You should buy RN Note 5 Pro. A1 and Note 4 are old now.
If you have rn4 now why would you ask whether to buy this phone again if you're pretty familiar with it? Wtf?
Anyway, I have both of them and if I was going to sell one that would have been rn4 as I prefer mi a1
I would go for the Note4, bigger battery and cheaper
But at the end of the day, it depends what YOU want ... battery-life, price, newer OS, MIUI ....

Just read carefully
as I mentioned above, mine is a MTK processor, and I'd like to shift to Snapdragon for wider range ROMs choices
The most important thing, you said that you would to sell the RN4 rather than mi a1,, why?
I have both, rn4 has better battery, a1 has better camera. Depends on your needs.

Actually, my biggest concern about A1 is the battery, maybe the only concern!

Im getting about 4/5 hours on the a1, rn4 was 8-10 hours. That would make sense if the battery was half the size (which it isn't!)
I would suggest saving a bit longer and getting the rn5 china or rn5 pro.

Getting about 8.5 h SOT on my a1. Something must be wrong with your A1. Maybe some app is abnormally draining battery?

Why would I pick mi a1 over rn4:
- I like it's build quality and design more
- I like clean system without miui

Yeah hoping the same. Currently i am using Redmi Note 5 Pro for the past one and half month and i am loving it. Its just that because of few nifty features and additions i wanna move to asus max pro that too with 6gb variant so that atleast camera is at par with note 5 pro.

Yes, as mentioned in the article above which I also happened to pass-by myself, there is now a petition on Change.org going on for Xiaomi to pick up their stuff when it comes to updates for the Mi Mix 3 5G: https://www.change.org/p/xiaomi-corporation-upgrade-mi-mix-3-5g-flagship-to-miui-11
