Rapid Battery Drop / Not Fully Charging - Help Needed! - Elephone P7000

Hi All,
I've had my Elephone P7000 for a few months and was generally loving it (a few small bugs but nothing I can't live with).
Over the last few weeks i've had battery problems - to start the phone doesn't always charge to 100% overnight (on a high-powered charger) and I am now experiencing rapid drops in battery level (often drops from 30% to 0% in a minute). Pic attached.
I have tried resetting the phone, flashed to Aerom V3, replaced the battery and the problems still persist. My fear is that the hardware of the phone which detects battery levels is faulty and is making me want to change phones.
Has anybody experienced similar problems with Elephone or Android in general? Are there any fixes?
Thanks,
James

If u r having this issues across ROMs then something is wrong within the panel and that could b probably the charging cct being faulty.

Use original cable and original loader - and the phone will charge within 3,5-4h
With non original cables on original wall chargers - during 7h not full loaded.
On a non original high power wall charger with original cable - there is a chance.
I'm using a high power charger (6 port USB / 50W) it works, if I use a SAMSUNG cable.

[Q] battery won't charge

My device has the charging icon on the battery picture at the top but the battery level itself isn't increasing. After 4 hours on charge with no use it is still on 13% as it was before I tried charging it. The battery level isn't decreasing when in charge either. The wire itself is a bit broken would the cause the problem and should I just buy a new lead or is it likely to be a problem with the device/ battery ?

Do you mean the charging cable is damaged? If that's the case I would definitely start there and try a different charger first.

had a lot of issues with the original charger cable, it did not connect very well. using another charging cable from my phone solved the issue. btw my charger itself well was overcharged I guess and now I can;t use it anymore. but enough other ones are laying around.
Solved - Battery won't charge
Like many others I've had charging problems with my Nexus 7 since it was almost new. It would intermittently not charge (even though the display indicated it was) or charge very slowly. I tried every suggestion listed in the forums that didn't involve opening the tablet. None of them made any difference. The charging issue gradually became worse until a couple of months ago when the battery wouldn't charge at all while the tablet mocked me with it's cheerful charging indicator.
For my tablet the problem was solved by changing the USB connector in the tablet. It took 20 minutes, cost $10 delivered (on Ebay) and is now working fine.

[Q] Not charging after battery got drained completely.

Somehow voltage shown by my spike guard was lower than generally shown. I kept phone on charge for almost 3 hours but after that when i removed battery was still below 15%, at same point when i had started charging.
I was showing that phone is charging but still no increase in % of battery.
After that phone battery got drained as i was busy doing something else and didn't kept phone charging.
Now when i plug in charger for initial some time red light blinks and then nothing happens.
I kept phone in charge for almost 2 hours and nothing,
I used wall plug charged, connected to PC both. same result.
can anyone help?

Hi,
I figured out our GIONEE chargers are no better than cheap chinese ones. SO try with some other better quality charger from LG, MOTO or SAMSUNG and it will get charged.

Ya I tried with samsung too... but no response... So when used other standard chargers , your mobile got charged.. The same Gionee charger and other charger is able to charge my other mobiles but this isn't

Gionee phone not charging even when connected and showing charging
Hi Everyone,
I faced the the similar issue recently, I dont know why's and how's about the cause... But, I figured out that the phone starts charging when Airplane Mode is Turned ON. I suspect it to be an Android Issue as I have read same complaints from Android users having phones of different makes.
Hope that we will get a patch or may be its fixed in the newer versions of Android.
My Android Version is 4.4.2
Hope this would be of some help to you.
Cheers!!!
Dear Friends,
I am facing the same problem while my gionee m2 is not charging properly... Only showing charging but battery percentage not increased. My Android Version is 4.2.2

Yotaphone 2 not charging

Hi all,
Since the Lollipop update my battery life has been pretty terrible, and the device seems to have run much hotter than previously. The battery hit about 16% by 5pm today, so I plugged it in as normal, just as the update claiming to improve standby battery usage popped up, but the phone wouldn't acknowledge the cable being connected. I've tried different cables, different plugs, tried connecting it to my PC etc and nothing. The battery hit 1% and the phone switched off and is now dead.
Since the battery is not removable, I guess a warranty replacement/repair is my only option at this point, with all my stuff lost.
Anyone got any bright ideas?
Try the new update

I can't, the device is dead!
The only solution I see is contact mother Russia and ask for support or a replacement.

