Hello and Welcome to the MIUI 7 Nexus 6 Port Thread !
I've started this Thread to create a MIUI 7 Port for our beloved Nexus 6.
In order to do this, i need a lot of Help from YOU!
I will edit this Thread from time to time to make it more Eye Friendly. Also i've included DEVB on this Thread.

First of all we have to wait for a Stable MIUI 7 Marshmallow Build from Xiaomi. I think a Mix of Mi4 and/or Mi Note / Pro System is the Best Choice.
Base will be a AOSP ROM on Android 6.0 (Maybe my last ROM Evolvere HD3) but let's see...
The Second thing is that i need Help with logging and Kernel Patches (I'm not the Linux Guy)! If you want to Help me with the Port just send me a PM here on XDA. Or text me on Hangouts to [email protected] !

No 64 Bit devices Mate! Mi4 has a SD801 and the Mi Note too (Maybe SD805 idk.) The Pro Version has a 1440p Display and a SD810 64Bit. But we can use parts of the System to have no layout Problems caused by 1080p System on our 1440p Screen. :angel: I've done 1 or 2 Ports in the past,that was on early Kitkat but there are some things i can still remeber

Only problem with the mi4 and the mi note is neither of those devices got lollipop miui. I'm not too sure they will update them to marshmallow

You've Seen it... Ok. I'm talking with MIUI Germany to get my Hands on the MIUI 7 6.0 Sources. Maybe i get some links to the Test Builds...

Would it be better to just try to port the lollipop version of miui. That would be more of a reality. I really don't care to have a marshmallow version of it. Just my opinion. I'm sure everybody would be happy just to have it.

I had Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and now (of course) Motorola Nexus 6, I tried a lot of ROMs but MIUI was the best of all. Now I'm waiting for this MIUI 7 ROM.

Just bought my 1+2. Currently using 1+1 and thinking if it's better to use cm12.1 rather than oxygen os. How different are these 2 roms? Coming from 1+1,im more inclined to cm12. Please advise.

I'd be inclined to agree if there was an official CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly channel for the 1+2
Pardon my ignorance. In that case, I'm pretty sure there would be one soon since this is one of the flagship. [emoji2]

Buddy.. I HV used both ROM, oxygen is a new kid .. It works fine so do cm .. But if u want variety in customisation den go for cm. Also its older den oxygen.

True..but unofficial work fine here. Or u can wait for its release, I don't think it vl take much tym,
I think I'll wait for official cm12.1.... Love the customisation options there

there is lots of complaints about Oxygen Os in chinese forums. Actually Op didn't have much time to do the test before release the official (or stable) build, because it should be preinstalled on the Oneplus 2. That is to say, so far, there is not much difference between official and preview...

Sure, but that doesn't mean it's less suitable for the phone?
What OS is currently working better on the OP2?
OXYGEN OS until Official CM 12.1 here as well. CM is THE reason why I bought 1+1 in the first place.
I am using Unofficial CM 12.1 on my OPT and it works fine.
Missing fingerprint yeah, and there are several bugs like LED notif, home button response for waking up the phonem double screen tap, little network errors etc, but it's so faster than Oxygen ... It's a great OS but not mature enough. CM is mature.
I hope bugs will be fixed soon and it will be perfect.

this is also another Os named Hydrogen Os for chinese Users...
But neither of these is considered feature-complete.
So my personal opinion is to keep waiting...
Seeing there is no fingerprint support in unofficial cm, I shall use oxygen for the meantime

i am right now on MIUI V7 Note 3 N-9005 v 6.5-20 modded by ENIAC & Atrankas. and am simply loving it.
Guess who is the first one to port MIUI 8 to Note 3 Samsung,
Fingers crossed. checking every hour on goolge whether anyone has ported yet?

As far as I know, the source code for porting MIUI 8 isn't available yet. (As of 19/08)
You will have to wait for it to be released then for someone to port it. So there won't be a Miui 8 rom for the Note 3 before a long time I think.

Miui belongs to Xiaomi and I don't see why Xiaomi would bother to make an official port for the note 3...
I am not sure Xiaomi ever made an official port for a non Xiaomi device (?). All the existing port on xda and miui'so forum are made by the community.
Anyway the Note 3 is quite old now and Xiaomi has no point in porting MIUI 8 to such an old device...

