SUCCESS ... but "Move to SD Card" Issue
Downloaded the file; installed the full update successfully.
Having few issues with the new UI/OS though
- foremost is that i seem to have lost the "Move to SD Card" option for apps completely !
Even though my default save location is set to SD card, new apps gets installed in Internal storage only; and for the already installed ones, the "Move to SD Card" button is nowhere to be seen
Everyone has the same issue?
---
I hope its a bug which would be fixed soon rather than a feature we have to live with.

Yes of course, there are a plenty of Apps available, but NONE WORKS in our situation.
They don't work for the simple reason - app2sd kind of apps basically take us to the system storage settings where we need to click the "move to SD" button - and that button is not to be seen in our situation. SO, NO MOVE TO SD POSSIBLE.
No issues with SD card detection - it shows up in file manager, my camera pics still gets stored there - its just the app installation for which the sd card seem to be unavailable...
... and a whole bunch of apps that used to be previously installed in the SD card have kinda 'disappeared' - i mean, i can still see the ghost app folder if i browse to the SD card using a file manager, but the App itself isn't installed and doesn't show up in the list of installed apps.

Hi there,
I'm on B313 PLK-L01 (EU version), and I was able to install Spotify (incl. offline downloads) to the SD card. I selected SD card for Default location, restarted the phone, and installed Spotify. Later I reverted it back to internal storage, as I want the SD card for Spotify music, mostly.
It worked, my Spotify folder in the SD card (Android/data/com.spotify.music) currently contains almost 5GB, and the one on internal memory is empty. So there is hope, at least.

Glad to hear that mate - gives a glimmer of hope that the problem may indeed be a bug that would be addressed soon

---------- Post added at 09:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:43 PM ----------
Hi guys
Just noticed another bug with the new UI/OS
I usually save all my phonebook contacts on my google account (like many android users, im guessing)...
In the contacts settings, we used to have an option to "display only contacts with phone numbers" ...or something similar - remember?
That seems to be missing now.
So, what happens is, when i set my phonebook to display my google account contacts, i get like 1000+ contacts from gmail (with email addresses, WITHOUT phone numbers). These are NOT unwanted entries - i need their email addresses for communicating and stuff - i just don't want them to be displayed in my phonebook)
...and i guess that's exactly why the feature of "display only contacts with phone numbers" was brought in. AND THAT SEEMS TO BE MISSING IN THE CURRENT OS/UI.
---
I SINCERELY HOPE THAT DEVELOPERS @ HUAWEI ARE AWARE / TAKING NOTE OF THESE BUGS AND WORKING ON FIXES
---
May be i should get in to the huawei forums and post these thing there ...? Yeah, that makes sense ... i will try.

HOW TO FIX THE TOUCHSCREEN ISSUE (only for some models)
Because some production series of Liquid have a different touchscreen, someone might encounter difficulties with the new patch for the high sensitivity of the touchscreen.
To resolve this issue:
- Copy in the sd the fix mod that you can found between the downloads (below)
- With estrongs file explorer install the app LS_touchscreen
- Start the application, find the best values for your touchscreen and then press Install
[OLD]- Download and extract the zip (http://www.mediafire.com/?uyjmgyy3gti) to fix the touchscreen issue
- Edit the file sensitive.sh changing the two values in bold:
#!/system/bin/sh
(sleep 90;echo 30 > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-005c/sensitivity;echo 75 > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-005c/noise) &
Each screen has different values for sensibility and noise... do some tests; start with those suggestions: 75-75 (default), 50-75, 30-75
- Place the file sensitive.sh and META-INF folder in a zip file and copy it to your sd
- Flash from malez recovery WITHOUT SIGN CHECK[/OLD]

