Does anybody have Redmi Note 4G Dual Sim 5.x/6.0 ROMs? - Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have searched this forum,but I did't find anything.

I've the same question too. None of the custom roms for gucci is bug-free. I've tried them all, cm11, cm12/12.1, flyme os, fiui. I don't like miui roms, developer or anything....searched everywhere for a good, bug-free, stable custom rom for gucci. Found none. Everything is for 'dior' only. Why dior gets so much priority & gucci gets so much neglect, I don't know...,but it would be very useful if somebody ports a solid, bug-free CM version for gucci.

[Q] Is there a completely stable CM based ROM available for DL, without any bugs?

Hi All,
I was wondering if there was a stable CM based ROM for the RedMi Note 4G, without bugs (as mentioned in the title). I know this question may be a bit redundant, but I was thinking of possibly compiling a list of all the stable ROMs available for the device. If there is already such a thread, please let me know and I'll remove this. Thanks!
There's a cm11 ROM by JKAZ for Redmi note 4g with no bugs...he also build FIUI ROM and Mokee ROM (bug is slow charging)..
Thanks! Could you link them? I can't seem to find the posts. And also, what's FIUI?
JKAZ link.

Rom which you have an interest that is ported to Zenfone 5?

If possible tell why
Of course AOSP or RR with android 6.0, but it is to hard at now, can it be aosp 5.1.1? becouse tank0412 aosp 5.1.0 has audio issues, if port the 5.1.1 and try to fix audio I will use it
[english is not my native language, but I will try]
My vote: surprise us! My only request is a rom a bit different than cm or aosp rom, they are very simple and equal. It's great if zenfone 5 can get some new experiences. Maybe a rom with Layers support? Or a rom with more tons of personalization like rr?
Examples of roms:
crDroid
AICP 10
MoKee
MIUI (Why note? A completely new experience)
Anyway, waiting
EDIT: I can't post as a answer -.-'
I Like Cyanogenmod also SlimRoms . Seems Like Devs started fighting again over there ego problems. I am Good with Cm12.1 right now accept a bug that doesn't allow me for wcdma only mode.
XenonHD ROM
http://www.xenonhd.com/
Zenfone 2 is having so many roms right now, can we get them for our Z5 and Z6?
Well, MIUI never worked before but I can try ...
6.0 I am already trying to over a week but still could not make it work c
I'm not even there to little fight, I'm here to help the community.
As they are slimroms has versions for kitkat.
And if it works for Zenfone 2 has a good chance to run for Zenfone 5
PS: I found it easier to answer all in a so response
Look I even try, but if I did would fall on saying it was another copy of the build so I prefer roms that have not yet any available version to avoid confusion
Which version of CM 12.1 are you using?
I love MIUI,it is a great looking rom,i remember when i flashed MIUI on my old S3 mini
MIUI is only one example, but I don't think is a good rom for all, because still in android kitkat. AICP and others like RR are good
@TecnoTailsPlays Tank already working in it. C'mon, roms different than aosp/cm! (with audio lag fixed)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-asus-zenfone-5-t3252789
I tried code *#*#4636#*#* for wcdma only mode but menu is unselectable, I replaced settings.apk from tank build then code and wcdma only mode works but settings gives force close so still in middle of mess.. :/ o guess sources are old of this rom. If u could then please find a fix even changing dalvik value doesn't work.
http://www.xenonhd.com/
I want Flyme or MIUI
@XHook please let me know if you find any solution for this.
*#0808#
vibeui is similar to miui ...maybe dev can port k900 rom which use intel cpu into zenfone
A Stable CM11 or AOSP Kitkat. That would be so great.
a decent lite kitkat rom will be awesome along with all the lollipop based rom,
BlissPop maybe.

Best STABLE ROM released for Redmi 2?

