Moto e 2015 toolkit [3.0] = - E 2015 General

Currently updating thread.....

Version 2 is out! Let me know what you think. (And if it works)

What does this do? If i had to guess, i would say it has to do something with firmware restoration. Can You Clarify?

Well, the 5.1 US retail firmware is carrier free, so I assume it would work, as long as yours is the LTE varient.

From what I know, Verizon has to be configured to work with GSM, so if you install stock, you'll have to probably configure that again. Wait for the firmware I upload today.

Mkay, but just to let you know, all the stock firmwares are signed, and can be flashed with a locked bootloader. TWRP is unsigned, and needs an unlocked bootloader.

yes, you need to be on stock brazil rom.
i RSD's brazil's 4.4.4 then did the update to 5.0.2, then manually flashed the modems. Then i flashed TWRP, so now i am sitting on a regular rooted xt1058 5.0.2 moto x. The warning people are giving is that once you do this, like previous updates, you cannot RSDlite back to a 4.4.4 build. This is not an issue for us, as we can just flash stuff within TWRP, like krypton, for example.

Need a little help please:
I'm now on cm12, flashed over stock KK rooted (twrp, unlocked BL). I have a nandroid backup of my 4.4.4 rooted made before flashing CM.
If i restore that and then go to the RSD process, will I have any problems "downgrading"?

The only "downgrade" people are talking about is bootloader version. OS version does not matter.
If you were stock KK, then you probably have the KK BL which is the most recent BL besides the 5.0.2 release. Flashing the 5.0.2 release just means you can no longer flassh the stock 4.4 SBF package because that attempts to install the older bootloader. you can still flash the rom associated with the SBF package though twrp, if that makes sense

Very risky flashing a different carriers boot loader and gpt.bin.I would just wait a little bit longer.
Again, please be aware that if you flash another carrier/model 4.4.4 and flash the brazilian OTA, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT try to downgrade back to your original stock model/carrier 4.4.4 to take the OTA meant for your device
These instructions are fairly easy to follow and people assume it's just as easy to get back where they started but it's not, if you flash the brazilian OTA then be prepared to wait for a leaked 5.0.2 SBF for your model/carrier, there's no guarantee that it will be leaked and even if it is you have to hope that the gpt/bootloader version is the same or newer than the ones in the brazilian OTA
It does work fine but know the risks and don't expect XDA to be able to fix everything

XT1068 RETLA (Latin America) Lollipop OTA?

Hey,
Has anybody with an XT1068 from Latin America (non-Brazil) received the Lollipop update yet? It seems like all the other models have got an OTA except for this one Here is the current software version on my phone:
21.11.23.titan_retla_ds.retla.en.01 retla
KXB21.85-23
Any idea if perhaps I can convert my phone to a global or UK model (without screwing up the radios!).
Cheers,
Su

I forgot mention that you need to flash the Brazil radio to detect the SIMS.

You can install the titan prime rom, is builded for all moto g variants, you gonna be good in signal and network

With the LP ROM, are you able to re-lock the bootloader?
You can relock but you´ll never get the state of "locked bootloader" again. There are three options:
1) Bootloader locked (and never been unlocked)
2)Bootloader unlocked
3)Bootloader locked (after unlocking)
So you won´t get back your warranty and there is no expedient reason to relock bootloader again.

Hey,
The problem I am now having is that when I relock the bootloader (so it goes to Status Code 2), the phone won't boot up any more! I get the error message "failed to validate system image".
Cheers,

Here is another user with that problem:

The best would be to unlock it again.

LG G STYLO Users READ HERE Before Trying to Root + KDZ Files

Hi everyone, little update here we have Root for either 5.0.2 or 5.1.1.
If you still on LP 5.0.2 you can safely root your Device using LG One Click Root or Kingroot and if you are using T-mobile (H631) or Metro (MS631) you can safely flash Custom Recovery (TWRP 2.8.7.0 Thanks @Unjustified Dev) and flash the LP 5.1.1 Flashable ZIP (thanks @GameTheory )
NOTE: There is no Custom Recovery for Boost Variant neither KDZ file yet.
NOTE 2: If you take the OTA or Update using LG Software (Tmo and Metro) you'll get LOCK Bootloader but no wories there after Rooting using new 5.1.1 Method you can safely Unlock Bootloader by going under "Developers Options" and check " Enable OEM Unlock " and flash Custom Recovery using Flashify (THIS ONLY WORKS FOR T-MOBILE AND METRO)
NOTE 3: if you are on LP 5.0.2 or LP 5.1.1 just go CLICK HERE to Root, Install Custom Recovery and/or get Flashable LP 5.1.1 Update
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS IS IMPORTANT/ WARNING.
I recommend using the KDZ file is if your Device is UNRECOVERABLE, Reason why b'cuz once you restore your phone using this KDZ you'll loose having the Bootloader Unlock and ability to Root so TAKE THIS AS LAST RESOURCE.
NOTE : This Process Will WIPE your device including device internal storage. (External SDCard are safe)

When recover using KDZ (latest version) does lock the Bootloader, but with T-mobile and Metro can be easy unlock by just checking OEM Unlock un developers option , Boost and other variant don't have this luxury of Unlocking Bootloader.

Issue with your network coverage appeared before or after you flashed the provided aboot? You should know that we JUST made that work (literally less than two hours), you can't expect no issues.
You should probably wait till we have a working TWRP recovery so you'll be able to flash a dual sim rom, but if you're still willing to try you might as well provide more information

Well it appeared right after flashing h440n rom. I dont think it has to do anything with the aboot file

Then maybe flashing the modem from a stock LP h422 rom would solve that issue, since secure boot is disabled by the patched aboot it shouldn't be a problem
-I think-, actually I can't tell for sure if the modem.bin is all you need

And how am i going to do that ?
What If i flash my own h442 rom , i would lose the aboot patch, right ?

