriced G395T.

So, to confirm, you had superior reception on a completely different phone from a completely different manufacturer and you automatically put it down to the chipset?

So anyone has a idea about how getting SD820 in Europe without paying 900€+ ?

Thanks, that's good news. Where did you get that information. I'm okay with the Exynos processor as it is but I know that the lte modem on the s6 is terrible. What's the best way to find out how the reception of the Exynos variant stacks up against the snapdragon variant ?

Would you buy the G900H?

I recently sold my Sony Z1 and stuck on an old iPhone 3G (kill me now). Unfortunately, i cannot find any G900F in my country, the only available is the HSPA model G900H. I feel like buying a 3G phone in 2014 is a bit ridiculous especially at this price. Plus, as I understand, modding/custom ROMs are more difficult to acheive on the Exynos model? I'd love to go out and buy my S5 today.

You are in my oposite situation, i rather have the G900H model for the Wolfson audio chip, but i want root and CWM recovery, that aren't yet available for it.
I am considering the G900F but all my Samsung phones have been Exynos.
The 900H has Wolfson ? Wow. I didnt know that. Should get another H

Does Wolfson really makes that difference?, i just wanted it because i ve read they are very good and all my galaxy phones have had it, but also in the gsmarena review said snapdragon S5 was one of the phones with best sound ever.

Exynos variant in the UK?

I think I'm about ready to purchase the note 4, but wondered what variants there are that work in the UK? It sounds like the exynos might be a better option if available and supported in the uk?
The N910C is Exynos and is sold in Europe ( with garanty ).
It has all the bands needed.

What makes u think exynos is better then snapdragon?
There won't be any difference barring the Exynos version seems to have slightly worse battery life.

Wrong thread.
Exynos also has a much more modern SoC.
And @op
910C will work almost everywhere, it's the international version being sold all around the world. Yes it works on the UK.

Galaxy S7 Edge model numbers and chipsets

Hi all,
By now we know there are different model numbers that come with various chipsets. UK/Europe gets the Exynos version that has model number SM-G935F.
My question? Which models come with Snapdragon on board? The model numbers I know of are SM-G935(SD) for US, SM-G935F(Exynos) and SM-G935FD for Europe and what I heard of there are also SM-G935C and SM-G935X which I have no clue of.
Could you post your model numbers and chipsets?
I really want that extra 25% worth of graphical performance that Adreno gets you and would be really nice to know if I can get that model in Europe.

that 25% you will loose out in worse battery life and worse CPU compaired to the Exynos..not worth it IMO
Probably a stupid question but I am trying to register my phone with Samsung and it asks for the model number. I type it in sm-g935f but it wants the rest of the model after I saw this somewhere when first setting it up but can't find it anywhere now so it doesn't recognise my serial number can someone tell me where to find it googling is not helping thanks

Which colors come to which markets? At launch in Romania we have only the gold and black edition, G935F with exynos.
I heard that white will not be available for US at launch.
Which colors does Europe get?

I'm really surprised the Exynos model isn't more popular

I've had this device for a bit now and had some time to evaluate it. I used the Snapdragon model in stores to try it out and the Exynos feels faster than that, which is saying a lot because the Snapdragon model is pretty fast. Benchmarks put the Exynos ahead by 25-30% (6500 on Geekbench vs 5000, real-world speed test has the Snap device finishing in 2:41, Exynos at 2:03, etc.) Plus this version of touchwiz was optimized for the Exynos model.
I notice these forums aren't as populated as the carrier models. Why do you think the International version isn't more popular?

Thanks for letting me know. I am surprised that all carriers in Canada has the Exynos version as some of our carriers run on CDMA instead of GSM. Since the Exynos version seems to have the unlocked boot loader, and since Samsung has released the source, this might be the first time where Exynos will be better for developing. Let's at least hope

The Edge 935F exynos forum is active. I guess the larger , more expensive model has more folllowers on XDA. I wished the forums were merged like in reddit. With very few exceptions, a discussion about the S7 Edge applies to the regular S7.

Not everyone can drop $600 on a phone. Most of the Exynos ones purchased online do not come with a factory warranty. The SD model normally benchmarks higher in single core power and graphics. The Exynos higher in multi core processing. Each person has a preference. Since the Exynos model isn't a US model your average phone person doesn't even know what it is.

The Exynos supports more LTE bands, but the Snapdragon supports CDMA. Hence why it's used in markets that require CDMA .

S8 + Processor and Unbox Event

Why wasn't there been no information about Chipset that is being used at S8 / S8+? Does anybody have any idea what is the chip that will be shipped globally? (Snapdragon 835 or Exynos). Nonetheless, the unpacked event was not so exciting as I expected. There is nothing much to say other than Screen ratio, Bixby and Dex.
Were you really as excited as you though earlier? Did Samsung fulfilled your expectation.
They said we made a new 10nm processor so it's obviously the Exynos, they didnt mention snapdragon so i guess it will be like the S6 with exynos only, maybe.
SM-G950F/FD/N, SM-G955F/FD/N aka International and Korean will be the Exynos 8895
G950U/0 and G955U/0 + US variants will be the Snapdragon 835
Most likely we're gonna get the SD835 version. At least that's what Mobilesyrup said.

always found it odd that the USA still hold on the less deployed cdma networks. they need to go GSM all the way!

Actually they are. Sprint and Verizon only use CDMA for fallback and voice for now. There lte is gsm and once volte gets widespread enough CDMA will be shut down and refarmed for lte.