TITANIUM BACKUP APP IS THE ORIGINAL APP; CHECK BETTER
I USE A REDIRECT FOR COUNT DOWNLOAD. NO PHISHING. CHECK MY REDIRECT SERVICE -_- http://cli.gs
no sorry, no chinese version sorry, it's a different framework
I have warned you about warez content. You should have replied to my mp before editing your post and put your links back. Anyway, this the last warning.
If you include Titanium Backup FULL in your rom, THIS IS warez. Even if it's just a key setting or a file to change, this doesn't matter. Providing a paid apps is forbidden here (Even if you have regulary brought it, in this case you can just download it from the market, so no point to include it in your rom). This is also valid for any other paid app you would have included in your rom (I don't know others apps, so no idea).
So, I can't check right now if the version of Titanium Backup included is the FULL one, but if it's the case, this would result in an ban if it's not removed within the next day.
Thanks.
edit : oh, btw, if there is no more warez in your rom and you removed the full version of Titanium, there is no more problem, hope you understood that

Hi,
Thank you for your ROM, I like your work! However, on my phone, the Gallery doesn't work properly, it's very slow, some pics don't show (not as thumbnail, not when ticked), and pics are very low-res when viewed.
Also, a bug that I used to have in brut's Google Maps is back: when entering a search text, it closes and I go to homescreen.
Finally, scrolling in for example Contacts is very laggy, this was fixed in LCR but is back now.
I hope these minor flaws can be fixed, keep up the good work!
thanks you
for the gallery... try to delete you android > cooliris folder into your SD. no problem with my gallery...
for google maps, i know, but brut's google maps it's very better than original... anyway, i will try to correct the bug in the next version
for the contacts...my scroll very well... do you use image of contacts or other features of contacts?
OK, I cleared Cooliris folder, and opened the gallery... now I first saw no more pictures or thumbs at all, and then it appeared pictures were being loaded (rotating wheel in upper left corner) but nothing actualy happens, just seeing grey squares.
I didn't mean brut's maps is better, I just meant that a bug I used to have in his version of Maps seems to be in the LS-ROM maps as well.
In contacts I have some pictures (also facebook contacts), but this was no problem on LCR.
you have to wait a while (about 20 minutes for 150 photos/videos...)
for contacts... lcr 1.6 or lcr 1.7?

wow, that long? I have over 300 pics, so thats why :-D
I was using LCR 1.7 patch 1. On LCR 1.6 contacts was laggy and jumpy as well.
Thanks for helping!
EDIT: it seems that the Gallery app reads a lot more folders than it used to, all kinds of system folders, maybe thats why its taking ages to load.
EDIT2: there are some thumbs visible now, but when I tick them, I still get a very lowres image instead of the actual photo... I think something's wrong
EDIT 3: apparently patience pays off... gallery is back to normal now. Still I would like smoother contacts.
lol good ^^
for the contacts...i will try to dump stream contact app...we'll see in the next version...

"Changing brightness will crash settings" did not issued on my device.
Changing language does, however, crash settings.
Also the battery seems to be draining faster than stock OS, for some reasons.
The number display format issues is still there I have no idea how to change it.
In messages, use dark theme setting is ignored.
I also after half day of usage noticed my phone keep unlocking in my pocket, I don't have any special unlock features enabled like home button or so, is this normal?
Later edit: Quick-toggle for brightness will not always work - I cannot reproduce, there was one time that ignored now works fine after many tries and flashes. Safe to remove.
Sorry that was a mistake on my part in copying down the issue.
I've added your other findings to the list
Will be trying the alpha ROM this weekend as well so I'll try to reproduce your issues!
Quick-toggle for brightness will not always work [1]
you can remove this never happened again. can't remember how it happened anyway
Can someone help me port it for i9192?
the dual chip version?
I want so much to see CM on my cellphone
I am using this build since this morning so far we get along, if I can improve battery life a little will be my perfect os.
Also I cannot find that option to enable "clear sound" or something like that, I don't hear people as clear as I heard them with stock 4.2.2 samsung os...
Do you mean Samsung's Adapt Sound feature?
I believe that it won't be added because it is a Samsung proprietary feature
No there was another feature, Noise Suppression or something...
Also the format storage card option still missing, is an app that does that?
I've added the missing format SD card option.
Can't seem to find the sound option you are talking about on my stock rom (build MFA) though
i think the bug of use dark theme in message is not actually a bug. i think maybe it is the same as cm10.1 in Wonder. the dark theme is apply for quick reply only ( if you enable it, and not use privacy message ). not the whole message app. try to confirm this

yes genius you are right, after a close lookup I saw this. So no bug there.
On the other hand, battery is killing me. With stock os I ran a full day moderate usage. With this one at 4 pm I had to recharge no battery draining apps in fact no third app installed yet.

