MM Beta OTA PLK-L01C432B313 update.zip - Honor 7 General

Complete re-write, as this post evolved as the day went on..
thanks go to @michaelkamrad on a german android site for posting it first (you should've done it here too ). i had uploaded it to dropbox but my account was suspended for excessive traffic
@DigiGoon came to the rescue, he has more links and info in post twenty - it's really his thread now
or use the link provided by @walter4991 in the second post or @bamserl in post nine (and thank them!)
if you have never rooted it should be fine.. drop the update.zip into a directory on your sdcard called "dload" and perform a local update.
Things to look out for:
it will not perform the update on a modified system
TWRP will no longer function until someone builds a new version - that also means no SU
There was no way back to LP until 16th Dec, Huawei created an intermediate "rollback" see this post and my tale of "brick-tory" is here
i had a rooted and modified system (various file tweaks, modified hosts, etc). i had to completely wipe and downgrade to B121 FULL - then the update.zip worked fine :silly:
However I am back on LP for now Thanks to everyone on this thread for the extra links and info

It's necessary unroot phone before update? You'll be update from b140? After it's possible to root again?

This is the update from B121: https://mega.nz/#!nkE0CAxS!rqCqJgCQ6_5XZlbVXsQ6iswZ00ConxRD18JlrcC3eQc

Transparency for top bar integrated with each app now.
Fingerprint reader working just as good
New Multitasking selection
New power options, and new location to get there.
New dual sim options I think.
Seems snappier
Couple of apps not loaded for me, could be a android 6 thing tho
Sent from my PLK-L01 using Tapatalk

Scrolling is much smoother
You can disable power mansgment notifications
Settings is more organized and clean

it's safe to update even if not registrated in official forms? I mean they distribute ota using specific IMEI from users who registrate, is this something that could affect in any way the update or future updates?

I believe it's an update for B140, I'm still resetting my modified system so haven't tested it yet! Will update shortly...
EDIT 1: sorry, having a real hard time with this as my system is modified. going to have to completely wipe and start from scratch
EDIT 2: dropbox suspended due to excessive traffic. use the link provided by @walter4991 in the second post or @bamserl in post nine (and thank them )

Did you copy the zip from /cache - and check it out?
A patch file (eg: market.p)? Or the full apk? Does it touch anything else? What build is listed in Settings > About ?
Just unrooted - reverted to pure stock - updated to 55D - rerooted - rebuilt my framework - yadda yadda - on Sunday. Hope I don't need to go through all that again..
how do copy it and view the files? it's downloaded, i just haven't installed it
i haven't rooted yet so i don't have all the options of root file explorer at the momment.
Just got this as well, not sure what it changed.

Install a File Manager if you dont already have one and check /cache.
Since you aren't rooted you may not be able to see it. Check anyway. If you can, use the file manager to copy it to your sdcard and please upload it for us.

That's what we'd like to know. If you're rooted, copy the .zip file from /cache to a handy location or your PC and explore inside the zip.
The update is first downloaded to /cache. A long name with HTK75D somewhere and ending in .zip.
Is there a /patch folder in the zip? All the files in that branch are patched by the updater. The files must be the latest stock version to get patched.
Is there a /system and/or /recovery folder in the zip? All the files in those branches get copied - and older ones on the Xoom are overwritten.
Drill down the /META-INF branch all the way. You'll find "updater-script". This is the command file which guides the whole update process - and tells us everything it is doing.
If there is a bootloader.bin file in the zip's root - we'll be flashed a new bootloader - which could break custom kernels and usually generates some apprehension (guilty until proven innocent).

I've never checked, but for those who aren't rooted, the filename might be logged. Could anyone who recently downloaded the update (but hasn't installed/rebooted yet) check LogCat to see if the filename is there? It should look something like this:
############.signed-tervigon-HTK75D-from-HTK55D.########
(pound signs represent hexadecimal digits)
If it's there, then this might help others manually download the update from the OTA site:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/motorola_tervigon/<update package filename>
(I think )
Thanks!

S'all right. 55s a benign update - we're still not sure what it fixed (or broke). If you are still stock - though rooted - use Stachre's update method in the dev section. Then you'll be ready for 75.
yeah 55 was the update from a week ago, google is dropping another one on us.

Lollipop Bugs !

