faulty unit - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys I think there's something loose inside my 6p's body
When I tap with a finger on visor ( near the camera side not there other side) or on body below the visor a rattling sound comes. It can also be observed when shaking the phone very fast.
Does anybody of you have this kind of problem ( it's not easily observable so pls try and report)
Should I get it replaced ? What I am worried more is if I get a new unit then it may have other more common hardware problems associated with Nexus 6P like display problems
EDIT:- It goes away when using the camera , is it something related to autofocus

Probably the autofocus if it's just a very light rattle.

It's just the camera, don't worry about it

unusual clash from my X1 Keyboard

Last night, I flashed Touch-it 5.5 and got some new apps installed ...
Then I tested some of the apps...
Suddenly, I felt something was moving inside my device, exactly like a metal ball clashing the keyboard inside...But there is no G-senser in X1, why a moving ball?
Maybe some components fell apart? HTC ,you son of a...
I tried to slide the keyboard in, the sound got lower for a minute, something broken inside the keyboard?
While I was thinking the metal sound was back to the same level as before...
I placed my device on the table to keep it stable so that the "metal ball" won't move...but the strange noise still there...Definitely like a crazy cockroach hitting her head on the inside wall of a box which locked her for time...It really frustrated me...
Finally, I was thinking of the software even I strongly believe it was nothing about software as it was obviously a metal ball clashing sound. I reset my device...the strange sound disappeared the moment I pressed "yes" to confirm the reset operation...
From then on, everything is ok...Obviously it is nothing about hardware...
Anyone have the same experience?
seems only me...
What would any metal ball do inside Xperia?
Sounds like camera-related to me. Sometimes when you half-press the camera shutter (to make it focus), you can hear loud click (don't know exactly what makes it - either lens being focused or shutter - does Xperia even have a mechanical shutter?). This sound itself is probably perfectly normal - a number of other phones do that.
But in your case either software or hardware went haywire and focused again and again... Also I recall reading something about camera constantly focusing bug in some roms.

[Q] Strange screen Problem HD2

Hi guys, first post. So heres the problem. My HD2 screen is not glued properly to the base of the phone and it has a little space between them at the bottom right corner ( next to the Power button), whenever i press the screen to close the gap the phone freezes, and i have to remove the batery. It is getting really annoying couse i cant even put the damn thing in my pocket without it freezing. The hardware keys dont even work i just have to restart it. So my question is does any1 know of this problem and can he/she offer a way out?
Sorry for my english. thanks in advance
Sounds like it been opened before & had not the best assembly.
Would imagine hardware button ribbon is torn or pulled out of socket hence no buttons.
freezing issue could be down to issue with digitizer ribbon or button ribbon or worse ?
Do you have any issues with screen touch & do you know full history of the handset.
If black Void sticker is missing from case screw near battery pins then you know it been opened & most repairs including so called specialists are poor from ones I've seen.
I know this is the last thing you want to hear but if it were my device I'd take it apart and redo the assembly myself. Theres plenty of how-to videos with detailed steps. Hope this helps.

Camera makes crushy noises

Hello , my g928f is about 1 year old. Since 1 month the camera makes sometimes crazy noises while focussing objects. Could it be possible that it is an software issue? I'm runnig the [email protected] Arther97 kernel. My google search only told me to get a new camera but on this phone it is quiet difficult to change it because of the glue everywhere.
Can someone tell me what i possibly can do to fix it? Have u that issue, what did u do? Can i leave it like it is right now or can something else scew up?
Greetings,
Lecani
Same here since day one. Happen almost always when switching camera (Front to back) and sometimes when waking up phone straight to camera (double home button click).
It's normal. Why, I don't know
/CK
as i bought the phone there was no noise .. so i think i is not normal at all.. cause also the camera screen is wobbling when i focus another object.. that was defenetly not when i bought the phone.

Houseing noise?

I noticed some noise, not software relating, whenever I leave it on table, bed or something else, ( I do not throw it) I noticed a slightly noise coming from camera and sensor area. I thought that the side volume button, which is a bit loose, does the noise, but I pressed both of them an the noise is there.
If I tap slightly on camera/sensor corner I can hear some kind of like something is loose inside of it.
Has anyone noticed? Or has the same problem?
Thank you.

Probably the phone vibration motor. I noticed it too, mainly when I put my phone down on hard surface. It was more or less present on my previous phones too, so I guess it's normal.
Thanks for reply. I thought that in might comes from the lens.
You are right, noise comes from around the lenses. I've just checked the tear down photos and vibration motor is located near the usb port on the opposite side. So...I don't know what could be the reason
The sound is due to the Camera Lens Barrel required to operate the Auto Focus function. So basically, there are moving parts in the lenses, which are adjusting focus depending on how far the object is from your phone so the pictures are sharp.
Camera module is fitted with a “Stopper” to limit the Lens Unit movement within the space for the Camera module. When the Lens and Stopper touch, when shaking the phone, a slight noise may occur.
That means it's perfectly normal

I was not wrong thinking about Camera Lens.
Thanks for making clear and detailed explication.

Oneplus 6T Proximity Sensor Always On! :(

Hey guys,
So I bought a second hand OnePlus 6T, Everything seemed to be fine. Phone is in great condition and I had no complaints.
After a while of using it, I realised that when I played WhatsApp voice notes the screen would go off and it would play the vn through the earpiece.
If I make a call the screen will go off until I press the power button (if I have the option to put down the call if I press the power button) or I would have to wait until the other person taking the call to hang up.
It is quite an annoying issue and would like to know whether anyone here would be able to guide me on what else I can check with regards to the proximity sensor.
I have tried 2 sensor apps (AndroSensor and Sensors) as well as gone into engineering mode (*#808#), I have attached a picture of the results from all of these.
These pictures are always the same even if I bring an object close to the sensor (which should be on the left of the front camera, right?)
There is a little bit of dust in the earpiece and can actually see a few dust particles in the front camera, would the dust be enough to interfere with the proximity sensor?
The phone is rooted now, but the issue was there before root. I am using the 8GB + 128GB ROM model.
I have tried upgrading to oos 10, then went back to oos 9.0.11 and also 9.0.17.
Any help will be appreciated, many thanks! ^_^

Bump! Got to 10 posts so added image links in
In my opinion there are dust particles over the sensor.

Thank you, I want to maybe try brushing the earpiece then vacuum it, maybe that'll get rid of the dust.
Does anyone know what that error in engineering mode means?
Test failed. Error: Sensor specific error: 2
Help
Does no one know what could be the problem?
Brushing the ear piece then vacuuming it didn't work