The one pic I found. I remember seeing this on other devices...
I found it. Try going to Settings, Call, Personalise Call Sound.
On stock OS you did
ok, now the phone won't show up in my computer ( mtp I guess )
tried reboot, etc. nothing works.

Ah, the good old battery drain issue. No phone goes without it. I'd recommend giving the battery a couple of recharge cycles and then see. When switching roms, the battery is always behaving a bit erratic at first. Also, check with BetterBatteryStats if there's something keeping a wake lock.
My battery stats:

I think this adjusts itself according to the language used. I.e if you are in english language when importing contacts, it will be like that.

Probably touched the home or power button. Happened sometimes on stock rom for me as well. Maybe the buttons are just a bit sensitive.

I'll look into this.
arco it the crash on changing language sure happens. however I did remove the default ime with swifkey, so I guess is reaching for it's keyboard. Also I removet velvet, and everything voice search related or search related. Maybe this could be the issue, it doesn't bother me so much.
regarding the phone number format, i wiped /data and selected romanian at boot. It's a system wide setting not a contact issue as I can see, all numbers are displayed that way, phone dialer, messages, agenda, incoming/outgoing calls, etc.
Also with the unlock issue I have this phone for a month I never got it unlocked in my pocket and today happened 3 times.
I am not trying to do anything bad here, I am just using this rom and I want to see it perfect as you and we all do.
My biggest problem on this rom and I am sure other users doesn't have it ... remains this phone number display thing. It's quite hard, because I am used in 15 years oh phone usage with a format, and now when I have to dictate a number or look into it it confuses me, even if it's the same number but those spaces are killing my habbits
Working great
I just installed this ROM and I have not ran into any bugs and I didn't notice any battery drainage. I'm unsure as what the cause is for most of the other users. I however had one slight issue which I resolved by allowing the default file manager root access, the issue was that I could not access my SD card through any normal file explorer. Other than that I'm enjoying this ROM keep up the good work!
Thanks arco68 for this early release and all the hard work you've done
No issues yet apart from one where i couldn't edit any contacts and kept saying "google something has stopped working" and keyboard wouldn't show up. But sorted itself out after a while and now is working fine.
I don't like that we cant change the theme of contacts and messages to a dark one like it is on call logs etc.. White looks out of place
Regardless great stuff arco68
@btnetro: You could maybe give the exact language you changed from and to (English -> Romanian)?
Also, try creating a new contact when your phone book is empty but your regional settings set to Romanian. Does the number issue still crop up?
Also, on your connection to computer issues, try restarting your computer and plug it in a different USB port. Or try another computer. Only post if you are absolutely certain its an issue with the ROM.
You seem to be having bugs specific to you, which could also mean that he procedure in which you installed the custom ROM was not right. Have you tried a reflash, following all the steps arco68 posted on his thread?
I won't be putting up all your issues on the OP unless someone else is also having the unique issues you are having - perhaps some users would like to try to reproduce the issues he is having as well?

I'm having the same issue as you regarding the SD card. May I know how you granted root access to the default file manager? The Superuser app provided with the latest rootkit doesn't seem to have that option to manually add apps.
EDIT: Hmm, a reboot seems to have fixed my issue. But could you still put your steps here in case anyone else has the same issue?
EDIT2: Found the steps:
Open File Manager, press Menu, Settings->General Settings->Access Mode
Choose Root Access Mode

Hello. Did I understand you correctly, that you applied the rootkit after installing CyanogenMod? If so, that's not necessary, and will obviously cause lot's of issues. Superuser app is already included in CyanogenMod.

