Thanks .. their site is really Slow download though.
I uploaded the file to my AFH here > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24407100847292983

@CiSa ..... +1 to the above.
I started the download early afternoon and it took over 4 hrs to complete, however even allowing for the length of time taken to complete there were no errors.
Downloaders should note that the downloaded zip contains 2 files, one is the upgrade to be installed on the device via the SD card and the other which is an instruction sheet is in PDF format.

Hi @wimbet
Are you also going to support Non US devices? Or you are a member of Honor US team? How do we get development kick started on EU and Global variants?

Non-US devices can find support on the global site - http://www.hihonor.com/global/support/

Hey @wimbet, what does "Channel-Others" signify?

Quick question: I have a 5x which came with chinese firmware installed, the language has been changed to english but there are still a fair few parts which appear in chinese characters. Anyone know if it is possible to install the US firmware on this device through the upgrade service to 'fix' this?

MT7-TL10 B121 International Firmware

Ne firmware from Huawei Ru
http://consumer.huawei.com/ru/suppo...x.htm?id=36521&pname=MT7-TL10&pcode=Jazz-TL10
Release date 26/01
Should be for international TL10
No chance log
Has someone tested?
Just did the update. It went well, no problem, I'm yet to find any difference from the previous ones.
Does the phone, with it's very large screen, still show LESS information than a smaller phone? C'mon, the software on this thing totally sucks. I have a giant screen with such ridiculous font spacing, meaning I get less information on my 6-inch screen than I can get on a 5-inch model such as a P6. What kind of sad joke is this?
Does the new software fix this problem? If not, I have a mint Mate 7 for sale, used only long enough to see Huawei has made no progress with their software.

I'm from the Philippines and I downloaded the B121 firmware from the link above and flashed it on my phone, I extracted and put the dload folder in my external SD card and did a local update via the updater under menu options, nothing was erased after except for root, so I rooted my phone again via CWM.
By the way, I also have the MT7-TL10 32gb/3gb version and did not get any updates from the updater, i was also in B120 SP04 before I flashed the B121.

Why do you want to downgrade? I was having some thought on updating my firmware to that of the Chinese version.
You can flash the firmware manually through adb, you'll need to extract the firmware. There are other threads in here that discusses about that.
My Italian Mt7 TL10 failed b121 update
I tried locL update, from recovery and by Hisuite
All failed, didnt even start

I want to downgrade because the Chinese version has issues. I have owned many HW phones and running a Chinese load is always a PITA. I want a normal international load that does not perpetually harass me with Huawei store stuff, that does not provide its own broken Calendar and Mail app, and that lets me manage my SIM cards correctly since I need dual SIM support to work in a specific way.
Unfortunately, I read the instructions for installing an international load over top of a Chinese load. I don't want to root my device, have never rooted a device, don't know how, don't want to know how, etc. It seems I am stuck. Even if I changed my mind, the instructions are not newbie level, so I very much doubt I could follow instructions that are not step-by-step "press this", "type that", unless I devote a lot of research. I could buy a new phone for cheaper than the time I would invest in this.

Found Marshmellow Update Link for Honor 7
Hi,
I have purchased this phone but sadly its Model Number PLK-UL00 not PLK-L01. I have upgraded to the latest build EMUI4.0_PLK-UL00_6.3.1 which is Android Version 6.0.
My question is - can I upgrade to EU version of the firmware PLK-L01 B320 or less. All I want is to get rid of all the chinese apps and replace them with pure google + english ones. Please help
Can you make a banana milkshake with strawberries? You can't. Same with installing the European build Android on Indian, Chinese etc.

Hi - Indian firmware version starts with PLK-UL00IN. My mobile firmware version is PLK-UL00. Shouldn't I be able to upgrade to the India firmware.
My apologies to the admin in advance as I have posted similar question in a different thread. But this thread is more suitable to the topic. I am a novice when it comes to firmware.
I tried updating , it failed.. the software update guidelines.pdf which was part of the update states "software version control problems, you should firstly upgrade a transfer package provided by R&D." wher do i get that ?

