[HELP] Problem with multi touch nexus 4 lollipop 5.1.1 - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening, can you help me? Every time I go to use the multi touch on some touch to the game, it still works, just can not use the multi touch simultaneously, For example when I try to walk and jump in a game, the character jumps, but stop the run, in photos I can use the multi touch quietly, does anyone know how to fix this?Another problem is that when I go into the play store, type a name of any app and if it appears a direct link to google play store simply crash. I'm using lollipop 5.1.1 please help me

Is this a new problem on your phone?
Maybe a factory reset would help?

After replacement screen i believe, the problem of when I use the multi-touch and when I drop a finger both sort out, if I push a button and push each other and hold works, but if I let go of the buttons the two "disconnect" for example : if I run and shoot in a game, if I walk and pressing the shoot, he will ride and shoot normally, but if I try to get going and pressing 1 for 1 second to shoot, ride the will "lose the contact"

I've started to get a similar issue. I have developed a 'dead zone' in the top 3rd immediately above the centre of the screen. When scrolling the phone is registering a press on the screen and selecting links/icons instead of scrolling past them. Sometimes the phone goes loopy registering continuous presses along this line not allowing any other screen presses to be registered. I have enabled 'show pointer touches' in developer mode which shows the screen registering touches that I have not performed. Pressing the power button and then squeezing the sides of the phone resolves this temporally leaving me with the 'dead zone'.
Am I right in thinking that a replacement screen is needed?

World's First - Play TombRaider with full feature "ON TOUCH"!!!Button Problem Solved!
For the very first time in the WHOLE DAME WORLD(I guess), I figured out how to play Tomb Raider "On Touch" with the menu function!!!!!
(Same method may also be able to apply to the worms world party game)
After a long time of searching, failing and failing, again and again, holding up hopes and down for many times, I've tried so many methods, and searched for hundreds of times on the net, just to figure out how to play my favorite game: Tomb Raider, on my Touch. I even tried to use a hex editor to edit files in the game folder when I know actually nothing about programming. And then an idea flashed through my brain when I saw a picture of a "checking mark" appeared on the in-game screen of Tomb Raider after I accidentally pressed on a corner, I realized that the "active corner" function from FTouchSL WORKS ON Tomb Raider!!!!! So I did a little search on the keycode that brings up the Tomb Raider menu, and there it is!!! It's 195!!!
So this is how you do it (if you're already a FTouchSL user, skip to the second quote):
You download & install the freeware version of FTouchSL(If it asks about closing TouchFlo function, choose no), and go to it's configuration screen and do as the following first quote:
Enable FTouchSL: yes
Enable at startup: no (so everytime you play TombRaider you have to enable FTouchSL first. If you choose yes, some annoying message may appear telling you to register the program )
Disable on SIP active: Yes
Notifications: None
Scrolling: Disabled
Gestures: Disabled
Active corners: Enabled
Exeptions: Add program name, and browse to the TombRaider.exe, add an action of Active Corner to the bottom-left(or any corner you prefer), choose Send Key for the action, and put 195 in the key code blank.

If you're using FTouchSL already, just go ahead and make an exeption of Tomb Raider.exe, add an action of Active Corner to the bottom-left(or any corner you prefer), choose Send Key for the action, and put 195 in the key code blank.
Click to collapse
And there you go! When in the game, press on the corner for over a second and you'll see a checking mark appears, and the menu is up!!! Congratulations!!!!! YOU CAN SAVE THE GAME, AND CHOOSE ANY WEAPON AND WHATEVER, ANYTIME YOU WANT!!!!!
Note: This is actually the first post I have that actually helps anything, so I hope it'll work with no problem because I have NONE!
Cheers! ;D
Actually dude...I'm playing Tomb Raider on my o2 XDA Terra for a week now with no problems whatsoever...I can save load do all the stuff pull out weapons and everything works fine...
Dunno if you checked it or maybe it's different on your phone but on mine I jst had to push the camera button on the top of the cell to bring up the menu...The message buttons closes the app completely and auto saves. The windows button is the ok button and the ok button is the pull out weapon button. Did you try every button of your phone while ingame?
freeware? if so link to the game
Ehm nah it's not freeware.

Sorry, my bad, I should've make the "on Touch" more noticable.
On Touch we didn't have any button to bring up the menu because we only have two buttons blow the screen and it's green and red, and the volume switches wouldn't do anything, but the camera button at lease brings up the weapon. Anyway, without the menu you can barely play the game.

FTouchSL is freeware, but not TombRaider.
but you can always find it somewhere......

[Q] Disable Home Button for toddler app?

