Languages question on Moto X Force - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Could anybody who has the Moto X Force tell me if Catalan is available on the system language options?
I ask this because Catalan is usually available in any android phone since Android 4.0 but I've heard some Motorola phones like the Moto G dont have it, so I want to know since I'm quite convinced that I'm going to get this awesome beast.

Mine MXF don't have this lang.

I think it depends where you buy it.
I bought mine with EU version, so I assume there are only EU languages available.

That has nothing to do with EU official languages , I have the EU version of the Nexus 5 and catalan is available
And also, what the **** man? Even if we are part of spain we have many things in catalan

Htc announced 2.1 update in march!!!

Dear patient Hero users,
Finally HTC officially announced a release date, well not a date but a indication
On the renowned dutch website Tweakers.net an article is posted, which says HTC gives Hero an update in march!
Tweakers.net is a very up-to-date website with updates about elctronics, games and mobile phones every day.
So I can safely say this is legitimate information.
Tweakers.net:
http://tweakers.net/nieuws/65478/htc-geeft-hero-medio-maart-update-naar-android-21.html
Engadget:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/09/htc-hero-update-to-android-2-1-pegged-for-mid-march/
Maybe some of you guys can use google translate.
If it's quiet in the bar I work this afternoon I'll try to translate some parts.
It's still waiting a while, but finally we have a indication of when we can expect the update!
Regards,
DaanJordaan
P.S. In addition to all of this, you can find a translation of the original press message in post #7
nothing new...
I don't no about that, both articles were posted yesterday I believe

Do you have any link to an official press announcement by HTC? AFAIK this was again released by "some source" who claims they have information from HTC in Belgium (or Luxemburg... or another Benelux state ).
This is not more official than the previous one from HTC Poland, which said it's coming on Feb 15th. There probably is (in both cases) some guy in the support team who didn't want to tell people to wait, but made up some estimate. However those guys in support don't know much more than we do. Maybe one week before the release they get a heads up, but not now.
First announced for january.. Then poland htc site said "february", then dutch htc site said "march", then blablabl...
It will be out when it's done that's it. There is no serious announcement.
Well yeah that's true but both tweakers and engadget are pretty renowned websites, no?
Quote from engadget:
"PR released today indicates that we can expect the Hero to get an Android 2.1 update with Sense in "mid March" according to HTC's Benelux team"
Sounds to me like a pretty solid source

Here's the link:
http://www.whizpr.nl/persberichten/6679
And here's the part that matters:
"Met deze Android 2.1-update voor onze Hero-toestellen bewijzen we opnieuw ons leiderschap en toewijding aan het Android-platform", zegt Mark Moons, Regional Director HTC Benelux. "De HTC Hero heeft zich de afgelopen periode bewezen als best verkochte Android-toestel. Door de Android 2.1-update als eerste voor dit toestel beschikbaar te stellen, belonen we gebruikers met innovatieve functionaliteit waarmee ze nog meer uit hun Android-device kunnen halen."
I'll translate it for you:
"With this Android 2.1-update for our Hero-handsets we again prove our leadership and devotion to the Android platform", says Mark Moons, Regional Director HTC Benelux. "The HTC Hero has proved itself as best selling Android-handset. By making this Android 2.1-update available, we award users with innovative functionality, with which they can get even more out of there Android-device."
Hope I gained some confidence But to be fair I'm still a bit sceptical too

Official updates don't ever need root, they probably remove your root acces since the whole rom is changed from the old one.
The video is from a custom rom, at least that's how I see it, a guys hero with a different bootscreen from the hero.
I do believe it's comming in march.

yeah all leaks from new devices like HTC Bravo also show the classic sense UI. so it seems like the htc espresso UI was not meant for other devices. LUCKILY! The bubbles looked like a cheap china imitation of the iphone UI.

You don't know this for sure since the final htc sense version isn't released yet?
As said before it's a custom rom showed on that video, I found a reference to lox and belhaams (???) on another website.
Still i'd hate the bubble, so I would be pleased if they left it out after all

well we can only hope. i also don't believe that we will get the update mid-march. First rumours claimed that the update will arrive on christmas 2009...so...
And the video flying around is really not a good thing. i mean the video has like 8:42 minutes length. And like 7 minutes are boot time....i surely hope that this is some kind of cutom rom...

I do believe it's comming mid march, I read the article and it says that htc as a company released this news. Not some employee of htc poland who wanted some attention
I dunno, I haven't seen a single rom which had handwriting recognition (especially made for sense ui) in the call app. Or the icons in the menu.
Granted, I don't really try all the roms here.
It might be a leak ot something, but it doesn't seem like a rom I have seen yet.
It's not official, until it's from HTC website don't beleive what you read. Your all gettin sucked into the online hype
All the rumours where just a marketing stunt to keep selling Hero's under fals promises.
Soon HTC will apologise for not bringing out any update at all.