Hi I updated it with the link provided. Did the archive download properly? Since it's an internal document, I don't think the package is available in public domain. You can check for the rollback package which is given in one of the threads. It might work. Or use the honor multi tool.
Btw, this update is 2 steps forward and one step back. Some good features like visitor mode have been removed. Call recording has become problematic. Previously, I could record easily using boldbeast call recorder. Settings are much more difficult to find. On the positive side, battery backup has jumped tremendously. Plugged out at 9.40 am today. My phone is still at 75 percent at 6.30 pm with moderate use. There is no doze mode setting but I think they have incorporated some features as I can see that phone goes into sleep when screen is off much more frequently. Also, the awesome themes that lollipop had are no more there. Not even the live wallpapers. Mixed feelings about the update overall.

Yeah I was on 160 and did a local update as you suggested. Better download it again. But frankly, I am finding the update more regressive than progressive.

I think many of us may not be aware as how to perform local update in honor 7 which has marshmallow installed on it. I have gone through it and understand how it feels when you download an update and while trying to find local update option update app. Its frustrating and discouraging too. But I could find the way to do it on some other site. Its simple and easy. Just see below.
How to Update
Unpack the firmware package on your computer.
Transfer the extracted dload folder to your phone’s microSD card.
Take a backup of your important stuff using Huawei’s native app.
Safely unplug the USB cable and turn your phone off.
Reboot while holding Vol Up + Vol down + Power for a few seconds. Release Power upon vibration.
Once the upgrade starts let go of the volume keys and allow the installation to proceed.
And enjoy

UK Honor 8 EMUI 5 / Android N BETA Test

Good news Honor 8 owners we are giving some of you the chance to help us test out EMUI 5 and Android N on your Honor 8. Sounds great yeah? Just remember this is going to be pre-release software, things may be broken, you may end up struggling to use your phone, but that's all good we want you to help us find & squash the bugs.
So what do you need to do to get the new stuff on your phone? Well that is easy, you install an app, enroll on the project and then towards the end of the month we will be pushing out the OTA to those that have had their applications approved.
So what do you need?
- An Honor 8 (FRD-L09)
- To be based in the UK.
- To have an active SIM card in your phone.
- To be on build number C432B131
- It cannot be bootloader unlocked, it cannot have a custom recovery or be rooted to receive the OTA.
You can get the APK for the BETA app & the guidelines for how to install and enroll here. Once downloaded install it on your phone, when you run the app on your phone you will be prompted to either log into an existing Huawei ID account (the one you use to download EMUI themes will do) or to create a new one, once done you can accept the terms
To enroll on the BETA test you will need to be on build number B131, an OTA to update UK Honor 8 from B120>B131 will be rolling out today, once you are on B131 you can enroll on the BETA test.
Numbers are limited, when we hit the limit of enrolled users that is it. This is a project to help find bugs and issues before the general rollout of future updates for the Honor 8. It is not a general public rollout. We will be hosting discussions here in the forums to discuss bugs etc and to post details about future updates for the BETA.
If you have problems either installing the APK, signing into Huawei ID or enrolling on the BETA please leave the following details below and we will get back to you.
Name:
Country you are using the phone in:
Current Build Number:
Model Number:
Issue:
Update – 18/11/2016
There are two new versions of the Huawei BETA APK have been made available for use in this BETA test for the Honor 8.
During the initial enrollment and rollout phases of the Android N BETA test across Europe a bug became apparent. With the initial version of the app, if a user was to update to Android N and then perform a factory reset, they would be unable to reinstall the app, meaning that they could no longer submit bugs. This bug was due to a slight incompatibility with the app and Android N.
So to solve this issue there are two new versions of the app, one for users running Android M and want to enroll on the BETA and another for users on Android N and who want to submit bug reports or to leave to the BETA project.
Whichever version you have please download the APK from the links below, copy it to your device and then install it using the file manager. These updated apps will overwrite your existing apps. If you are on Android N running the BETA app version V2.1.10 then you do not need to worry, just continue to use the app as you were and update the app once you are on Android N.
As mention there are two versions for you to use.
Beta 2.2.12 - Android N: This can be downloaded from here.
Beta 2.1.12 - Android M: This can be downloaded from here.
Any questions about the updated BETA APKs please leave comments below.
Update - 24/11/2016
Good news, for those users who want to go back to Android 6 (Marshmallow / EMUI 4) the rollback packages are now available for the FRD-L09 and FRD-L19 models, along with the FRD-L09C432B131 firmware for you to restore your Honor 8 to the state it was in before the BETA.
So you may be wondering how all of this works, basically you need to download two things, the rollback package and the Android M firmware. Below are the links for all of the files.
FRD-L09
FRD-L09 Rollback Package - Download from here.
FRD-L09C432B131 Android M Firmware - Download from here.
FRD-L19
FRD-L19 Rollback Package - Download from here.
FRD-L19C432B131 Android M Firmware - Download from here.
The rollback package contains two files, a dload folder containing an update.app and a PDF explaining the process. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PDF before you start the process, also ensure anything you may need is backed up beforehand as YOUR PHONE WILL BE RESET during this process. To do the rollback you need to extract the contents of the RAR file and move the dload folder onto the SD card on your phone, it cannot be put on the internal memory and the SD card cannot contain any other dload folders, update.app files or update.zip files. Follow the instructions in the PDF about how to flash the rollback firmware and then once the phone has rebooted you will be ready to flash the Android M firmware. Again follow the instructions in the PDF, extracting the dload folder from the compressed folder and moving it to your SD card. Follow the same method as before and your phone after a short period of down time will reboot onto build number C432B131.
Again any queries, questions or comments about any of the process mentioned here please leave a comment below.

