gv08s - Other SmartWatches

Hello,
I have bought the gv08s, and i am very happy with it.
Nice and good design, nice screen and good battery.
But only bad thing is bluetooth connection.
It is very weak and lose connection when i am like, 3 meters away from phone
Is there any solution for it, like going in secret menu or flashing a new rom on it?
Thanks

It could be yur phone here, check the distance connecting your phone by Bluetooth to the computer, you'll see if the distance is the right one, or check with another phone, just then you can judge
There is no settings or firmware for powering BT, *#3646633# or *#993646633# - in engineer menu you can change protocols, but this will not help you at all

The phone is good, its a new phone.
When i connect my phone with my bluetooth speaker or another phone ,i can go much further then 10 meters.
I read somewhere that the bluetooth is a problem with this watch.
I was thinking, maybe someone has a solution for this.

You could try another firmware but I'm not sure if is compatible Aplus GV08, I wouldn't try, if the bootloader is different you brick your watch forever

Get please in phone info (*#8375# or *#998375#) and give me version, branch and build time
As well, get in engineer menu (*#6346633# or *#993646633#) and there has to be some hardware info, check if there you have the flash ID
If something is incompatible in the best case the flashing will not start, the worst your bootloader will load wrong file, and phone gets bricked when tries conn between hardware and drivers...imagine, phone bricked and the modem (com port) is full inactive . . .
Very important, before any flashing do Readback from 0x00000000 to 0x01000000 - in this way if something is not working (is happening even for phones from same series because different hardware) you can go back to original firmware
Now I read that this watch has display IPS and camera off 2MP, If it is true then is not the same PCB even if the processor is the same

Hello guys!
Today I received my pressumably GV08S watch that I bought a couple of weeks ago from Aliexpress. The goddamn seller said on the description that the watch featured a Mediatek 6160A processor, but, in reality, I think I ve received a knock off. Why am I saying that? Well, the damn thing has a spartan menu, there are no themes options, like I saw in some reviews on youtube, there is no notification bar when sliding from up to down and the examples may continue. I had an argument with the seller who said the watch is original, I got agravated so I am gonna open up a dispute...that little s..h...i...t. got me out of my minds. The problem is that being nervous, I tried to flash other rom on the watch and I saw that it only accepts MTK 6261 software in the limit of 32 mb. Being nervous, I didn t make a backup of the original software so now the watch is kinda useless. Can u help me with the original version of the software? This are some tehnical date which I extracted from the secret menu:

Where can I find a suitable rom for this s...h...i...t? Thank you in advance and sorry for my french but I am damn agravated by that little rice eating motherlover that mislead me into buying this crap.
Have a great day and greetings from Romania!

think I have received a clone t3232 =-(

Gday all.. Think I have received a clone of a HTC T3232 from ebay, its even in HTC covers, how bad's that! (dispute in progress).
It does not respond to the HTC reset method (volume down & enter while switched off, and the small reset button at same time) so I can only presume its a clone.
Anyway the main problem is screen calibration, its out by miles, I cant even use the slide bar down the right hand side of screen.. I have done the calibration about 20 times via display settings and it does not help, the best reset I can do is via the clear memory tab in settings, that didnt fix it either.. Im not sure what its issue is, cant even figure out what sort of phone these "ripoff merchants" have sent me..
Any help would be much appreciated & thanks for reading my post