The sharing feature allows quick sharing of contacts through Bluetooth, Facebook, and other methods. Added a scanner to the search box and lock screen, making it easier to add new contacts. • Email Improved how unread emails are tagged in the inbox. Now, your phone is more capable of adjusting to your habits. Added a newly designed drawer feature. When this feature is enabled, it hides non-system preset apps in a drawer on the home screen, presenting you with a simple and tidy layout. Added a new drawer feature for settings. For settings that take two or more steps to set up, the user can now jump directly back to the main settings page with one gesture. Emergency information added. Users can add their names, blood type, and other information, so emergency services personnel can view this information from the lock screen. Added App twin, a feature that allows users to log in to two different accounts for third-party apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook. [Update notes] 1. EMUI 5.0 includes substantial changes to functionality, which may impact your usage habits. For more details, go to Huawei's consumer website at consumer.huawei.com, and check out our user guide. 2. This update will not erase your personal data, but we recommend that you back up any important data before updating. 3. The system will restart after the update. This will take about 10 minutes. Following the update, your home screen will automatically display the EMUI 5.0 theme. 4. If you encounter any issues while using EMUI 5.0, please document the issue and call our official helpline. Sorry Bud I pulled that link right from the phone as it downloaded
Just an FYI for anyone trying to install this, on FRD-L04C567B162 I get an error "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version".
NFC is working for me. Just made a purchase with Android Pay.
So is the update live for all beta testers? I sent my IMEI information over for the beta but never got a response back. (I had asked if we would be notified.)
Edit: Yep, it's live now. Woo!

i guess we need to upgrade to previous version than the updater can upgrade to latest software..in this case the firmware must be on FRD-L04C567B316 ver.. If we look into this there are 2 more upgrade able version for our device..but these are only my thought because when i had this device for 1st time its upgrade twice to FRD-L04C567B162 version..
So the upgrade process required previous ver. of software...
edit:nah, still failed...lol
Notification Icons
Is anyone else not able to show notification icons anymore in the Status Bar? All I see in settings is the option to show a number or show nothing at all...

I'm noticing on the beta that the camera now crashes 100% of the time, as does the Downloads app. Anyone else seeing this?
Camera app works fine for me. Downloads also opens without an issue. I took the OTA, and did a factory reset, though. I honestly haven't had any issues with it. Though I don't like the numbers notification thing. But other than that. everything else seems good on my end.

I'll be honest I wouldn't have minded the number if it wasn't on every single notification. Would have been perfectly fine if it showed the number cause you had more than 3 or 4 notifications.
No luck here. I'm getting the error "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version".
I'm curious if this is because of the different SOC.
I can see on CPU-Z that my unit is Kirin 955. Perhaps this is the reason.

It's been found that if you are on B162 you will get a "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version" error. So, what firmware do you need to be on before going to the beta N 7.0? I am on B162, and have not unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp, or rooted yet.

I hope theres a fix for it. I read the the problem is with twrp that "it patches the files first then twrp removes it when it flashes the new system.img so therefor it's removed."

WakeBlock is an app that, through a system modification, allows users to block or limit any system wakelock, without the need of any kind of framework.
Currently, we support all versions of Android from Nougat 7.0 to Q 10. We plan to continue the support for future Android version, while anything under Android 7.0 won't be supported. While the patch is supposedly working on ANY device, we won't know unless we try. So try this and let us know!
Recently, we updated the coremod for better compatibility and even added Dark Mode!
This modification can be applied Systemless-ly with Magisk, by creating the Magisk Module from inside the app.
The app is currently in beta stage, so is missing many features we plan to implement in future releases.
Also, beware that the current version of the app is released for free, but it may become paid/donation based in the future.