Hello, I got my cousin's Redmi 2, so I was hoping to put Custom ROMs. I've been searching around, but didn't seem to find the best stable ROM. I need a daily driver, and it doesn't need to be Marshmallow, but an upgrade from KitKat would be nice. I love the Lollipop UI. But still, I give my preference to the most stable ROM, since I don't want juggle around every single custom ROM available.
Thank You!
UPDATE 21/03.
Thank you guys for the poll! MIUI was getting all RAM sucky so I needed to get a Custom ROM. I've tried Nexus Experience, Resurrection Remix, HTC Remix, and Kuma's CyanogenMod 13.
Nexus Experience: It has same user interface you get from Nexus, but it lacks multitasking capabilities. Besides most of the ROMs in stock looks like this, so I wouldn't recommend this. Link to Download, Credits:Nexus Exp. team
HTC Remix: This ROM is bulky in size, I've waited for 3-4 hrs for it to complete the download, and when I installed, the recovery ended with an error. But from the reviews, it said it has some camera bugs with the stock cam but Snapdragon cam is working. It didn't have the HTC Dialer also. If you switched from an HTC and want the HTC UI, you should take this. Link to Download, Credits:(--light--)
Resurrection Remix: This ROM was good, but compared to CM13, this ROM sucked battery more and at the first boot, the status bar had some lag issues, but after one or two reboots, it was working perfect. Besides that, no problem, this is the second best ROM. Link to Download, Credits:nick37332001
Kumajaya's CM13: This is by far the best ROM I've tried. Battery is the best, considerable less lag while multi-tasking, good gaming performance, and the basic MM UI. I didn't find any bugs at all. If you're looking for the best ROM, this is the one. Link to Download Credits:ketut.kumajaya
I've also found that, newbies to ROM flashing tend to think Official ROMs and Builds are better than Unofficial ones. This is a wrong perception. Kuma's build's are unofficial, but it had a much better performance compared to Nexus Experience. What counts is how much work the devs put into this.
Hope this thread becomes helpful to both users as well as developers. Great work, devs. Hope you keep up the good work.
Hello Venkatesh, Im using 2014818 too. Can you tell me which ROM are you using? Also, even after I flashed Custom recovery, I still see stock recovery, but from there Im able to access TWRP. is this expected behavior? Please tell stable roms for Redmi 2 2014818

I am on stock miui brother. First root your device, install flashify and flash twrp from flashify. You are done.

Blisspop ROM
I have flashed Blisspop ROM, run smoothly until now ( more than 2 days)
Kumajaya's Marshmellow as daily driver. Using since last december, never crash-rebooted and rare bugs. Battery could have been better. And camera, obviously you can't beat MIUI's stock camera but it's all right.
cm 13 by kuma is already stable because basic functionality of redmi 2 is now working been using till now
Thanks guys! I've updated my OP, with reviews.
@rohitaar I'm too on cm 13 its smooth stable, but have you tried aosp caf,if yes how's it? I like idea of pure aosp ROM on which I could use xposed if I want any feature. Please review it if you can
I must add the (at least) here, none of the MM ROMs has a working adb, and some of has GPS issues

Do not believe this guy, I've been using ADB for like every ROM to batch install the APKs which I've backed up from the Stock MIUI.
ADB works perfectly. Also, I love Here Maps more than Google Maps, and it has no problems at all. Brother, if you have any issues with your phone, you should check it with the manufacturers, or at least other users, see if they have any issues.

@rohitsonone No.. I had a look at it, but the UI seemed too Ice-Sandwich type! You see the screenshots! Guess I'm happy with CM13! You can use xposed in CM 13, no problems, although I don't want any tweaks.
I dont think kuma's cm13 ROM has best battery. I mean it is not to hurt him, but the marshmallow changes which forces us to enable gps for wifi functionality is the thief. It sucks battery like hell. But cm13 of kuma had awesome camera and it had no lags at all !! Very clean and smooth UI. As the kernel source has been released for redmi 2 we will have wait for some good battery management tweaks. PS: I am using kuma's cm12.1 as my daily driver and it has no problem at all except camera quality and the battery management(better than cm13 but still . . .)
can anyone help me with the audio bug? {audio playing with speaker and headphones.} the roms i used tends to work normally for 10 reboots. but after some reboots the audio bug kicks in. audio playing with speaker and headphones. hope thats the bug with roms. I have used Ressurection Remix both 5.1 and 6.0.

Redmi 2 'starter pack'. Some questions from a new owner

Hi!
Well, its my first thread in the Redmi 2 section. I'm quite experienced with other devices (Moto G, E, Zenfone 2), but its my first Xiaomi device (well, isnt exactly 'mine'. It belongs to my girlfriend) and I have some doubts.
Firstly: The stock firmware is based in KK. Is there an official MIUI based on LP or MM? If yes, is the memory management ****ty like the Moto's? (yeah, Moto's LP and MM was terrible for 1GB RAM devices)
Secondly: For the most updated stock ROM, is there a good custom kernel? Is there need to unlock bootloader or anything else?
Thirdly: Is root easy?
And most important:
Is there advantages to use custom ROMs like CM on this device? Will I miss some features? (camera quality - like Xperia devices)
Hi! It seems to have root out of the box, there is a system app called Security, and it lets you manage root permissions. For your other questions, I don't know. One important thing with this mobile: if you are using GPS in the background (like measuring distance of a trip) there is a setting to protect the battery that cuts GPS and background data off by default after x minutes. This took me some time to figure out, and it's turned on by default on my phone, and it was quite annoying... You can find this option in the battery settings, and can add exceptions or disable it entirely, but still...

