Phone keeps restarting (not bootloop) - SlimRoms Q&A

Hi
I own an xperia tipo single sim phone.
I have rooted it and installed slimbean 3.1 rom almost 2 yrs ago. It was working fine.
Recently,
>my phone boots up,
>stays on for a minute,
>then pimp my rom app gives a not responding error
>and the phone restarts after a few seconds.
And this goes on
These are the solutions i tried
Solution 1
>I tried uninstalling the pimp my rom app (which was also installed almost 2 yrs ago and never gave me any problem)
>it says uninstall finished but the app does not disappear from the phone. Even if it disappears, it reappears after reboot
> i tried uninstalling other apps but its the same case with them too.
>tried format sd card. Says successful but data doesn't disappear
Solution 2
>tried factory reset. The phone doesn't give any response
Solution 3
>booted into cwm
>wiped data, cache, dalvic cache n flashed the rom again along with gapps
>everything says successfully completed but everything is as it were before.
Solution 4
>downloaded flashboot and original sony ftp for xperia tipo st21i
>it gives loader.sin error and doesn't go past it
Can someone please please please tell me why this is happening and what is the solution?

Sometimes flashboot gets stuck at
Reading device info
Reading packet from phone

You should have a backup of the original rom on the desktop of your computer.

[Q] strange (file permission) problem

Hello,
Just got a SGS. And I like(d) it a lot. At least the first few hours.
Now my Galaxy S has a strange problem.
It does not remember any settings.
If I uninstall an app, it will show up after reboot.
The same goes for settings I've changed.
Uninstalling an app will take 0.1 seconds; (but nothing gets deleted)
If I format my internal SD card (again in 0,1 sec) my galaxy will mount that card again with all data intact.
It started when i used odin to upgrade the firmware. Which hanged the 1st time.
I've tried the samsung software Kies, but that really is a pain in the ...
Is my card corrupt?
Any solutions?
PS tried hard reset (copy_multi_carrier from: XEN
mutlicsc : cannot acces to /system/csc/XEN/system/ )
PS2 tried the 'magic code'. (*2767*3855#)
OP, did you find solution? Looks like i have exactly same problem
Nope, no solution.
Flashing the JF3 roms resolved the crashing of apps and the csc error in recovery.
Open issues:
-Formatting won't work. (after formatting the same amount of used space shows up)
-Removing apps/files won't work. (files / apps do not show up until reboot; reboot going into the exaxt state as the previous boot)
-recovery mode doesn't work ( will get into it; but nothing changes)
Seems my entire Galaxy has ROM instead of RAM.
As I remember correctly the trouble started when either:
-installed AWD Launcher
-registering Samsung apps
Did not start flashing custom roms until this trouble started.

I think I bricked my phone.

Okay I've never read such a weird explanation on any thread in this forum.
Btw, I recently flashed InDroid 4.3. Less than a week ago.
My phone was running perfectly, but my google account linked with my phone was not what I wanted it to be. So I added another account and my phone said that to delete my previous account I had to do a factory reset.
So I deleted my older backup that I had created using Titanium Backup (when I was using stock ROM) and I created a new backup.
So I held down the power button and tried to get into recovery. But my phone just got stuck at the "samsung i5801" screen. I let it be for 10-15 minutes but it won't go beyond that. So I re-inserted the battery, and tried to get into recovery again. Didn't work.
Then I tried to just start my phone in normal mode, but still it just got stuck at the i5801 screen. I removed the sim card, SD card and tried, still stuck at the same screen.
Then I tried to get into downloading mode, which (thank god) worked.
Now I know the logical thing to do is just to flash a new ROM but my questions are :
a- WTF happened?!??!?!?!
b- since I can't get into recovery or normal mode, how do I reset factory settings / clear cache? And if I don't do all that, will flashing be successful? and safe?
btw, I'd like to continue with InDroid until Kyrillos 6.0 is perfectly stable.
-That happens frequently with indroid.. main cause could be the filesystems..
-flash kyrillos v6 its pretty much stable..
-Once you flash a new rom you'll be able to boot into recovery..
-Remove sdcard while flashing once done insert sdcard and wipe data n cache from recovery..