You could flash the latest update via download mode (which would save you from the power hog that is Lollipop), but if the device outright refuses to charge, even from the wall outlet which gives you more power than USB, then you are out of luck.
It's always possible that the phone has been somehow damaged, but I do not necessarily believe that.
TLDR: see at bottom of post...
Since the (initial) Lollipop update, I've had pretty terrible battery life, too. I do happen to have a couple of games that exert a great toll on battery life, and what's strange is that I remember, in the pre-Lollipop days, being able to run the game on my Yotaphone plugged to a USB charger and have the bettery recharge, slowly but steadily. Since the update, I've noticed that the phone, plugged to the very same USB charger, would continue to drain the battery instead of charging while I played the game.
The funny thing is that I decided to install the game on an Android tablet so that I coud keep playing while making sure that the phone's battery would get topped off when I'd leave my desk, and the tablet (LG G Pad 8.3) has shown the very same behavior (i.e. the battery depleting while playing plugged to the USB charger), so I strongly suspect that it's a Lollipop issue more than a Yotaphone issue.
I've read somewhere that Lollipop, amongst other "features", exhibits a bug where the data connection will not time-out as it should, so the device actually remains with a more or less permanent live data connection, contributing greatly to reduce the battery life. Give that the aforementioned games are online games, I'm more than ready to believe in the existence of such a bug.
TLDR: if the battery dies completely, it can take quite some time for it to reharge enough to power-up the device properly. I'd leave your Yotaphone connected to a USB charger for a whole night, for instance, and see if that helps. Trying another charger (preferably 2 Amp, instead of the normal 0.5 Amp delivered by a USB cable), and/or another USB to micro-USB cable (preferably a short one, the longer it is the less efficient it is, generally), and see if that changes anything.
If that still fails to le the device restart, you're certainly out of luck and should contact Yota for a replacement (it is certainly covered by warranty, new as this phone is).
Hope this helps, let us know if you can bring it back from dead-phones-land!
or maybe some contacts at the usb port are brocken. did you try a qi wireless charger?

Battery charging issue

Hello,
since September I have charging problems with my Oppo Find 5.
Sometimes when I charge with a power supply it doesn't charge, it decreases then or stays at the same level.
I tried several different cables and chargers, but I coundnt find a connection to the charging behavier and the charging devices I used.
Tonight it was switched off and connected to the standard charger but switching it on in the morning: 0 %...
I'm using Cyanogenmod (Android 5.0.2), I thought of flashing another rom, maybe that will do it...
Has somebody another idea or has similar expiriences?
Best regards,
gragib
Hi... I had the same problem some wks ago. I think there is a mechanical issue, but I don't understand. Now I return to the official CM12 (the best ROM for my experience) and the charge is ok.
Maybe change the connector.

Charging speed super slow! (~8hours to fully charge)