FAQ
Here you can find the most common questions and their respective answer. Simple as that. READ THEM.
Q - How do i use wakeblock?
A - Once you have installed the app, just open it and click on "Install Core Mod", the app will create the Core Mod needed for your device (this might take a while, from 5 to 30 minutes) and then will reboot the phone to flash it. When the phone has rebooted, open the app: If the message says "Service Bound" you're all set!
Q - How can i block wakelocks?
A - From within the app, just switch to the "Wakelock" tab. Here every wakelock recorded since the first boot with the core mod installed, so give it at least 2/3 days of normal use before blocking anything. Click on the wakelock you want to block, press the "Block" button and then set for how long is the wakelock gonna be blocked!
Q - Which wakelock should i block? For how long?
A - We suggest to check out this guide on XDA to fully understand what it means to block a wakelocks and how it affects your system.
Q - I'm lazy af and i don't want to read all of that, can't you give me a short list?
A - Ok, but we don't take any responsibilities if the phone bricks or your ROM explodes. You are totally free to change the blocking time value to make it as you please but, again, we don't take any responsibilities. You can find the list here. Remember: if you don't find one of the wakelocks, just check in later. If you still don't find it, don't worry at all! Side note: the search button is not case-sensitive.
Q - Can i block the [wakelock name] wakelock?
A - If it is part of the list linked above, you're good to go! If not, we can't assure a thing, but if you find any safe-to-block wakelock let us know!
Q - When is the new version/fix/graphic coming?
A - Do not ask for an ETA. We do this for free, without any ads in the app nor donation packages, we don't even put a price on our app. We all have jobs, university and a private life to manage, we don't have superpowers, so managing all of this takes time. Our free time is pretty short, but we usually put at least half of it on the developing of the app. Be patient and do not harass the team nor the telegram group.
Q - Your app killed [insert any feature here] in my phone!
A - Everything is done by user input, the app by itself (even with the core mod installed) doesn't do anything but reading which wakelock the system is calling. Unless you blocked something we didn't suggest you do to this problem and our app are totally unrelated.
Q - Your app is killing my battery life! WTF!
A - By itself, the app doesn't do anything even with the core mod installed. Keep WakeBlock whitelisted in every hybernation app (like Greenify) but the basic Android Optimization. If the battery drain has increased, double check what you blocked, that might be the reason!
Q - I just updated and it doesn't see the Core Mod!
A - It's a known bug. Check if the app kept all permission (Both root privileges and Storage permission) and simply reboot your phone. It will magically start to see it again! SIDE NOTE: you don't need to reinstall the Core Mod every time you update the app!
Q - How can i uninstall the app?
A - First of all, we are sad that you want to leave us. If you didn't install the Core Mod, or it failed in any way, you just need to delete the app and everything is gone! If you did install successfully the Core Mod, check the WakeBlock backup folder (/sdcard/WakeBlock/Backups). You will find a bunch of different folders with different dates and times. Pick the most recent one and look inside. Here, you will have one of two cases:
CASE 1: FILES = services.odex & and services.vdex | ODEXED ROM
In this case, boot into your custom recovery of choice (TWRP for example, you can't do it from a root explorer) and mount your /system partition. Now check both /system/framework/oat/arm and /system/framework/oat/arm64 for a service.odex and a service.vdex. Here, COPY (and DO NOT MOVE) the files from the backup and paste them to replace the files in your system (one of the two folders above). Now delete the app and you're now WakeBlock-free!
CASE 2: FILE = services.jar | DEODEXED ROM
In this case, boot into your custom recovery of choice (TWRP for example, you can't do it from a root explorer) and mount your /system partition. Here, COPY (and DO NOT MOVE) the file from the backup and paste it to replace the file in your system (in this case /system/framework). Now delete the app and you're now WakeBlock-free!
Q - YOUR APP DOESN'T WORK, WHY?
A - It works. We tested it (and we keep testing it) many times before committing an update! Double check permissons and give it a reboot, usually fixes most of the "doesn't work" problems.
Q - I found a bug! How can i report it?
A - First of all, check on the Telegram Group if anyone else had your problem, both by first searching and then asking directly. If no one can help you on the spot, send a ticket on the @wakeBlockSupportBot. It will ask for a logcat, so make sure you make one while you encounter the problem. DO NOT CONTACT ANYONE OF THE TEAM UNLESS EXPLICITLY ASKED TO.
Q - How do i take a logcat?
A - First of all, make sure that you have the needed Platform Tools. Due to the fact that the app reboots, it's better if you take it with a pc rathern than with an app. Plug the phone into your PC, you start the cmd.exe as administrator (or, if you use Linux, you need to open the terminal with root privileges) and run the command "adb shell", now the console will show the internal console of the phone. From there, run "su", a prompt will appear to your phone to ask for root permission. Approve it, then run "cd /sdcard/Download". Afterwards, run "logcat >> log.txt" (Nothing will appear on screen because it's redirecting every output to the log file). Now start the patch. When it gives the error (or after it reboots), close the app, click "Ctrl + C" to stop the logcat. Then, from the phone, send us the log.txt (you will find it in your Download folder).
Q - Wow! You guys are awesome!
A - Thank you!
TO-DO LIST
- Alarms. Yeah.
- Fixing problems related to some Samsung devices and Pixel devices
- Import/Export system for the blocked Wakelock
- Inserting the FAQ and the suggested wakelock-to-block list into the actual app
- Adding the feature to change the block time without unblocking the wakelock
- Various fixes and improvements
WANT TO INTEGRATE WAKEBLOCK IN YOUR ROM?
We decided to release the core part of the mod to let ROM developers integrate it in their own source code.
Here is the patch for you to simply drag on whichever version of android (should work on 7.x (maybe 6.x?)) and whichever device/ROM you want.
The only things we ask for are (that's not a legal license, but it can make us REALLY upset if you don't do that) :
- You shall credit @GioBozza for the mod by linking this thread in your ROM post (c'mon, don't write it in the bottom of the post, with size 1!)
- You may include this code to any non-commercial work (you can still get donations, we're cool with those!)
- You can not sell this code or get donations by the code of this mod alone
- You may include the free version of the apk in your ROM (in the future we may release a paid version or an unlock app. Of course, that can not be included.)
- You should redirect users here for support about the mod or the app itself
- You should have fun and save your battery
- You may need to drink some fruit juice afterwards - have that ready!
WHOOP, WHOOP - DOWNLOAD:
v0 Templates - platform/frameworks/base repository.
https://github.com/GiovanniBozzano/wakeblock
REMEMBER: the app takes no privileges at all to manage wakelocks. The ROM can even be without root!
Take note that we will update the "core" (android framework) part of the mod, from time to time. It is versioned, so you can keep track of what happened.
Cheers!
Thank you. Seems promising

