Available Cases - Wileyfox Storm

Are there any cases available for the phone yet?
Even the official website doesn't have any, only for the swift which even that isn't available yet.
I think this phone doesn't have a big enough market yet for people to produce cases and products for this phone.

case
hi just received one from amazon....

Hi Adam
What sort of case did you get for your Storm, is it a case or a sleeve? Do you have a link to the one you bought?
Thanks.
Brianrh

any cases from wileyfox storm

I too want case/bumper for my storm, but to buy it nowhere. On Ali. for swift only

Nothing new on an official case or even one designed for the Storm, but if you are looking for a temporary gel case solution:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/121443-wileyfox-storm-case-size/

No real progress on a proper Storm case but I found a mention to this on FB:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/Storm-Cases-and-Covers.htm
Whether this to measure interest or if there really is a case in the pipeline we'll have to wait to see.
Brian

According to the official Wileyfox twitter feed there are no plans tot release a case.

The following was posted by Wileyfox on their Facebook page yesterday (2 April)
Hello all, we are 100% aware that consumers are asking for storm cases. We have been forwarding all your comments to the product team. For the time being we have collated a collection of storm cases from third party makers and making reviews for the items, so you know what are the best fit. This is planned to be posted next week, we are just waiting for two more cases to arrive to give a large over view of what there is to offer.
Hopefully good news but perhaps don't hold your breath.
Brian

Just ordered one of these, seems to have good reviews:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/222082933481?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
Will let you know what it's like.
Brian

The new gel case for my Storm arrived today and I am very pleased with it. For £4.99 I think it is good value,
Just a shame that Wileyfox couldn't have sourced one sooner.

As per Brianrh’s previous post, Wileyfox actually recommend these cases on their twitter and facebook pages. So I thought I would purchase one and like Brianrh, I am very pleased with it.

OtterBox confirms T-Mobile USA HD2 cases via Facebook!

SWEET!
So, needless to say... EVERYONE and their mothers have been on an internet-based HUNT for an appropriately designed casing to fit our USA model of the eversopopular (YES, indeed... one word) HTC HD2.
Personally, it's all about YOUR preferences. Having said that, the only thing left to wonder is:
WHICH MANUFACTURER CAN WE TRUST?
- BodyGlove
- PDair
- Case-Mate
- OtterBox
Now, considering the mid-sized company has been OFFICIALLY endorsed and carried by AT&T locations for the iPhone... it's safe to say that they've proven themselves far superior to the competition. I've owned the Defender Series Case for the BlackBerry 9700, and it's without a doubt the most incredibly designed casing I've ever had on a piece of handheld technology.
BECOME A FAN OF "OTTERBOX" VIA FACEBOOK!
FOLLOW THEM ON TWITTER! - @OtterBox
If you're unfamiliar with their products, do a bit of research, because you will not be disappointed. TRUST ME, they will deliver in the near future. Just be patient folks, they're already hard at work to provide the Impact Series Case for us. Therefore, it's only a matter of time before we're updated on dates for the official release and availability.
All-in-all, do yourself a favor please...
WAIT FOR THE DEFENDER SERIES CASE!
Oh, don't hesitate to voice your opinions below.
Too bad you don't answer questions on Twitter... I have a few followers who try to ask you questions or get help from you and they definitely feel ignored. I know this ain't the place... but figured I'd let ya know. Thanks for the update... can't wait for Otterbox to drop their cases.
lol, could you imagine the size of an otterbox case on this thing? HUGE!!!! might have to hire a chaffeur! ;]
Let's continue to raise awareness though folks. I appreciate the views and the time taken to at least acknowledge this post.
Then again... I'm sure that OtterBox does too.
Just the thought of so much protection makes me feel as if condoms aren't even necessary in real-life anymore.
...kidding, stay clean fellas. Always stay strapped up.
Not that I doubt you did find this on twitter; I am curious if there is any other confirmation?
All I can find on the Otterbox website is this:
http://www.otterbox.com/search/hd2/htc-hd2-commuter-series-case-europe/
Which we all know that this Europe case won't work on the US model due to the location of the bottom plugs, but I'm sure someone in the US will try....
Here is to hoping that this Colorado based company will get with the program and provide a US version.
Actually I'm hoping we'll get a Commuter Series version for the Tmo HD2...that's the one they have for the other HD2, and looks like the best type of case they make. I submitted a request via the website a week or two ago, still haven't received any info other than they weren't making one at that time and would let me know if that changed.
Still, I think otterbox cases are definitely the best-engineered cases around, as long as they have one for your device
Thanks for the tip reignzone, here's hoping it happens!

