Pc Xbox 360 controller - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have a quick question: I have an Xbox 360 joypad for the pc (with the usb wireless adapter). If I connect the pc usb adapter to the Nexus player with an otg cable, can I use the controller without problems and without root (and maybe, without install additional software)?
Thanks in advace!

USB problem on my Milestone 2

Hi,
since yesterday my micro usb connector is not working, i can charge the device through the microusb but im not able to connect it to a computer, any ideas?
thanks
Are you using the standard USB cable that came with your phone or a third party microUSB cable.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
When you say, unable to connect....
Using which mode? Mass Storage? Phone portal? Media Share? (all of them?)
Yes im using original cabel that came with the phone.
i tried all of these modes, but non of them worked. Now the phone died, i wont start, only thing thats happening is that the LED near the usb connector is flashing when im charging it...
try a different cable, your can be faulty, if not funcioanr, install a ftp program to connect to a wifi pc.

Have you noticed this topic is 10 months old?
Sent from my Milestone 2 XDA App
I have the same problem
whenever I connect it to my pc the device is charging but no USB mode is working
and the USB icon still appears even when the cable is is removed and its gone after restarting the phone.
Maybe the USB connector is broken (or the contacts are messy). But if you want discard software error, you can try reflash firmware or do cache/data/dalvik wipe.

Connect a controller ?

Can you connect a controller with an usb otg cable or do u need root for this to work ? i have a ps3 controller.

Yes, you can connect a controller via usb OTG cable/adapter without root. I connect my "Enter E-GPV gamepad" using OTG cable and "PNY OTG adapter". But unfortunately my gamepad's keys are not getting mapped correctly, so I am unable to play any game. I think you have a PS3 controller, so it will work properly.

Universal USB Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter

Has anyone tried connecting MOJO CTRLR to a universal 4.0 Bluetooth adapter successfully? The day I got my two MOJOs I was installing the one in my bedroom and tried to move the CTRLR adapter from USB 2.0 to the 3.0 to work in TWRP when the flimsy plastic on the back of the adapter came off. it still works but I ordered a couple of USB 4.0 adapter with the hope to replace the damaged original from Mad Catz.

Sorry just seeing your message. it did not work.
sorry for reviving (I don't get why it's so wrong if the thread is still actual..), but well.. it's still on top of gögle hits..
anybody tried them in actual MOJO? I'm going to buy few of them - and for PCs (based on above) they should work.. but what about the actual Mad Catz MOJO? I don't have much experience with Android (mostly moderate hatred) - so I think it's question of drivers / what's included / supported already..
(I will give you an update after my findings - esp. if no-one has anything to add here).
Hi there I recenly lost the usb dongle that came with the controller. This gamepad was included with the mad catz mojo android games console. I guess you need that dongle as the controller is ( bluetooth smart ) not normal bluetooth. I recently ordered a usb bluetooth V4 wireless mini dongle. I will reply back on here with my findings once it is posted to me

03/07/2019 - usb bluetooth V4 wireless mini dongle came today did not work at all, so I guess it has to be the usb bluetooth smart dongle that came with controller which I lost in first place. Could not even buy or find a replacement usb bluetooth smart dongle from eBay for it

If anyone finds a way to buy a usb bluetooth smart dongle for this controller and get it working, could you please leave a link here for other people who are having these same problems
Thank You :good:
it is my understanding, that getting android 5.0 into the M.o.j.o. should make the m.o.j.o. be able to connect to the controller without the need of any bluetooth... if i am not mistaken, the fact is android 4.2 comes with bluetooth 2.1 support and the controller itself is bluetooth 3 or 4 (cant remember which one it is)

Enable USB OTG for rooted Huawei Acsend XT H1611?

Now we have root, Is there a way we can enable the USB OTG function?
I have a USB storage and a Seek thermal camera that both need power out from micro USB port of the phone.
Thanks guys
Wonder if OTG works on this phone with a simple USB drive. And if it even has OTG support in stock ROM. There are apps on Play Store to check.
in rooted xt usb mass storage not supported. unless there's a way to enable something huawei crippled. not sure what it is.
Has anyone figured out how to use usb-otg on this phone yet?
No.

And what will that do? I bet it's not going to make OTG work on this or any other phones that don't support OTG.

OTG adapters?

I have watched a few unboxings on Youtube. I see that the S8 and S8+ come with two USB-C adapters, one from micro USB and the other from full USB. None of them have mentioned whether they are OTG compatible. Does anyone know whether either or both support OTG?

The one include with the S7 (micro USB to USB) was OTG capable. Most likely this one is also. Sorry I can't confirm yet.
Logically, is there much other use for a usb-c to female usb-a other than device to device power transfer and otg?

in the unboxing i've seen, there at 2 include connectors: a micro usb to usb-c and a fullsize usb-a to usb-c. the picture on page 12 refers to using the included cable and the small adapter to charge the phone (seems odd....). On page 18 there's a diagram showing the other one in use for for device to device data transfer in conjunction with the other phone's usb cable
The micro-usb to usb-c is obviously not USB OTG compatible.
The larger usb-c to usb-a is OTG compatible (and used for smartswitch as well).
what above says. the message is specific to the Micro USB connector and not any other OTG cables.
Check this thread, all of them should work:

I plugged USB stick into all my other Samsung phones and it always work, not sure why it wouldn't work on S8, with one exception: phone doesn't recognize NTFS out of the box, but you can download driver and then it works with NTFS as well. But to be honest Android file access is a nightmare IMO, so much simpler to plug the phone into computer and do whatever from Windows, but again be careful, if you move files around, they're not updating right away and you may get confused as to where the files are.

The Galaxy S8/S8+ already come with two adapters:
Pair of AKG ear-buds with 2 additional silicon pads (L and M size)
Samsung 'Adaptive Fast Charging' wall charger (9V at 1.67A, or 5V at 2A)
USB-C to USB-A cable
microUSB to USB-C adapter
USB-A to USB-C adapter
SIM ejector tool
User manuals

[*]USB-A to USB-C adapter - OTG support
I am looking for microUSB to USB-C adapter with OTG support.

Check that the USB settings are not on "Charge" mode, but data transfer or MTP or power supply.
