Good news on Mate 7 Android 6.0 Marshmallow! - Ascend Mate 7 General

Some users have leaked Mate 7 Android 6.0 Marshmallow screenshots on Huawei official Chinese forum .
It seems like they had connected their Mate 7 to HiSuite and received the B506 update there.
But apparently, Huawei is only planning to start Mate 7 user testings of Android 6.0 on 22nd November with limited users on its official Chinese forum.
So it is unclear whether there has been a fault of releasing the B506 version early.
As a new user, I am not able to post pictures here. Screenshots can be found on the Huawei official Chinese forum within the Mate 7 thread. :fingers-crossed:

Testing has begun...and year later we'll be on b589 and counting....

I`am counting on the first quarter of 2016 :good:

I won't update to LP and just use KK untill MM is out and tested.

From official Huawei forum:
New SMS menu, new battery icon(u can change from few) , new multitasking , also you can change dpi from settings
Build is dated October 31 - Closed beta starts November 22

What about tl09 or it's for gold version only?

I don't think that there's official lollipop update over ota ..only the one's available on here. I have b327 with the b300 ...everything else works fine but notification panel swipe down with finger print sensor does not

I have an official B324 OTA running on my Mate 7 and it works fine, no Problems...But I think they've stopped it,because

Is there anyone who get a Beta of the Marshmellow 6.0?...

Marshmallow will definitely come for KIW-L24 model since Honor US mentioned it. I'm currently beta testing Marshmallow for KIW-L22, so it will recieve the update as well. I don't know about KIW-L21 model, but it will most probably receive it as well.
It's been another month... where's the update???
EMUI 4 for honor x5
Hello there.
I noticed on the Huawei web site that you can download EMUI 4 for honor x5.
File: Honor 5X OpenSource (KIW&KII Android 6.0_ EMUI4.0_kernel_overseas).zip
Does someone know how to apply the update?
Thanks

Hi, I'm pretty sure that is just the new kernel without the operation system. A kernel is low-level software sitting between the phone's hardware and the android operating system. We need Huawei to release the Android 6.0 operating system source code as well

Hello,
That's the source code and you cannot apply it as you need to compile that one first. The source code is meant for developers and is very useful for making custom ROMs.
I am not sure with Honor 5x model are you using, but here in India for KIW-22, the beta test for Android6+EMUI4 is under progress and I am one of the beta tester from the community. Same should be the situation all across the Globe. There are some problems with RAM management and battery. With the update, device consumes more RAM and battery than Android 5.1+EMUI3, which is keeping the update from the release. Developers are working hard to fix these issues and update should be out soon.
Also here in India, Honor has put release candidate version for Android6+EMUI4 update for download on request only for KIW-22. Here is the URL: https://club.hihonor.com/in/honor5x...i-4-0-marshmallow-limited-public-release.2985
I bet the same should be there for your region. You can download and update your phone to that version.
pank.dhnd, thanks for your detailed explanation.
I’m an average user, so in my case I will wait for the official update.

Official M3 Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0 entering beta yesterday?

Short answer shorter: a leaked EMUI 5.0 schedule from Huawei claims the M3 edition of Android 7.0 (not 7.1) and EMUI 5.0 (with rumored much lower EMUI annoyance quotient (EMUIAQ)) is going into beta, and this may have already been released as of this past Wednesday the 18th. Release version is scheduled to go final in April and public in May. No word on if this is correct, current and not delayed, or even real. If you can read Chinese you may be able to glean a bit more info from the image.
Mate 8 users update to EMUI 5.0 over here.
Bonus cookie points if you know sekrit publik Huawei FTP dumps to check. Post type set to Q&A so any ROMs can get put up top.
You may want to see these two official thread on Chinese Huawei forum:
Here you may see some dates when some stagis of distributing EMUI 5.0 will come

That's actually a good question. I couldn't find any infos either...
I hope open beta comes soon, the 6.0 build is slow as hell.
I saw an update today, changing the build number from B002 to B003, but no other version info or specifics listed. I'll update tonight and see what it is.
Has anyone had success signing up for the Beta program & actually received outreach of any kind?
Also, has anyone from the US gotten signed up?
Thanks.