Note- This thread is solely for Lp bugs, pls dont post questions about how to install the update and all. thanku.
So as every1 here enjoying the taste of lollipop...for which we waiting for such a long time, has some missing features...we can say bugs..
1) No sdcard support.
I just installed the Astro file manager, and on the first boot it showed me sdcard compatibility error, the same as we had in kitkat.
2)No multi user feature.
Even this feature is missing in this build of lollipop.
3) open recent apps menu > clear all > again launch recent apps menu > u ll find a random card of app
also u will find an error of "couldnt load widget" at top. look at the screenies
4) u tell me, i ll add here...
EDIT- If u got a problem and u found out the solution ...pls let u know here, i ll add it to the op so that any1 could find the solution easily
I dont understand y motorola hasn't included these feature in our lollipop build , Mayb its just a soak test so ? lets hope motorola clears these bugs soon and give us whole lp taste, or else we can wait of cm12..
thanks!
No silent mode option. We have to reduce media volume to 0 to activate silent mode. I am thinking of rolling back to 4.4.4. This lollipop update is crap. ART runtime takes $hit load of space and fugly eye candy material design crap exists everywhere. Moto E does'nt have decent hardware for Lollipop.
Only thing which is good is that the animations and all the apps seem to be running smoother.
1.Not a bug
2.Not a bug
3.Standard lollipop bug(on my nexus 5 too)
4.Haven't find any, soak test is solid for full release..
Is the moto g 2 also cant use game data from sd card?

Yes, it was put on the Huawei server within the last 24 hours.
It's the same as the Russian C10B156 update.
It's still not possible to install, but will be soon.

Yes, but it's not on Huawei's servers yet, and online update/OTA update is not out. Maybe this week. Strangely, the European is yet to be seen, even though European was first for other updates.
Maybe they are hiding the updates on different servers?
Seems they are going to change updates so c636 be the first like they use to be on mate8.

It can't be installed with firmware finder unless Huawei approved the update for your device. You can install it with tools which cost money, or wait and see if Huawei will make it available to your device.

Yes, just insert what the app says and it works. The only thing is that when you update with this method it seems the version number on the systems doesn't change ( but the rest does ).

Updated OP apps from apkmirror

There are updated versions of OP launcher, camera, gallery, contacts, phone etc on https://www.apkmirror.com/uploads/?q=oneplus-ltd
Is it recommended that we update our OP phones (6T in my case) by manually downloading these updated versions from apkmirror and installing them to our phones? Or should we wait for the software updates that OP releases via OTA from time to time?
What do folks here do?

The original phone app is installed as a system app. If you just installed the "update" as you would any other app, it would not overwrite the original system app. Go into Settings>App & Notifications>Phone. Tap the Disable button. It will prompt you to uninstall updates. Do that and it will roll you back to the system installed version. Then just enable it again.

So, these updates maybe meant for McLaren only, since McLaren's OS version number is different
It's not like that. The updates available on apkmirror are for all OP phones, only thing you have to check is what version of Android they are for. And that is mentioned in the description of each particular APK.
If your phone is on Android 8 then obviously an APK meant for Android 9 will not install on it.
And if after install you find that the particular app is not working or force closing, than use 'uninstall updates' in settings. The app will be restored to factory version.
OP should actually make these updates available through Google Play Store. Then this issue of incompatibility will not arise. Bcoz updates meant for a different version of Android than the one on our phones won't install on the first place.

I have an OP6 with Oxygen 9.09. Don't want to go to Android 10. On Apkmirror there is a file "OnePlus System Update 2.1.2.191121180024.0e716e1" from 28th of february 2020, for Android 7+. What is that ? Is it a security update ? Should I install it on my OP6 ?

Uh no. That is the System Updater. Installing that won't give you the Security Update. You can only get those by Updating to Android 10. Also, even if you try to Install it, it will most probably fail

its a edit of janjanś rom the lte EU version.
to make it working just format the watch system/data.. and u will need to restore the included vendor "firmware" from the twrp backup
anyways i did mention in the post its for EU .. im sure you can unbrick it with fastboot the backup does not include any bootloader changes

Hello, I managed to get the rom on watch, now its working! But how can I enable google pay on it? When I set up my card, phone says "This phone can't be used to pay in stores. This may be because it is rooted or altered in some other way." Thank you!

Getting further by dowloading a superuser and installing it as a zip via twrp, but exacly when in the process i should use the commands so the watch wont update?
adb shell , su
pm disable com.google.android.gms/.update.SystemUpdateService && su -c pm disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService
and browse to the /data/ota_pakages and delete the update.zip
