You should, just install another dialer and make it default.

Replace the stock android dialer with the original android dialer. The SIP settings have been removed from the dialer.

Isn't SIP setting for VoIP calling?

I'm wondering this as well since the DT2 dialer does not have call blocking.
Does anyone recommend a dialer?

No, SIP is for WiFi calling when connected to the SIP network

Possible solutions:
1. Buy a pouch
2. Put your phone facing outwards (not recommended)
3. Put your phone upwards (that way you'll accept the calls)
4. Use a dialer that has sideways swipe for accepting/rejecting calls.

You should instal Lockscreen from Sense3.0

That would require him to be rooted and have CWM installed. He is not rooted.
To the OP, Just go to the market and search for dialers. They are phone applications and each should have a different type of lockscreen interface.

Changing default dialer

This may not be specific to the S4 but is there a way to change the default dialer to Go Dialer. I don't care much for the default dialer's aesthetics and would like to use something more customizable. I haven't had any luck. The only options I get after clearing the defaults for the stock phone and contacts app is Phone and my Sophos.
Go.

Im guessing your talking about Go Contacts EX while on your dial pad hit your menu key themes and you can download some I like the Iceblue Theme.
Im referring to changing the default dialer from stock to go contact/dialer. Even when intiating a call from go contacts the stock dialer and sophos are the only options I get to select from after defaults are cleared from the stock phone and contact apps

I'd like to know how to do this too, trying to use Dialer One as the default dialer, but I see no way to modify this.
I have the same problem. Just got Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Dialer I am using to setup - Rocket Dial Pro version.
But there are only are only Phone and Skype apps in "Complete action using" dialog box.
Tried to reinstall Rocket Dial, add/remove from device administrators. I must admit, phone IS NOT rooted!
I will try to contact Rocket Dial developer, as I am using commercial version.
Likewise Motorola XT910

Similar RocketDial problem with Motorola XT910 (except different "complete action using" options).
Any useful response from developer? Thanks.

Google Dialer problem with pop up default dialer

After having selected the Google dialer as my default, I continuously am asked the question which dialer do you want to use it as your default dialer when I highlight a number and then ask to dial it. Is it me or are others having this problem as well? I'm running Android 4.4.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running Android 4.4 and Nova launcher. I've tried setting as default different dialers but when I click a missed calls notification I get the pop up asking for which dialer to use. I think I'm not getting the same as you when highlighting a number and calling, it straigh away shows the in-call screen.

has anyone ever figured out a way around this? the only thing i could think of was to modify the stock dialer.apk to remove the recent calls default intent, but i haven't been able to figure out a way to do that...i haven't been able to get services.jar decompiled to take the signature check out.

Google dialer with OOS?

Has anyone managed to get Google dialer working in their OP5? I've installed TWRP and tried following the guide to install it on the OP3, but with no luck. It says installation successful when I install the framework in TWRP, but the APK installation fails and says my device isn't compatible.
I'm thinking I may have to delete some system apps to make room, I e deleted the Easter egg and some wallpaper. Still no joy.
Google Dialer + Caller ID on OP5
Hi Guys, I would also really appreciate to have the Google Dialer on my OP5 because of the enhanced Caller ID feature. Is anyone able to port it?
Kind regards
There's a v7.0 of the Google Phone 7.0 APK here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...61421-nonnexus-android-apk-download/download/
I installed it and it works.

If you want full functionality, like spam blocking and reporting, and an up to date app, you need to have TWRP and flash this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3907762&d=1476815806 (Google Dialer Framework Support)
and then use APK mirror to download and install the newest official Google Phone APK.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-phone/
Then freeze the default Dialer app, and set the Google one as default.
Been using it since I got the phone.

If you mean this like in my screenshot, I would say its normal?! Or am I wrong?
Yes this was the color... But I have solved it and switched to blue. BTW, Oxygen OS has removed the feature to choose color to each sim card, so I have done it by using Nova launcher features. Found a solution in XDA... If I will find it I will copy and paste the relevant thread here

You can change color by changing color of the SIM card but OOS has removed this feature -_-
OOS has removed this feature but you can also do it
here you are:

Yep i just find another guide, instead of Nova Launcher you can install an "Activity launcher" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher and launch com.qualcomm.qti.simsettings.SimSettingsActivity
Just tried it, it works!

They said both of these options work if you install the Magisk version of the Google dialer. It can found posted earlier in this thread.
I did not test them though.
Can someone help me out? I installed Google Dialer v7 form apkmirror and everything works great except I can't answer or decline a phone call from notification. I press answer and nothing happens. I have to go to full call screen and swipe up. Anyone else has this issue? I have phone app set as default and permission to modify settings. I am not rooted. If anyone figured this out I appreciate a response. Thanks.

Yes you have this bug only in notifications mode, not in the full screen phone call. For that, just double tap at the top of the "Answer / Hang Up" buttons (Caller name/picture) and app switch in full mode and you can accept or reject your call

How to change the call screen?

Sorry in advance if this was something easily found by googling, but all I get is "note 9 (useless) tips and tricks".
To the point. No matter what phone app I set as default, I still get the default call screen. Is there some way I can change it? I would really like to have the google phone call screen or truecaller's.
Up
No solution for this?

Still the default call screen. I even disabled the default phone app, but then I had no call screen at all )
Works on my end. Installed modded g dialer... Settings/apps/default apps/set default calling app......pops up google dialer instead of sammy (personally I prefer it, but just tested for you cause I was intrigued)

I don't know why, but this time, when I changed the default dialer, it worked on changing the call screen as well.
Help changing in call screen to a photo if possible
Is there a app that can do this or can someone design something that can
did you try the permission settings with the phone app you want, i.e., always allow etc?
Need a way to change in-call screen
Someone needs to create a way to do this on the note 9.
