Therefore,Asus Zenfone Max this time sells at $139.99 with large 5,000mAh battery, will it compete with other smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 3?

I think the xiaomi redmi 3 is better, i buy it today, so i waiting.

It seems that more and more mobiles equipped with large battery nowadays.
Just wondering how the performance.

Battery 5000 is very cool but ... adreno 306 and this soc don't convince me.
I will wait how it run.
Anyway, $139.99 seems a good price for me

of course , the performance is nice, it uses Snapdragon MSM8916 Quad Core 1.2GHz chipset, as you know Snapdragon chipset is better and more expensive than MTK chipset.

yeah, it seems it has become the tendency, as you know ulefone power has 6050mAh battery, oukitel k10000 has 10000mAh battery, xiaomi redmi 3 has 4000mAh battery, now it's Asus zenfone max has 5000mAh battery. I guess it has become more hot in its battery.

Now no one will complain about battery finish in a day problems.
Use it in heavy apps or over WiFi without thinking about battery.

Have you used this smartphone, Asus zenfone max? It has 5,000mAh battery, it can't be used so quickly in one day.

I am using Redmi Note 3 and I think its lot better than this one. I think fingerprint is also missing in Asus, whereas RN3 has one of fastest fingerprint scanner.

That's not a problem imho, it's more than enough for 1 day so why would you need to swap it.

Any idea how to root the zenfone max? There's over 40 apps bloating the phone that I want to get rid of.

Anyone have issues with the GPS in the USA

OTG support is being worked on and needs a custom kernel. Someone added OTG support to 1 of the models of Honor 5x but it is not available for all yet. I think it works on KIW-L21.
As far as Fast charging I think the fastest this device charges is about 1hr 40min even with a Fast charge cable/charger. I do not miss Fast charging one bit seeing how the battery on this phone is best I have ever seen. You have to be gaming "hard" to kill this battery in a day IMO.
does honor 5x's camera supports manual mode? planning to get this device.
The battery has been incredible for me. No worry on fast charging so far. Charging is just fine lol. I just have not needed it. I have not really come close to killing it in a day.

New Edgeless Mi Max with SD 821

A new Mi Max (apparently to be called MIX) is to be released in November with an edgeless screen and Snapdragon 821. Link here.
It looks gorgeous, I may have to get one, but I'm hoping that the news about the MIUI9 and N update for the Mi Max isn't specifically for this version and not the existing hydrogen/helium versions. I wonder what the battery will be like with the 821 instead of the 650/652 too? I think it looks a little thicker from the photos, so it will be interesting to see if that is down to the edgeless screen and fitting the internals in or whether it sports a bigger battery!
If anyone has any more info then please post it here, I'm interested
here's some info http://m.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_teases_mi_mix_concept_with_borderless_display-news-21282.php .thats some innovative stuff.virtually its a concept phone which you can buy.if it transalates to commercial success xiaomi will be seen in a new light as oem that is capable of putting out innovative hardware in a sleek shell.few oem's would dare to market such bold ideas.but im loving it,im tired of seeing the same old boring designs and this is some refreshing stuff.if xiaomi keeps this up, im sure it will be elevated to the status of mainstream oems like samsung, sony etc.actually i bought the mi max a few days back and im enjoying it,for the 250$ i paid it looks and PERFORMS like a 400$ product.only thing i feel lacking is kernel sources,if xiaomi releases them the development would take off and we could put the nice hardware to good use

Thanks for that link, it really does look impressive. I'm also very happy with my current Mi Max but this new MIX looks exceptional, I'm loving it as well... I'm tempted to get one if the first reviews to come in seem good. It's going to be hard resisting the temptation to buy it!
heres a hands on video http://bgr.com/2016/10/26/xiaomi-mi-mix-hands-on-video-shows-off-smartphones-crazy-edgeless-future i think performance isnt going to be a problem as its powered by sd821,battery too is also going to be great coz of the 4400mah capacity.only availability is going be a hindarance as initial reports say its going to be limited to china.heres an article discussing the matter http://m.androidcentral.com/xiaomi-mi-note-2-mi-mix-china . but we have resellers for that
It's going to be in a price bracket double that of the Mi Max so I'm pretty happy with this current model.
Yeah... Double price, less cores, less battery, has no ear speaker... I'll pass...
Apprently that's to scale.