Try this:
- Download the odex file here (it's the same that you find in the archive, if you want to save data, extract the flashable archive)
- Move the file (with any file browser with root support) to /system/framework/oat/arm64 and replace if asked
- The phone (could) instantly reboot. If not, check if the permissions are rw-r--r-- (644)
- Reboot
It says unbound after I rebooted

You can try by creating those folders and put that file there. Can't guarantee btw

Okay about to try, I really appreciate the help BTW you're a very nice person. Whether this works or not thank you.

There are no folders in the system framework folder. Only files.

Should I add the folders?

Hopefully you find something. Is it because some roms are aosp and some are odex or something? I'm confused about what the difference is and why it makes this mod not work.

Odexing is the way Android now uses to optimize code and generate .oat or .odex machine code files from .dex smali files.
Some ROMs are deodexed: this means all applications run on .dex files and sometimes even system modules (and that's your case).
Currently the mod is tied to the .odex file, but I'm going to support the deodexed version as well.

re-occuring "system update" message after upgrading to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 EU

re-occuring "system update" message after upgrading to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 EU
Hello,
I updated to the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 EU OTA update on my YD201 and since then i get every few day's a popup to search for system updates,
setting it to automatic or disabling the automatic update seams to make no difference.
Fully stock MM EU image, update done trough OTA, only with developer options enabled.
Anyone having this annoying popup? Any idea how to stop it?
Thank you.
I'm having this issue.
I have an yd206 (RU firmware and the appropriate hybrid radio firmware), althought it's chosen the automatic system update option, since last week hourly the system ask me to check for new system updates. I manually check for new updates, the system inform that my system is 'up to date', and about an hour after it asks again to check.
I tried to stop the 'System Update Service' and clean the data and cache, but it didn't work. Tried to clean the data and cache of the app 'System Update' but the system doesn't allow me to.
Maybe it's just a coincidence, but the always-on-screen doesn't show anymore an option to disable the alarm when it rings...
May be the answer is in the OTA update? I mean that your system was updated from lower version to actual over the air. I have a YD201 with 6.0.1 and I don`t facing any problems because it was flashed via PC I think. Backup your data and try to reflash a full MM ROM via PC

I then assume you use the RU version? I can't find an full 6.0.1 EU image.
Same problem ...
Hi,
also have the same problem, every time I turn on the phone, I come up with the banner "Verify Update", even if upgraded to Android 6.0.1.

