it seems that connector is part of motherboard:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSz2IsaHuLI
if that is true you need a motherboard or a guy with good skills on welding.
that phone has no warranty, right?

yes the phone still have warranty but I talked with them and mostly it doesn't cover the battery connector.... and they couldn't give me a price to replace it, but I bet it will be expensive

That actually looks pretty simple to replace if you are handy with a solder iron?

I I'm pretty rusty with the iron
anyone know if I can cable the battery to the qi contacts on the phone or anything to bypass the battery connector ?

Well yes, that's a workaround. You can still buy a Qi-enabled back door or just buy the paper that goes conected to the pins and place it between the battery and the back cover itself (I don't remember the name, but there are a lot in Amazon or Aliexpress).
By the way if you want this phone to be your daily driver, I suggest you to get it fixed. Wireless charging is painfully slow, phone cases doesn't fit with aftermarket Qi enablers or even the genuine back door and they probably don't work with the charging base either. Also with WiFi you wouldn't be able to transfer files or even flash roms between your phone and your pc as fast as with an USB cable. Now if it will be your secondary phone then sure, grab a Qi cover or get an external battery charger and problem solved. Good luck!

but the qi wireless only do the charing ? or does it power the phone with the battery also ? because I think I need a way to bypass the battery connector to get more stable power on

also there is 4 pin-outs anyone know what does what ?

Phone struggling to charge.

Hello everybody. Recently, I had my phone go under a repair which involved opening up the entire phone just to replaces the mini usb port, which was detached from the phone and was trapped inside, losing its ability to charge.
Now, another problem has arisen. The phone has problems charging with wires compatible with its port. When I connect to it to charge via usb, it was plug-n-go, all good. For some unknown reason, it suddenly came under the issue that I need to shift the usb up,down, left, right, and slightly bend it the inside. Now, the original charger doesn't work because it broke, leaving the usb charger as the only option. I can't understand why my HTC Wizard is having this problem, and it's very frustrating. I paid sixty dollars for the repair on the USB, and it seems it hasn't done anything except reattatch it. Any suggestions?
Hey Infinity M,
By your description, it looks like the soldering is a bit loose, thus you have to shift the USB.
Have you tried with different chargers and cables?
If you wish (at your own risk), get a thin screwdriver or something like one, then apply a small force to all directions at the border of the Wizard's USB. Watch if it moves with any pressure, as that will indicate a loose solder.
Good luck, man!

Thank you for your sufficient reply. I have not tried a different cable, and I have checked the Wizard's USB. I'll have to try another cable to check if it works. Do you know where I can buy a charger for a cheap price. Thanks!
Edit: Heh, I realized you're the same person making that HTC Obsidian Case, I'd love to pay you for it lol.

That's a hard one. I would send you straight away to eBay, lol, but I guess you can take a look at some local stores near you. It doesn't need necessarily to be a Wizard's charger. In fact, any charger for a HTC device that uses the same battery will do (the Tytn's I guess). Or you can check the charger label and see if it meets these requirements:
INPUT: 100-240V~0.2A
OUTPUT: 5V, 1A (this one being the most important of all)

if the center pin is making good contact with the battery, than yeah, you might want to get it looked at.

QI charging

I wanted to share my QI wireless charging project, I had a small turn/twist while doing it.....
I am using a BLUBOON (Make sure it's TYPE B and not TYPE A, found it to be the best one out there, but more expensive $20ish) and an LG G3 NFC + QI but the QI part does not work, it must be some special kind of charging coil? Anyhow, I just cut off the center and contacts from the QI section of the LG G3 sticker also put a piece of cardboard behind the contacts so they would actually reach the pins and on the BLUBOON I cut off the microUSB plug and soldered the + and the - to the USB port. Nicer and cleaner solution than what I had in mind (soldering the 2 pins of the LG G3 QI to cables and running them down to the USB port, making the back undetachable...)
Here is my original post on the OnePlus forum:

So can you use the wireless charging or not? But does look nice anyhow!

Hi m4f1050,
LG G3 only has the antennas on the sticker, the NFC board is inside the phone (as usual) and also the Qi board (usually in the sticker for other brands such as Samsung !). That's why it didn't worked.
Take a look at mburris mod : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57765939&postcount=235
I think it's rather easier that way
Anyway, good job and thanks for sharing !