[Q] trying to return to stock - tons of errors in the process

Up until now I had a Galaxy S4 running omega ROM with a custom kernel (can't remeber which) and every so often I experianced a SIM card remove and needed to reboot - the other day, my mom decided to switch cellular compeny, and I recieved a new SIM - It all worked fine, until the next day I got an invalid SIM error and the phone was not usable - So I decided I would return to stock incase it would help or atleast it will return the warranty and allow me to let someone else fix it.
I followed a certain guide in this forum in order to return it to stock, and when the phone booted up - I got a "process.android.acore has stopped working error" - constantly flashing - making the phone unusable.
I wiped the cache and dalvik cache and did a factory reset, and formated every mount on my galaxy - and reflahed the stock firmware - and it fixed it - but now I have a "Samsung keyboard has stopped working" error - making me unable to text ever (tried clearing the app cache and data -didn't work) - and it also shows up when I don't use the samsung keyboard.... and there is the invalid SIM thing... I am stuck and have no Idea how to fix this thing... so... any suggestions?

Hi,
I would recommend you to make a factory reset, flash another stock rom as your current one and then wipe again. Maybe your rom was damaged when you downloaded it.
Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
Update
Ok, I managed to download another keyboard and it fixed it... I still think it needs a better fix... I managed to get it to recognise the SIM, but it is not stable and stable - and goes away until I play with it - turning device on and off, wiping cache.

Encryption Failed... Tried formatting, wiping, installing new ROM but no use

I have a I9505 and it was working fine (samsung ROM), when I decided to 'encrypt' my device! It was fully charged and connected to a charger.
After starting, it stayed connected for 5-6 hours, but nothing was seemingly happening.. After 6 hours I switched it off. Then back on again.
The device after starting (just the system) didnt let me do anything else, and told me that since encryption failed, I need to format the device. So I restarted, formatted. Still same msg
Wiped the device completely. Still same issue. Tried changing file system from ext4 to ext2.. still same problem! I installed a couple of roms, they seemingly installed ok, but after starting, the same msg!
Please help me!
My bootloader is TWRP by teammate I think
Did you attempt to flash the stock ROM via Odin?
find a place that can do a JTAG
I had this issue last week.
1. Flash Stock rom with Odin
2. Boot into stock recovery (Must be stock)
3. Choose factory reset
Fixed.
SOLVED
Thank you guys! Flashing with ODIN worked fine! Not sure why I didnt think of that earlier!!

Dude did you try to use an aosp rom

Suddenly stuck in boot loop (official rom, unrooted)

So i was simply updating youtube through google play, and messenger through messenger it self and suddenly the phone went into boot loop and can't get it out.
opening recovery mode is hard but when i managed to do it, it simply shows the android icon and installing system updates then restarts again. (tried it ~4 times). thanks to that i can't try clearing cache or any of that stuff on the list that is supposed to appear in recover mode.
trying force restart also does nothing.
trying to remove memory card and sim also didn't work.
i read that flashing HOME_CSC from a rom could fix it but the rom websites i know offer limited sizes and speeds and i don't have a strong internet which ends up timing out, can someone help me out? G935FOJV2ERGE is the one i need.
if you have any other ideas that can help, i would also greatly appreciate it, i really don't want to have to buy a new phone atm, and don't want to lose all my data because i don't used backup services cuz they ate up data .
edit: I am on latest official rom, only used OTA updates, haven't rooted the phone.
edit 2: i managed to get a different region's rom and flashed it's home_csc file, and force restarted it and seems to have worked booted, then it started doing it again just 1 second after that. i didn't even have time to unlock it.
edit 3: managed to get into recovery mode list once, wiping cache didn't work. couldn't get into recovery mode again after that. then i gave up and tried flashing a full rom. still the same problem.