You need to follow the procedure detailed by fobos in the general thread to found the aboot block but instead of looking for the aboot you should write down the modem and radio ones.
Once you did that get a h422 rom, google and download "WindowsLGFirmwareExtract", extract the DZ file, then extract the modem.bin from that DZ and flash the same way we did with aboot but with the modem block (and maybe the radio one but IDK how is called honestly, you have to figure out by yourself)

@mayankjet, did you still with problems with your device?
I have a brazilian dual-sim version (H442f). I only could get phone and 3G/4G coverage after adding this line to build.prop and rebooting the phone (additional_build_properties section, close to line 200):
Code:
#
# ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES
#
[COLOR="Red"][B]persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds[/B][/COLOR]
I copied this from the build.prop from the build.prop of lollipop version. By luck, it worked.
Don't try to use older versions of modem.img, since it can lead to muting the sounds (music). How do I know? Been there, done that

Yes, the problem still persist. That's why I'm on lollipop, will try your fix hoping it will work.

Will this upgrade work on phones in the EU? I live in Sweden and the Moto G5 3GB ram version with 16GB ROM.
Might be useful to someone - Here goes: I got my G5 (16G, 2G RAM) direct from O2 in the UK and it came with just the O2 App Space as an extra app. I wanted to try a 'stock' moto nougat rom so I first unlocked the phone (£2 on ebay), and I then used the firmware posted in this thread using RSD Lite for Mac/Linux. Took a couple of minutes and my phone was wiped in the process. Once the phone rebooted, the O2 App Space app was gone and the only apps were the standard stock Google nougat apps. My phone still shows 'o2gb' in the Software Channel under Phone Status.
The values below are after I flashed the NPP25.137-33 Stock Firmware
Phone: Moto G5
Baseband version: M8937_8000.122.02.45R CEDRIC_EMEA_CUST
Build number: NPP25.137-33

Awesome! Sounds like this can be used universally on the Moto G5. My Software Channel is reteu (retail EU) but it seems that wont change by this update. The software was for Brazil retla (retail Latin America) but you are sill on o2gb. I have Baseband Ver: M8937_8000.122.02.40R and I noticed yours was xxx.45R. Is this just part of the update?
Most importantly did this update fix the horrible background noise issues when filming video!
Anybody else that tries flashing the update on your non Latin American phones please let us know how it worked out!
Kudos for testing this out :good::good::good:
both roms (the NPP25.137-33 and the NPP25.137-15) give me "Invalid zip file format!". Tried flashing through twrp>install and twrp>ADB sideload.
I've accidentally wiped my system, so no OS...
Any ideas on what to do next? Is there some other way you guys are flashing this rom that isn't bothered by the "invalid zip file format"?

You need to unzip and flash it using fastboot flash. There are lots of guides.

What version of the G5 do you have? There are a few versions as you know like the XT1676 3GB ? Have you tried using something beside twrp. If fastboot flash works and twrp does not then we learned something about twrp. I am using Debian GNU/Linux but the OP has provided info that RSD-Lite-Mac-Linux works.
Please keep us posted!!

Thanks. Will try that.
@onryo: I've got the XT1676 NL, with modemM8937_8000.122.02.40R.
I tried rooting it useing the guide from techbeasts.
Everything went according to plan, except installing magisk. I only got the manager, not the other apps. So I didn't get root. Instead of trying to install supersu, I went into twrp again and messed around, being a complete and utter noob... on the other hand, I learned a lot the last couple of days
Yesterday I saw this post, tried the stock rom that is supposed to be used for this modem, but it was corrupted. re-downloaded, still corrupted. Found another version, got file format error, then I tried the one from OP with the same error.
Now I'm going to flash them using fastboot. Wish me luck, hope I don't brick it.

In the zip file, there's an info txt file with the same filename as the zip, but it ends with ...info.txt.
It mentions the modem version (among other things)
UPDATE: damn, I love you ppl.
Flashed the separate files using the guide for the G4 (it had the same files). Phone now has an OS again. Going to set up the phone now. Will let you know by tonight if everything is working. I used the file for the M8937_8000.122.02.40R modem, as that is the model I have.

I forgot to say that in your case flashing only system and boot will do the trick. I always prefer keep this things as simple as posible.

If I just flash system and boot would that allow me to use NPP25.137-33 even though I have the M8937_8000.122.02.40R modem?. The reason I am asking is fsg.mbn is never written to the phone. Am I wrong about this?

I'd don't know, you can try it with system, but before that, do a nandroid of system to restore in case of failure.
In the case of boot, it sounds dangerous, without flashblank available... It can be a disaster.
Never flash a bootloader unintended to your device. Besides that, it can work. By example Nexus 7 WiFi bootloader can be installed in Nexus 7 3g. Do you want to be the first to try it?

What kind of videos issues do you have? Do you still have that weird background noise in your videos? Wondering if there was some code that was fixed. You mentioned you are using stock. Kind of hard to get good background noise when testing in my apartment. Ill test it out in town.
Big man!

You shouldn't it's an stock. But be aware, with a locked bootloader you can't go back to your original stock system image, because it's a previous build. You can't flash older versions over a new one with a locked bootloader.
If something goes wrong and system doesn't load, you will be stuck until an update for your original software comes out, because you can't unclok your bootloader without be into system.
This time it worked, but be careful.