I think (and I could be wrong) that its volume down and enter then the power button for the touch 3g.
yes I tried that to, doesnt seem to work.. this is why im wondering if this thing is a HTY or something similar to a HTC, in HTC covers.. quite a letdown ..
the digitizer is miles out of wack .. is there a chance this is a rom issue or would the touch pad its self be shot ?
I've read somewhere about a clone having a different brand processor, check your system information:
start -> settings -> hardware
The real thing has the qualcomm 7225
Try to download an official rom update from the htc website. You will have to enter the serial-number of your device. If they deliver the download to your pc, you can be pretty sure it is not a fake one...
Is it not vol+ vol- and the power button all at the same time for hard reset?
Ok thanks guys, getting somewhere but its not all good, it has a Marvell pxa300 624MHZ CPU
one of the first things I tried a few days ago was updates from the HTC site, and it did NOT accept my serial number, so I think its a clone for sure. so my question is, will origional HTC software work on this clone if I download it from this site, OR will it not work because of the different processor ?
Should I even bother flashing the ROM as the opsys seems to be working fine, just the digitizer is out by miles, I ran DigItest last night and the screen was not always responding in the correct spot, correct maybe 50% of the time and the other 50% of the time it was miles out. almost NOnresponsive around the edges of the digitizer.
The seller I got it from also sells digitizers for this model lol.. I have to wonder if he didnt try to repair this phone from new, maybe a factory second or something ..
So guys whatya think?, flash rom, or grab a new digitizer from the 3bay ?
You got a clone for sure. But if you have buy it for less money i think its obvious its a clone. I got a clone too but i'm very happy with mine. No hardware issues for now, only some hard resets. I think you cant put a original ROM on a clone or can you? Btw in the phone info if for the model you got T3238 then you can be 101% sure its a clone
P.S. Btw the clone dont have build in GPS.
ok, yeah its t3238.. im prety sure it has inbuilt gps, they a$$ured me it did, but anthings possible im yet to test it coz the digitizer screens annoying me to much, dont want to even attempt to try and use it until I fix it.
Dont think the HTC rom works but im not 100% sure, im not used to these phones & there ways yet, still pretty much learning !
well, did you buy a clone or did you buy the real tough 3g? what did the presentation look like? i mean if the presentation lied to you, you did not pay money for the clone but for the real thing. then you might be able to redo the contract with the seller... maybe... good luck!
found the clone!
http://www.cectunlocked.com/OEM-HTC-Touch-3238-3232-Quad-Band-Phone-with-Windows-Mobile-6.1-WiFi-GPS.html
well...
ahh its a spitting image of a HTC, its in HTC covers, with HTC written all over it, apart from one spot I found inside the rear cover its clearly marked HTY.
The seller I used on 3bay told me it was a HTC not a clone, his discription was very deceiving. The phone turned up in a HTC box, with a HTC disc & HTC instructions, batterys and all other accessories INCLUDING THE BOX lol are all origional HTC products, apart from the phone its self! .. the phones a cheap ripoff - in a HTC box. go figure..
Still wondering if it needs a digitizer or the rom flashed..
I've also recently received a 3238 model which i believe to be cloned. It's in Chinese and i want to flash it to English but am unable to perform a HardSpl. If i hold down volume and press the on button i just get a screen that says ''USB update mode'' nothing happens if i try to run v4.1. If i try to run a new ROM i get error [206] unable to connect. Anyone have any ideas on how to get an English ROM onto it? Any advice would be much appreciated!
thers a seller on ebay that has the english rom for them, but he wont share
otherwise i dunno, HTC need to sue them
he did tell me its "over 60mb" .. i couldnt find it, getting really sick of the site of chinese to english translations! lol..
.. im going to buy a case of bourbon - stuff this phone, I hate it
.. LOL !!
IT WASNT MENT TO BE THIS WAY

So! There is the fact! He did not give you what you have bought! He did not fullfil the contract! Give him a deadline to send you a proper HTC Touch 3G, afterwards cancel the contract, get the money back and get a proper one by amazon or some other good store.
Next time when buying a clone, do it directly here http://www.china-phone.org/ or check here for nice clones http://www.clonedinchina.com/.
Loool! I think the fake HTC 3G has an even more powerful CPU then the real one !?
Can that be?
624MHz vs. 528 MHz - I'm not too familiar with cell phone CPUs but 96 more
fake real
I'm glad I read this thread. I'm looking for a Jade, saw a T3232 that was a good price on ebay, then spotted it had dual sim
HI 79, there is no contract I bought it outright, a damaged claim is in progress so effectively this phone wont cost me anything , hopefully Now i just have to save the phone from the bin !!!
DUAL SIM ? .. This clone does nOt have dual sim, its exactly the same layout as a HTC 3G .. very hard to pick from a HTC inless you have seen a HTC before, you wouldnt really spot the difference..
I think mine may have a faulty digitizer, Not the Rom.. Whos with me on that ?.. As the digitizers not to expensive and the jobs not that hard, im thinking of giving it a go, could be easier than trying to find the rom ?..
U guys/gals think its worth a try or should I wait until the roms up and try that first ?

