[Q] [Request]Unlocking Motrola Defy (MB525)

Hello everybody
i'm a new user in this forum ,but i usually follow your new threads (about my phone).
after getting my Motorola defy (mb525) ,i was unable to unlock it but thanks to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483297) ,i unlocked it successfully and i'm enjoying it BUT!!!
in that thread i read that it works only with this base-band version "EPU93_U_00.59.01",so i say no problem with that i need only to receive calls and sms from my partners
but after getting deeper in application and android's system ,i found that i need to upgrade my device to a higher android system ... In my first steps i was unable to unlock my device due to the higher system android that shows me a different version of base-band that is not compatible with the guide below,so i downgraded my device to android 2.3...my question is:
is there any trick that gives me the possibility to ''save'' my unlocking files or file?! and upgrade my device to another android's version without doing the same job!!!!,is this device can be only unlocked if it has the old system of android ??...
i'm waiting for your answers ,Thank you for your support

It is a topic about this problem. Read it. On the short: you must change the baseband even if you use KiteKat (CM11) ROMs.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483297&page=52
AFTER you flash the baseband changer. I use it and it work with PA beta2.
thank you pgreed
i wll give that a try ,can you give me what should i do in steps (1 2 3...) ,don't give me details just to begin .
because i tried to flash this zip calles from recovery (base-band switcher ) in different ROMs and i couldn't!!!

Thank you

As a new kindle user ( we bought our son an hdx for Christmas ) we were disappointed to find the locked App Store and no access to google play - which we had just assumed the kindle would have.
Following a lot of advice on here I have finally managed to get the kindle software down graded from 4.5.2 ( ironicAlly it upgraded on Christmas day morning !) to 13.3.2.8
Subsequently I have managed to root the device and install the Google play store which is finally working well.
So thank you to all of the contributors to this forum for your guides and advice I finally have the kindle we were expecting and I have to say it really is pretty good now.
One thing I was told when I downgraded was that I would be unable to upgrade in the future - can anyone confirm if there is a way to upgrade to later software from a device that has been downgraded ? I assumed they said it because ota wouldn't work anymore ... It may be nice to upgrade if 4.5.2 gets rooted in the future
Thanks again for everyone's help.
You can still Update your HDX by manuelly downloading the Updates from the Amazon.com Website.
Great - I thought there would be a way .
Thanks for the info.
Hi, could you please link to the explanation on how to do so.. Or explain it please.. Funny thing as i ran into this forum with the exact same issue, Christmas kindle with no google play access.. Thank you in advance

"One Click Root for android"

Hello everyone, yesterday i'm was with my 5.0.2 stock firmware with root and finally got some balls to update it with the "pre-root" method and everything's work's so bad, after install recovery, and did all the wipe's, I went to install the pre-root zip, and comes, crash after crash, finally, I use my PC-Companion to revive my cel phone, but now, it's 5.1.1 with no root (this is totally bad) So, searching in the internet to collect all the methods and try to use the better explanation, i find this video, and this site, I really think it's just a flammer or something like it, but, i prefer try, because i'm afraid to do all again and do the same crashes and again and again and again..
Humm, i'm seeing that i can't post links because i'm newbee here, so, the video is the 1 if we search:
How To Root Sony Xperia Z3 D5803
And the link for the site is in the description, it told to enter in a site, plug the cel phone and click in one button.
Ty guys, i will w8 for some answers.
PS: sorry about my bad english.
For my part I don't use this method because KingRoot has a "malware" (link) from what I read on different forums then it's quite persistent. I advise you to follow the traditional method : link.
Regards.

Nokia 5 TA-1053, original 7.1.1, got TWRP Recovery adapted by Can Xin from Chinese 7to forum, but stuck now

hey there,
just a quick recap:
The phone is still on Android 7.1.1, I"ve got a script with ADB from 7to Forum through 4pda.to, got the custom TWRP working, but after getting root through flashing magisk, it got stuck on boot. After I got the official 7.1.1 zip, it is back on official recovery and I gave up... (Link to 4pda, which I got my inital files from - it is a link to google translate, so you could read, what it is all about
The forum here on xda-developers for Nokia 5 is really messed up and there is no real guide or any help which could help me out, I don"t know any valid source of official ROMs, there are no tools - nothing.
I planned to get on Android 9 with ROOT through MAGISK, so I"ve got a unlocked bootloader and wanted just update to Android 9, so I could install MAGISK through TWRP.
but none of that worked, I got only the unlocked Bootloader....
maybe someone could please help, I just don"t know where to start now - I have some knowledge about Android, because every single smartphone of mine got rooted (HTC EVO 3D, SAMSUNG S5, HTC MI8), as I love AdAway and Viper4Android, but this phone for a family member got me started..... This phone is brand new, never used, got it from the grandmother of my girlfriend, wanted to get it to work and give it to someone else in need of a smartphone, but I got stuck...
Thanks it advance
I've managed to update it to pie, with some obscure errors, but it works flawlessly, but I'm on 6.12 now, want to update it to 6.19, but it doesn't work through the recovery, but I'm on it.
Maybe I will write a little tutorial after all, for someone, who has also those problems like me - it is getting harder and harder to get things done on older devices...
