Manual Camera Controls(No Root) - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Do any one know method of having manual camera controls like manual focus, etc like on S6 without rooting the device.

So far, almost no devices have manual camera controls save for the Nexus 6 and, apparently the Galaxy S6. Not until the Samsung developers update the camera api will we get those features.

Camera FV-5 and Manual Camera both have support for manual camera controls, but they don't work unless the device already has the Camera2 api implemented. We're out of luck until Samsung decides to throw us a bone, so to speak.

Yeah I really want to try this feature.. Hopefully they will bring something out soon

Request: LG Quick Remote for AOSP

I have a request. Are there any devs out there that can get the LG quick remote app working on AOSP roms? I have found a zip, but it doesnt seem to work in AOSP. I would love if i could have the remote working on CM 10.2!!
This is going to be issue and same reason why there are no 3rd party remote apps, like the g2 camera you will need a lot lg framework to make it work. This is the reason I'm not flashing any more roms. Asop cameras suck you loose alot of g2 features. After years of abuse by asop style roms I'm happy with what lg has given us.

yeah so i've heard. i emailed the DEV of the remote app for the gs4 and htc one. hoping we can get some support. waht features are we missing from LG's camera software?
Some one already emailed that dev and asked if they were going to put out there app for the G2. His response was that the remote stuff was built into lg unlike the hTc and Samsung phones. Camera you'll lose everything that is in the lg camera.

right this is what he said:
"Hi
Unfortunately the LG has their communication with the infrared sensor private and we would have to go through their app and use their database which is something that would introduce many other problems , not to mention that the app would be half ours and not having control over the database would mean not having control over what users need .
If their policy will change we will definitely take this device into consideration .
Thank you for your interest in our app!

This is inaccurate. The LG Q Remote has been used on CM and other AOSP-based ROMS on other devices. The following link is for a download for the Q Remote for the Optimus G Pro that works on AOSP-based roms. I've tried it on the G2 and unfortunately it doesn't work... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458277&page=2

correct. i have as well. I am hoping that someone will be able to fix this to work on CM for us!
tried porting the QRemote today... no success so far.
seems like LGQRemote.apk does only contain resources, but no code (unlike the QRemote from Optimus G)
maybe someone else has more knowledge of porting, we really need to get this working

Maybe the answer then is to port the exact remote from the Optimus G Pro (from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458277) to the G2?
looks like 4.4 is going to treat the lg g2 nicely. IR support is native to 4.4 now!!
IR Blasters
Android 4.4 introduces platform support for built-in IR blasters, along with a new API and system service that let you create apps to take advantage them.
Using the new API, you can build apps that let users remotely control nearby TVs, tuners, switches, and other electronic devices. The API lets your app check whether the phone or tablet has an infrared emitter, query it's carrier frequencies, and then send infrared signals.
Because the API is standard across Android devices running Android 4.4 or higher, your app can support the broadest possible range of vendors without writing custom integration code.

Hopefully macro's (like on a harmony remote) could be programmed in with the new API, any know?

hopefully the nexus 5 has the same IR hardware, so it would be no problem to port or something...

i'm sure, you just have to build apps for it
btw i think i don't waste my time trying to port the qremote, let's see if kitkat works fine with the g2 IR out of the box

Sorry for a huge bump. But I want to know what has happened with the new KitKat-update. Did it bring some new functionality to IR on G2?
I like Quick Remote but I would love to have a one-button macro to start everything?!
Is there any apps out there that support the LG G2 where you can put an icon on the desktop to start a macro?
Something with Tasker support would be great. To start Airplay, my receiver and spotify at the same time!
Thank you!

[Q] Possible to port HTC M8 Camera App to Xperia Z2?

I need an app like Lumia Camera on Android and HTC has did it, they have an awesome app for taking photo.
Buy an M8 and enjoy all of it's 4mp glory.
Its posible but check if its already been ported to all devies or cm11 or aosp,
Xperia firmware is simular to aosp and cm so it may work if its ported to both

The lite version really do this, but the paid version retains the full image resolution. This is weird because I've used the app and do not had any problem.... But I do prefer the stock camera app...

Stabilizer on custom ROMS ?

Hi
I've noticed that on custom roms like CM, there's no camera stabilization
I can get it only thanks to Cinema-FV, but I don't want this app
How can I enable it ? Build.prop tweaks ?
Thanks in advance
devs don't have access to the source code for Samsung's camera drivers so the full extent of it's capabilities can never be harnessed on custom roms not based on touchwiz.
if you want a great camera you'll probably need to dual boot with a small debloated tw rom...

Thanks for answering !
I know that Samsung doesn't share his camera driver, but, other apps like Camera FV-5 can make a kind of software-stabilization
How ? Any chance to get that stabilizer by decompiling camera's apk ?

RAW Capture on MXPE?

Hi all,
I'm really into photography and I like to use my phone to take some really nice pictures. This phone has really helped me get some great shots. However, I wanted to be able to capture in RAW format. Is there any way to do that on this phone? Thanks!
no, there is no camera2 api support and probably it will never happen.

s9 rom port

I assume all of you know the galaxy s9 is released, and it has brought some cool features. I'm asking myself, would it be possible to port the s9 rom to s8? It would bring some nice features, like slow mo background, ar emoji(i think), intelligent scan(i think) , enhanced camera app and a lot more. Please give your opinion of that and if it would be possible to have those features on our still fantastic device! Anyone who think he can do this??

are there so much hardware differences? other than the back camera and the normal stuff, there aren't many things changed. Intelligent scan must be portable. maybe samsung will release it for s8 with android p, who knows?? I'm just thinking, would treble give some problems, since s9 has ot and s8 doesn't?

it does? i didn't hear anything about that?
So far, as I know, the features S9 has is related to hardware (like, aperture changes for camera) and also sensor that makes samsung-style animoji available. So, fingers crossed.
Besides it, I think everything already got covered up on S8 & S8+.