I cant even get to that screen with that method so im wondering if either your clones different to mine, OR maybe yours is a proper one ?.
Does it have HTY in small letters on the inside of the the back cover by any chance ?
It doesn't say HTY anywhere on the phone but if i run my finger over the HTC part of the lettering on the battery it is slightly raised, seems they've craftily painted over the original lettering. I've compared the phone to a real one and it is slightly bigger in size. The phone actually works really well, don't have any issues with it, just want to get it into English!!
I just went on ebay to check the prices on the Jade. The ones that are $200 are obviously clones. The real ones are atleast 350+. I was able to get mine for 320 with the 8% from live checkout

Guys I have a AL-C0241 and I just installed Malaysk's firmware.
I stupidly did not check my MCU type before hand, thinking that I would keep the existing MCU if I only updated the image.
Everything seemed to install fine, but when I look in the about tablet section, the first few lines are blank, including the MCU
And now I am getting no sound from the radio. Everything else including the wifi and GPS seems to be working OK, but no sound is a problem.
Can anyone tell me the original MCU code of the AL-C0241 ? This is the autopumpkin 7 inch with no buttons on it, just a flat screen.
you can see my entries on the wiki, it's there

So I think mine is bricked now.
After loading Malaysk 3188/1024 firmware I no longer have:
*sound
*gps
*radio
Still working
*wifi
Any idea what I should do to try and fix it? I tried a few things with the reset button but was unable to achieve factory reset. Should I start trying some of the available MCUs?
Ask Pumpkin to send you an image file of your MCU and Firmware. I just send them an email requesting the same for my unit. I told them that I wanted to back it up and can't unless I am rooted.
Let's see what happens.

Worth a try, I will do that.
Would it be possible to get an image of the stock SD card and use that to revert to factory? perhaps nleitao can take a copy of his if he still has access to the insides of his unit?
I'm pretty annoyed with myself, hopefully I don't have to buy another!

Just found a couple of youtube videos, from the official pumpkin channel "pumpkin car stereo support" where they show a software and MCU update for the AL-C0241 !
No download link however! Search AL-C0241 on you tube if interested.
Also checked their blog, no update there
edit: Can't test their firmware because my USBs no longer work, along with most of my hardware.
Its not looking good for me :| Maybe I can find a way to get them working on Malaysk's rom but it's a bit of a catch 22. I can get internet access on the device, however, so all hope is not lost.

Sorry guys I have no results as yet, got a bit busy last night
I have to rig up a molex connector so I can power the device up while im inside my house, it should be as simple as connecting the yellow 12v rail and the earth to the harness, so hopefully I will be able to inform you of results before long
Thanks for the support
Fixed!
Thanks for all the help
I used the ROM posted earlier in this thread and the internal SDslot and I eventually got everything working again, I much preferred Malaysk's ROM but couldn't manage to get the MCU updated until after I did the ROM update.
I now have alex v1.1.5 however, I used to have v1.1.7, so that's kinda annoying but I can't see the difference right now anyway. I will write to auto pumpkin and try to get the latest image.
I was also not able to get it to power up using my computer power supply. I connected the 12v to the 12v and the earth to the earth but it wouldn't fire up, super annoying.
Now I am just going to enjoy using it for a while

My apologies to the OP for the kind of hijack but I believe this is the thread with most info for this radio.
I'm having problems with my radio. The screen seems to have a bad contact somewhere, making it complete useless to try to work with it. The odd thing is it never happens in the first 20 minutes ater a cold start. Does someone have an idea what is happening here?

Second problem. I'm completely unable to pair the radio's Bluetooth with whatever devices. I just cant start the pairing process from the radio side.

