Is there an app to change status bar icons? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title states, I've installed Screwd and I'm going for a red theme.. I've changed the clock and nav bar buttons via the ROM options, but there doesn't seem to be anything for the battery, WiFi signal, mobile signal and other potential icons which pop up.
Quite simply I'd like to edit them, an app would be preferable, I'm aware that I can edit some files to get the desired colours although I'd like to avoid that as its a bit of a ballache if you don't do that a lot..
Any ideas?
Thanks.
PS: I won't use xposed so that option is out.
Edit: just realised I hadn't put "Colours" I don't want to edit the image of the icons, just the colour.
Thanks again.

I'd check out layers.
However I use xposed for all theming needs. I would reconsider using it

Would layers be functional with a CM based ROM ? AFAIK screwd is CM based so not sure if this would work..will look into it cheers.
Edit: OK so as far as i can see, it is compatible but it doesn't alter the status bar icons..at least not on their own. Unless I'm not seeing something.
And no I wouldn't use xposed it murders battery life.

This is as far as I've got with it. ROM toolbox doesn't even have icons for cm13. So annoying.

Any other ideas

Anyone???

how to remove clock from notification bar?

is there any way to remove the clock from the notification bar? if your have something like beautiful widgets running it looks almost stupid having 2 clocks there. or at least have the option in settings to keep the clock or remove the clock?
i can understand the other aspect of when your in applications people would like to see the time in the notification area. but i just wana see if i miss it or not.
i gave it a quick google, and most of the responses were fairly old and for different handsets. just wondering if it is possible?
im running SuperE 1.0.1 on a 32A, cheers!
something to try.
check your spareparts app (mine is ver. 2.1_update1) it has user UI tweak at the bottom.
Clock can be set to hidden. (may not work)
while your are there, make the clock color to match your status bar. In case the hide clock part didn't work. (try transparent as well)
yeah in cyanogen's latest rom he includes a modded spareparts app that lets you control this. maybe you can rip it out of his rom and put it into yours if your version isnt the same. maybe can you download it from the market as well, not sure if that version is up to date.
thanks buddy! had no idea i should even look in there =)
the hide clock option doesnt work for some reason, even after rebooting. but changing the transparency to nothing hides it.
only thing is now it leaves an ugly gap where the clock used to be lol. i need to try find a way to remove it completely!

I tried hiding mine as well one day (a week ago maybe?), and it didn't work. Then yesterday I noticed, out of the blue, there was no clock in the notification bar. LoL So it did remove it, eventually.
it works just fine you'll just have to reboot a couple times
rightly so! i was wrong before, it does work. like losinc said u just need to reboot a couple of times. the changing of colour of the clock works too. just took a few times to get it right =)
thanks for ur help guys!
i had problems changing colors in cm 5.0.7 so i updated to 5.0.8t1 and it worked at once
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general

Black notification bar?

I'm looking at some fascinate screenshots and notice some people have a black notification bar. Is there a setting somewhere for this that I'm just not seeing?

No setting. It is usually a theme that is being used. You will need to be rooted and deodexed to use a theme. There are some in the theme forum that will work for you once you are.
If CyanogenMod is ever ported over then there are settings built in to that ROM that can be used to accomplish this.

What if I wanted to darken the neon blue that you see on the loading popup messages? Could I do this easily myself?
There's a couple of themes that will do it. I use the Frost Remix NexTheme. Good ****.
Oh yeah I definitely know about themes (had about 15 different ones on my droid lol), but I thought these were stock screenshots because everything looked the same except the notification bar.

How to get a simple freaking Nav Bar

So yeah, both my back and menu capacitive buttons are broken, I need some way to add a nav bar to my phone.
I tried the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" on build.prop and it does not work.
Tried Resurrection Remix and some other roms which do offer a nav bar, but my phone gets overheated as **** and battery lasts no longer than half a day with normal use.
Is there any other way to add a nav bar ? I could be running kitkat or lollipop, i dont really care, all I want is to have a nav bar on the bottom of my screen.
Help please.
Try the SlimPie feature. It's that thing where you drag from the edge of the screen and various buttons pop up.
Resurrection Remix has it. And Slim roms too. Other roms that combine features should also have it.
It's your best bet if the actual nav bar doesn't work.

I did tried RR, but the overheating and battery drain on there was simply incredible, plus google play services along with other processes kept crashing.
Would you mind linking me to other roms which I should try?
I'm currently testing GearCM to see if it overheats or not.
Isn't there any way to add a nav bar to a stock OS? I mean I don't want any fancy features other than the nav bar, thats all i want.

Oh, you have a I9500. I have an I9505. So I can't suggest any roms, sorry.
Try finding a rom which has the SlimPie feature I was talking about. It's not a nav bar, but it's the closest you will get.
I don't know if there are any nav bar apps, but google can surely give you some answers.
Cm 12.1 already offers that, not satisfied?
Download slimpie (note: its not available in the play store, so search in google for its apk)

Changing the status and navigation bar's color permanently

Hi,
There is an AMOLED burn in problem on my 6P. Especially on the navigation bar area. I thought reverting the colors on both bars would be a good idea, but I just couldn't make them stay that way(white background and black icons). I am on latest MM firmware. I rooted the phone and installed Xposed Framework. Any help would be appreciated.

What did you change to make them white sometimes? Did you edit Styles.xml in framework-res.apk?
I don't think there is a way to change them in all situations. Most maybe, but not in all.
You are on Marshmallow?
I returned to MM because as far as I remember some people were reporting bootloops when they flashed Xposed Framework to their 6P's on Nougat.
I tried some Xposed modules like "PerfectColorBar" and the app called "Navbar Apps". Actually when I combined those above I could make the nav bar's background white in most situations but I just couldn't change status bar's background.
I don't have technical info to edit a file. I thought installing some XF modules would be enough :/
Use immersive mod, guide is at blog.alok.gq
I found the solution by using the pro version of flat style colored bars module's pro version.

Thanks a lot. As I told above, "Flat Style Colored Bars" solved my issue.

I'd like some info on hardcore system ui theming.

Hello folks,
Recently I have been super invested in the art style from Persona 5. I've got a wallpaper from KWLP, set notification sounds and I even have a boot animation of the loading screen of that game.
I would like to know if there is any way to theme my system UI even further by replacing icons on the notification bar, nav bar, quick settings and so on. App backgrounds will be great as well.
So far, I've rooted my phone with Magisk on stock OOS 11 and have access to EdXposed.
I can make the icons myself so that would be no issue.
If there is any known way, please link me to a guide if there is any.
Any help will be appreciated!
Not sure it's possible to learn how to theme from a response in a thread.
Might be easier to use a framework like substratum.
Xposed won't help, in fact it'll probably hurt more than anything.
See if substratum may help. Also look up building a substratum theme, there may be guides already out there for that.
If you're talking from scratch and with no knowledge, I think this will be a very long thread before you're ready to start.
Great that you want to do it yourself though, dive in and try some stuff.
Is it possible to use Substratum theme engine in a non rooted phone, without unlocking Bootloader??

No I don't think it is, I think it was at one point but something changed
Try the Evo X ROM, the theme possibilities are endless.
Excellent ROM
