Samsung Account Processing failed - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I've had my s5 for about 8 months I just recently did a hard reset so like any other new cell it asks for a Google account and a Samsung account if you have one...
Well I put Google account and everything is OK.. By the time I punch in my details for the Samsung account it says processing failed. I know it's not my details because I have 1 other Samsung s5mini and has the same I'd and password.
It's basically a paperweight right now it won't let me get passes the 3rd screen (Samsung account loggin)
Please help

I am having the same problem as well. I bought my phone from someone else over a year ago so I am not sure if it wants their account or what. The crazy thing is that if I use an incorrect password it says invalid password, but when I enter the right one I get processing failed. Not sure what to do, can't Odin older firmware

Check youtube for "Bypass Galaxy S5 reactivation lock"

same thing here. when i use the right password says, processing failed. when i use wrong one, it says, wrong password
pain in the butt this thing.

Samsung account username/password (test - validation) this is easy to be performed by a computer logging at Samsung website.
Customer support of Samsung this is amazing, if you contact them.
In case that you do log-in normally in your Samsung account over the web, and when you do that from your phone this Fail, then something is heavily wrong, and also Samsung customer support them will hold the answers about that too.

Check Samsung Account app permission ... grant everything and try again

I spent the last 6 hours on this, but I'm finally up and running. Forgot that reset your pw and wait 24 hours BS. The problem is the older devices don't recognize the 2-factor authentication, which means you have to sneak in the backdoor and turn it on. No need to call 911 either - leave those lines open for real emergencies! Here's the step by step, (assuming I haven't forgotten anything).
1. On login page, select the microphone button. This will take you to keyboard options. Select "set hot keys" and type any text in the field.
2. Highlight the text and tap to select Google Assist. On the menu that pops up, hit the share icon and then Google Drive.
3. Okay, this is the part I'm blanking on, so good luck! Somehow from here, I was able to access an address bar. I suggest clicking around until something pops up.
4. Once you get to an address bar, type in "Quick Shortcut Maker" and install and open the app. This app creates shortcuts to various applications on your device.
5. In the app, select Applications and scroll to "Settings." Voila! You just snuck in the back door. Interestingly, I was able to access all kinds of applications this way - NOT VERY SECURE SAMSUNG!!
6. The irony of this next step will blow your mind. Head over to the "backup and reset" menu and select factory reset. I know, you're probably thinking, "this is how I got here in the first place." That's what makes this SO funny.
7. Before you can perform a factory reset, Samsung asks you to verify your pw. Go ahead and enter it again. You will magically end up behind the curtain where you are prompted to enable 2-FA on your phone. Yay! And now you are logged in.
8. Before restarting go to the "accounts" menu in settings and view and verify your profile info associated with the Samsung account. I went ahead and entered my phone number here just in case that mattered.
9. I did all of the steps above with the sim card out. It still didn't work at this point, but after reloading the sim card, I am back in business!!

Updates - Can't Sync with Samsung Account

I have searched through the sections but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so hopefully someone can help me out.
When I check for updates under Settings>About tablet and try to sign in with my samsung account (created on samsung's website) it says invalid ID or password. I know it is correct however since I have verified it three times. On the off chance it was linked to samfirmware.com I setup an account there too, but same thing. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.
you are NOT alone.