Unfortunately there isn't any because the patchrom is still kitkat based. Hope MIUI 8 patchrom (if there will be any) would base on mm or better nougat, at this point.

I was using MIUI7 for a day, but I always had trouble swiping notifications away. I'd swipe right, but the notifications wouldn't go away. Only when I pressed down for a second before, then dragged did it swipe away. Do you experience it too?

the bug free build will be ready when you build it. don't ask for eta's.

First of all, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is Snapdragon 625 & Xiaomi Redmi 4x is Snapdragon 435, so you shouldn't be calling it "aka".
Official Nougat ROM from MIUI or LOS 14.1 hasn't even come out yet(to sum up, Marshmallow ROM still have some bugs) so we can't expect "when" will someone release a what you call "bugfree build". But we are thankful that there's one developer who is working on it.
Bugfree? Never. The released sources are somewhat broken: apparently assisted GPS will never work. Hardware GPS is working though.
For me, MIUI China Stable 8.2.1.0 is almost bugfree

Never say never We are waiting for MUIU on 7.0N, so when that happens I believe many of the problems can be fixed and we can continue going on LoS14 and forward.

I could go on for a very long time about MIUI bugs. I'm going to list only a few of them that bother me daily: the extended notification actions icons are not the right color (white on light gray background, instead of black), battery is worse than 8.1.2.0, the governor sometimes turns two cores off for no apparent reason, and compatibility with some apps is not perfect. Hell, this phone has firmware level bugs that will never be solved.

Assuming Xiaomi actually releases 7's sources.
If you look at current progress in development section it's looking like we should have a good one by the end of June if everything stays on track.

We'll get miui 9 but maybe based on android 6, not 7.Just like now we have miui 8 based on android 7, 6 and i think 5 depending on device.It doesn't indicate the android version, just the UI version.

Just sharing this as I was searching for best miui roms and got this...
Best miui rom I used. If anyone wants to use this rom for their daily use, its a really good choice. Everthing works fine, no glitches whatsoever...

Best miui rom I used. If anyone wants to use this rom for their daily use, its a really good choice. Everthing works fine, no glitches whatsoever...

Yeah, I just saw your given link.
I was using older version of this rom as I found out only the older versions....I thought this was rom was never gonna update. But, here it is...

I'm using a RN5 right now and I have R5+ too... So, for both the ROM is working very, very good, very fine...
Decent battery life, GCam working perfectly... Themes, etc...
Be careful with this rom (although link is dead now) so HTCMania calls Redmi Note 5/Pro to Whyred device cause this is the new standard denomination from Xiaomi and our device Vince is called Redmi 5 Plus and it has other different forum in this site than the mentioned here.
This is actually the thread for this rom for our device https://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=1445531 but it was closed too according moderator for no support.
I don't know why there is no one supporting after this rom is so successful. Maybe the devs left it with all the errors fixed and made it pretty hard for us to go back to any other custom rom than this, especially me because I love miui roms and added mods have made this rom outperform every other miui custom/modded rom so far......
guys, just a quick question. did you install the firmware too?
did you do it after flashing the rom and before rebooting?

No...there is only one big zip file of 1.2 or 1.3gb. Just flash it through any custom recovery and reboot..

for redmi 5 plus is only 7.1.2

They continue supporting this ROM...every month there is a new update... The only bad thing is that you have to wait a lot...
They have telegram group for the ROM updates and other one for questions...

I didn´t refer to your link, I referred to the link provided by OP in the post #4 and I said that the link from HTCMania fortunately was dead at that moment so this was not for Vince but for Whyred and I guess he took note of this.
Just warning to the users so both devices were rebranded; Redmi Note 5 - Whyred from the link no longer is called Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi 5 Plus - Vince no longer is called Redmi Note 5 nor Redmi Note 5 Plus.
Anyway thanks for the new link, just waiting less of 24 hours to unlock my second R5P.

Do I need to format data if I want to try any other ROM after flashing this ROM...
I had a very bad experience few days back when I wanted to revert back to HAVOC after flashing MIUI 10 based on 8.1..

same here my phone is forcely encrypted because of miui oreo. so i formatted my data