That screen flicker doesn't look good Is your warranty void due to opening the device? Could be a hardware fault.
As for the bluetooth pairing, I think mine just worked the first time and I haven't looked at it since. I will have another look later and see if mine is doing the same thing

1) Firstly sorry for my wrong info about the instruction before, for this new Android product, currently it has no searching function in the built-in Bluetooth. About dropping the built-in Bluetooth app to pair the Bluetooth OBDII with other Bluetooth app, sorry we did not test it before and not sure the operation. However, this product can directly pair the the Wifi OBDII which is tested by us
2) Regarding this issue, frankly we didn't meet it before, if you're good at electronic, it's ok to open the radio by removing screws around the frame then check out the inside connection and we would still promise the warranty.
If we can be of any assistance, please feel free to tell us,thank you!
Best regards,
Colin

So two things I learned. The crappy Bluetooth App can't connect to other devices. The second is I still have warranty after open the cover and check the internal cables.
Yeah, I suspect hardware fault. It only start happening after 20, 25 minutes after power up. something heats up and puff...

Hard bricked my phone.

So my phone was acting weird recently, with all sorts of various problems popping out and I simply could not live with it. Before continuing, I would like to say that I hope you guys could help me out here, and thanks a lot in advance. Anyways, I decided that instead of just re-flashing the same ROM on top of the current one on my phone, why not fully erase all the partitions first (big mistake) and fresh install the ROM?
I erased my individual partitions (TWRP - rajlko) with this command, and managed to erase up to 7 partitions.
mke2fs -T ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p1/2/3/4/5/6/7
After formatting ALL the partitions, I immediately rebooted my phone (another huge mistake - the boot.img or whatsoever is probably deleted now) and now, it boots up with a black screen, and that it shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in the device manager.
Please do give some insights and suggestions on this matter. I do not have the time to travel to the nearest service center as of now, and that the repair service takes at least 3 weeks. Hopefully there are solutions to this though. From what I know, the partitions (with the names) are there, just that the necessary files required to boot the phone is not there. Is there any way about this? Thank you!
at present we have no solution for this situation.
most important thing is service rom & we do not how to get it.
when I hard bricked my phone, i surrender this to service center & I got my phone back in 5 days.
there are approx 51 mmcblk in ze550kl.
Ouch. Sad news. There is a tool called QFIL from QPST bundle, which can download firmware to device in Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode, but I don't know if we have the images to flash. This is all new, I don't believe anyone has tried to unbrick their laser on xda yet

Rajiko are you able to explain exactly what the service rom does, and why it is needed? Or do you know any useful URL that we can read to learn more? I don't really understand how the service rom fits into the bigger picture and it would be great to understand more - for example, can we use any msm8939 unbrick tools if we have a snapdragon 615 device, or does it need to be from Asus?

Have you every face a situation where there is no recovery, no fastboot, no system runs, you are unable to see any sign of booting device, no light on your mobile scree.
When you connect your mobile phone to your pc you found yourself in a new situation, your pc displays a popup installing driver for newly found device, when this installation done, you found a new device in your pc's device manager somename .... 9008.
In this situation, we need some tools that may detect our device & here it comes to role of service rom.
our xda forum is good url to read & learn with every situation regarding our mobiles.
every manufacture have different boot partitions & commands, so we need service rom from particular manufacturer for particular device.
Thanks for your help guys! I decided to send it in and it came back within 5 days. The engineers diagnosed the problem as the motherboard being "dead" (stated so on the letter), though I am pretty sure that's not the case, if you know what I mean.
Upon receiving my phone and popping off the back cover, there is actually a "hole" next to the SIM slot 2, which could be easily identified with a yellow taping around it. With the vague image of my previous ZenFone 2 Laser, as well as with the aid of images online, I am sure that this is definitely a new revision for that particulator motherboard, or so to say, a revised version. One thing I noticed is the dramatic improvement in battery life. Using the exact same applications as before, I would only get about 3-4 hours max screen-on-time, whereas with the repaired phone, I could easily get to about 8-11 hours of screen-on-time without limiting any of my application usages.
Another thing that I noticed was that the phone was significantly faster. I have the MSM8916 processor variant, and with the previous phone, it would lag occasionally. Whereas after being repaired, everything was butter smooth. Extremely smooth.
I am not sure if this is really because of the, so to speak, "updated" version of the motherboard, or simply a placebo effect, but hopefully it's not the latter.

That's strange. Could you run AnTuTu/Geekbench/Vellamo benchmarks a few times and post your average scores?
Maybe check your device info using CPU-Z to see if anything's changed?
Can you please post a picture of the back?