Right after I noticed on these forums that one need to be signed into a Samsung account in order to get an ota update, I tried to sign in with my existing Samsung account - could not, wrong password.
I tried to create another Samsung account online, and I get errors ' a problem occurred'.
I even tried to use a non existing gmail account, same problem.
Then I spend about two hours on the phone (its not a cell phone, you will probably end up at laptops - but Samsung support is so ****edup, that one knows whats going on. One guy told me to create a brand new gmail account and use that userid to login. Another said I should create a new samsung.com account and use that....no luck.
When I was promised to be called back 24-48hours after open the issue and no call after 72 hours, I called them. Their response was that someone will call me when they have a solution.
Probably think I am stupid and cannot type.
**** SAMSUNG support.
Maybe I would suggest we all open issues with them, regarding this **** support. That is all we can do - maybe a lawsuit because they are selling something that is not working as advertized....
Numbers count! Please open an issue with Samsung.
Your not missing a thing, I received my wifi Gtab 10.1 couple days ago did the same thing and nothing, first it said processing failed then it said wrong password, did the same, logged in on line to the samsung website that was fine. I Called Samy tech support up and they said they are working on linking the accounts together "I take that to mean its a system wide problem" the rep said i can sign up with a diff email. Well i did that too a got the same results. Im guessing they are having some issues with that update sign in/sign up server.
Ill call again tomorrow and see why i cant sign up at all.
samsung support known for a horrible service but i love their products. as long as you are sticking here at the forum you are good. mine too and i dont want to spend more time logging-in. just go to development section and you are good to go!
It's a known issue, but try again. It took a few times for it to go through, but I am now synced. Of course, there aren't any updates available, so it isn't a pressing issue right now

did you eventually use your login info from the Samsung.com site?
Maybe I am missing something really obvious ... but my Samsung Account shows as not sync'ed but I cant find where I can try reentering my username & password for it. When I go into the "Samsung Account" heading in "Accounts & Sync" there are no menu options at all. Am I looking in the wrong place?
EDIT:
Hmmm ... rebooted and now there is a message saying that "Samsung account" has to force close. Lovely.
i didn't use the same login as the website, I used the same login as my Gmail for the Tab, but I think you can use whatever email/password you want.
To access the login screen, go to Settings/About Tablet/System Updates
For whatever reason, trying to get the acct set up on the tab doesn't seem to work for anybody the first time. So, remember the first email and password you used, and do this:
clear data and cache, and force close these 2 apps:
Samsung account
Samsung apps
launch Samsung apps, and agree to the terms
try to sign in to your samsung account with the first email and pass that you used
It worked for me.

Clear data and cache? Do you mean from CWR or somewhere else?
Sorry, from manage apps, clear the data and cache from those 2 apps.
ETA: this only lets you create the account so you can manually check for updates, it does not solve the sync issue.

Select the "All" tab, scroll through to find the app, select it, clear data and cache
You can also manage apps by opening the app drawer, and dragging the icon to the little "i" in the top right corner.

OK, that sort of helped. Went through all of that but when I sign in it says bad password(verified through last pass login I am entering it correctly), and when I try to create account from that page it says account already exists. Frustrating!

When my attempt failed for loggin in from 'settings', 'about', 'software update', these two app's (samsung apps & Samsung account) data and cache are still empty - there is nothing to clear.
I cannot see that it will work either with the CWM data/cache clear, as I did the new UI ROM install, cleared my data and cache in CWM before I did the ROM install and afterwards I still got the same errors trying to login to the Samsung account.
I think you were just one of the lucky one's to sign into samsung account.
Did you use your same account-name & password as your samsung.com info?
Have you EVER logged into the samsung.com account (maybe registered your device online), before trying to connect from the tab10.1 to samsung account?
I think these are all important questions that we need valid answers for, before we can determine the say to proceed with this account login.
Thanks

Sorry - saw your post. But as I said these two app's data and cache were empty for me, so that does not do it either.
I haven't registered my device on the website.
If you get the "username/password already exists" error, I believe you are registered, there is just a bug with the server. Wait a few hours, another day maybe, and try it again
If you're still having problems, please look at this thread, hopefully there's some useful info that can help you clear it up

It works for me - confirmed.
Solved
If you're getting the "processing failed" message when logging in to do the updates, then here's your solution:
Instead of typing in your login information for the "Update" action, go back to "Accounts & sync" menu, then "Add Account", select "Samsung account", and fill in your samsung login information there.
If you have any trouble with your login (such as it rejecting your correct password), go to samsungdive.com and create or update your login information there. Simply changing your password to something different appears to somtimes help.
Once your login information is entered into the "Accounts & sync" area, you should be able to access the update feature without providing any further credentials.
samsung accounts too quirky
i have an account i have been using then updated to ICS.
galaxy s2. then tells me I cant log in with my .com domain in Turkey.
blah blah blah.
using the phone and samsung instructions it says log in under another address.
okay but there is no way of changing the log in on the phone which steadfastly keeps the old gmail address as my log in.
solution I uninstalled samsung apps and samsung account and sent an email to samsung explaining why.
told them when they get their s*** together then i might reinstall.
otherwise no advertising dollars for you samsung and google.
best to give consumers what they want.. a fully functioning OS and proggie.
I can do without samsung app but they cant do without us.
might take a year. suddenly kies for ubuntu.
email addresses that work in all countries.

