Gear S2 & MXP - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a gear s2 (cellular), and everything seems to be working fine, except that since I dont have a Samsung device, I can't get milk music onto the watch, because it won't install to phone.
Anyone know of a workaround? Thanks!

Did you try sideloading milk music app?

Is that watch worth??

The watch it awesome, I'm loving it. Tried already, but can't download the watch app in the "gear apps" store, and I can't find the wgt file anywhere.
It's definitely a huge upgrade from the gear s. Aside from messages from phone not syncing to watch, and milk music not being available, its pretty much full functionality

Android market

Has anyone heard anything about google revamping the market? We should be able to download full movies and mp3's legally the same way itunes does. That is really the only thing apple can hold over our heads right now.

Cool, now we need movies and my car dock will be more useful lol. I know the phone can handle it cause I book of eli installed and plays it smooth, not the least bit choppy.

[APP] Audiogalaxy Users?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you use the app Audiogalaxy. It's a wonderful app for streaming your whole music collection from your computer to your phone. It works phenomenally (for the most part) and you are able to access as much of your music as you want without clogging up your sd card.
However, it appears that Audiogalaxy's server is down at this time. If anybody else out there uses this app, are you having issues too?
Also, they recently updated the app and I don't like the interface quite as much. They added some social networking features that are cool for some, but not my cup of tea. I was wondering if somebody still has the older (about 2 months ago) apk before the update.
EDIT: their servers are back online and all is good again. If you haven't given this app a try, it is well worth it. All 140 gigs of my music is now streamable from wherever I have a data connection. It does great on 3g.
Thanks all!
Cool bro ill check it out

I'm still waiting for my google music invite I'll check out subsonic too, thanks for the suggestion.
I was scared when all of the sudden audiogalaxy quit working on me. I got into work this morning wanting to play some music and I was left very disappointed. All is well again after lunch though
I just received my Google music beta invite so ill be checking that out when I get home. Do you have problems with your playlists not playing very randomly when set to random?

Music App?

Anyone have a recommendation for a music app similar to the stock samsung TW app? I've tried all of the popular ones and they're UI's aren't as simple as the stock samsung. I'm running 4.4.2 and am not able to use that samsung app.
I suggest Poweramp I've used it for the past year. It works well with DSP manager and has a very convenient UI once you get used to it. Its really worth paying for! It offers a trial if you want to try it before buying it.

I am liking the GoneMad player. Have been using Mortplayer, but wanted a change and GoneMad may be it.
Available on Amazon appstore and if you got the free $5 from them it will end up free.
I use poweramp, I got a playstore card pretty much just to buy it. Song fade is really good, the next song starts playing very fast. I wish there was more EQ's in it though..

volume skip track

i LOVED this on my note 3 and miss it terribly. Any chance someone could put this mod together for the s5? thanks in advance.
It's available through wanam if you use xposed framework.

there is also a program called pocket skip track available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.silentlexx.volbtntrackctrl
works perfectly.
Pocket skip track is good but if you're rooted Wanam is more seamless

it is when it works. for some reason that option will not work on my phone. i removed pocket skip track. rebooted. checked the box in wanam, rebooted. wont work. had to put pocket skip track back on.
Edit: Just tried it again. wanam mod doesn't work for google play music but it worked fine for the samsung music app. Since i use google play music (Yes i have google play set as defaul in applications.) and not the samsung app it is back to pocket skip track. Good thing is once you install it, choose default music app and start the service, you don't have to do a thing with it and you can choose any player you want it to work with.
Wanam also works with Power amp, double twist, and several other third party players. Play music is the only player I've heard of that is confirmed not working. It even works for me on non music player apps such as umano.

Good to know it works with all those other players in case i decide play music no longer works for me.
Wanam does not work with Google music for some reason. Also it takes forever to actually change a track

How can i see my video in Gear VR

I followed the step online.
copied video to Sd card\Movies folder
But i still cannot see it!
Can anyone help me?
TIA
I used \occulus\Movie and that worked
I can't get movies to appear on the SD card either although it works fine using device storage.
There's a thread on the S7 Questions forum suggesting this is because the S7/Edge is using software from the S6 which of course doesn't have external storage. If so hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I couldn't play any either, but installed the free app, Gear VR Gallery, and now I can!

you mean you can see your own video now ?
I put it in my internal memory /oculus/movies them I could find it in oculus videos
For your own (downloaded) movies to work you need to create the right folder structure. I believe it is:
Oculus\movies\my videos\ (for standard movies)
Oculus\movies\my videos\3d\ (for 3d movies)

Seems Oculus have acknowledged the issue and are working a fix.
