need help!!!! Dell venue pro 10 freeze after reset - Venue Pro General

my Dell venue pro 10 5130 freeze after reset from windows recovery menu. I bought it with windows 10 installed. I did a reset from recovery menu in windows 10, the process complete and when the system turn back on, the screen says 'lets get aways with few things, English and Chinese, and ok. button at bottom. The screen freeze, not able to click on ok button. The only way to turn it off is to hold the power button until power off.
how to fix this? is there a way to get into safe mode or windows recovery mode?

What was the reason to cause you to do a reset?

I found out maps and weather app is opening correctly. When I click on maps, it open for 2 seconds it gone, same for weather.

Try doing a hard reset. If you don't know what that is Google Dell Venue hard reset. That doesn't work I would call Dell tech support. There might be something physically wrong with your tablet

[Q] how to do a total format?

Hi,
I’ve locked screen by a soft (don’t know the name of it) that remembers a gesture (you must connect at least 4 of 9 points) that you must repeat to release the screen.
Unfortunately I have forgotten the gesture I’ve set and after 20 tries the soft blocked for good. Now it wants me to login to Google account to unlock the device – but it doesn’t work.
I did a factory reset but still this app locks screen after turning the phone on. (note that in the “factory” menu there was a red line telling something like “cannot read: system/era/...” – the factory reset has completed successfully)
Probably there is no chance to release the screen, so please tell me how to do a total format, to delete all apps?
Thanks!
Tom
Boot into safe mode by doing a cold startup while holding onto the home button before power button. Keep holding onto it til you see the word safe at bottom of screen. Then remove that app like normal. If no good then hold volume up plus home button then power. It might take a few tries. Once in recovery mode move down with volume button then select one of the options but not the update.zip one with home button as enter

The factory reset would have remove the offending software
Was it software you installed or the default software built into the Firmware.
Namely the Location and security (Screen unlock pattern).
If it's built into the firmware then your going to have to reflash the device.
ickyboo: There is no "save mode" as you suggested or it just doesn't help
I also did a factory reset and this app still blocks the screen.
Ancient_One: yes, probably it was a default soft. I wish I could remember the name of it :-/ I'll try to find this somewhere, maybe I'll recognise the icon.
But I'm afraid I really need to reflash the device.

[Q] Blackstone like First day!!

Hello my friends.
Recently my girlfriend gave me her HTC TOUCH HD. I want to find a way to format the phone, so it would be like the day she bought it. I don't know many things about fixing windows phones but if someone knows the way to do this, i would be grateful (sorry for my English).
Thanks in advance.
restoring it to factory defaults is called a hard reset.
it is done by shutting down the device, then pressing vol+, vol- and power at the same time. this will take you to a white screen with blue font, giving you further instructions. in the end, it will reboot and start with the OOBE (out of the box experience), meaning, you get the oportunity to set the time, align the screen...
the important things is: this will format the entire storage partition, the contents of the my documents folder will be deleted, there will be no apps on it, all contacts, sms, emails, appointments, tasks and other pim data will be gone...
so it is greatly advised to backup personal data first, copy documents, photos... to the storage card (which is not affected by a hard reset), back up your pim data using pimbackup or sync it with outlook or ms myphone.
basic things like this are also covered in the first few pages of the manual, which, if missing, can easily be downloaded at htc.com
First of all thanks for your help!!
I did that (Vol +, Vol - and power) and it made a sound and now it doesn't start! Before making this action i did a reset from the back side of the phone (a button next to the battery). And the other problem i have is that the power button broke and missing so i have to push it with the pen. I don't know what to do now. I think i must go to an mobile technician.

to hard reset:
1, charge it to at least 50% power and power off
2, hold vol + and vol - buttons
3, hit power button once to power on
4, release vol buttons when you see a tri-color screen
5, follow the instructions to confirm hard reset

The hard reset was successful. My problem is that the screen is "closed" but the phone is still power on! The screen has not light so i cannot see!! And the funny thing is that the display lights after a few seconds and when i try to touch it, it immediately fading again.. How can i solve this problem?
what exactly happened?
the success of the hard reset would show as presenting you with the initial OOBE (as mentioned above). it takes you through a welcome wizard to set up basic things, where you just have to follow the steps shown. in the end windows mobile will boot, maybe customize your device further (by automatic data setup or the installation of carrier specific apps). then there would be a reboot. and from then on, you are to set up all further settings yourself. at what point in this timeline did the problem present itself?
oh, also, for backlight settings, go to start->settings->system->power and go to the 2nd tab, there you can uncheck the automatic backlight adjust and in the 3rd tab, you can extend the time, the backlight is activated.
and if this was the issue, let me point you at the official manual again:
http://www.htc.com/www/userguide.aspx?p_id=179
and here is a link to a basic faq, which, incidently, shows the hard reset procedure as the very first point: http://www.htc.com/www/help_howtos.aspx?p_id=179
you can answer some very basic questions for yourself there.
hope it helps,
regards
As i said before the hard reset was successful. I set the "screen align", the time zone and then the screen faded and has no light but the phone was still working. That's my problem. I cannot see the screen to make the changes you say.
Why don't you try to hard reset the device once more. Maybe that will fix the problem. Anyway, I don't think that the process of hard reset was the reason of the problem anyway.
Don't panic and try once more. Nothing to loose.

