Kies Support for Tab 10.1 chat

I really like so many things about this Tab but it seems I keep runing into road blocks.
All I want to do is to copy my music from iTunes to the Tab and get the pictures and videos I have taken on the Tab to my Windows notebook since the Mac is not supported. Here was my last bit of the chat from Samsung Support.
Jeff: ok, and to be sure I understand Kies does NOT support the Tab 10.1 at this time?
Gary C: Yes, as of now the Kies software is not supported for Galazy 10.1 (Wi-Fi only) tab.
Anyone got any ideas?
DoubleTwist will take care of your needs.

If you want to transfer wirelessly with DoubleTwist, you will have to get the AirSync companion. It's in the market.
Yeah...I scoured the interwebs for Kies for mac. When I finally found it, I got the 'device not supported'.
I've been doing all my file transfers via ES File Explorer.

Kies air or similar?

Hi all,
Just wondering if there is a Kies Air or similar application for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 so I can tranfer files without needing to plug in the tablet? I couldn't see Kies Air in Samsung apps.

What are you trying to transfer?
I've been using SugarSync to move files around without connecting...
Some folks have also had success with Dropbox.

I don't know what OS you are using, but if you have a Windows network setup, find a file manager for android that supports SMB. ES file manager works, I think Astro has an add-on, but the best that I've found is File Manager HD, it is built for tablets. I can connect to any shared folder on my network and browse/transfer away .

Look for "WebSharing" in the market.
If you rooted your tab, Samba Filesharing works great. It's free from the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.funkyfresh.samba

Request: Scrapbook PC application/sync

Tried posting this in Q/A but got no replies, maybe this is more appropiate section....
Scrapbook is super usefull but it would even better with a PC companion App that would allow scrapbooking directly from the PC that is running a dedicated app and that would also sync the scrapbook on the PC with the scrapbook on the Note.
I do about 70% of my surfing on the PC and 30% on the note, so it would be a great way to keep a central store of misc info and also an easy way to transfer from PC to/from Note.
I know there are probably apps like Evernote that could do this but the easyness of scrapbook and its integration to Air Command make scrapbook a better alternative IMHO
Any dev out there care to see if this is even possible?Request: Scrapbook PC application/sync

Got Gear 2 Neo connected to Note 8.0 (4.2.2)

Hi all, I got my new Gear 2 Neo connected with my Note 8.0 GT1100 (WiFi). I am still running android 4.2.2 (stock).
I did the following to make it work:
1) got latest Gear Manager from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573200; downloaded 2 apk and placed them on my external memory card
a) got Gear manager: v2.0.14040401
b) and GearManagerStub.apk (placed also on external memory card, not into systems/app as recommended!)
2) Installed both apps
3) Turned on Bluetooth and ran Gear Manager
4) That gave a few error messages but I nevertheless succeeded in connecting to my new Gear Neo 2
Certainly not everything is working (yet)...
What is and is not working (still WIP; just had 30min to test a few things):
Hoem screen styler works
2) Samsung Apps: fails to find any Gear 2 apps
3) My apps
a) emails does not seem to work (again, might tale me some time)
b) Music Player is working (and I can push songs onto my watch); did not try controlling my Note 8 music player yet (PowerAmp)
c) Heart Rate Monitor: working
d) Stop watch + timer working
e) did not try media controller, but I can start the app on my phone
f) Gallery: have not figured out yet how to push picts from my tablet to the watch
h) Notifications: does not seem to work, but then again, I had little time to figure it out...
i) S Voice: detto, could not download it to my Note
j) Pedometer: works
k) Voice Memo: works
l) schedule works: unfortunately I lose all appointments when I disconnect from teh watch...would be really nice if I could store it offline (like contacts, which I have not tried yet)
m) could not get Weather to work in teh short time I tested it
Well, I hope Samsung will soon upgrade the Note 8.0 to KK with a fully working Gear Manager....at leastI got something to play with until then (and can use it as a (cool) watch)....
Good luck guys and let me/us know if you got other apps to work/download.

Nice, though not interested in Gear myself.
Has anyone tried this with a rooted to KK device?

Update:
I upgraded my Note 8 (N5110; wifi; US) to Android 4.4.1, then I fully hard reset my device. Not much changed and I still do not have access to Gear apps in the Samsung app store, despite Samsung claiming I should. See link: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/wea...SM-R3810ZAAXAR
Here is the text from that Samsung website:
"Samsung Gear™ 2 and Gear 2 Neo are currently compatible with devices that meet the following criteria:
Android™ version 4.3, Jelly Bean or higher
WVGA or higher screen resolution
1.5GB or higher memory"
Note 8 with android 4.4.2 meets all criteria, but still.....
My only 2 options are now:
1) Wait until hopefully Samsung will have mercy and enable Note 8
2) root and change the build ID

Correction: upgraded to 4.4.2, not 4.4.1 ....

[Q] S-Memo - Memo - ...

General question:
Why does Samsung keeps changing the Memo application on it's tablet's and cellphone's?
My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Memo (v2.0)
My Samsung Galaxy S4
S Memo (v 2.17.1574082)
My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1
Memo (v 1.0.1085180)
I'm able to share notes between my Tab 2 and S4 (in .snb) format, but sharing with my tab 4 is not possible. The tab 4 is sharing .memo notes and does not send or accept .snb files.
When trying to install S Memo (from Samsung of course), I get the message that my tablet does not support this version of the tool.
Which tools are you using on the tab 4 to sync with other samsung devices.
Kind regards,
FatEric

You may want to try to renaming a Memo file by changing the extension from .memo to .snb