Hey @Dan_Jacques,
So I'm relatively new to it myself (only had it for about a month), but have been heavily playing with it ever since. Here's what I've learned so far:
There's no official "stable" LP or MM MIUI ROM for the Redmi 2, but you can find official "developer" ROMs here. Keep in mind you have to find out your variation and see whether yours is a "Prime/Pro" or regular Redmi 2, and choose the ROM accordingly. The Prime/Pro dev ROMs are 5.1 (LP) based. Not clear whether the Prime/Pro ROMs work on regular Redmi 2.
You can also find the latest MIUI 8 developer ROMs on this thread from Xiaomi.eu.
I got sick of MIUI after giving it a good go, and have been happily running on official CyanogenMod 13 Nightlies for a couple of weeks now. Here's the XDA thread with setup instructions, and the one for the ROM development, so you can keep tabs on it.
I have it setup with OpenGapps ARM - 6.0 - Super, customized with my own config file.
I'm still not clear [conflicting reports], but I believe 5.1 (LP) based ROMs lock your bootloader, which then has to be unlocked by Xiaomi (from this page) before you can flash a custom ROM. This has been my experience, and it's possible I'm misunderstanding something, but it was easily solved by re-flashing one of the stable 4.4 (KK) based MIUI ROMs through Fastboot (which also re-flashes the bootloader), and custom ROMs/recovery utilities flashed smoothly then.
Good luck!
Since it seems You've been Answered , I would like to add few Points , Yes Redmi 2 (prime variant) has Got LP based ROM officially , Known As MIUI 8 , which is Coming out On 16th August for Everyone [Global Stable] , whereas if you're interested you can Try Out the China Dev , and Global Dev Roms that are already available ,
Note : Redmi 2 have KitKat Based MIUI 8 , but Prime's MIUI 8 (based on LP ) can also be used ..
And We have Several Official MM as ROM , CM 13 and RR being most Notable ones ..
Miui 8 china dev

Miui 8 global dev

All Custom Roms (ALL)

Thanks a lot!
After 28 days waiting for my postal service, the phone arrived yesterday. (yeah, the Brazil's postal service is a crap). My device is the 2014819 model (appears to be a 2014811 variant)
After some hours, flashed TWRP 3.0 and MIUI8 KK based custom rom with root (available here: http://forum.miuirom.com.br/index.php?threads/rom-miui-8-miui-brasil-e-miui-global-6-7-21.506/ )
The phone is snappier than Moto G 2nd Gen (MM). Much snappier! And considering the specs (similar processor, same RAM, worse filesystem - Moto uses F2FS, Xiaomi ext4), the performance difference was greater than expected. Congrats, Xiaomi.
@minusfive and @rootmaster I found intersting the different 'base' of MIUI. We has KK, LP and MM (depending the device) base for MIUI8. Obviously I had the doubt: LP MIUI8 ROM is hunger for RAM like other device ones? For who that upgraded from kitkat, are the pros greater than the cons? (again talking about Moto G: the kitkat stock ROM was blazing flash, LP and MM are slow, with a terrible RAM management). I'm intersted with the [ROM][Official MiUi8 Lollipop 5.1.1][WT86047-WT88047] THUNDER_MiUi8-6.6.30 and the Jerrica kernel before try CM. Is it a good idea?

You're right, except for the last point. The bootloader does NOT get locked on LP based MIUI ROMs. Redmi 2 bootloader is always unlocked.

Best stable/fast Cm13 rom?

Well i no more use cm. Rather i use stock rom. It is stable and we can get all features with xposed and other apps.
I have tried the following
Resurrection remix
Android Ice cold project
CM13
Bliss pop
Liquid smooth
For me CM13 was the most stable but it certainly was not the fastest, event tho in some conditions it performed well, and is the rom that I have had the most experience with. The other roms I listed above were quicker but they were a bit more unstable than cm13 but not to the point of unusable.
And finally I have been testing a new rom called exodus and my experience with this, since the past week is wow, it is the fastest rom that I have come across in terms of bootup time and shutdown, including overall performance when using my galaxy s5, however even tho there hasn't been much in a way of apps crashing I do get the odd lag now and again which is not consistent, but I can see this rom will always continue to improve.
There is another rom that I like to try out and it's called aokp as that claims to have good performance, however i'm not sure of the stability of this.
You should check out the xda channel on youtube, there are quite a few reviews for custom roms that are even available on our device.