Froyo release in Spain... one month more... WTF

Here in Spain, Samsung Mobile via twitter has made a statement about the Froyo release.
Here you have it:
"Samsung Mobile España: Muchos nos estáis preguntando acerca de la fecha de publicación de la actualización de Froyo para Galaxy S.
Finalmente será a finales del mes de Octubre a través de Samsung Kies"
Which means:
"Samsung Mobile Spain: A lot of you are asking about the release date of the Froyo update for the Galaxy S.
It finally will be released towards the end of October through Samsung Kies"

Oh God! Not one month more. If we have to wait until the end of October, I'm gonna be really pissed. That wouldn't be so cool. Because SamFirmwares (I think that's their name on Twitter) made a tweet saying that it'll come out by the 23. September... But is the end of oct. really the asia date, too? Because if it'd be like that, we definitely have to wait 'till then. Samsung, after all, are located in south korea...
Sorry for my (pretty) bad English xD

totally agree.
Well.. don't be mad for now
Maybe this date is only here in Spain (maybe they won't release here until there is a branded firmware for Movistar -has the exclusive, but it's also sold in free version...)
It's the HTC Hero story all over again.
@DomiKamp, on the JPH thread some asian user got a feedback from someone @SamsungHK saying Froyo will be released in october for this region. That said, maybe Samsung read feedbacks about last froyo leak, and decided to go for some debugging..
edit: this is what I hope...
Cannot agree more... I was hoping for the delay since JPH isn't as good as Froyo and GS should be.
From the 3 blog
Moderator on September 21, 2010 @Bob X – Sorry for the delay in coming back to you. I think it’s safe to say you should be getting the update at the end of October/ beginning of November. There’s always a period after general release for our testing and approval and various other delays but we hope there aren’t too many hitches. Yes a forum would be nice We’re looking into better ways of managing the comments
Better wait a bit more for a good firmware than get an update to froyo now with this iper bugged firmware. I hope they will make a realy good firmware with one month more otherwise never more samsung! it will be my first and last time!
IIRC, Samsung Singapore also said October for Froyo, but that some regions (Europe) would be getting it earlier in September. It could be that that is still the case, but only certain areas of Europe will be getting it in that timeframe.
Either way, another reason why Samsung need to be more vocal to their customers about future product support, least they can do is ensure we are all kept in the loop!

WTF? I want a proper fw too but that doesn't mean i'm happy for the delay.
Oct then Nov then Dec.....2011....2012...I thought they would have got their act together by now.......so I thought.
Samsung has too much hardware to focus on.. the just released Tab, and variety of Galaxy family members.. why can't they just release one phone and one tablet and focus on their software developments?

What work does it exactly require to release the "italian" version? I mean, imagine that you have the code for LPS, which "is" Polish, but just as well Italian, what changes do you have to do to it?

IMO we will have a better version...in few time we saw LPQ, LP7, LP2, LP3, LPS and everytime something is better than previous version..so i think for half of may we should have a better version than the lastest one released yesterday

So you think that the italian development team decided that it'd require 2 months of work to fix the issues of say the very first official release (LPQ)?
Even if this was the case, it's not like the poland team will go on vacation now, they will keep polishing their own version too, so when the italian version will come out, it should definitely be better than the 2 months older lpq version, but will it be better than the then released poland one?
Well, from a certain point of view I prefer that they don't release it immediately.
It's better to have a fully working and bugless version, even if we have to wait a little more, than to have a buggy and laggy version!
In any case I use Odin, and I don't care if here in Italy we won't have ICS till May, cause I can install any rom that I want

Bootloader unlock only for US version of ZTE Axon 7

It's official
https://community.zteusa.com/community/blogging/blog/2016/08/10/did-somebody-say-bootloader
But it looks like only for US Axon 7, not the EU version:
"the U.S. versions of the Axon Pro and the Axon 7 will have their bootloader unlocked upon request here on Z-Community!"
I try to speak with EU support but they don't answer, also not on Twitter.
After I read how big bugs the Axon 7 got, I will 100% not order one with looked bootloader...

I think those forums are only for the USA version. I also read somewhere that the US version has all the bands that the EU version has except 28 I think, so it might be better to get the US version. Do they also not have EU forums? It seems as though ZTE is focusing only on the US which is a little bit annoying.

mrbigscreen Here is all I know. We have no control over ZTE in the EU. They are a separate division from us. I know that we have contacted them to try to get some information to help EU users out here. They are in control of your builds and updates and when you will receive them. As soon as we hear any information from them it will be posted to this community. I wish I had better news for you.

If you need a phone immediately and you don't want to save money, the Nexus 6P
If you dont need a phone immediately, wait for the new Nexus and either get that (a statistical marginal improvement over the current Nexus) or get the Nexus 6P which should have a sizeable drop

IIRC, the EU has laws in place that would require ZTE to honor the Passport 2.0 warranty even if they provided a bootloader unlock. The US has no such laws in place; this means that ZTE can get out of supporting unlocked phones in the US, but not in the EU. If they hold firm on the warranty going away upon unlock, the EU will likely never receive a bootloader unlock.

In HTCMania there are already several cases 5xx and 6xx repaired with plates have returned to bootloop ..... It is not clear that the plates 6xx are definitely good.
6xx plates are a way to buy time while supplies guarantee when they should give a new model without the motherboard problem.