8 soldering points vs 2 soldering points ... IDK if it's "easier" but hey, 2 options! I also get +400 mA with my setup. At 25% it said it would take 6 hrs to fully charge..which is half of what a 2.1 amp wall charger (3 hrs to fully charge on 25% batt) Tested both ways.
EDIT: Here is a quick snapshot of my charge mA's (I've seen 400+ but today at work I only got up to +375 maybe it's the wall charger vs the one at home....)
Here is my OPO on my home charger. Its a Trident single dock. Ordered the dual dock for home and took the single one to work.
IMHO the Chinese docks (black or white with the wireless symbol in center and a red on and blue charging lights) aren't as great...
BTW I downgraded back to 4.4.4 since 5.0.2 was draining the phone more in idle.
damn.. i cant solder worth SH!T.. so this wont help me.. lol

I did the soldering because I wanted the USB available, but you can get the generic charger that plugs into the USB port then you put the lid over.
It's how I first started with QI on my OPO. Just make sure you get --TYPE B-- instead of --TYPE A--
Type A: narrow end of micro USB upward.
Type B: narrow end of micro USB downward (what we have on our OPO's)

Check pics. I cut off the USB plug and soldered it. But originally it was a BLUBOON generic QI charger (type b)
If you are soldering you can use TYPE A but you have to inverse + and - before soldering to the charging port.
EDIT: Attachment shows QI charging from 77% to 100% in an hour and a half. Almost 25% in 1.5 hrs. So around 6~7 hrs from 0% to 100%

Zuk z1 not charging, heats up very hot.

So basically, the phone randomly stopped charging and when i had picked it up to see why it wasn't charging, it was really hot to the touch towards the top of the phone. Not sure what is going on. Tried different cables. Does the same thing when the phone is powered off. I just ordered a new Usb-C jack to replace the phone inside the phone. Maybe shorting of some sort... Any ideas?
Happened with me once, in my case it was draining after putting a charger. So, I let it discharged fully until it got switched off & then put a charger. It started charging normally.

Did you try with another adapter? Because then we can rule out the possibility of a short circuit.
And, you mean more hot then usual? Because it's a 2A charger it's sure to heat up the phone.
One more thing, if it's a short then there are possibilities of the surge protector getting burnt which is inside you phone. In that case, either, you'll have to replace the entire charging circuit board or maybe just the surge protector (It varies form brand to brand. Hope Zuk has a replaceable surge protector)
Well I tried various combos of power sources and cables. Nothing seems to work. It's been this way for a while. Now I'm just using a backup phone.

The high voltage protector on your circuit board must have been damaged. Take it to a authorized personnel and get it replaced. Nothing else stands a chance and it cannot happen because of a software issue. If it was a software issue then it would be more like there won't be any indication that it's charging and battery percentage shown would be stuck but still the phone's battery will be charging and will stay powered on.

No, no! Your USB Type-C port will be attached to a separate circuit board. The board may also include a mic and maybe a speaker too. So there will be a switch just like a MCB for your house, which in case of high voltage will get get burnt and hence break the circuit. Now just replace that board. Or some manufacturers' design allows just the surge protector to be replaced (Which will save you a lot of bucks).

Yeah! But before you replace you can ask the technician to examine the board once. Just cross checking (It does no harm)

Big Billion on Flipkart And Great Indian Sale on Amazon are on so i recommend you u to change your phone to poco f1.
There might be the problem with the port of mobile due to which it wont be able to charge up, or there can be some issues with battery as well.

Toasted my Battery Port

Amazingly I accidentally toasted my phone's battery charging port while sleeping. (My face mask fell on the device and the phone got wet from it)
I can't find any good source for charging port only and looks like my only option is to get the whole motherboard which is very pricey. Any one have a better suggestion for my issue?
I can't charge the phone anymore -last time I tried there was a stench of burning electronic, it will charge for a bit then stop charging inevitably.
I can't use it as tether or USB device to get my files.
I'm using my battery pack to remedy this issue.

I have a solution, although it may not be ideal. But you can buy an external battery wall charger. Then you can swap between two batteries.

Won't work with a metal back
The reason the port is not available separately is because it's soldered to the main board, not easy to replace unlike the headphone jack, loudspeaker, screen, and vibration motor