Nexus 6p after factory reset - can't login

Posted at Nexus help forum as well.
I was doing the N preview. I unenrolled my phone. Got the OTA to revert back to M. It reverted back but when it boots to the language prompt. I select US English, then my wifi. Then it says checking connection, software update, and then Verify your account. I enter my gmail address, I enter my password, it says checking info and a popup (fade in at the bottom of screen) appears saying "Please sign in using one of the owners accounts for this device". It then boots me to Verify your account, email address prompt. And around I go.
Now if I look at my google account under Device activity and notification it does show:
Huawei Nexus 6P
So obviously there is some kind of talking going on but it won't let me do anything on the phone. The wifi, simcard and battery icons are there but I cannot pull down the notifications pane, nor can I access the back, home and app buttons at the bottom (simply not there). I'm guessing that a security feature.
Also, I did try a factory reset. I also tried factory reset and wipe partition but it just won't let me do anything but enter my email and password and loop back to the start.
I'm at a loss.
Thanks!
edit: doing some digging, I did change my password before doing the reset, so could I possibly be in the Factory Reset Protection thing and I'm going to have to wait 72 hours? It's not giving me any kind of warning that that's what is going on but I'm thinking maybe that's it?

FRP BYPASS w/o OTG or ODIN!! On ANY Samsung device! You're Welcome!!!