Dell XT2 Windows 8 Install Troubleshoot Black Screen On Install SOLVED!

I just got done installing Windows 8 onto a Dell XT2 and experienced a blackscreen issue where I guess the built in display drivers in the Developer preview don't display properly on the laptop monitor. Below are my troubleshooting steps if it might help others. Dont know if this issue is for all XT2s but whatever... Here it is. Skip to step 7 for the direct solution. The rest before that is just what I did to find the solution.
Major issue solved...
Upon first boot, I started to go through the normal startup prompts and upon getting to the WiFi connection menu, the screen went completely black.
1. Tried Ctrl+Alt+Del...Nothing
2. Tried Power Button press...Screen Flashes briefly then goes to sleep mode...Hope...
3. Tried Waking up from sleep mode...Back 2 Black
4. Tried repeating steps 2 and 3 multiple times...Same results
5. Tried Power Button Hold...Powers Off Completely...(Expected)
6. Tried Power button press to power on. Gets to boot menu options...brief glimmer of hope... Then Back 2 Black after selecting boot option.
7. A NEW HOPE (I know it is EP4, Don't be such a nerd)...Go to my trunk where I keep an emergency 50ft VGA cable (Ok, I'm a nerd and this is my rifle...I mean Jumper cables...) Connected this to a monitor. BAM The screen is LIVE!!!
8. Go to Dell website > Support > Drivers > XT2 > Windows 7 x64 > Video Drivers LINK ---->>http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?releaseid=R304366&c=us&l=en&cs=&s=gen
9. Installed Drivers and Win! (The laptop screen came up and everything was back to normal)
If this helped you solve anything...even what to keep in your trunk. Hit Thanks.
got a dell xt 2 and in any build of windows 8 never had that issue...in fact its been pretty smooth
Try disabling the auto brightness. Fn+Left-Arrow

[Q] Lock scren button

HI I am new to android and HTC and last night i have put Android NAND using MGLDR. was working fine but for some reason when i want to lock the screen and i press the power button it shows more option menu instead to lock the screen. Before when i press once the pwer button it locks but if i hold the button it shows more options menu. Now i have to press twice the button to lock screen and when i wqant to unlock it will do the same it will show up the menu. I tryed to reinstal it again from my SD card using ClockWOrk, MGLDR, puting him back to factory setting but still soemtimes it does that. Now waht i want to do is to do task29 and to again everything. I have found on this site an exe by doloop for task29 but i get error cant connect to phone check USB connection. Run as admin on my win7 64bit and disabled driver signature but stillsame error. How to fix the unction of this button?
Android isntaled:
TyphooN_CM7_v3.6.8-MAGLDR.zip
I'm pretty sure that's an issue with your END button, rather than with Android.
Has your screen been unresponsive sometimes?

Are you sure? I'm 99% sure it isn't anything to do with the ROM, it sounds like your end key is getting stuck when you press it. I used TyphooN for ages (in fact, if I'm not mistaken up to that very version) and it never failed me, so I don't see how it wouldn't work for you. Try flashing back to WinMo and seeing if the same applies there.
I believe you're having the famous issue of HD2 with the 'end' button. Try another rom first to be sure, if that's the case, start using "Button Savior" or similar app...

Lockscreen rotates by itself and freezes RIGHT AWAY! HELP

Dear all,
I've just received my N4 for a couple of hours. It's a brandnew one from U.S market.
Right after unboxing, I switched it on and signed in my Google account. Everything run just fine for a couple of minutes when i swipe through those introduction steps from a Brandnew Vanilla Android. After that, it went wild.
When i turned the screen on the 2nd time of its life time, the Lockscreen rotated automatically and then just hang there. The whole device freezed right after the screen was turned on THE 2ND TIME!. It forced me to press and hold Power button to restart the device, but that problem continues to occur on every working sessions.
Right now i have to completely turn it off and don't know how to fix yet
A just-unboxed-device with a fault like this? Life's Sucking, not Good LG!
What can i do now? Please give me some advices, i'm very frustrating right now.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: Now after trying to unlock bootloader, root, flash custom ROM (xenonHD), even tried to disable all lockscreen types (currently set to None), it appears that the whole device will freeze after exactly the 2nd time of screen-on! How on earth does this s**t occur????
Anyone? Please help

I must say this is a rare case; I've never heard of something similar before.
Email google and see what they say:

They will replace all defective devices within 15 days of shipping so don't worry.

Problem is the device now is in Vietnam, and it'll take much time to deliver it back to Google.
Wish someone would have a solution...
Try to get into safe mode and disable screen rotation:
Using LG Nexus 4 LG E960 Safe Mode
To recover your phone when malfunctioning.
1. Turn off your phone and reboot. When you see the booting animation press and hold the Volume Down Key . Your main screen will then be displayed with the words "Safe mode" in lower left corner.
2. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key and tap Settings > search for disable screen rotation
Click to collapse
If that doesn't work, try to reset to factory:

Thank you for being so kind. I've just tried and no luck.
By somehow, if it manages to turn all the lockscreen and homescreen to landscape, it will be fine. But i know the N4 cannot rotate homescreen, so this is definitely WEIRD! I feel that the "spirit" of a tablet's OS is running inside my phone, and it decides not to run at all LOL
seems that RMA's the only choice....