I don`t see any problem for you to flash Russian ROM, you just will need to set ENG (or any you want) language and use the phone as usual.
I got the same notification few days ago. I've been using the Marshmallow RU rom for few months now. Maybe there's some fixed date within the rom that was just passed which now makes these notifications appear? Like they were planning to release an update before this date and wanted to make sure that people don't keep using this "outdated" one.

Hi Friend!
Just to check, are you sure that your device it's a YD201, and it's IMEI starts with '356'?
Sorry about the question, but at April 10th, Yota Devices published at 'Facebook' an announce about 'grey import' of chinese Yota Devices to Europe and Russia, since the device of our friend @kosmatyj doesn't have the same issue, and I was wondering if this specific issue occurs only at 'non-EMEA' devices with EMEA firmware.
I've found in another forum the same issues described here about re-ocurring update notification and the alarm animation at the always-on display ( http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=550302 ).
I've tried a solution posted there, didn't work for me, but I hope it can help someone:
1. Go to Settings / About phone / Update the system , disable Auto-update .
2. Go to Settings / Security / Device Administrators . You uncheck the Update system .
3. Go to Settings / Applications / All . You find the System Update . Clean the cache and stop the application.
4. Reboot.
I tried clearing the system update app cache, no dice. I also tried disabling numerous System Update services, but the notification keeps coming back. It doesn't seem to be any of the usual Google Play related services. It is especially keen on popping back up when wifi is connected. Maybe the system logs will give some clue. I'll give them a shot once I find the time.
Hi,
every time the phone is started or after a few hours it is continually asked to verify the update even if it is up to date.
The thing is very annoying.

I have an YD206, so Yota won't give me support since they published at Facebook in April 10th that they didn't support the YD206 variant.
But you have the YD201 with the correct firmware, I think you could ask the Yota Support about this issue, maybe they will help us about.
I just tried doing some digging in the logs, but could not find anything that would be directly related. The notification is launched as soon as there is network connectivity after reboot, but I probably don't have the patience to do network traffic analysis.
The Intent that is launched from that notification is the following:
cmp=com.symphonyteleca.update/.ota.SystemUpdates
That is the Activity responsible for checking the updates, but it is not the one that creates the notification. That comes from somewhere else. Some service that first makes a network call (or at least waits for network connectivity), and then creates the notification.
Annoying.
Ok, if you don`t want to flash Russian ROM try to disable notifications for Update Service.
I'm on the Russian ROM (RU1.1.47) and getting these notifications. Also, you can only disable notifications for apps, not services.
One thing that might work would be to block the network call that triggers the notification from the hosts file (provided that wouldn't break something crucial). One would need to figure out the IP that's being pinged first, though...
On Facebook Yotaphone replied with
".....developers already know about the issue with the system update. Please send your IMEIs via private messages. This type of notifications can be disabled remotely by the developers. Thank you for patience and sorry for this inconvenience."
Seen it apparently can be "solved" from serverside it's rather silly that they want to block a list of IMEI's instead of fixing the issue...
Have you tried disabling the service? https://forum.xda-developers.com/yotaphone-one/help/how-to-off-ota-update-checks-t3523849
Edit: OK I seem to have made it work, use "adb shell" (or connectbot) to get a shell on your phone and then:
su
pm clear com.symphonyteleca.update
pm disable com.symphonyteleca.update
Your phone needs to be rooted.
You might need to also disable the service:
pm clear com.symphonyteleca.updateservice
pm disable com.symphonyteleca.updateservice
But it's not present on my Lollipop phone, but it was on Marshmallow.

This actually works, awesome! The first one got rid of the notification, and the second disabled the check. No notifications after reboot.
NOTE: This WILL most likely disable the OTA updates. But it's not like we will be getting too many of those anyways. And now if you go to System Updates it'll open some different (probably Google's default) activity, which will probably never find any update for the device even if there was one released. But personally I always come to XDA to check for updates myself anyways.
Thanks!
Yeah this will also save some data use, you don't need to check for updates every hour when there's one every year
