Because some new users just spam in the threads then. The purpose of it is so that new members get acquainted with the rules and don't spam.
sooooo new users should first spam other threads to be able to post at dev section

Trust me... it doesn't work as it should... the will to spam is unbeatable...

To prevent spam, floods, trolls and threads like these on dev's area. Call it "learning time".

You are posting to wrong thead..
so mean new user need spam on Q&A first... hehe
No. See what happened to a certain user. Spammed tanx........... everywhere, boom! BAN. Newcomers can make everyone's life easier by just not spamming and following rules. Spam anywhere, get an infraction. But dev forum is the most important forum, so to prevent devs ragequitting, a protection against newbies should be put in place. Life on xda is simple. Just follow rules and don't spam.

Well............... yeah. And don't forget vixkes. Rotflol.
New to posting but not new to the site.
I've been using the dev threads now for a few months. I have been playing around with SD ROMs for my HD2 and this site is unquestionably brilliant. One of the ROMS I found works great. Two things, 1. a senior member posted that he was getting the same problem I had which I solved and wanted to help him. and 2. USB tethering isn't working in this ROM. Just wanted to ask. But can't help 1 and can't post a question for 2 to these really great developers because I haven't been here long enough...I have zero intention of spamming and will look for solutions to the tethering problem. I just want to help. So what do I need to do to become a safe and sane XDA member without offending anyone or spamming just to get past the 10 post barrier?

Easy. Just try out stuff or offer your view on something but WITHOUT posting pointlessly. Have fun on XDA .

There is one XDA rule which allows asking for donations only in signature and not in public posts. Follow this xda rule and stop asking for money. You're changing this open source forum in a commercial forum.
I didn't now sorry..

Maybe new great developer!! Come on!! Skin1980

Content removed. No donations are allowed to be solicited in advance for development. If you want to donate to a developer for work done, then donate
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Free mobile app
Paying developers in advance to join the community seems like a wrong way to me.
I'm not that long into the Android thing community but shouldn't a donation be more like a thank you for your great work?
If this becomes a thing I would prefer paying for professional programmers.
Like raising 1 or 2 thousand dollars and he makes a stable CM Version f.e. in 4 weeks. Like a fulltime job.
We have some great devs already...he's obviously welcome to join them but no one is gonna beg or pay him to join...I'm supprised the mods haven't closed this thread...you don't ask for donations before development even begins

You do realise posts like this are against XDA policy? That site robs of the very people whom you are asking to assist you.

Paypal Moneybox for a developer

Hi, an italian dev, lead developer of DescendantX is interested to buy Poco F2 Pro.
You can see his work here:
https://github.com/Dil3mm4
https://descendant.me/about/
He create a moneybox via PayPal were everyone can donate him what you want to help him to bring us one of the most interesting AOSP ROM with a different UI.
You can donate him here: MOD EDIT: Link Removed
Top! I hope he will buy F2 Pro! :good:
This guy apparently works off other peoples sources, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
I really hope we'll get some development. It's a good phone but i think k20 pro taken up all the peoples upgrades of phones last year... that's why Poco F2 Pro isn't more popular.
yeah nice but isn't he just creating a GSI ROM?

@phoenixita The PayPal Money Box has been created by the developer (even if you're sharing it here), which is considered as asking for a donation up-front, and therefore is in violation of the Forum Rules:
8. Donations.