I scrolled briefly through your posts and didn't see which model you have 550 or 551?
Also, what was the verdict on the possible new mainboard? What did CPU-Z report?
Please create a new topic, since this is not related to "hard bricked".

Powerful engineering tool for your watch phone mtk6260A - DZ09, GT08, GV08, F8, etc

Lately I found a very powerful settings control tool for our watches - be aware, it is designed just for few of us who secretly want to get till the deepest guts of our "toys", if you feel pointed then you know for sure that before to use it have to do a full readback of your original firmware 'cause you know for sure that our "wild" behavior could conduct at any moment to the most hated phenomenon - bricking ya watch
I hope that, here, all together, safely experimenting, to discover secrets, methods, new best settings for our gadget
I assume that you have already installed mtk drivers and did a full firmware and primary settings zone backup
Some steps:
1. Get the archive from here - link - and unzip it
2. install mtk drivers
3. Install the app itself in the most normal way
4. Launch it and press reconnect
5. Shut down your watch and connect it
6. Ready!
Now is your turn!
Use your money wisely, DO NOT WASTE IT buying from GEARBEST!
- worst shipping ever (10 days in case you're lucky)
- most products are defective (this is referring just to smartwatches and watch phones - can't say anything about other products)
- in case of complain (ticket) the answers are standard corporation statements - they are not fixing any issue - just will waste your time, week after week for months - for instance, in my case started in august 2015 and finished in april 2016
- if you are continuing to complain, trying to obtain your money back or a new item - your mistake, they will switch off in your account the capacity of opening tickets (disputes), they will wipe out your account of any points, credits or previous tickets

Man, imagine that, we could create a real (actually unreal) kinda MTK university in second life (I bet you know about it), real time advice service or topic discussion at a virtual coffe, classrooms and all s. . .t, everything in a full 3D world everything full linked with XDA, what do you think about this?
Sounds scary

Sounds scary in the good way or in the bad way things are in fact very simple and the interactivity could increase (now depends on people. . . of course)
Scary as in virtual world and computer taking over my life I wish I had the time to get that involved. Job kids and school = 17 hour day
To whom it may concern, I have released a new version of Readback Extractor, now much more faster
Update Mar-12/2016: as long as on the market appeared a long line of new types of mtk6260 mtk6261 mtk2502C mtk2502A (etc) watches equipped with strange new PCB or flash_ID parameters, the new release <Readback Extractor mtk 2.0> now has the capacity to identify, to read, check, rebuilt firmware and collect and insert in the .cfg files the flash_ID's coded inside the ROM dump for almost all types of mtk watchphones or smartwatches based on RTOS Nucleus
Cant use messaging service on A9 smartwatch.... says 'Currently not available' !
It's correctly paired and have access to phonebook and make/receive calls but not messages.....
Can somebody shed some light in this matter please?
Many Thanks!
Please does anyone have the stock ROM file for apro q18 smart watch
I tried using this tool and now I think my watch is dead.. I plugged it in while it was powered off (It showed its loading screen). After I hit reconnect and turned it on and showed me an alert saying something like boot failed and now it's not responding at all.. it's just a black screen D:

There is nothing wrong with the firmwares, I did myself tens of flashings, anything I share is tested by me and hundreds of users here and other forums - I'm afraid that is very possible a hardware issue. . .
last check - make sure that options / backup and restore is set on no action

mediatek 6735 stuck in start up screen

Help all, While trying to get root access (I managed temporary sofar), and removing some apps after that (as I still didn't got the desired result : have my custom launcher as default) the unit is stuck at startup.
It's running on android 7.0, model, for what it's worth ; an alps hla1280 *480, 4gb ram, 32gb storage.
Before this happened I tried to connect to the unit trough my laptop but never succeeded. Hope someone can help!
I already did a hard reset, and took the power off, but no result.
A friend of mine got tha same mt6735 from mekede but he has the real Android 9 (CPUZ)
I'm in same situation as you but without rooting...
Really wanna try to get a custom launcher to replace the actual one (with the white ball for menu) but i'm so scared to brick it like you... Hope someone gonna help you
Look like this CPU isnt really common on the server
