BT not auto connecting to audio devices - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Turbo 2 doesn't auto connect to the two BT audio devices I have (car stereo and motorola buds). It auto-connects to my Pebble fine, but I have to manually connect to the buds and the stereo each time I use them.
I can't seem to find a setting for making them autoconnect, but I could be missing something. Any tricks to get it to auto connect like my old Moto X would?

That happened to me with this phone and my car stereo. What I did to fix it (by accident) was wait until my car stereo was attempting to connect to the bluetooth and then turn the bluetooth on my phone off and then right back on. It connected right away and auto connects whenever I use my car stereo. Give it a shot.

I do know if u don't set as a trusted device it won't auto connect on mine.

I didn't expect that to work, but it did.
:good:

Noticed with Sync (Ford) it sometimes pauses and I have to turn BT off then on.
UPDATE: Turn off all the moto assist stuff, no more problems.

Bluetooth problem!

Hi, I was able to pair my x1 to my pioneer headunit in my car and get the a2dp to work, but say when I leave the car and it d/c as it should, it does not automatically reconnect when i start the car again like it should, I have to manually go into the settings and set wireless stereo again. Anybody know a solution to this? I am used to my old phone just automatically connecting everytime I start the car. Phone is visible also.
Hi, can I ask how you get your pioneer unit to work with X1? I've tried pairing my Pioneer unit to my X1 and it doesn't connect. Btw, I want to use my unit for handsfree calling. Thanks.

Search this forum for A2DPtoggle and you will find a program to easily connect A2DP bluetooth stereo.

[Q] Bluetooth automatic connect

I am having a problem with my car's handsfree and automatic reconnection to my Nexus 4.
My car is paired (and when it is paired I select "Don't ask again" about access to the Address book). However when I return to the car, bluetooth on the phone does not automatically reconnect to the bluetooth handsfree in the car like it did with my previous two phones (SGS2 and SGS3).
I can go into bluetooth settings, and click on the handsfree device and it connects right away and works fine, but I really don't want to do that every time I get in my car.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you.
bump-- anyone?

Bluetooth to car stereo, no auto connect

I had the Note 3 and it interfaced very well with my 2013 Subaru Impreza stereo. The Note 4, however, will initially connect but after turning the stereo off, then back on, it will not auto reconnect. The same behavior happens when the car is turned off and on.
I must tap the stereo in the BT app to get it to reconnect and sometimes I have to turn on the phone "visibility" to get the connection to happen.
So, that means no BT phone unless I'm already listening to a BT source.
I think it is related to the newer BT stack and its low power modes.
Anyone else seen this BT behavior?
Yes, I am seeing similar behavior. My Bluetooth tends to disconnect at times, seemingly at random as well.
Also very frustrating is the fact that I can not just enter my car and have the Bluetooth auto connect. I have to open the bluetooth page and select my car from the list of devices manually. This seems primative. If there is a way to change this can someone please post it?
I've started using Tasker and it has saved my bacon. Works like a charm. I've even used it to automate turning on Slacker when I get in the car.... So, a work around...
I have no problem whatsoever while connecting to my Dodge Charger 2014 ..every time i get in the car the Note 4 auto connects... i have the viisbility timeout set to Never..

Bluetooth connecting but not really

I have a N6P, rooted 6.0.1 with Xposed. I use MacroDroid to automate some processes. E.g. I have a macro that enables bluetooth whenever I leave the house and my phone disconnects from the home wifi network. In my car I use a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth voice kit. I want my phone to automatically connect to the kit whenever bluetooth on my phone is enabled and I start my engine (and the Parrot becomes powered). Whenever I switch on bluetooth manually and it is on for some time and I get into my car and start the engine, my phone connects to the Parrot without any problems.
I also have a macro which actions are that a sound is played and it vibrates whenever the phone connects to my Parrot. But whenever I leave my house, I can see that my bluetooth is enabled but when I get into my car and start the engine, I can hear the sound and feel the vibration of the MacroDroid macro, but the screen of the Parrot still shows the Parrot logo and not the name of my phone. So MacroDroid confirms that a connection has taken place (otherwise there wouldn't be any sound and vibration), but in fact the phone and Parrot are not connected. Going then into BT settings and trying to connect manually works in 50% of the cases.
I have also tried AutomateIT to get this working, but with the same outcome. And the app Bluetooth Auto Connect (to force the connection) didn't bring any luck either.
Because when enabling BT manually before I leave the house the connection succeeds and when using the macro it does not (neither in MacroDroid not in AutomateIT), I suspect that it may have something to do with the (short) time between the enabling of BT and the powering on of the Parrot, but I'm not sure.
Anyone any ideas?

Bluetooth and Huawei Smart Watch

Hi all,
I got a Huawei Smart Watch a few weeks ago.
For some reason when it's connected to the Nexus 6P with Bluetooth Audio switched on in the Watch, it won't connect to the Car's Bluetooth when the car is switched on.
Is anyone having this same issue? is there anyway of fixing it apart from turning off the Bluetooth Audio function on the watch?
Surely the phone could priorities the Car's Bluetooth. I don't seem to see this issue with either other watches or phones.
Im not sure if the device has a way to set priority of BT items but IIRC, you can only connect one type of BT device at a time. I have a Samsung gear Live watch which runs android wear. it stays connected all of the time and I can still connect to my truck BT radio. But you cannot connect headphones and a speaker to BT at the same time. just dont work that way.