Okay, so browsing the www I came across this article of a guy bypassing the FRP on his S7 edge... I was trying to find a working method for the T-MOBILE TAB E (sm-t377t) so I tried what the instructions said and FINALLY! I was able to get through... This should work on any model of samsung phones that have the FRP but since I cannot test all the other devices Samsung has created I can only vouch for the Tab E.
Here is the whole list of instructions for S7 edge.... My notes on what I did are after step 7 because step 8 didn't work for me.... But yeah I only had to get to step 7 to get past the lock. Keep this on the dl tho or Samsung is going to come out with a new update to block even this trick...... ENJOY
Steps to Bypass Factory Reset Protection on Galaxy S7/S7 Edge
Step 1. After factory resetting your device when you Reboot your device, you would see the Setup Wizard to login into the previously synced Google account.
Step 2. Select your Language and the press on Next. This will bring the screen for WIFI connection. Connect to a portable hotspot that can be quickly turned off. You may connect to your WIFI router but keep in mind you should have easy and quick access to turn it off as we will be required to turn off the WIFI/Internet access to the device.
Step 3. After connecting it to a WIFI router/hotspot, click Next. Now you will have to close/turn off the WIFI router/ hotspot connection as soon as you see the Software Update screen saying Checking for Updates.
Step 4. As you turn off the hotspot you will see couldn’t Sign In message. Now click Next, you will see the options for setting Date and Time. At this point turn back On the WIFI router or the hotspot connection.
Step 5. Now skip through all the screens until you reach the screen saying Google Services. Scroll down, and tap on the blue text saying Google Terms of Services. This will open a popup with the Terms and Conditions.
Step 6. Select some text in the popup by holding on the screen. After selecting the text, you should see some options like Copy , Share etc. Click on the Share button. This will open a menu which says Setup Wizard.
Step 7. Now hold on to the icon of Samsung Setup Wizard. This will open the Application info for the Samsung Setup Wizard. Tap on Data Usage > UPGRADE DATA SERVICE.
MY NOTES ^^^^That part didn't work for me, it still said I was locked out...-------->>>>>
This step did not work due to security reasons. I cleared cache, plugged in OEM cable, and scrolled down from notification bar and turned off the wifi again and then clicked on settings. (Not sure if OEM cable had any effect on the tablet but I was still able to access settings.) In the settings menu, not all the options were available but there was an option to add a user. Added a user, input name and hit next. Samsung login screen pops up, logged in with my samsung account, hit next, and continued to the new user page. At the new user page I clicked on settings, enabled USB debugging and Unknown Sources and attempted to do a factory reset from the Backup and Settings tab, however it was not available for the added user. I proceeded to switch from the new user account that I made to the original (OWNER) account that was there. I was allowed to switch and was asked to sign into Samsung again. Signed in and proceeded to home screen. From here I was able to reset everything from the device. It restarted and I was able to login as if it were a brand new device.
Step 8. This will open a menu asking you to chose the application to Open With. Select Chrome browser. Once Chrome browser opens skip through the process and then open Rootjunkysdl.com using the address bar.
Step 9. Once this website opens, tap on Apps and look for ‘com.sika524.android.quickshortcut.apk’. Download this application to your device .
Step 10. Now open Google.com on Chrome and search for Samsung App Store. Tap on the first link that appears in the search results, this should open the Samsung app store. Scroll down a little and tap on the icon saying Samsung Galaxy Apps. This should open the Galaxy apps application on your phone.
Step 11. Once you have Galaxy Apps application running tap on the More option at the top right corner of the screen and then tap on Sign In. Then Sign In using your Samsung account or create a new one if you don’t have one.
Step 12. Now search for the ‘file explorer” using the search bar and install any one of them. Once installed open the file explorer application.
Step 13. In the File explorer, open the Downloads folder and install the Quick Shortcut Maker application that you downloaded earlier. You may have to allow installation of applications from Unknown sources.
Step 14. Once the application is installed tap the Open button. In the application perform a search for Google Account Manager, you will see various result tap the one that says Type Email and Password and then hit the Try button.
Step 15. This would open the activity for typing the Password. Tap on the three dotted menu button at the top right corner of the screen and select Browser Sign-In.
Step 16. Sign In using any Google account you want to use and wait a few seconds. After you are Signed in Quick shortcut maker application will reappear. Now just keep tapping the back key until you reach the Google Services screen once again.
Step 17. Now press Next on the Google Services screen. Keep tapping Next until you see the screen saying Account added.
Step 18. Skip through all other screens and tap the Home button. If the home screen doesn’t appear for you then perform a Reboot.

Step 4. As you turn off the hotspot you will see couldn’t Sign In message. Now click Next, you will see the options for setting Date and Time. At this point turn back On the WIFI router or the hotspot connection.
STEP 5. Make sure to Create a PIN lock for phone when prompted!
Step 6. Hit power Key, lock phone, and Hit Power again to bring up LOCK SCREEN! PHONE ACCESS!
Step 7. Drag phone icon from lower left to center, then type in PIN
Step 8. Dial Number, add to contacts, make sure contact has a website~! Go back to phone, go to Contacts click on new Contact you made, and open website with Chrome!
---from this point, more pertains to my G360T1 running Android 5.1.1---
Step 9. Go to http://rootjunkysdl.com/files/?dir=Apps/FRP
Step 10. Download and install 5.apk (Android_5_Google_Account_Manager.apk didn't work for me, but 5.apk did)
-If you have a different android version, make sure to use the right one~!
Step 11. Download and install com.rootjunky.frpbypass-1.0.apk run it after install.
Make sure to hit the three dots in the upper right hand corner when the app opens, and do browser sign in.
Now sign in with your Google account...
Viola~! Back out of everything, and just go through startup like Normal~!
Now go to Settings, Backup & Reset, Factory Data Reset, Done~!