I don't understand... Do you think that Reignzone is Otterbox?
Or are you saying that Reignzone doesn't answer messages sent to him on twitter?
Received my Otterbox Defender today.
After the initial confusion of how to open the damn thing.... it is just AMAZING. Great coverage, feels comfortable in hand, and with the holster/belt clip fits on my waist comfortably.
And now the caveat:
The phone is already big. With the O-Box it's bigger, but not much bigger. If you have giant "I slap grizzly bears for fun" hands like I do, then it will feel more natural than the tiny phones like those made by companies with fruit rollup names.
There is a screen protector as a part of the case. That protector doesn't seem to impede the screen's sensitivity in the least, still a win win item. I'll probably cover that one just to keep it pristine.
I'll post some pics when I dig out the other camera.
Commuter case here as I need the puppy to fit into slacks and jacket pockets.
Love it.

"Pain till Valentine"

Blog post
Hello there,
All of you who pre-ordered and helped Notion Ink start building the community must have received an email today. One email is on the confirmation of shipping and the other one is on the delay. Those who are in the later group (5.31%) are angry as I could see their comments and the emails.
It is extremely unfortunate that we are in such a situation. We could not have expected the accidental damage of the touch screen shipment, and that too just days before Chinese New Year eve. Even though the damage was to a part of shipment, we cancelled all because in such a case you cannot predict the defective and working screens manually. Our friends at Sintek requested their employees to miss their New Year week and instead manufacture the lost numbers. Most of them agreed.
Blogs are not easily accessible in China, and these employees don’t speak English. But their mangers do and know how to read your reactions, comments, thoughts on the peoject and are extremely passionate about Adam like you, and probably this is why they were able to convince their employees to work for you.
You shouldn’t go through this useless pain, but there is a whole group at Notion Ink and at our manufacturing plants putting in all the efforts at delivering you Adams. You have came this far with us, I will request for little more patience. We are listening and working on your suggestions at support at notionink dot com or preordersupport at notionink dot com.

Sam, if you are really going to experience "pain"
for the next two weeks over the fact that a silly tech device is not going to be delivered to you on time, than we need to talk. Lets look around ourselves and see those who are really in pain.
I heard that the donut machine is down at the krispy Kreme. Now those people lined up out there are in pain.
The people who are still waiting for their Toyota to accelerate on its own. They are in pain.
The people lined up at Walmart for Black Friday, even though it is Monday and January. They are in pain.
You waiting for another two weeks to get a piece of plastic that lights up with batteries (and by that time will have most of the bugs worked out of it), I don't think should qualify as "pain".
My Adam has the same delivery date as yours. Yes it has been delayed four times! I hope I get out of this line at Krispy Kreme in time to get home before it arrives.

Dbrand Response about the U11

I emailed Dbrand to see if they were considering supporting the U11. This is the response I got back:
Hey DaConcho!
Thanks for reaching out. We’re still on the fence about supporting that device. We haven’t gotten enough requests to begin prototyping and production immediately, but we’ve gotten enough to still have it on the table as an option.
Keep an eye on our Twitter in the coming weeks for updates. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with and have a great day!
Signed,
A Robot
Any one else wanting to get something a little easier to hold than the glass back should also reach out. Push them over the fence so they add it into the lineup.
Literally just went to their website today to check! I'll definitely email them too.
Try slickwraps instead
I find it crazy how all the manufacturers have pulled out of accessories for HTC phones. They supported the 10 pretty quickly and the U11 is selling better than both the M9 and 10. It should be a given. The Pixel didn't tell a ton of units either but finding accessories for it is pretty easy.
Just messaged them, and got the exact same response. We need to keep blowing them up.

