Automatically enable sRGB mode on boot with tasker? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't like the eye popping colors of amoled screen on my 6P. sRGB enabled in developer options makes it look better in my eyes as a amatuer pornographer. However, it doesn't stick and needs to be re-enable on each boot.
Trying to figure out how to enable sRGB mode with Tasker or with shell commands. Is it possible?

I assume you meant photographer?
On topic, are you on a custom ROM? I don't believe you can automate sRGB, but there are (better) equivalents available if you're not stock.

ASUS can do so much with their Splendid display tuning app!

The Blue Light Filter mode can replace 3rd party apps like cf.lumen, Twilight and Lux's night mode. It's a stock method of customizing the display color temperature.
ASUS should copy a leaf from cf.lumen's book and add the capability to automatically calculate sunset by your GPS coordinates and turn BLF mode on at night! Later at night they can add option to automatically change color temperature to more red tones (i.e. setting the BLF mode slider all the way to the right) like cf.lumen's sleep mode!
Thanks to Splendid display tuning, I no longer have cf.lumen installed. But! I do miss the convenience of automating things. Having the display tuner widget in quick settings is nice but no cigar!
Similarly when bright sunlight detected, the Splendid app could have option to turn vivid mode on.
Cyanogenmod12 and by extension CyanogenOS12 already has both these options (night mode and CABC for bright sunlight mode similar to vivid) available in their display options settings.
Perhaps these suggestions should be forwarded to Asus...as they seem to be set on providing timely updates to the phone(awesome), they might listen. I do like the Splendid app.
I agree. And now that we have this option: @Asus_USA
Maybe a rep here would forward the suggestion?

Timed profiles for Splendid would be great. A more effective colour temperature adjustment, coupled with a considerably lower minimum screen brightness on a hardware level would make this phone SO much more usable for late-night reading.

sRGB

Is there any way to enable sRGB in Emui? The option for it shows up when I search in settings, but when I press the search result, I get redirected to developer options, where it is nowhere to be found. The setting is obviously there, but I guess Huawei has disabled it or something? I hate these over saturated colors!
Nice, yet unsatisfying find! Would love to have sRGB enabled as well. It was my preferred mode on S7 as well.

Ok. From what I understand, the mate 9 pro covers 100% of the NTSC color gamut which is higher than sRGB gamut. So what that means is that colors are true to life as displayed on the screen. There should be no reason to choose sRGB even if available as an option.
Source of this info is on the huawei website.
I sent them an email, here is the answer:
"We are happy to hear that you are satisfied with your new phone, despite that you can't activate sRGB. For now, it is unfortunately like this that the possibility for sRGB is still not in the system. It might come in a new update, but we can not make any promises that it will. We are sorry for that. Using Tasker to toggle Comfort View and Always-on Display?

I'm trying to make a task that toggles the always on display on and off, based on certain profiles.
I paid for Secure Settings pro because I know for the S7, it gives the necessary options for this.
But with my G6 (7.0, stock, at&t) I'm only seeing a setting that toggles the brighter display for always on display, no actual toggle for always on display.
Is there a plug in or something I'm missing here? Is it under a strange name or something in the list for Secure Settings?
I emailed the developer about this and got no response.
I also tried Autoinput but it does not work well if lock screen is password/fingerprint protected.
Anyone have any ideas?
Are you trying to set the AOD to turn off/on at a specific time of day??
No, that's already in the settings. I want to eventually make a profile that will turn on and off the AOD based on notifications, but for testing purposes I've been using if it's connected to a power source or not.
I would like to toggle the Comfort View at a specific time of day though. But with this I have the same problem, I had to use autoinput which doesn't work well with having a protected lockscreen
On my LG G5 H850, I found the setting to be enable_ext_display_on_lcd_off=1

Enable immersive mode in apps?

I'm looking for a way to enable immersive mode on the G6 in some apps.
I saw the topic "18:9 immersive mode ..." but I only need the immerisve mode to be in chosen apps.
Is it possible? The phone is not unlocked nor rooted.
If there is a method where root is needed, I will root.
I really need this too
You can do it with the combination of Tasker and AutoTools (plugin to Tasker by Joao). Both applications are paid but in my opinion they are definitely worth the price.
I'm using this combo on my G6 and turn off Immersive Mode when I use Chrome - I mean Tasker automatically turns it off for me.
There are plenty of tutorials and guides on how to use Tasker and for your case, app based profiles.

Android 9 problems with AOD

guys, anyone on Android 9 disappeared AOD? Clearing application cache AOD did not help. I investigated this question and realized that the problem is possible either in power saving mode or in comfort mode. Also, if you enable comfort mode, it is displayed on AOD(everything except the clock changes the color tone) I wanted to know if you had this? still unpleasant when it disappears or changes color.
I can't say for sure but is you have tasker this can be the cause, at least for me, another temp fix that worked is going to aod settings disable it, enable it, enable Bright display and disable it. As for the color shift I can't help you.

The aod doesn't seem to work under modified screen colours, that was the cause of the issue for me. Now i just leave at default settings
Visual confort is the problem