Wondering when Nougat EM5 comes to this device. Wish there were more hype and development on it. Love the device/hardware, hate the lack of evolution and EMUI 4.
Sent from my BTV-W09 using Tapatalk
I'm on BTV-DL09-C100-B302 (a very advanced EU test version I guess) and it is very stable.
If you can find an android 6 EMUI 4.1 full stock rom for your region (equivalent to BTV-DL09-C100-B009 for Europe), you can always, while waiting for the official release, update to a very advanced test/unofficial version if you find one for your region also.
BTV-DL09-C100-B302 has been very stable so far and it offers a nice look and feel and experience. I do love EMUI and the v5.0. It's a nice mix between IOS / android.
I don't think the official release will be any different and better than BTV-DL09-C100-B302. Security and bug fixes probably but very fine as it is.
Better battery life so far, wifi, bluetooth and LTE and... fingerprint sensor are perfectly stable. Compared to B006, better cellphone signal strength and it's stable (or my cell provider has improved the coverage in my area which is also possible also).
Like you, I would love to get a full official Nougat EMUI 5.0 rom though.
mid May and NO update?

I unlock my S6 running Nougat with fingerprint and I noticed that on MarshMallow it did not require the PIN as much as it does on Nougat. I would say that Nougat has tighter restrictions regarding fingerprint unlock. I only use the fingerprint to navigate, partly because of this behaviour.

Huawei definite nougat versión?

When I got the Mate 8 I had no previous experience with Huawei devices. I did not expect the company to be so "beta oriented".
Any news on when are we receiving a DEFINITIVE official Nougat software? Being in a Beta is disappointing. I have no NFC or Bluetooth and battery life sucks.

If Huawei Nova or even old P9 lite got EMUI 5, Im sure Honor 8 will receive EMUI 6.
Ps Honor 8 should have EMUI 5 on start, we waited short for Android 7. For Example Huawei P8 still receives updates (security patches etc).

Its that what I said maybe my english is not clear.
Huawei support his phones anyway. We'll see soon, I hope H8 will receive Oreo
As you can look by screenshots, different sites have differents toughts about Honor 8 "Android Oreo" update. The German site says it is in list for a possible update, the other it isn't in that list (but they are not sure because they marked the phone as controversial) . Now nothing is official but we have to wait (or push) Honor to take a decision anout the future of this great phone. We have to understand if "two years update" means "two major updates at least" or just "we will push security updates and won't abandon H8".
I am certain we will get it, but I am also certain it will take ages to release. May be wrong on both my opinions though.
i created a thread earlier https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/andorid-o-honor-8-honor-8-pro-honor-9-t3633124
the chances are very less to get OREO
I believe the most important question is not whether we will receive EMUI 6.0 (which is a possibility according to some sites: https://newsnexa.com/tech/huawei-android-8-0-update-emui-6-rom/ ) but whether EMUI 6.0 will implement Project Treble:
https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2017/05/here-comes-treble-modular-base-for.html
Essentially Project Treble (which will be enabled on phones shipping with Oreo) will allow the "Windows Update for Android", receiving security (and possibly other) updates via Google and not via the manufacturer. Or at least allow Huawei to implement said updates faster. Without it, Android 8.0/EMUI 6.0 will be the last useful "official" upgrade for our phone.
In any case, I won't hold my breath..
Here's the information from the Chinese forums
https://forum.xda-developers.com/picture.php?albumid=14397&pictureid=56089
https://forum.xda-developers.com/album.php?albumid=14397&pictureid=56090
As far as it's true, I do not presume to affirm, but judging by the screen and the crooked translation, there is hope to get an update to EMUI 6.0 based on android 8.0 at the beginning of 18.
I think it isn't true...first the "oreo" logo present here replaced the "EMUI" logo that should be there. This can be easily changed by "Emui theme editor" with or without root. Second, the other info could be faked by any root user through build.prop editor. I think it is a theme applied to nougat with some build.prop info changed

Should I install 7.12.19 update?

Just got Mi A1 today and it says an update is available. I thought it was the Oreo update they announced a few days earlier but it's not. They call it "Transition version for Android O".
Reading here and on Xiaomi forums I found out that both this update and Oreo have a lot of problems so now I don't know what to do? Install this update or wait for a stable 8.0 version?
I didn't have any problems with the update you mention.
I'm also not having any problems with Oreo.
You won't be getting the update to Oreo that everyone else updated to, it's been pulled so you would end up with this December update, then would have to wait for the next Oreo update.

I don't understand why 1GB update is needed to go from Android 7.1.2 to 7.1.2 again with just this changelog:
1. D2Acontinuous annoying sharp Sound problem in A1
2. D2A is transferred to 112 when the local emergency number is called in the Czech Republic

No issues with Oreo, works as good as Nougat did!

Yes, you should absolutely install 7.12.19 as it is a security update. This is still Android Nougat (version 7).
The update is stable on my phone and actually improved some performance aspects (e.g. the time lag of the fingerprint reader is gone).
For Android Oreo (version 8) you should absolutely wait another month or two.