I don't think Greece had beta tests previously. With OTAs I meant regular ROM updates.
Hope that Greece will eventually be part of the beta and the update in general.
After all, they say that EMUI 5 aesthetics are inspired by the Aegean Sea. It will be kinda a shame to not roll it out in Greece

Its because of the change in models and the changes depending on the carriers, sponsors etc.
Each model will have different update. So XDA beta can't happen unless there is only one variant across the globe.

This is bollocks, whole EU has the same model, FRD-L09. It is just easier for them to control the beta experience if they release it in closed of groups in only a few countries, because they can better tailor it to the carriers. But even if the beta isn't customised for local carriers it should work continent-wide, networks are using largely the same frequencies, give or take a few LTE bands.
So I still think, XDA betas could be done, was there enough interest from the manufacturer.

You have answer for your question yourself.
Beta is also customized for the carriers and according to local sponsors, Guideliness specific to that region. Its easy to speak about give and take etc... But for implementation, it is not possible.

Support for other variants will be added as it becomes possible to do so. (If anyone has a device they can donate to me for testing, it will help! PM me.)
Please keep discussion of Mate 9 Pro/Porsche usage of FunkyHuawei in this thread.
Make sure you only flash firmware compatible with your device! LON is Mate 9 Pro/Porsche. MHA is for the regular Mate 9.

Hi,
Currently i use LON-AL00, which is the Chinese variant. I would like to install an international rom or an english centric rom, which I would assume is the Middle east and porsche rom. So, my question is, would i be able to use your software to switch from LON-AL00 to Middle east or Porsche rom?
Thank you

I don't have a mate 9 pro so.i can't be sure. If you would like to be a tester I can probably get it working but you will most likely have the caveat of missing a few features like themes updates exchange sync and other things that go missing when the non matching regions firmware is installed.
If you are able to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP we can likely do better though.

I see. So, i'll be correct when i assume that cross switching of rom will cause some functions to not work such as themes, sync, and updates. In this case, i feel, its always better to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP, that way i can have a fully functioning phone. Actually, the only nuisance i have at the moment is with the Mandarin characters used in HiVoice app, Magazine unlock screen, and the launcher. So my next question is, is it possible for you to pull those apps from a different region's firmware that you provide, then have them replaced onto my current phone? This should remove the need for me to cross switch and/or unlock the bootloader.
If the above mentioned is not possible, Could you kindly provide me a link on how to unlock Huawei bootloader? I'm a samsung user, so this is my first experience with Huawei, so at the moment i am very clueless.