Hey Guys,
I really dont know what to do anymore.
My OPT needs 8 hours+ to fully charge everytime!
If I use my OPT to watch Videos it even drains faster than it charges.
The strange thing is if i shut it down and let it charge in the shut down mode ( with only battery visible on screen). The Charge time goes down to less than 2h. So a very normal charge time, that I experienced before.
It started the strange behaviour after i had OOS3 installed for 2+ weeks and never gone back.
Things i tried:
different roms: OOS2, OOS3, CM13, Exodu. Currently I am on Hydrogen OS-
different kermels: Boeffla, Sandy, AK, Stock.
different firmwares and recoveries (I know its useless but i tried everyhing)
wiping complete phone and reinstalling from 0 several times.
different cables / adapters and wall chargers. (Normaly using a 5-port 40w anker charger with anker cable. Every other config like car charger or orginal power adapter&cable same problem).
I have no problems with other devices like my tablet, powerbank, nintendo 3ds, Videogame controllers,... And even the OPT works but only if i shut it down.
I observe this problem now since the start of this month. Its so annoying i am basicly forced to have a power bank always with me.
I really hope you can help me
Could it be an update for one of your apps that has made the app run wild causing it to put phone under constant use? What does battery stat tell you about battery usage? Tried installing system monitor to check on installed apps and how much CPU time the use?
I googled alot and found something about ES File explorer that messes with charging. I deleted it now,
Other thatn that i only installed very common apps like whatsapp.... I dont think its the apps but its worth a try.
Running complete stock for 1 day with no 3rd party apps and recharge.
Same here...some voltage problem in your home....try charging turning phone off.
i would suggest you to use a voltage stabilizer in between your wall plug and your charger,
the one that you normally used for desktop pc

Same issue here. Tried every sort of things. Was initially on CM13 Seraph08, moved to Grarak, then back to OOS3. No improvements, as the OP mentioned the issues are observed from the month of May. It takes 7-8 hours to charge 100%. Did anyone approached service center?
Have your also tried different cables and chargers? As quality of the cables that came with the phone can differ, and also the chargers. Some chargers seems to barely be able to output 1A even, nearing USB:s 800mA charging.
i also having same problem check the charger and cable if u r in oxygen os factory test mode
So most of the answers havent read my first post prolly.
I finally got the OnePlus sup to exchange my phone. With the new one i have no more charging problems.
So i think it was a hardware defect but I am not 100% sure.
how did u get the exchange of the phone ??
was it rooted ??
if it is having a custom recovery will they reject the warrenty ??
please reply asap
Just an observation, Benschholds kernel seems to have fastcharge support. See this recent commit in his source:
https://github.com/benschhold/andro...mmit/b5d1eed20c12a9e9db5128ace98efa51b0a97e19
I noticed these values aren't updated in the AOSPA kernel source for our device, so I'm going to try flashing this kernel and see if it works with AOSPA.
Edit: interesting, the stock OOS2 and 3 kernels do not have these values. So this may not help, or maybe it does, who knows.
Edit2: I tried to flash Benschholds on AOSPA and it DOES NOT WORK! I had to flash the old boot.img using fastboot to fix boot loop.
i had the same problem
i also tried many ROMs and kernels, no help
but now it's fine i'm using another cable
just change the cable(not the charger head)
right now i'm using nexus 6p cable (borrowed)
A friend was having this issue, he said he fixed uninstalling clean master app

Yea same issue in Exodus ROM.. Oxygenos 3 didn't have any issues lyk this..
No need for fastcharge in this case, OP2 can already suck almost 1,5A by default and that is a significant number, if connected to original or similar charger with high current output of at least 2A. There are ways to see exact number, like in kernel config apps (Boeffla does it for sure) or by installing apps like Ampere. Compare your cables and charger adapters
Same issue!
My Op2 used to take around 2.5 hrs to completely charge .. Just after i installed cyanogenmod 13 my charging capacity got tooo bad. Its taking more than 5hrs to charge the device. After changing roms from cm13 the battery capacity has not Changed
According to me due to some issue in cm13 the battery charging time has become too bad. Please help currently on oxygen os 3.5.8.. when i use my
phonr while charging at times it evn discharges. Tried moto g4 plus charger due to which the charging time reduced a
bit.

Oneplus 2 was never designed to be Fast Charge ready.
I've had problems like: random reboots, slow charging, battery drain. But after flashing the (considered most stable) 3.1.0 firmware + Boeffla kernel everything was ok again.
But you probably tried it already I guess.