I hate HTC's position now days that 3rd party manufacturers don't want to support them. Gosh this U11 is so hard to find accessories for.
Can we all go and make a request for this device? Thanks

I sent the request too on their website and replied the same. We need more interest guys. Do send them the request via their website

I think it's all due to the M9's failure... The 10 was much better and clearly an underrated device, but I'm pretty sure Google sold more Pixel devices than HTC sold of their HTC 10 or, at the very least, they sold roughly the same. So because of everything surrounding the M9 all the accessory manufacturers were hesitant to support the 10 and due to the lack of interest of the 10 as a whole it wasn't really worth their time... It sucks, but I don't blame them for being weary about supporting the U11.
Seems like I got a more conclusive answer...

Totallee Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Thin Case Review

From a pool of cases available on the market, picking the right one may be a difficult job. You need to think about its quality, features, color, style, price, and other functionalities before making the final purchase. Moreover, the case must keep your Samsung Galaxy S9 functional. If you are in search of a case that is one among the millions, I have got the one for you. I just bought this Galaxy S9 Case a few days back and it is a real beauty. Adorned with a solid black color with a matte finish, this case has enhanced the original design of my Galaxy S9.

So you joined today so you could post a link to an ad for a specific case? Every post on your blog reads like an advertisement, and has a link (or multiple links) to buy the product. You wouldn't happen to be the manufacturer or vendor of that case, would you? If so, at least be honest about it.

No, I am not a manufacturer or vendor of this case.
No? Why does your linked site consist of nothing but ads for products pretending to be reviews, and paid links to buy them. You make only one post here, and that's to hype a product that no one else has ever heard of. Call me skeptical.

I agree it reads poorly and isn't well composed, but the product is a legitimate one and relatively well known. But yeah, this is still a poor marketing ploy lol.

Essential 2 - Cancelled

Andy Rubin has cancelled development of the Essential 2 and looks to be getting out the smartphone business entirely. He's hired Credit Suisse to find a buyer but no word on any progress since late May. My bet is Essential PH1 will be the only Essential Smartphone so I decided to buy a new, inbox, white device for $350.00. I'm thinking it will appreciate as time goes by so I won't open the box. Wish I could have found the Limited Edition Oceans Depth color, I read one just sold on ebay for over $900.00.

The point is obvious, I feel at this time it's a good investment, especially at the price. With only approx 150,000 sold in time new units will be rare, very rare. I pointed out at Essential's PH-1 release, due to numerous issues the company could go out of business, which for all practical purposes, it has.

Old and unsubstantiated rumor.
There was never a PH-2 announced so how could it be cancelled?

"Essential Products Inc., a startup co-founded by Android creator Andy Rubin that launched last year to great fanfare, is considering selling itself and has canceled development of a new smartphone, according to people familiar with the matter"
Scrapping a pending product has no relation as to whether a company has made an announcement regarding the aforementioned product. It's not rumor as multiple sources have confirmed cancellation of the device.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...hone-maker-essential-is-said-to-consider-sale
Whether or not anyone is in agreement is a moot point. The reason for the post was to make members aware it is likely to be a good investment at current prices as it certainly looks as though Essential is out of the smartphone business after having delivered less that 200,000 devices. And as collectors like myself are aware, if a collectable is unopened in it's original packaging, it's worth a lot more at some point in the future.

Actually not confirmed by anyone.
Reported by Bloomberg only and the repeated by multiple others citing Bloomberg.
That article was from May and still no confirmation.
And no, since they never announced a device with specifics you don't know what they may or may not have cancelled.