Looks awesome, and I hope it's the future of the way phones go in terms of bigger devices.
That being said it's not really worth the price compared to a Mi Max - the #1 feature is definitely the form factor but the Mi Max seems like it's a better spec'ed device.

that put my fears to rest , coz if u moved on to a newer device, we would have missed a friend to help us with our device, coz frankly without you and ajsmsg78 a bug free ROM would still be a distant dream,as no one other than you is involved in squashing the bugs
This is not MI MAX, this is MI MIX. Other name, other hardware, other design, just 6.4" too...
BTW beautiful but very expensive device. And maximum 10.000 pieces/month, so it will be difficult to buy.
It is expensive. I'm going to hold off I think too, I've had chance to calm myself down... I'm very bad at impulse decisions/purchases haha. It is very beautiful though, I hope it works well and gets the plaudits it needs to push design forward.
BTW, Mi MIX has awesome price for the specs and design.
it's not a fair comparison btw, the max is a mid-range while the mix is a flagship specs. obviously the price difference is huge. but the innovations in the mix are price worthy and some of those technologies we are gonna see in most of next year's flagship phones.

great phone with good price. this is from oneplus mail: "North American fans can buy their phones starting at 12:01 AM EDT on November 22. Sales for our fans in Europe open at 12:01 AM GMT on November 28."
3,400mAh battery size is a GREAT improvement, and 6GB RAM standard, and the SD821 is good too, ( bit not a big improvement over the SD820 )
All of this for almost have the price of the Pixel XL. This is what a Nexus device should be like, and affordable phone, with near flagship specs. I'd take this $439 phone, over the $800 PIXEL XL any day, way more value for your buck, and the custom ROM scene is very good on the OnePlus phones.

AMOLED or LCD Display? Before the launch it was stated that Oneplus has supply issues with AMOLED and the rumor was a switch for the 3T. Now if you look at the spec sheet it does not state, right under display it's the rear camera that say Optic AMOLED (sneaky). Personally I'm not buying on launch anyway if it's not AMOLED> I'll wait for the reviews to come in. Anyone know?
Its Optic AMOLED just their version of Super AMOLED
Taken directly from their site:
"Our 5.5” Optic AMOLED display produces incredibly vivid and lifelike colors. Custom-engineered gamma corrections create a more natural viewing experience, while a dual-polarizing layer ensures clarity, even in bright sunlight. The end result? Deep blacks, bright whites, and authentic color reproduction - all at a fraction of the power consumption. It’s the smarter smartphone display."

I'm wondering what's the Wi-Fi specs? Not talking the basic "Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac" but maximum connection rates and whether it's a 1x1 antenna or if it has more? I asked this on the OnePlus forums but everyone there is just complaining about timing and cost.

I have a bad feeling it will be the quick charging 3.0. s7 used 2.0

2.0
^ This. There's been images going around about it being 2.0, as well as people saying it when they're unboxing the device.
Samsung's always used their own Adaptive Fast Charging mechanism since a Qualcomm solution obviously wouldn't work on Exynos phones.
From GSMArena...
Samsung is still sticking with its Adaptive Fast Charging solution. Frankly, it does a good job topping the 3,500mAh battery in about 90 minutes. There is also support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0.

That's an accessory when I bought the Note 7. It's a 25W charger they had which I kept. Didn't want to send it back for a refund as I figured there would eventually be other devices that would use it.

I've seen this before. But I don't know (and don't think) it charges the Note 7 at 25W. Still limited to 15W.
Only the Samsung pro tablets charge at 25W.

Back when it had the Note 7 for sale it was a selling point that it would charge the Note 7 faster. Not 100% sure if it was true because by the time I got it the Note 7 were recalled twice. Since they stopped selling the Note 7 they change the verbiage.

Just got the MI 9T in the USA AMA

I am using it on ATT and have 3g hspa+. I can watch Youtube and Netflix. I have installed a 3rd party launcher with app drawer. I also installed the Gcam mod from the MI 9 forum and it is fantastic.
I'm about to bite the bullet for the Mi 9T very soon. Could you show some picture samples with the Gcam mod, I want to see how much better the google camera will make it on this device. In addition, how's the battery life in terms of SOT?

Too soon to tell about battery life. I will upload some pics later.
Does it hold up to its hype?
First day using at work. I work in a box store that has a metal roof. I was surprised by the cell reception. There are LTE bands on this phone that are not in the specs. I used LTE Discovery app and I found that this phone works on Straightalk (ATT) bands 2,4 and 5. I was able to use LTE data for my entire workday. I had 3hrs SOT with 64% battery at the end of my workday. I am pleased with the battery life and connectivity so far.

Coming from a Mate 20X the smaller size was the biggest challenge . I use a 3 party launcher and excluded a few key apps from it's agressive battery management.
Mate 20x looks impressive why did you decide on the 9T instead.?

Netflix in HD?
Can you check and tell if Netflix is running in HD or not?
You can search for the "test pattern", play the video and wait for few seconds and tell us the resolution it shows on the top.
Thank you!
Can you address the lack of the Laser Auto Focus in the camera compared to the k20 pro ... Have you encountered any trouble with the focus while using the camera?

I have not encountered any issues. I mostly use the Gcam except for wide angle shots.

Hi there.
Can u share which one mi9 apk that works great on Mi 9T? i prefer gcam that can switch between 3 camera and working night sight if possible
Also, Mi 9T is using UFS 2.1 or emmc? no info about the storage type in the gsmarena
can someone please list of all the bands 3g and LTE on the 9T model, i am looking to get this in canada
No offense but this wide angle shoot is quite disappointing or rather say inferior. Looking at the edges of the screen especially. Too bad, I'm still thinking buying this phone as the main camera should rock.
