if you never rooted and if your device untouched not alerted and still under factory warranty, then I would suggest you to return it or exchange it...

Locked startup after flashing 2.3.4

Just flashed 2.3.4 via Odin and after reboot it asks for a password, can't get into recovery because password is needed for that aswel. So tried flashing back to JVH and after that's done it asking me for password again! So just flashed darkyys resurrection v9 and its fine now, but if I want gingerbread back its just asking for a password. Mega confused :/ lmao.
Edit. Found the solution! just enter any password multiple of times until it says wiping data!
You mean this??
It happened to my friend's phone, which is now resting peacefully on his Table. He tries to flash it 2 times a day hoping that he get through. There is no solution for this yet and it seems to be a rare issue. The only firmware that works for him is JPU
You must write any password several times. Then phone reboot into recovery.

Happened to me too. Just type a random password a few times. Phone will do a full-wipe, but you can use it after that.
Thankyou! I shall try this! And post back the result.

still cool
This is 100% checked.
It happened to me as well. Entering the wrong password multiple times did the trick. Not sure why it happened in the, first place. If someone has any idea as to what causes this issue.

[Q] Hard bricked Nexus 4 last night..

A quick explanation of my stupidity, I unlock and load customer iOS builds on iPhones all the time. I decided to take on the task of loading a customer rom on my Nexus 4 for the first time thinking, "how much harder can it be!". I wanted to put Xylon onto my device. After getting into restore mode and wiping doing the factory reset command, the phone shut off. It will not turn on at all. I've tried hard resetting the device and get nothing. When plugged into my computer, I can see it recognizes it as a driverless Qualcomm USB device so I know the phone is on, it just shows absolutely nothing on screen. How can I get this back up and running? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Boot into bootloader and see if you can get fastboot to connect. If you can, it's fixable. Just flash the stock images until you work up the nerve to try again.

A round of applause for this guy.
You managed to brick your Nexus. Did you fastboot flash the wrong IMG to the bootloader or what? Tell us what you did so no one else does it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm sorry for your loss.
I'd recommend letting it charge for a few hours, then try fastboot again.

Everything was going smoothly. Got to the customer loader which is where I did the factory reset and then went to select the image I wanted and realized I didn't put it in the phones directory. I went to the menu and hit "restart" and that was the last breath of my Nexus
Did you by chance flash xylon for nexus 7 by mistake as I believe that will brick your nexus 4 faster than crap thru a goose.

Ya know, I didn't even think of that... "Asu-Hydro 7.zip". Serves me right for doing this all at 4am. What do I need to do to get it back up? Will a USB Jig work to get Odin going?

Um, no. It's done. No bootloader = No way to recover. Unless I'm missing something. Anybody?
Also, Samsung uses Odin.

Only Samsung phones have Odin. LG does have a "download" mode' but I haven't seen the utility for it.
Currently I haven't read of anyone recovering from a N7 ROM or kernel flash.
Sorry, I think you're out of luck...

Well, if I send it back to google saying it wont turn on, think they will actually check to see if it was tampered with? If so, should I send it on 3 second through a trip through microwave before sending it?

Makes sense. The system or boot partition is probably the same as our bootloader.

I don't think there is any way for them to check if it doesn't turn on. There have been a few others who have done the same thing and gotten an RMA form Google with no problems. I did it with an Incredible from Verizon about 2 years ago with no problems after bricking it trying to unlock the bootloader.
Just wanted to post a reply to my incident. Google replaced the device and there was no charge. Thank you all for your help

Try to reflash and then do the data wipes by pulling the battery before it boots after the stock image is installed.

I have the Original 4.2.2 Stock Firmware for you. I sent you a Pm awaiting your response. The links will be sent to you after the response.

Phone is stuck at "Recovery booting". Help?

I tried to use GooManager to install TWRP, and now every time I try to reboot, the phone gets to the "Samsung Galaxy Note 3" page with three lines at the top - they say:
Recovery booting.....
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set Warrant Bit : Recovery
I was on the leaked KitKat firmware. Can I fix this without losing everything? Or should I just restore the 4.4 using ODIN and re-root?

I've just got one more question.
I can root using this right? https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/QbVy3arpymx
I did this a few days and it worked fine. When I went to do it again earlier it ****ed up and let to that error again.
That's when I restored everything again and asked you for CWM.
Someone on there (third from bottom) mentioned they had the same error.

It seems it does it every now and again for whatever reason, I was lucky my root worked right away but my flashing of 4.4.2 didn't lol -- Reflash 4.4.2 via Odin then re-root. Should be good to go mate
EDIT: Careful if you are restoring anything via CWM, as it has just been done for 4.4.2 there *may* be issues with it that haven't been noticed.

OK Your phone HATES you lol,
Last thing I can think of, is you may have had the wrong file try This one at the bottom of the page is the link. If you already have this one, then Re-flash Stock to fix yourself, and hold tight on root until it can be figured out 100% for now.