I've developed and app that is a slide show of pictures which each play a sound when you tap them. It's like a picture book for ages 2-4.
The problem is, since android won't let you capture a home button press and essentially disable it, when parents give the phone to their child to play with unattended (brave parent), the child can inadvertenly exit the app and then make calls or otherwise tweak the phone.
There are two other apps that currently have a psuedo fix for this issue. The apps are Toddler Lock and ToddlePhone. I've tried contacting the developers of these apps for some guidance but they haven't been willing to disclose anything, which if fine, but does anyone here have any suggestions?
It looks like both of those other apps are acting like a home screen replacement app. When you enable the "childproof mode" on those apps the user is prompted to chose and app for the action and the choices are "Launcher, LauncherPro, etc." plus the toddler app. You then have to make the toddler app the default and voila, the phone is "locked" and can only be "unlocked" using a key combination or touching the four corners of the screen, etc. when you "unlock" the phone. your normal home screen app default restored. You don't even have to make the toddler app the default the next time you enable the "childproof mode".
I have read that these two apps have problems with Samsung phones and they can cause an an infinite crash-and-restart-loop that requires a factory reset to fix. Obviously this is not the ideal solution to the problem but it looks like the only one availiable at this point.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to implement a "childproof mode"?
Could it run on top of the lock screen
So Do you mean making the app a lock screen replacement? I suppose that could work.
Do you have a suggestion on how to accomplish that?

LocationServices causes UI lag/smoothness issues even with stock factory reset.

Greetings.
I discovered some smoothness/FPS issues with even the completely stock ROM install and I really would like your help replicating.
Test #1:
you need to be capable of visually perceiving consistent 60fps screen updates, vs. 30fps/hitching/stuttering/something less than 60fps
download and install LinkBubble Browser.
Go to twitter or google search, search for something, click a link, and use LinkBubble to open it.
in developer options, go to Input and check Show Touches
drag the LinkBubble bubble around with your finger in a circular motion in the middle of the screen
observe whether the bubble follows your finger as smoothly as the Touch Input indicator. Note: it will trail the Touch Input indicator, this is normal. What we're looking for is smoothness. Is it trailing at 60fps? Is it trailing as smoothly as the Touch Input indicator?
If yes, don't reboot for an hour, and try again
If no (me), reboot, and test immediately. Does it run more smoothly?
Test #2:
download and install Swype + Dragon keyboard
configure and switch to this keyboard
instead of continuing to read, you can watch this video, and replicate; otherwise continue reading
repeatedly tap the F and H keys with both thumbs at the same moment about 100 times (or until you observe it detecting a 'swype' instead of taps)
does Swype properly detect both the taps as independent key taps?
or does Swype incorrectly detect both taps as a Swype (line drawn on keyboard)
If it's properly detecting all taps, don't reboot for an hour, and try again
If no (me), reboot, and test immediately. Does it run more smoothly? For me it does.
here's what I've found so far:
uninstalling (disable/freeze is not sufficient, LG software seems to bypass this) SlideAside, Dual Window, and both of the LocationServices shown in Titanium Backup (make a backup of each before uninstalling!) and then rebooting seems to resolve these issues. So far, I think LG's Location Services are to blame. Having uninstalled both, everything is doing much better.
a factory reset stock device has these issues
fresh CloudyStock 2.7 install and factory reset has this issue
I've attached a LogCat from when it was hitching. The earlier one at 13-03 (1:03pm) was when it was hitching, the latter, larger file (14-52 aka 2:52pm) is when it was running buttery smooth. I need to look at these more closely. Maybe it's a garbage collection thing?
Maybe I need something from dmesg?
You decide.

weird screen bug

This has happened twice today. I am using the phone and the voice typing display will not go away. I can use the phone.. .i can go to the homescreen, open apps, look at settings, etc, but i cannot close the voice prompt, and i can't use it.
It essesentially makes the phone useless until i reboot.
I am not sure why it is doing this. Not rooted nor unlocked or anything.. just stock.
The other thing it is doing is that sometimes when i wave my hand over the screen i will see the unlock screen. it will have the time and a lock icon below it ... if i touch the lock icon, it moves to a lower (on the screen) position and when i re adjust to hit the lock again it moves back up. Not sure how to screen shot this... maybe a video from a different phone.
when this happens, it will unlock by pressing the power button. I think this has something to do with the smart lock. DAMN google for forcing you to have a lock when you use Android Pay. Never had this problem on my Note 4 with Wallet.
Anyway, any help on either of these bugs would be appreciated
ok, i can reproduce the bug.
can someone else try this to confirm?
- with the phone screen off have someone send you a text message.
- swipe up directly to messages. ( use the google one, but i am not sure if it matters.)
- reply to the message with a google voice typing
- hit the power button to turn off the screen.
- Have the person text you again.
- open message by swiping up to it.
At this point the tap to speak screen will be there and not go away until you reboot.
no one else?
here is a video showing the problem I can't believe I am the only one experiencing this

I can try it when I get my phone, but that's a few weeks away...

No matter where I touch the screen the app list is launched :(

I'm not sure what happened but all of a sudden interactive buttons no longer work as no matter where I touch the screen the app list is launched. In the past interactive buttons for calendar, fit, etc would launch the prospective functions but no longer and the app list was launched by swiping from the right of the screen. Any ideas how to get back to normal?
Which watch face?maybe it for corrupted somehow.
Try restart phone. Maybe try a different watch face.