"according to people familiar with the matter"
Good ole wording of the fake news.
I think it would be funny if they brought out a NEW ph2 phone, and somehow were able to keep it's presence secret.
But, considering 99.9% of these things are made in China, it always leaks out.
Not to mention I'd say most of the leaks are on purpose, to draw free media attention, and to build "hype".
I've only had my PH-1 for a couple weeks, but it's been solid so far. And, coming from 3 Mate phones, that's
saying something for a "first try".

Exactly. It means we can't substantiate what we said or give any confirmation from an independent source.

Sources often won't talk to a reporter if the reporter insists on naming them. This is very common. It doesn't mean that it's not true or ''fake''. Usually it is confirmed with at least one other source before it is reported. That seems to have been the case here. News organizations work very hard to make sure their reporting is correct because their livelihood depends on it.
''Fake news'' is often used to describe news that is unflattering, not news that is fabricated. Cases of fabrication by reputable news organizations is very rare and corrections are issued when the reporting is found to be erroneous.

Wrong, it's confirmed, not repeated though other sources but again is irrelevant. Get over it!

https://www.theinquirer.net/inquire...up-for-sale-essential-2-development-cancelled
Besides the numerous problems surrounding the release of the PH-1, the problems with the device itself, when we read this "Over the course of its first year, Essential has also faced turmoil in its employee ranks. It has lost dozens of hardware and software engineers as well as top executives. Brian Wallace, the original vice president of marketing, left just weeks after the company started. Earlier this year, Joe Tate, head of hardware engineering, also departed" it doesn't bode well for the company or potential buyer's of Essential. One aspect of the poor sales numbers which hasn't been mentioned is Economy of Scale. Due to it's unique build, the use of exotic materials it is not realistic to assume production output could approach a million plus units. Obviously a potential buyer would consider this as well. With whatever is remaining in regards to the company's valuation likely doesn't include trademark infringement brought on by Speigen and a theft of secrets lawsuit from Keyssa filed in federal court, San Francisco.

No point in arguing, but all three of those stories are from May and have Bloomberg as a source.
There has not been any completely independent source to verify what Bloomberg wrote. This has been discussed again and again on XDA and Essential's feed on Reddit.
They continue with business as usual and deliver software at a rate equal to Google updating the Pixel. So if nothing else the software integration team rocks.
YMMV, but to date Essential hasn't made a comment other than the typical, "we cancel and restructure projects". That's what technical companies do.

Their sales and support remain in place only for PH-1, if you consider that business as usual so be it, but one thing is certain, you'll never see a second smartphone from Essential which is why I acquired it as an investment. If anyone has an Ocean Depths device for sale I'd love to hear from you!
According to my source, me, who gives a ****ola. This is a great phone. You don't like it, get rid of it. Other than Googles own branded line, nothing receives updates faster. I'm on a $5 a month a lease and my buyout from the beginning was a whopping $140.

I keep my phones in a protective sleeve, never use a screen protector, but have never banged up, dented or scratched one yet (knock on wood). Wish I still had my Dyna-Tac my boss bought for us back in the day!
I've still got my PDA's, my analog & digital Star-Tac phones, and my Dell Streak 5, although as unpopular as it was, probably not worth much LOL.
This thread is all about speculation on the PH1 being a collector's piece. That seems pretty unlikely due to the niche nature of this phone. Were essential to go on to make a ph2 without selling many more of the PH1 it might make sense, but otherwise? Great phone but with nothing to really hold it out against the rest. Ceramic? Done before. Titanium? Done before..etc, etc. In other words, the Simpsons did it!
The Jakarta post article actually demonstrates how unlikely this is to be a worthwhile investment in the long term (other than enjoying it as a great phone of its time). Look at the examples and then what they draw in.
Good luck OP, be sure to let me know how wrong I am.