There actually is no HiVoice assistant except in Chinese in the Chinese firmware. The English version only lets you make a call.
Regardless these are system apps and part of the firmware so it's not possible to cross install from a different version. Unlocking the bootloader and using TWRP is your best bet. For a Chinese phone please look at the getting a bootloader unlock code for the details but you'll need to stay logged in to hicloud for 2 weeks and then get in touch with Huawei support, in Chinese language

Thank you for the quick help. I guess i have to wait for 14 days then apply for a bootloader code and then attempt to switch the roms region.

Hi all,
I have Mate 9 Pro 64 GB (LON-AL00), and runing on Chinese firmware. i want change to Middle East or any worldwide/international ROM. which one i should select from drop down from www.funkyhuawei.com? advise me please.
thanks for your work! i may wouldn't need it, but great job
Thanks to a lot of persistence from @Oweida who wanted to rebrand regardless of risk, I now have a preliminary solution to rebrand the Mate 9 Pro. We can rebrand any Mate 9 Pro to any version, but I recommend the LON-L29C636 version, which has the most firmware availability right now.
If you have a bricked Mate 9 Pro, or a Mate 9 Pro with an unlocked bootloader which you want to rebrand, please get in touch. You will need some kind of USB storage you can plug in with an mhl adapter, and knowledge of how to do things like set your DNS, and how to flash things in TWRP, etc. Right now, I am helping people rebrand to C636 spcseas version, which I can support the best in FunkyHuawei so far, but the next step will be rebranding to Porsche.
I know there were a few people in this thread with bricked Mate 9 Pro that they couldn't recover. Please get in touch with me if you want to attempt recovery/rebranding. Send me a PM, and let me know your user name on FunkyHuawei so I can set things up for you.
I might also mention that we can now rebrand the Mate 9 to any region we want, including USA, Japan, India, and even rebrand a Mate 9 to Mate 9 Pro (I have no idea why you'd want to, though.). The only problem is, there is no firmware available for most of these regions yet, so it's not something useful, just possible, at this point.
Hello I have LON-L29C636B124 which seems to be the asian international firmware however I am loacated in the middle east now and I don't get updates like others in europe (same model and same build number ) and asia who are now using the B156 firmware
I got a USB OTG but I still cant get any updates even with firmware finder proxy , I hope funkyhuawei can get my issue resolved

Mate 9 MHA-L09C316

Hi Guys
Just picked my new Huawei mate 9. So far so good..
But i have an issue with updates. My version is MHA-L09C316B150. Im checking for updates but the update system says i have the latest version.. I checked on this thread that the oreo update is out. Will i be able to update my phone to the MHA-L09 version listed here?
Also can someone explain what the C316 is? I see there is C33, C632 etc
Just to add, my device has the last security update from Jan 2017.. Wtf.. Why has no further updates been done..
Value after C in build number is region/localization.
List of known regions is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/regions-mate-9-region-codes-t3555086
But I didn't find C316.
Where are you from? Is your phone selling in stores or you got it from mobile operator by contract?
You can see available stock ROMs for your phone in Firmware Finder. Enter model MHA-L09C316 in search.
I did it, but FF did not find anything about your region. There are two options: stock ROMs for C316 are existing, but FF does not know where are they. Or Huawei did not post them to HiCloud.
If I have had phone with rare region, I will rebrand it to more popular region. It is too hard process for newbie. You have to read about unlock bootloader, TWRP, patched recovery, different models and regions. But staying on region C316 you may not receive any update even. By my experience, Huawei updates popular regions and does not care operator's versions.
As alternative you can ask provider (if phone by contract), write to Huawei or wait for update.
@ 5[Strogino] Thanks for feedback
Im from South Africa and yes the phone is on contract. Network is Vodacom which is part of Vodafone.. I dont understand why this stupid network didnt issue the international region as most phones come with European software installed or even middle east areas. I agree with you, i will have to rebrand my device. I have done flashing on samsung and LG phones but this is my first Huawei.. will read up on some posts and attempt.
was trying to update with Huawei updater 2.0 and hisuite, no luck.. gives me no internet connection error.. tried editing hosts file too but no luck
Finally managed to to install Android 8 and rebrand my device to europe firmware.. testing now.

It's an official beta, but still a beta.
Oreo for Mate 9 should arrive in December or January for everyone.
Right now you can only install beta by applying in Huaweis beta app, or cheat and use Hwota as you did
It's a very stable beta.