Factory reset queation

Hi
I recently sold my Samsung S7 Edge. Just before doing so I performed a factory reset on it. I couldnt find the option to do it through the normal settings (it wasn't in the backup and reset section, where online guides were saying it should be).
In the end I booted into recovery mode and factory reset it from there.
Now the new buyer has just contacted me to say that he can't login to the phone as it's asking for my login details, and can I give them to him and then quickly change my password, so he can login. Obviously I'm not going to do this!
But is it possible what he is saying is true and even though the phone has been factory reset it still needs my login details???
probably a scam or factory reset didn't work.
tell him to boot I to recovery and factory reset or use Odin to flash stock rom
I looked online and there's something called factory reset protection on android phones now. It stops someone stealing a phone and then factory resetting it and then using it. Basically I should of removed by Gmail account first before factory resetting it or failing that after I factory reset it logged in to the phone and then a new owner could have entered a new user account.
The buyer is being a real pain in the butt though. He keeps asking for my password, which I've told him I can't give him. He also only lives 20 mins from me and I keep suggesting we meet up and I'll sort it but he seems to think he has no time to do this!
Wow this website used to be the font of all knowledge but now it's deader than dead.
For anyone who does get in this situation, I spoke to Samsung tech help. And they told me I need to get the phone, login when prompted. Then go into the settings and delete my Google account, once done so factory reset the phone. Now the Factory Reset Protection (FRP) will be gone, so the buyer can input a new Google account.
Don't ever give your password to anyone. And yeah, you should've removed your G account before handing in the device.
However, as you said there is a solution, you can ask the buyer to follow these steps to bypass your Google account so he can login his:
https://www.unlockunit.com/blog/bypass-google-account-verification-factory-reset-protection/
After choosing the correct language please follow the next steps:
1. Connect the phone to a Wifi Network (preferably your Home network)
2. The next screen will ask you for the Google Account
3. Tap the text field in which the account should be inserted until the Keyboard comes up
4. Tap and hold the “@” character until a Settings menu pops up
5. Select Google Keyboard Settings
6. Tap on the 3 dots in the top part of the screen (or More depending on what Android OS you are running)
7. Select the Help&Feedback item and select any item in the list that will follow
8. Long press to select any text on this page and click on Websearch in the upper right corner
9. A search field will be shown (delete the text inside the search field)
10. Type Settings in the search field
11. Tap “About Phone” and tap 7 times on the Build Number to enable Developer Options
12. Return to the previous menu and open the Developer Option that just appeared
13. Allow OEM Unlocking and tap Back two times
14. Restart the device
15. Connect it to Wifi again
16. Notice how you won’t be prompted to log in the previous Google Account and instead the phone will ask you to ADD a new Google Account

Helping buyer turn off my FRP lock

Hello,
My wife and I recently sold our Sprint S7 Edge phones on eBay. I factory wiped them and dropped them in the mail. I was contacted by the buyers saying they cannot get them activated or turned on because of some kind of Google lock. I've never heard of this until I was contacted. In the old days, you just wiped them and went on your way. I did some quick research and discovered that FRP is a thing. I obviously want to help these buyers get the items that they bought working. I doubt it is as easy as clicking remove access to the devices via https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity because it is probably some sort of local protection? I don't want to give 2 strangers my password, but I read about changing my password to something temporary and then giving that person my login and utilizing 2 pass authentication to allow the device to get cleared and then changing my password to something I actually want again. I used the money from the sale of my phones to purchase the new phones so I really can't just afford to refund the phones and take them back. Is there something Google customer service can do?
thanks,
-c
I'm pretty sure they are gonna need a password, unless we have a bypass frp guide here on xda
So I reset the password to a junk password for the purposes of sharing. I'm thinking this should work.
1. let him enter the junk password.
2. when I get the 2fa popup say "yes"
3. once I accept that device, promptly change the password and say "log out all devices on this account"
4. reset password to something I actually want
5. he can set his own google account on the device
This google account has no financials or anything. I'm thinking that step 3 performed seconds after the 2fa prompt should be enough
What say you?

This will work fine. once the account logs in once, it will ask the owner of the phone if they want to save the account or not (if they have malicious intent then may click on yes) so once you confirmed they got passed the lock and you accepted the login 2fa prompt, immediately change password then log out of all devices.
That is the plan. I'll have the device manager up on my computer and once the 2FA goes through, I'm going to change the password revoke access on all my devices for good measure. I'll just log back in after.
I really wish Google had something in their system to account for this. My sister did something similar with an iphone and was able to "ok it" on a webpage and release the device.
