1. your phone’s model number should be SM-G920F or SM-G925F. Note : ( make sure you’re using an unlocked version of the phone. )
2. check if your device’s current firmware has the proper BTU product code. To do this, you can download this handy Device Info app from the Play Store. Go to the section, then check out the Product Code. The Product Code should have BTU mentioned after the phone’s model number.
3. If there is a BTU code mentioned after the model number download the Galaxy Care app from the Galaxy Apps store on your phone.
Here please take a moment ( Must Read : If your phone doesn’t have the BTU code mentioned after the model number on your device or you want to install Android 6.0 on a device outside the UK Please Read This Guide. Once your device has booted into the newly flashed firmware, just follow the given steps to get the Android 6.0 software. )
4. Open Galaxy Care. Once you pass the welcome screen, swipe through until you see the “Participate Galaxy Beta Program” tab. Here, click the Join button.

The beta program has been closed for quite some time now?
Tapatalked.

I'd probably disregard this guide as beta program is closed now whether you signed up previously or sign up now

[Q] Help/Questions regarding rooting Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 4.4.2

Hi all,
It has been a few years since I rooted my last Android device and I seem to be having some difficulties in rooting my current Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 running Android 4.4.2.
Please see attached screenshot of my phone Baseband version, build number, etc.
Are there any supported root methods for my device?
How important is the build number/baseband version when attempting to root?
I seem to be able to find root info for similar devices although quoting a different build number etc.
I attempted to use the chain fire auto root and selected the root file for the Qualcomm international and it did flashed in Odin and showed PASS but did not grant SU privileges.
Luckily my phone was fully functional after a hard reset, although I am wondering whether these methods of rooting are still working for my version of Note 3.
Is there a possibility that it is not possible to root my SM-N9005 due to the particular build number?
I have attempted to search around for any useful threads, although I am not having any luck.
Can anyone even suggest a method which I could investigate further, or even possibly direct me to an existing thread which may prove useful?
Thanks in advance,
Alex.
For ease of reference my build number is:
KOT49H.N9005XXUENE3

All I am after is SuperUser privileges for various purposes - not looking to flash any custom ROM or anything of the sort at this stage.
ANY HELP AT ALL WOULD BE AWESEOME!
Here are some additional details from the Phone Info app:
This would make me assume that using CF-AutoRoot should work using the file:
SM-N9005 (International Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
Is this correct?

Please post the following information:
1. Model Number
2. Android Version, found by going to Settings > More > About device.
3. Firmware Version (AP, CP, CSC), found by dialing *#1234# in the dialer or by installing Phone Info from the Play Store and running it.
4. Service Provider
5. Country
6. Is the phone rooted? (Yes/No)
7. Is a custom ROM installed? (Yes/No, and the name of the ROM)
There may not be an Android 5.0.1 ROM available for your area as of yet, but if you can post the relevant information above, it will greatly aid in searching.

[Q] Need some information about I9502 (Samsung galaxy S4 Dual)

I had purchased an I9502 through olx.in, last week.
Second hand.
Due to rare users, there is no dedicated thread on XDA for my device
Now, many questions arises.
I had updated to official lollipop (5.0.1), by SAMMOBILE's official ROM. After upgrading, my second SIM cant connect to network. So I revert back it to KK (4.4.2). Still the problem persists !!!!! . I couldn't use it as a dual sim phone Is PDA and CSC version is important while flashing? or we could install any PDA/CSC rom version on samsung phones? I don't know the original ROM so, I had downloaded all firmwares available at sammobile and tested. only 2 of them managed to register my SIM(first) on network. Is it a hardware issue? or by a wrong ROM ? anyway now my mobile admitted at hospital and specialized doctors have been studying his disease
Is there anyone using dual SIM without any errors?
The PDA and CSC are vital to ensure you get the right regional variant for your device. The only exception is if the phone is unlocked for use on another carrier, in which case you can use a ROM from any region. Where you have the dual SIM version however, you only have one region available to you, but with multiple Android versions. The firmware here is the latest for your device. Do a factory reset before flashing through Odin.
I am totally disappointed.
My technician said that it had lost IMEI !

What will I do?
Is there anyway to recover its IMEI?
I had followed all guidelines available through search.
But, I couldn't...
Please help me on this....
Flash just the modem through Odin. You can extract it from the firmware download. Sometimes the modem needs to be flashed twice before everything functions correctly.
Other than that, I'm not aware of anything else software-wise that can be done. You'll need to take the phone to Samsung themselves and have them look at it.

Help me figure this out

Hey I just bought my galaxy note 4 from my country's carrier yesterday and it started with lollipop right out of the box and it had some issues like old galaxy apps which wouldnt update so I did factory reset and solved that out. I find it not normal that it wasn't running kitkat. And I also noticed that my basedband version differs from my build number. What does this mean exactly? Also there is a section at the bottom of my about device which says configuration version not available. Please good ppl help me out to figure this out. And just to repeat, the device is bought from the official carrier's store. I'm applying screen shots .

[FAQ] General FAQ about Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Verizon

I'm starting this thread to continue collecting all necessary information about Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Verizon version mobile phone. This thread is aimed as continuation of currently closed sibling thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/guide-to-note-4-wip-t2939288.
Ask any questions below and I'll add most common questions to this post.
Information relevance: 02/27/2016
Let's start from main information:
Verizon version of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910V) is carrier version from Verizon, based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU and has wide cellular support: GSM, CDMA, LTE.
It is carrier unlocked from the factory - you can use SIM card of any carrier
It has two versions: Retails Edition (RetEd) and Developer Edition (DevEd)
It's likely that you have RetEd. You can check it in the Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power)

RetEd has locked bootloader and write protection on system partition. That means, that you CAN NOT flash custom ROM, kernel, modifications. Also, there is NO permanent root solution.
Temporary unstable root is available for RetEd both Android Kit Kat and Lollipop via KingRoot 4.8.1. It disappears after reboot.
You can flash any custom firmware to DevEd, including permanent root, but be careful with OTA updates - they may update you to locked bootloader and you'll get Retail Edition.
There is Knox Trip flag. It's 0x0 by default, but once you tried to flash custom firmware - it will set to 0x1. Your warranty is void in this case, and It's impossible to revert that flag back. Also Knox software will stop to work on that cell phone.
Yes, most cool nuts from in this forum are only for DevEd, and not available for RetEd.
Any comments and suggestions are welcomed.
Can someone with Android 5.1.1 and Retail Edition try this APK and place report here: https://github.com/nowsecure/android-vts. I wonder how many vulnerabilities they fix comparing with 4.4 and 5.0.1? I would appreciate it.
