Multiple instances of Messenger app under "recent apps" after latest OS update.
Guys,
I have updated my phone to the latest available update AAD250 and now Messenger app appears multiple times under "recent apps".
This is how to repro and see if it happens on other user's phones. Assuming you are using the stock "messenger app"
1) Go to the Hub
2) Tap on 3 stripes menu
3) Select Text Messages(if not selected)
4) Tap on a text message from a person(any)
5) Now press back once
6) Tap on the name again(as in step 4)
7) Press back button
8) You can repeat steps 4 to 7 few times if you like, but 2 or 3 times will be sufficient
9) Press "recent apps" button and you might see multiple instances of messenger app there.
I did not happen before. I have deleted cache and data from multiple BB apps and from Messenger. Didn't find a solution yet.

Email/Text messages and hidden IE dialog

Does this happen to anybody else? Often when I attempt to open a message, be it an email message or an SMS message by going to the TF3D tab and tapping on the message itself (either in the envelope for email or just the words for SMS messages) the message depresses like a button press but then nothing happens.
I just now discovered that if I click on the upper right hand corner of the screen, where it shows HTC's task managers and tasks running, I'll see a mail icon and the name "Internet Explorer" in the list. If I tap on that I get the following, ridiculous dialog box that appears to be blocking me from seeing the message:
Internet Explorer
Pross OK to continue

I say ridiculous because if you think about it what options does the user have at this point? The only two things he can do is 1) succumb to the demand and click OK or 2) switch to some other application and ignore this message!
Questions:
1) Does this happen to anybody else? (Note if you have any icons in HTC's upper right corner menu that have a letter icon and say anything like Internet Explorer, Text Messages or Email then kill them first by tapping the "X" to the right of them and try again).
2) How can I get this dialog box to not prompt at all? It serves no purpose, does not come up normally (i.e. is hidden) are really ruins the "flow" or user experience here!
I've also had times where I tapped "Inbox" or "All messages" because at the time I didn't know that there was a hidden dialog. In such cases the Inbox/All messages comes up but in the place where the messages should be listed is instead the background of the current tab bleeding through! IOW if you have a list of say 2 messages that you'd normally see in the Inbox, instead you'd see the background of the current tab as if that part of the window just didn't render. Needless to say that this is extremely annoying too! This seems like basic stuff. Why is it happening to me? Is it also happening to you?

Losing Email Settings

Hello,
I could not find anyone sharing the same issue. From time to time, I lose my email account settings. When I tap "Inbox," it looks as if there are no accounts set up. But, when I tap "Menu>Account Settings," from the main email Home Tab, the accounts are there but I cannot send or receive email. This happened most recently after running Android for half a day and then reboting back into WinMo. If I delete the old accounts and reset them up all is fine but its a hassle. I have 3 accounts I use. This also seems to happen other times even before using Android. I think BSBtweaks is behind this mess but cant remove it as it is cooked into my ROM.
Thanks for any comments in advance.
You need to do the following when this happens. It happens to me 2-3 times every day.
1.tap start
2. tap settings
3. tap menu on the bottom right
4. tap all settings
5. tap connections
6. tap connections again
7. tap manage existing connections
8. tap edit
9. tap next on the bottom right (do not change settings)
10 tap next again on the bottom right (do not change settings)
11. tap finish bottom right (do not change any settings)
12 tap the yes button
13 keep tapping the x on the top right and keep exiting to the desktop on the phone
This will reset your 3 g settings and it will work now. This entire process takes less than 5-8 seconds and it has been working for me when my connection drops. This was given to me from a T Mobile HTC specialist.

[Q] Messaging issue?

Ok so when I receive a message in Handcent I get the pop up windows and no notifications from the default app. But after about 5 seconds Hancent opens up a new message window for no reason. I don't have the option to set a default messaging app. The window pops up, but there's not "set default" checkbox. Also when i go to the application settings, the "clear defaults" button is greyed out for both. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't help. Anyone know how to fix this?

"Complete action using" for Phone

I recently noticed a problem when I click the "Complete action using" dialogue allowing me to choose between Viber or my dialer. I select my phone dialer and the "Always" option, but it doesn't matter if I set it to always it will appear every time I try to make a call from within an app, Chrome, email, text messaging app, etc.
I tried uninstalling Viber and reinstalling with the same results. Tried clearing defaults for all apps in Application Manager to no avail.
It appears to be a bug. Any ideas how to fix this?

Same stuff...tried xposed and so on..no luck. ..Uninstaller of viber is the only solution
Same here. Every time, no matter if I press 'always', it asks if I want to use Skype, phone, or some 'avast number validator'

[How To] (SOLVED) Clearing the Voice Mail Icon (NO Factory reset needed)

I wanted to post this so that everyone can see it a bit better. I dealt with this little annoyance and didn't want to do a factory reset, so I trialed and errored it to find this solution.
My guess is that if someone has a voicemail message that is unchecked, gets a new phone, and installs the voicemail app provided by their carrier, the notification is stored in 2 places instead of 1. Therefor causing the problem of a notification not going away because you can't clear it from both places at the same time. My guess is that this will be the same solution for everyone with a Samsung S5. If this doesn't work then my guess would be that there is another app installed on the phone that handles voicemail messages.
First make sure that no voicemail messages are on both the phones voicemail and in the apps voicemail. Notification Icon is still present.
Second - go to Home button > Settings > Application Manager > Scroll to "All" > Voicemail > Clear Cache as well as Clear Data, then uninstall.
Third - Home button > Settings > Application Manager > Scroll to "All" > Phone > Clear Cache as well as Clear Data. Then Turn off, pulled battery, waited 10 secs, put battery back in, and booted up. If the notification is gone proceed to step 4. If not then repeat 1-3 (I didn't have to repeat 1-3).
Fourth - Install Visual Voicemail app for your carrier. Set it up. No notification. Problem fixed.
I did a reboot, no notification. Turned off, pulled battery, waited 10 secs, put battery back in, and booted up. Still no notification. I don't know yet what will happen when I get a new voicemail, but for now that little pest in the top left corner is gone.
Cheers.

After multiple Voice mail messages, the icon has not come back. The only notification that shows up is the one connected to the Visual Voicemail app provided by my carrier. This seems to be a long term solution.
Just call your phone and leave a voice mail at your number now go to the phone and listen ? to it and delete all voice mail after that restart your phone
