Lockscreen display turning off by display timeout (not by lockscreen timeout) - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Aplications may cause that problem? Restarting phone or removing battery doesnt solve that problem. I have set 2min display timeout and immidiate lockscreen timeout but while phone is locked it turns off display after 2 min.

So all works like it's supposed to!
Not an issue nothing to see here move along.

Phone Locking problem

I'm running jack's ROM v2.
I've set the screen-lock to automatically activate when idle for "0 minutes". I expected this to mean that if my phone dims, then it'll screen lock.
But the problem is, after 30-60 secs (I haven't counted), it will screen lock. I've set the screen to dim at 3 mins, but the lock comes on a lot sooner.
Anyone have any ideas how to change the registry so that I can make the screen lock only when I press the screen-off button at the top of the phone?? Or at least make it screen-lock only when the phone naturally dims at 3 minutes??
Any suggestions would be great
THANKS!!
bump? someone?

[Q] TV out with screen timeout

Would it be possible for somebody to release a mod that when you enable TV out, your phone's screen will still timeout at whatever time you have it set (ex: 30sec), but what is being shown through TV out will still be on? If you were to touch the screen it would turn on again, allowing you to pause/ff/rw/stop whatever you're watching. I think this would help a lot with battery life when you're displaying something on a larger screen and don't need to see it on your phone.
In Android, when the screen turns off due to a timeout or lock, it will suspend things like media, webkit stuff, and the UI. So the only way this would work out is if someone modified the media library so it doesn't suspend when the "screen off" event happens.
BUT! I have used an application (requiring root) that will set the screen brightness below the system's limit, so instead of being restricted to 20 out of 255 as the minimum, you can set it to 0.
With this, it is possible for an application to detect user inactivity, and set the brightness to 0/255 after inactivity, while you keep the Android screen timeout setting to "Never" so that the media doesn't suspend and everything keeps running.

[Q]lockscreen is goneļ¼

It's strange that when i press the lockscreen botton after screen is turned off by screen timeout,my phone doesn't show lockscreen and directly jumps to the launcher. But if I lock my screen manually by pressing the lockscrren botton, next time the lockscreen will come up.
MAYBE SOME APPS IS STOP THE LOCKSCRREN FROM COMING UP.How can I find it?
I have no problem in system setting.Swipe to lock has been chosen.
Check your settings again.. There is a setting where you can adjust the time how long your phone will remain unlocked after your phone has gone to sleep.

Lockscreen timeout delay to less than stock? (Not display timeout)

I have searched everywhere & cannot find anything on changing the time that the lockscreen turns back off without installing a custom lockscreen.
Do any of you know how to dig into the filesystem to change this?
I simply want to change the timeout to 5 seconds, so when I turn my phone on to check the time, it turns off by its self in just a couple seconds.
I dont even use the lockscreen for long anyway.
I have the Display timeout to 15 seconds & its great, I also have the lockscreen to appear immediately when the power button is pressed (a pretty obvious choice of settings, since I want to have the lockscreen present as soon as possible.

[solution] lockscreen timeout

So my mxpe lockscreen wasnt timing out at all, using latest google phone wakes up the device leaving lockscreen opened and if plugging in the turbopower waking the lockscreen it would stay opened. I found this solution to work.

Ok. So recently I used "power saving" mode. I took it off immediately after I didn't need it any longer. For some reason, the Android system on my phone didn't register that, so my phone lock screen kept time-outing after 3-seconds (kinda annoying when trying to use Samsung Pay).
Anyways, do what I did: simply go to Settings>System>Battery>Power Saving Mode>On
Then just turn it back off. Kinda like cycling it, but only once. This time around, my Edge seemed to pick it up, and register it. My timeout screen is now longer than those annoying 3-seconds.

I guess it didnt fix it. The sleep when in active is set for screen and lock screen. This sux. I have sleep set @30min so my lockscreen will stay alive for 30min.
Found a real solution that works. Found here.

Some stated to goto developer options/running services and kill one by one each service and power off the screen and back on till timeout works on screen well I did this and found that Material Notification Shader kept the timeout screen from timing out so I disabled the app and I have a timeout on the screen after I power on the screen and/or plug in the power cord.
